We improve and generalize some operator inequalities for positive linear maps. It is shown, among other inequalities, that if $0<m\le B\le m'<M'\le A\le M$ or $0<m\le A\le m'<M'\le B\le M$, then for each $2\le p<\infty $ and $ν\in \left[ 0,1 \right]$, \begin{equation*} {{Φ}^{p}}\left( A{{\nabla }_{ν}}B \right)\le {{\left( \frac{K\left( h \right)}{{{4}^{\frac{2}{p}-1}}{{K}^{r}}\left( h' \right)} \right)}^{p}}{{Φ}^{p}}\left( A{{\#}_{ν}}B \right), \end{equation*} and \begin{equation*} {{Φ}^{p}}\left( A{{\nabla }_{ν}}B \right)\le {{\left( \frac{K\left( h \right)}{{{4}^{\frac{2}{p}-1}}{{K}^{r}}\left( h' \right)} \right)}^{p}}{{\left( Φ\left( A \right){{\#}_{ν}}Φ\left( B \right) \right)}^{p}}, \end{equation*} where $r=\min \left\{ ν,1-ν\right\}$, $h=\frac{M}{m}$ and $h'=\frac{M'}{m'}$. We also obtain an improvement of operator Pólya-Szegö inequality.
T. Coulhon introduced an interesting reformulation of the usual Sobolev inequalities. We characterize Coulhon type inequalities in terms of rearrangement inequalities.
We use the characterization of weak type inequalities via Garsia-Rodemich conditions to show self improving properties of Poincaré-Sobolev inequalities in a very general context.
Using a method of Korobenko, Maldonado and Rios we show a new characterization of doubling metric-measure spaces supporting Poincaré inequalities without assuming a priori that the measure is doubling.
In this note we formulate recent stability results for Hardy inequalities in the language of Folland and Stein's homogeneous groups. Consequently, we obtain remainder estimates for Rellich type inequalities on homogeneous groups. Main differences from the Euclidean results are that the obtained stability estimates hold for any homogeneous quasi-norm.
A note that points out the possibility to have p<1 in Sobolev type of inequalities by a use of the momomial structure of polynomials or power series. The proof is simple: Triangle angle inequality p*>1, monomial estimate from p* to exponent p<1, then the inverse triangle inequality.
We obtain generalisations of some inequalities for positive unital linear maps on matrix algebra. This also provides several positive semidefinite matrices and we get some old and new inequalities involving the eigenvalues of a Hermitian matrix.
The classical Hausdorff-Young inequalities for the Fourier transform acting between appropriate $L_p$ spaces are cornerstones of Fourier analysis. Here we extend it to weighted spaces of Besov or Sobolev type where the weight has the form $w(x)=(1+|x|^2)^{α/2}$. This note is not a paper or draft but a sketchy complement to some earlier results where we dealt with mapping properties of the Fourier transform.
We present new estimate for Hardy-type inequality in variable exponent Lebesgue spaces. More precisely, by imposing regularity assumptions on the exponent, we prove that the estimations can be reduced to the fixed exponents.
The main goal of this exposition is to present further analysis of the Kantorovich and Ando operator inequalities. In particular, a new proof of Ando's inequality is given, a new non-trivial refinement of Kantorovich inequality is shown, and some equivalent forms of Kantorovich inequality are presented with a Minkowski-type application.
In this work, generalizations of some inequalities for continuous $h$-synchronous ($h$-asynchronous) functions of linear bounded selfadjoint operators under positive linear maps in Hilbert spaces are proved.
In the setting of Carnot groups, we prove the $q-$Logarithmic Sobolev inequality for probability measures as a function of the Carnot-Carathéodory distance. As an application, we use the Hamilton-Jacobi equation in the setting of Carnot groups to prove the $p-$Talagrand inequality and hypercontractivity.
We offer a new proof of uniform convexity inequalities for the Finsler manifold of nonpositive curvature taken on the space of positive-semidefinite matrices with the weighted matrix geometric mean defining the geodesic between two points. Using the technique of log majorization, we are able to characterize that the equality cases of said equalities occur if and only if the matrices commute, and hence are the same as in $\ell^p$.
In this paper, we improve and generalize the operator versions of Kantorovich and Wielandt inequalities for positive linear maps on Hilbert space. Our results are more extensive and precise than many previous results due to Fu and He [Linear Multilinear Algebra, doi: 10. 1080/03081087. 2014. 880432.] and Zhang [Banach J. Math. Anal., 9 (2015), no. 1, 166-172.].
We prove a scale of generalized $L^p$-Poincaré inequalities and Sobolev type inequalities on graphs with polynomial volume growth. They are optimal on Vicsek graphs.
Tsallis relative operator entropy was defined as a parametric extension of relative operator entropy and the generalized Shannon inequalities were shown in the previous paper. After the review of some fundamental properties of Tsallis relative operator entropy, some operator inequalities related to Tsallis relative operator entropy are shown in the present paper. Our inequalities give the upper and lower bounds of Tsallis relative operator entropy. The operator equality on Tsallis relative operator entropy is also shown by considering the tensor product. This relation generalizes the pseudoadd…
This note proves sharp affine Gagliardo-Nirenberg inequalities which are stronger than all known sharp Euclidean Gagliardo-Nirenberg inequalities and imply the affine $L^{p}-$Sobolev inequalities. The logarithmic version of affine $L^{p}-$Sobolev inequalities is verified. Moreover, An alternative proof of the affine Moser-Trudinger and Morrey-Sobolev inequalities is given. The main tools are the equimeasurability of rearrangements and the strengthened version of the classical Pólys-Szegö principle.
The aim of this paper is to prove an improved version of the bounded differences inequality for matrix valued functions, by developing the methods of Mackey et al.: "Matrix Concentration Inequalities via the Method of Exchangeable Pairs". Along the way, we prove new trace inequalities for the matrix exponential.
We show that a class of Poincaré-Wirtinger inequalities on bounded convex sets can be obtained by means of the dynamical formulation of Optimal Transport. This is a consequence of a more general result valid for convex sets, possibly unbounded.
Employing the notion of operator log-convexity, we study joint concavity$/$ convexity of multivariable operator functions: $(A,B)\mapsto F(A,B)=h\left[ Φ(f(A))\ σ Ψ(g(B))\right]$, where $Φ$ and $Ψ$ are positive linear maps and $σ$ is an operator mean. As applications, we prove jointly concavity$/$convexity of matrix trace functions $\Tr\left\{ F(A,B)\right\}$. Moreover, considering positive multi-linear mappings in $F(A,B)$, our study of the joint concavity$/$ convexity of $(A_1,\cdots,A_k)\mapsto h\left[ Φ(f(A_1),\cdots,f(A_k))\right]$ provides some generalizations and complement to results o…
Analogues of the classical inequalities from the Brunn-Minkowski theory for rotation intertwining additive maps of convex bodies are developed. Analogues are also proved of inequalities from the dual Brunn-Minkowski theory for intertwining additive maps of star bodies. These inequalities provide generalizations of results for projection and intersection bodies. As a corollary, a new Brunn-Minkowski inequality is obtained for the volume of polar projection bodies.
The purpose of this paper is to present some general inequalities for operator concave functions which include some known inequalities as a particular case. Among other things, we prove that if $A\in \mathcal{B}\left( \mathcal{H} \right)$ is a positive operator such that $mI\le A\le MI$ for some scalars $0<m<M$ and $Φ$ is a normalized positive linear map on $\mathcal{B}\left( \mathcal{H} \right)$, then \[\begin{aligned} {{\left( \frac{M+m}{2\sqrt{Mm}} \right)}^{r}}&\ge {{\left( \frac{\frac{1}{\sqrt{Mm}}Φ\left( A \right)+\sqrt{Mm}Φ\left( {{A}^{-1}} \right)}{2} \right)}^{r}} & \ge \frac{\frac{1}…
This note revisits some majorization inequalities for eigenvalues, special attention is given to an elegant theorem of Hiroshima. An extension of the special case of Hiroshima's theorem is presented. Some discussion and open problems are also included.
In this note we extend some new estimates of the integral $\int_a^b (x-a)^p(b-x)^qf(x)dx$ for functions when a power of the absolute value is $P-$convex.

We propose a new method for obtaining Poincare-type inequalities on arbitrary convex bodies in R^n. Our technique involves a dual version of Bochner's formula and a certain moment map, and it also applies to some non-convex sets. In particular, we generalize the central limit theorem for convex bodies to a class of non-convex domains, including the unit balls of L_p-spaces in R^n for 0 < p < 1.

The aim of this note is to show that Poincaré inequalities imply corresponding weighted versions in a quite general setting. Fractional Poincaré inequalities are considered, too. The proof is short and does not involve covering arguments.
In this paper, we generalize some matrix inequalities involving matrix power and Karcher means of positive definite matrices. Among other inequalities, it is shown that if ${\mathbb A}=(A_{1},...,A_{n})$ is a $n$-tuple of positive definite matrices such that $0<m\leq A_{i}\leq M\, (i=1,\cdots,n)$ for some scalars $m< M$ and $ω=(w_{1},\cdots,w_{n})$ is a weight vector with $w_{i}\geq0$ and $\sum_{i=1}^{n}w_{i}=1$, then \begin{align*} Φ^{p}\Big(\sum_{i=1}^{n}w_{i}A_{i}\Big)\leq α^{p}Φ^{p}(P_{t}(ω; {\mathbb A})) \end{align*} and \begin{align*} Φ^{p}\Big(\sum_{i=1}^{n}w_{i}A_{i}\Big)\leq α^{p}Φ^{p…
We study the weighted Poincaré constant $C(p,w)$ of a probability density $p$ with weight function $w$ using integration methods inspired by Stein's method. We obtain a new version of the Chen-Wang variational formula which, as a byproduct, yields simple upper and lower bounds on $C(p,w)$ in terms of the so-called Stein kernel of $p$. We also iterate these variational formulas so as to build sequences of nested intervals containing the Poincaré constant, sequences of functions converging to said constant, as well as sequences of functions converging to the solutions of the corresponding spectr…
In this note we produce generalized versions of the classical inequalities of Hardy and of Hilbert and we establish their equivalence. Our methods rely on the H^1-BMOA duality. We produce a class of examples to establish that the generalizations are non-trivial.
Let $ϕ$ be a linear map from the $n\times n$ matrices ${\mathcal M}_n$ to the $m\times m$ matrices ${\mathcal M}_m$. It is known that $ϕ$ is $2$-positive if and only if for all $K\in {\mathcal M}_n$ and all strictly positive $X\in {\mathcal M}_n$, $ϕ(K^*X^{-1}K) \geq ϕ(K)^*ϕ(X)^{-1}ϕ(K)$. This inequality is not generally true if $ϕ$ is merely a Schwarz map. We show that the corresponding tracial inequality ${\rm Tr}[ϕ(K^*X^{-1}K)] \geq {\rm Tr}[ϕ(K)^*ϕ(X)^{-1}ϕ(K)]$ holds for a wider class of positive maps that is specified here. We also comment on the connections of this inequality with vario…
We present some generalizations of quantum information inequalities involving tracial positive linear maps between $C^*$-algebras. Among several results, we establish a noncommutative Heisenberg uncertainty relation. More precisely, we show that if $Φ: \mathcal{A} \to \mathcal{B}$ is a tracial positive linear map between $C^*$-algebras , $ρ\in \mathcal{A}$ is a $Φ$-density element and $A,B$ are self-adjoint operators of $\mathcal{A}$ such that $ {\rm sp}(\mbox{-i}ρ^\frac{1}{2}[A,B]ρ^\frac{1}{2}) \subseteq [m,M] $ for some scalers $0<m<M$, then under some conditions \begin{eqnarray}\label{inema…
In this note we continue giving the characterisation of weights for two-weight Hardy inequalities to hold on general metric measure spaces possessing polar decompositions. Since there may be no differentiable structure on such spaces, the inequalities are given in the integral form in the spirit of Hardy's original inequality. This is a continuation of our paper [M. Ruzhansky and D. Verma. Hardy inequalities on metric measure spaces, Proc. R. Soc. A., 475(2223):20180310, 2018] where we treated the case $p\leq q$. Here the remaining range $p>q$ is considered, namely, $0<q<p$, $1<p<\infty.$ We g…
