We prove the matrix $A_2$ conjecture for the dyadic square function, that is, a norm estimate of the matrix weighted square function, where the focus is on the sharp linear dependence on the matrix $A_2$ constant in the estimate. Moreover, we give a mixed estimate in terms of $A_2$ and $A_{\infty}$ constants. Key is a sparse domination of a process inspired by the integrated form of the matrix--weighted square function.
Quantitative formulations of Fefferman's counterexample for the ball multiplier are naturally linked to square function and vector-valued estimates for directional singular integrals. The latter are usually referred to as Meyer-type lemmas and are traditionally attacked by combining weighted inequalities with sharp estimates for maximal directional averaging operators. This classical approach fails to give sharp bounds. In this article we develop a novel framework for square function estimates, based on directional Carleson embedding theorems and multi-parameter time-frequency analysis, which …
Let $S_{\a,ψ}(f)$ be the square function defined by means of the cone in ${\mathbb R}^{n+1}_{+}$ of aperture $\a$, and a standard kernel $ψ$. Let $[w]_{A_p}$ denote the $A_p$ characteristic of the weight $w$. We show that for any $1<p<\infty$ and $\a\ge 1$, $$\|S_{\a,ψ}\|_{L^p(w)}\lesssim \a^n[w]_{A_p}^{\max(1/2,\frac{1}{p-1})}.$$ For each fixed $\a$ the dependence on $[w]_{A_p}$ is sharp. Also, on all class $A_p$ the result is sharp in $\a$. Previously this estimate was proved in the case $\a=1$ using the intrinsic square function. However, that approach does not allow to get the above estima…
In this paper we refine the recent sparse domination of the integrated $p = 2$ matrix weighted dyadic square function by T. Hytonen, S. Petermichl, and A. Volberg to prove a pointwise sparse domination of general matrix weighted dyadic square functions. We then use this to prove sharp two matrix weighted strong type inequalities for matrix weighted dyadic square functions when $1 < p \leq 2$.
We prove the sharp weighted-$L^2$ bounds for the strong-sparse operators introduced in \cite{KaragulyanM}. The main contribution of the paper is the construction of a weight that is a lacunary mixture of dual power weights. This weights helps to prove the sharpness of the trivial upper bound of the operator norm.
In this paper, we study the weighted inequality for multilinear fractional maximal operators and fractional integrals. We give sharp weighted estimates for both operators.
In this note we give a new proof of the sharp constant $C = e^{-1/2} + \int_0^1 e^{-x^2/2}\,dx$ in the weak (1, 1) inequality for the dyadic square function. The proof makes use of two Bellman functions $\mathbb{L}$ and $\mathbb{M}$ related to the problem, and relies on certain relationships between $\mathbb{L}$ and $\mathbb{M}$, as well as the boundary values of these functions, which we find explicitly. Moreover, these Bellman functions exhibit an interesting behavior: the boundary solution for $\mathbb{M}$ yields the optimal obstacle condition for $\mathbb{L}$, and vice versa.
We provide elementary proofs for the terms that are left in the work of Kelly Bickel, Sandra Pott, Maria C. Reguera, Eric T. Sawyer, Brett D. Wick who proved the sharp weighted $A_2$ bound for Haar shifts and Haar multiplier. Our proofs use weighted square function estimate, Carleson embedding and Wilson's system.
We prove that the sharp constant in the univariate Bernstein--Nikolskii inequality for entire functions of exponential type is the limit of the sharp constant in the V. A. Markov type inequality with an exponential weight for coefficients of an algebraic polynomials of degree n as $n\to\iy$.
We prove limit equalities between the sharp constants in weighted Nikolskii-type inequalities for multivariate polynomials on an $m$-dimensional cube and ball and the corresponding constants for entire functions of exponential type.
We prove an appropriate sharp quantitative reverse Hölder inequality for the $C_p$ class of weights from which we obtain as a limiting case the sharp reverse Hölder inequality for the $A_\infty$ class of weights. We use this result to provide a quantitative weighted norm inequality between Calderón-Zygmund operators and the Hardy-Littlewood maximal function, precisely \[ \|Tf\|_{L^p(w)} \lesssim_{T,n,p,q} [w]_{C_q}(1+\log^+[w]_{C_q})\|Mf\|_{L^p(w)}, \] for $w\in C_q$ and $q>p>1$, quantifying Sawyer's theorem.
We prove a sharp square function estimate for the cone in $\mathbb{R}^3$ and consequently the local smoothing conjecture for the wave equation in $2+1$ dimensions.
In this article, we address pointwise sparse domination for multilinear Calderón-Zygmund operators on upper doubling, geometrically doubling metric measure spaces. As a consequence, we have obtained sharp quantitative weighted estimates for multilinear Calderón-Zygmund operators.
In this note, we study the sharp weighted estimate involving one supremum. In particular, we give a positive answer to an open question raised by Lerner and Moen \cite{LM}. We also extend the result to rough homogeneous singular integral operators.
We get sharp estimates for the distribution function of nonnegative weights, which satisfy so called $A_{p_1, p_2}$ condition. For particular choices of parameters $p_1$, $p_2$ this condition becomes an $A_p$-condition or Reverse Hölder condition. We also get maximizers for these sharp estimates. We use the Bellman technique and try to carefully present and motivate our tactics. As an illustration of how these results can be used, we deduce the following result: if a weight $w$ is in $A_2$ then it self-improves to a weight, which satisfies a Reverse Hölder condition.
We prove sharp $L^p(w)$ norm inequalities for the intrinsic square function (introduced recently by M. Wilson) in terms of the $A_p$ characteristic of $w$ for all $1<p<\infty$. This implies the same sharp inequalities for the classical Lusin area integral $S(f)$, the Littlewood-Paley $g$-function, and their continuous analogs $S_ψ$ and $g_ψ$. Also, as a corollary, we obtain sharp weighted inequalities for any convolution Calderón-Zygmund operator for all $1<p\le 3/2$ and $3\le p<\infty$, and for its maximal truncations for $3\le p<\infty$.
We investigate the weighted bounds for multilinear maximal functions and Calderón-Zygmund operators from $L^{p_1}(w_1)\times...\times L^{p_m}(w_m)$ to $L^{p}(v_{\vec{w}})$, where $1<p_1,...,p_m<\infty$ with $1/{p_1}+...+1/{p_m}=1/p$ and $\vec{w}$ is a multiple $A_{\vec{P}}$ weight. We prove the sharp bound for the multilinear maximal function for all such $p_1,..., p_m$ and prove the sharp bound for $m$-linear Calderón-Zymund operators when $p\geq 1$.
In this paper, we will give the weighted bounds for multilinear fractional maximal type operators $\mathcal{M}_{Ω,α}$ with rough homogeneous kernels. We obtain a mixed $A_{(\vec{P},q)}-A_\infty$ bound and a $A_{\vec{P}}$ type estimate for $\mathcal{M}_{Ω,α}$. As an application, we give an almost sharp estimate for the multilinear fractional integral operator with rough kernels $\mathcal{I}_{Ω,α}$.
In this paper we prove some sharp weighted norm inequalities for the multi(sub)linear maximal function $\Mm$ introduced in \cite{LOPTT} and for multilinear Calderón-Zygmund operators. In particular we obtain a sharp mixed "$A_p-A_{\infty}$" bound for $\Mm$, some partial results related to a Buckley-type estimate for $\Mm$, and a sufficient condition for the boundedness of $\Mm$ between weighted $L^p$ spaces with different weights taking into account the precise bounds. Next we get a bound for multilinear Calderón-Zygmund operators in terms of dyadic positive multilinear operators in the spirit…
For a matrix A_2 weight W on R^p, we introduce a new notion of W-Calderón-Zygmund matrix kernels, following earlier work in by Isralowitz. We state and prove a T1 theorem for such operators and give a representation theorem in terms of dyadic W-Haar shifts and paraproducts, in the spirit of Hytönen's Representation Theorem. Finally, by means of a Bellman function argument, we give sharp bounds for such operators in terms of bounds for weighted matrix martingale transforms and paraproducts.
In this paper, the index groups for which the weighted Young's inequalities hold in both continuous case and discrete case are characterized. As applications, the index groups for the product inequalities on modulation spaces are characterized, we also obtain the weakest conditions for the boundedness of bilinear Fourier multipliers on modulation spaces in some sense. For the fractional integral operator, the sharp conditions for the boundedness of power weighted Lp-Lq estimates in both continuous case and discrete case are obtained. By a quite different approach from others, our theorems opti…
Given $1\leq q<p<\infty$ quantitative weighted L^p estimates, in terms of Aq weights, for vector valued maximal functions, Calderón-Zygmund operators, commutators and maximal rough singular integrals are obtained. The results for singular operators will rely upon suitable convex body domination results, which in the case of commutators will be provided in this work, obtaining as a byproduct a new proof for the scalar case as well.
For a class of sparse operators including majorants of singular integral, square function, and fractional integral operators in a uniform manner, we prove off-diagonal two-weight estimates of mixed type in the two-weight and $A_{\infty}$-characteristics. These bounds are known to be sharp in many cases; as a new result, we prove their sharpness for fractional square functions.
Here we show that Lerner's method of local mean oscillation gives a simple proof of the $A_2$ conjecture for spaces of homogeneous type: that is, the linear dependence on the $A_2$ norm for weighted $L^2$ Calderon-Zygmund operator estimates. In the Euclidean case, the result is due to Hytönen, and for geometrically doubling spaces, Nazarov, Rezinikov, and Volberg obtained the linear bound.
We consider a version of M. Riesz fractional integral operator on a space of homogeneous type and show an analogue of the well-known Hardy--Littlewood--Sobolev theorem in this context. In our main result, we investigate the dependence of the operator norm on weighted spaces on the weight constant, and find the relationship between these two quantities. It it shown that the estimate obtained is sharp in any given space of homogeneous type with infinitely many points. Our result generalizes the recent Euclidean result by Lacey, Moen, P{é}rez and Torres.
Any Calderon-Zygmund operator T is pointwise dominated by a convergent sum of positive dyadic operators. We give an elementary self-contained proof of this fact, which is simpler than the probabilistic arguments used for all previous results in this direction. Our argument also applies to the q-variation of certain Calderon-Zygmund operators, a stronger nonlinearity than the maximal truncations. As an application, we obtain new sharp weighted inequalities.
The purpose of this short article is to prove some potential estimates that naturally arise in the study of subelliptic Sobolev inequalites for functions. This will allow us to prove a local subelliptic Sobolev inequality with the optimal amount of smoothing, as well as a variant of that which describes quantitatively an improvement of the inequality as one gets away from certain characteristic varieties.
In this paper, we will study the boundedness of intrinsic square functions on the weighted Hardy spaces $H^p(w)$ for $0<p<1$, where $w$ is a Muckenhoupt's weight function. We will also give some intrinsic square function characterizations of weighted Hardy spaces $H^p(w)$ for $0<p<1$.
We discuss $(H_p,L_p)$ and $(H_p,\text{weak}-L_p)$ type inequalities of weighted maximal operators of $T$ means with respect to the Vilenkin systems with monotone coefficients, considered in \cite{tut4} and prove that these results are the best possible in a special sense. As applications, both some well-known and new results are pointed out.
We provide sharp bounds for the exponential moments and $p$-moments, $1\leqslant p \leqslant 2$, of the terminate distribution of a martingale whose square function is uniformly bounded by one. We introduce a Bellman function for the corresponding extremal problem and reduce it to the already known Bellman function on $\mathrm{BMO}([0,1])$. In the case of tail estimates, a similar reduction does not work exactly, so we come up with a fine supersolution that leads to sharp tail estimates.
We consider the weak-type inequality for Littlewood-Paley square functions on A_p weighted Lebesgue spaces. Of interest is the sharp in the A_p characteristic estimate. The case of 1<p<2 is subcritical, and the sharp power of 1/p is established. In the critical case of p=2, we miss the critical exponent 1/2 by a logarithm of the A_p characteristic. These estimates improve on known estimates for 1<p<3.
In this paper, by using the atomic decomposition theory of weighted Hardy spaces, we will give some weighted weak type estimates for intrinsic square functions including the Lusin area function, Littlewood-Paley $g$-function and $g^*_λ$-function on these spaces.
Using Bellman function approach, we present new proofs of weighted $L^2$ inequalities for square functions, with the optimal dependence on the $A_2$ characteristics of the weight and further explicit constants. We study the estimates both in the analytic and probabilistic context, and, as application, obtain related estimates for the classical Lusin and Littlewood-Paley square functions.
The classical A. Markov inequality establishes a relation between the maximum modulus or the $L^{\infty}\left([-1,1]\right)$ norm of a polynomial $Q_{n}$ and of its derivative: $\|Q'_{n}\|\leqslant M_{n} n^{2}\|Q_{n}\|$, where the constant $M_{n}=1$ is sharp. The limiting behavior of the sharp constants $M_{n}$ for this inequality, considered in the space $L^{2}\left([-1,1], w^{(α,β)}\right)$ with respect to the classical Jacobi weight $w^{(α,β)}(x):=(1-x)^α(x+1)^β$, is studied. We prove that, under the condition $|α- β| < 4 $, the limit is $\lim_{n \to \infty} M_{n} = 1/(2 j_ν)$ where $j_ν$ i…
In this article we present a new proof of a sharp Reverse Hölder Inequality for $A_\infty$ weights that is valid in the context of spaces of homogeneous type. Then we derive two applications: a precise open property of Muckenhoupt classes and, as a consequence of this last result, we obtain a simple proof of a sharp weighted bound for the Hardy-Littlewood maximal function involving $A_\infty$ constants: |M|_{L^p(w)} \leq c (\frac{1}{p-1} [w]_{A_p}[σ]_{A_\infty})^{1/p}, where $1<p<\infty$, $σ=w^{\frac{1}{1-p}}$ and $c$ depends only on the doubling constant of the measure $μ$ and the geometric c…
The recent proof of the sharp weighted bound for Calderón-Zygmund operators has led to much investigation in sharp mixed bounds for operators and commutators, that is, a sharp weighted bound that is a product of at least two different $A_p$ weight constants. The reason why these are sought after is that the product will be strictly smaller than the original one-constant bound. We prove a variety of these bounds in spaces of homogeneous type, using the new techniques of Lerner, for both operators and commutators.
Quantitative weighted estimates are obtained for the Littlewood-Paley square function $S$ associated with a lacunary decomposition of ${\mathbb R}$ and for the Marcinkiewicz multiplier operator. In particular, we find the sharp dependence on $[w]_{A_p}$ for the $L^p(w)$ operator norm of $S$ for $1<p\le 2$.
In this paper, by using the atomic decomposition theorem for weighted weak Hardy spaces, we will show the boundedness properties of intrinsic square functions including the Lusin area integral, Littlewood-Paley $g$-function and $g^*_λ$-function on these spaces.
In this paper, we will study the boundedness properties of intrinsic square functions including the Lusin area integral, Littlewood-Paley $g$-function and $g^*_λ$-function on the weighted Morrey spaces $L^{p,κ}(w)$ for $1<p<\infty$ and $0<κ<1$. The corresponding commutators generated by $BMO(\mathbb R^n)$ functions and intrinsic square functions are also discussed.
In this paper, we will obtain the weak type estimates of intrinsic square functions including the Lusin area integral, Littlewood-Paley $g$-function and $g^*_λ$-function on the weighted Morrey spaces $L^{1,κ}(w)$ for $0<κ<1$ and $w\in A_1$.
We prove that the intrinsic square functions including Lusin area integral and Littlewood-Paley $g^{\ast}_λ$-function as defined by Wilson, are bounded in a class of function spaces include weighted Morrey spaces. The corresponding commutators generated by $BMO$ functions are also considered.
In this paper, the boundedness properties of vector-valued intrinsic square functions and their vector-valued commutators with $BMO(\mathbb R^n)$ functions are discussed. We first show the weighted strong type and weak type estimates of vector-valued intrinsic square functions in the Morrey type spaces. Then we obtain weighted strong type estimates of vector-valued analogues of commutators in Morrey type spaces. In the endpoint case, we establish the weighted weak $L\log L$-type estimates for these vector-valued commutators in the setting of weighted Lebesgue spaces. Furthermore, we prove weig…
In a recent paper V. Vasyunin presented a proof of the reverse Hölder inequality with sharp constants for the weights satisfying the usual Muckenhoupt condition. In this paper we present the inverse, that is, we use the Bellman function technique to find the sharp $A_p$ constants for weights in a reverse-Hölder class on an interval; we also find the sharp constants for the higher-integrability result of Gehring. Additionally, we find bounds for the $A_p$ constants of reverse-Hölder-class weights defined on rectangles and on cubes in n dimensions.
A simple shortcut to proving sharp weighted estimates for the Martingale Transform and for the dyadic shift of order 1 (and so for the Hilbert transform) is presented. It is a unified proof for these both transforms. Key words: Calder\on--Zygmund operators, $A_2$ weights, $A_1$ weights, Carleson embedding theorem, Bellman function, dyadic shifts, nonhomogeneous Harmonic Analysis.
In this paper, we will obtain the strong type and weak type estimates of intrinsic square functions including the Lusin area integral, Littlewood-Paley $g$-function and $g^*_λ$-function on the weighted Herz spaces $\dot K^{α,p}_q(w_1,w_2)$ ($K^{α,p}_q(w_1,w_2)$) with general weights.
We give a short proof of the sharp weighted bound for sparse operators that holds for all $p$, $1<p<\infty$. By recent developments this implies the bounds hold for any Calderón-Zygmund operator. The novelty of our approach is that we avoid two techniques that are present in other proofs: two weight inequalities and extrapolation. Our techniques are applicable to fractional integral operators as well.
We prove a sharp Bernstein-type inequality for complex polynomials which are positive and satisfy a polynomial growth condition on the positive real axis. This leads to an improved upper estimate in the recent work of Culiuc and Treil on the weighted martingale Carleson embedding theorem with matrix weights. In the scalar case this new upper bound is optimal.
