Matrix divisors are introduced in the work by A.Weil (1938) which is considered as a starting point of the theory of holomorphic vector bundles on Riemann surfaces. In this theory matrix divisors play the role similar to the role of usual divisors in the theory of line bundles. Moreover, they provide explicit coordinates (Tyurin parameters) in an open subset of the moduli space of stable vector bundles. These coordinates turned out to be helpful in integration of soliton equations.
We would like to gain attention to one more relationship between matrix divisors of vector G-bundles (where G is a complex semi-simple Lie group) and the theory of integrable systems, namely to the relationship with Lax operator algebras. The result we obtain can be briefly formulated as follows: the moduli space of matrix divisors with certain discrete invariants and fixed support is a homogeneous space. Its tangent space at the unit is naturally isomorphic to the quotient space of M-operators by L-operators, both spaces essentially defined by the same invariants (the result goes back to Krichever, 2001). We give one more description of the same space in terms of root systems.
Let $f:X \to S$ be a Galois cover of Riemann surfaces, with Galois group $G$. In this paper we analyze the $G$-invariant divisors on $X$, and their associated spaces of meromorphic functions, differentials, and $q$-differentials. We generalize the trace formula for non-trivial elements of $G$ on $q$-differentials, as well as the Chevalley--Weil Formula. When $G$ is Abelian or when the genus of $S$ is 0 we prove additional results, and we also determine the non-special $G$-invariant divisors when both conditions are satisfied.
For an (imaginary) hyperelliptic curve $\mathcal{H}$ of genus $g$, we determine a basis of the Riemann-Roch space $\mathcal{L}(D)$, where $D$ is a divisor with positive degree $n$, linearly equivalent to $P_1+\cdots+ P_j+(n-j)Ω$, with $0 \le j \le g$, where $Ω$ is a Weierstrass point, taken as the point at infinity. As an application, we determine a generator matrix of a Goppa code for $j=g=3$ and $n=4.$
Let $ \; G \; $ be a group acting on a compact Riemann surface $ \; {\mathcal X} \; $ and $ \; D \; $ be a $ \; G$-invariant divisor on $\; {\mathcal X}. \; $ The action of $ \; G \; $ on $ \; {\mathcal X} \; $ induces a linear representation $ \; L_G(D) \; $ of $ \; G \; $ on the Riemann-Roch space associated to $ \; D.$ In this paper we give some results on the decomposition of $ \; L_G(D) \; $ as sum of complex irreducible representations of $ \; G, \; $ for $ \; D \; $ an effective non-special $\; G$-invariant divisor. In particular, we give explicit formulae for the multiplicity of each c…
A new class of infinite-dimensional Lie algebras given a name of Lax operator algebras, and the related unifying approach to finite-dimensional integrable systems with spectral parameter on a Riemann surface, such as Calogero--Moser and Hitchin systems, are presented. In particular, our approach includes (the non-twisted) Kac--Moody algebras and integrable systems with rational spectral parameter. The presentation is based on the quite simple ideas related to gradings of semisimple Lie algebras, and their interaction with the Riemann--Roch theorem. The basic properties of the Lax operator alge…

在\cite{kri02}中,I.
Geometry of vector bundle extensions and applications to a generalised theta divisor
We explain how the Riemann-Roch theorem for divisors on an abelian variety $A$ is related to the reduced norms of the Wedderburn components of $\operatorname{End}^0(A)$ the $\mathbb{Q}$-endomorphism algebra of $A$. We then describe consequences and examples.
We investigate, using purely combinatorial methods, structural and algorithmic properties of linear equivalence classes of divisors on tropical curves. In particular, an elementary proof of the Riemann-Roch theorem for tropical curves, similar to the recent proof of the Riemann-Roch theorem for graphs by Baker and Norine, is presented. In addition, a conjecture of Baker asserting that the rank of a divisor D on a (non-metric) graph is equal to the rank of D on the corresponding metric graph is confirmed, and an algorithm for computing the rank of a divisor on a tropical curve is constructed.
We show that the space of theta functions on tropical tori is identified with a convex polyhedron. We also show a Riemann-Roch inequality for tropical abelian surfaces by calculating the self-intersection numbers of divisors.
We prove a Riemann-Roch theorem of an entirely novel nature for divisors on the Arakelov compactification of the algebraic spectrum of the integers. This result relies on the introduction of three key concepts: the cohomologies (attached to a divisor), their integer dimension, and Serre duality. These notions directly extend their classical counterparts for function fields. The Riemann-Roch formula equates the (integer valued) Euler characteristic of a divisor with a slight modification of the traditional expression in terms of the sum of the degree of the divisor and the logarithm of 2. Both …
For a divisor $D$ on a tropical variety $X$, we define two amounts in order to estimate the value of $h^{0}(X,D)$, which are described by terms of global sections and computed more easily than $h^{0}(X,D)$. As an application of its estimation, we show that a Riemann-Roch inequality holds for smooth tropical toric surfaces.
We present the correspondence between Lax integrable systems with spectral parameter on a Riemann surface, and Conformal Field Theories, in quite general set-up suggested earlier by the author. This correspondence turns out to give a prequantization of the integrable systems in question.
The zero divisor of the theta function of a compact Riemann surface $X$ of genus $g$ is the canonical theta divisor of Pic${}^{(g-1)}$ up to translation by the Riemann constant $Δ$ for a base point $P$ of $X$. The complement of the Weierstrass gaps at the base point $P$ given as a numerical semigroup plays an important role, which is called the Weierstrass semigroup. It is classically known that the Riemann constant $Δ$ is a half period $\frac{1}{2}Γ_τ$ for the Jacobi variety $\mathcal{J}(X)=\mathbb{C}^g/Γ_τ$ of $X$ if and only if the Weierstrass semigroup at $P$ is symmetric. In this article,…
We develop a new framework for investigating linear equivalence of divisors on graphs using a generalization of Gioan's cycle--cocycle reversal system for partial orientations. An oriented version of Dhar's burning algorithm is introduced and employed in the study of acyclicity for partial orientations. We then show that the Baker--Norine rank of a partially orientable divisor is one less than the minimum number of directed paths which need to be reversed in the generalized cycle--cocycle reversal system to produce an acyclic partial orientation. These results are applied in providing new proo…
The bad locus in the moduli of super Riemann surfaces with Ramond punctures parametrizes those super Riemann surfaces that have more than the expected number of independent closed holomorphic 1-forms. There is a super period map that depends on certain discrete choices. For each such choice, the period map blows up along a divisor that contains the bad locus. Our main result is that away from the bad locus, at least one of these period maps remains finite. In other words, we identify the bad locus as the intersection of the blowup divisors. The proof abstracts the situation into a question in …
We investigate the symplectic geometric and differential geometric aspects of the moduli space of connections on a compact Riemann surface $X$. Fix a theta characteristic $K^{1/2}_X$ on $X$; it defines a theta divisor on the moduli space ${\mathcal M}$ of stable vector bundles on $X$ of rank $r$ degree zero. Given a vector bundle $E \in {\mathcal M}$ lying outside the theta divisor, we construct a natural holomorphic connection on $E$ that depends holomorphically on $E$. Using this holomorphic connection, we construct a canonical holomorphic isomorphism between the following two: \begin{enumer…
