This article deals with trace operators on anisotropic Lizorkin--Triebel spaces with mixed norms over cylindrical domains with smooth boundary. As a preparation we include a rather self-contained exposition of Lizorkin--Triebel spaces on manifolds and extend these results to mixed-norm Lizorkin--Triebel spaces on cylinders in Euclidean space. In addition Rychkov's universal extension operator for a half space is shown to be bounded with respect to the mixed norms, and a support preserving right-inverse of the trace is given explicitly and proved to be continuous in the scale of mixed-norm Lizorkin--Triebel spaces. As an application, the heat equation is considered in these spaces, and the necessary compatibility conditions on the data are deduced.
We derive basic properties of Triebel-Lizorkin-Lorentz spaces important in the treatment of PDE. For instance, we prove Triebel-Lizorkin-Lorentz spaces to be of class $\mathcal{HT}$, to have property $(α)$, and to admit a multiplier result of Mikhlin type. By utilizing these properties we prove the Laplace and the Stokes operator to admit a bounded $H^\infty$-calculus. This is finally applied to derive local strong well-posedness for the Navier-Stokes equations on corresponding Triebel-Lizorkin-Lorentz ground spaces.
In this work we show endpoint boundedness properties of pseudo-differential operators of type $(ρ,ρ)$, $0<ρ<1$, on Triebel-Lizorkin and Besov spaces. Our results are sharp and they also cover operators defined by compound symbols.
Elliptic problems with additional unknown distributions in boundary conditions are investigated in Besov and Sobolev-Triebel-Lizorkin spaces of low regularity, specifically of an arbitrary negative order. We find that the problems induce Fredholm bounded operators on appropriate pairs of these spaces.
In this work we establish sharp boundedness results for pseudo-differential operators corresponding to $a\in\mathcal{S}_{0,0}^{m}$ on Triebel-Lizorkin spaces $F_p^{s,q}$ and Besov spaces $B_p^{s,q}$.
This article gives general results on invariance of anisotropic Lizorkin--Triebel spaces with mixed norms under coordinate transformations on Euclidean space, open sets and cylindrical domains.
Local stay of the solutions to the Euler equations for an ideal incompressible fluid in the end-point Triebel-Lizorkin spaces $F^s_{1, \infty}(\mathbb{R}^d)$ with $s \geq d + 1$ is clarified.
Pseudo-differential operators of type 1,1 are proved continuous from the Triebel--Lizorkin space $F^d_{p,1}$ to $L_p$ for $1\le p<\infty$, when of order d, and this is the largest possible domain among the Besov and Triebel--Lizorkin spaces. Hörmander's condition on the twisted diagonal is extended to this framework, using a general support rule for Fourier transformed pseudo-differential operators.
We prove the continuous dependence of the solution maps for the Euler equations in the (critical) Triebel-Lizorkin spaces, which was not shown in the previous works(\cite{Ch02, Ch03, ChMiZh10}). The proof relies on the classical Bona-Smith method as \cite{GuLiYi18}, where similar result was obtained in critical Besov spaces $B^1_{\infty,1}$.
In this paper we establish optimal local and global Besov-Lipschitz and Triebel-Lizorkin estimates for the solutions to linear hyperbolic partial differential equations. These estimates are based on local and global estimates for Fourier integral operators that span all possible scales (and in particular both Banach and quasi-Banach scales) of Besov-Lipschitz spaces $B^s_{p,q}(\R^n)$, and certain Banach and quasi-Banach scales of Triebel-Lizorkin spaces $F^s_{p,q}(\R^n)$
The article deals with a simplified proof of the Sobolev embedding theorem for Lizorkin--Triebel spaces (that contain the $L_p$-Sobolev spaces $H^s_p$ as special cases). The method extends to a proof of the corresponding fact for general Lizorkin--Triebel spaces based on mixed $L_p$-norms. In this context a Nikol'skij--Plancherel--Polya inequality for sequences of functions satisfying a geometric rectangle condition is proved. The results extend also to spaces of the quasi-homogeneous type.
Semi-linear elliptic boundary problems with non-linearities of product type are considered, in particular the stationary Navier--Stokes equations. Regularity and existence results are dealt with in the Besov and Triebel--Lizorkin spaces, and it is explained how difficulties occurring for boundary conditions of a high class may be handled.
The main result is that every pseudo-differential operator of type 1,1 and order $d$ is continuous from the Triebel--Lizorkin space $F^d_{p,1}$ to $L_p$, $1\le p<\infty$, and that this is optimal within the Besov and Triebel--Lizorkin scales. The proof also leads to the known continuity for $s>d$, while for all real $s$ the sufficiency of Hörmander's condition on the twisted diagonal is carried over to the Besov and Triebel--Lizorkin framework. To obtain this, type 1,1-operators are extended to distributions with compact spectrum, and Fourier transformed operators of this type are on such distr…
In this paper we obtain new estimates for bilinear pseudodifferential operators with symbol in the class $BS_{1,1}^m$, when both arguments belong to Triebel-Lizorkin spaces of the type $F_{p,q}^{n/p}(\mathbb{R}^n)$. The inequalities are obtained as a consequence of a refinement of the classical Sobolev embedding $F^{n/p}_{p,q}(\mathbb{R}^n)\hookrightarrow\mathrm{bmo}(\mathbb{R}^n)$, where we replace $\mathrm{bmo}(\mathbb{R}^n)$ by an appropriate subspace which contains $L^\infty(\mathbb{R}^n)$. As an application, we study the product of functions on $F_{p,q}^{n/p}(\mathbb{R}^n)$ when $1<p<\inf…
The subject is traces of Sobolev spaces with mixed Lebesgue norms on Euclidean space. Specifically, restrictions to the hyperplanes given by the first and last coordinates are applied to functions belonging to quasi-homogeneous, mixed-norm Lizorkin--Triebel spaces; Sobolev spaces are obtained from these as special cases. Spaces admitting traces in the distribution sense are characterised except for the borderline cases; these are also covered in case of the first variable. With respect to the first variable the trace spaces are proved to be mixed-norm Lizorkin--Triebel spaces with a specific s…
Temporal regularity of the solution to the incompressible Euler equations in the end-point critical Triebel-Lizorkin space $F^{d+1}_{1, \infty}(\mathbb{R}^d)$
The Boutet de Monvel calculus of pseudo-differential boundary operators is generalised to the full scales of Besov and Triebel--Lizorkin spaces (though with finite integral exponents for the latter). The continuity and Fredholm properties proved here extend those previously obtained by Franke and Grubb, and the results on range complements of surjectively elliptic Green operators improve the earlier known, even for the classical spaces with $1<p<\infty$. The symbol classes treated are the uniformly estimated ones. Some precisions are given for the general definitions of trace and singular Gree…
Including the previously untreated borderline cases, the trace spaces in the distributional sense of the Besov--Lizorkin--Triebel spaces are determined for the anisotropic (or quasi-homogeneous) version of these classes. The ranges of the trace are in all cases shown to be approximation spaces, and these are shown to be different from the usual spaces precisely in the previously untreated cases. To analyse the new spaces, we carry over some real interpolation results as well as the refined Sobolev embeddings of J.~Franke and B.~Jawerth to the anisotropic scales.

In this work we investigate the boundedness of Fourier multipliers on Triebel-Lizorkin spaces associated to positive Rockland operators on a graded Lie group. The found criterion is expressed in terms of the Hörmander-Mihlin condition on the global symbol of a Fourier multiplier.
In this article, the authors establish the pointwise characterization of Besov and Triebel-Lizorkin spaces on spaces of homogeneous type via clarifying the relationship among Hajłasz-Sobolev spaces, Hajłasz-Besov and Hajłasz-Triebel-Lizorkin spaces, grand Besov and Triebel-Lizorkin spaces, and Besov and Triebel-Lizorkin spaces. A major novelty of this article is that all results presented in this article get rid of both the dependence on the reverse doubling condition of the measure and the metric condition of the quasi-metric under consideration. Moreover, the pointwise characterization of th…
In this article the authors study complex interpolation of Sobolev-Morrey spaces and their generalizations, Lizorkin-Triebel-Morrey spaces. Both scales are considered on bounded domains. Under certain conditions on the parameters the outcome belongs to the scale of the so-called diamond spaces.
Let $G:\mathbb{R\rightarrow R}$ be a continuous function. In the first part of this paper, we investigate sufficient conditions on $G$ such that \begin{equation*} \{G(f):f\in \dot{K}_{p,q}^{α}F_{β}^{s}\}\subset \dot{K}_{p,q}^{α}F_{β}^{s} \end{equation*} holds. Here $\dot{K}_{p,q}^{α}F_{β}^{s}$ are Herz-type Triebel-Lizorkin spaces. These spaces unify and generalize many classical function spaces such as Lebesgue spaces of power weights, Sobolev and Triebel-Lizorkin spaces of power weights. In the second part of this paper we will study local and global Cauchy problems for the semilinear parabo…
In this paper we develop a theory of Besov and Triebel--Lizorkin spaces on general noncompact Lie groups endowed with a sub-Riemannian structure. Such spaces are defined by means of hypoelliptic sub-Laplacians with drift, and endowed with a measure whose density with respect to a right Haar measure is a continuous positive character of the group. We prove several equivalent characterizations of their norms, we establish comparison results also involving Sobolev spaces of recent introduction, and investigate their complex interpolation and algebra properties.
In this paper we consider second order parabolic partial differential equations subject to the Dirichlet boundary condition on smooth domains. We establish weighted $L_{q}$-maximal regularity in weighted Triebel-Lizorkin spaces for such parabolic problems with inhomogeneous boundary data. The weights that we consider are power weights in time and space, and yield flexibility in the optimal regularity of the initial-boundary data, allow to avoid compatibility conditions at the boundary and provide a smoothing effect. In particular, we can treat rough inhomogeneous boundary data.
In this article, the authors establish the wavelet characterization of Besov and Triebel--Lizorkin spaces on a given space $(X,d,μ)$ of homogeneous type in the sense of Coifman and Weiss. Moreover, the authors introduce almost diagonal operators on Besov and Triebel--Lizorkin sequence spaces on $X$, and obtain their boundedness. Using this wavelet characterization and this boundedness of almost diagonal operators, the authors obtain the molecular characterization of Besov and Triebel--Lizorkin spaces. Applying this molecular characterization, the authors further establish the Littlewood--Paley…
We investigate the boundedness of Fourier multipliers on a compact Lie group when acting on Triebel-Lizorkin spaces. Criteria are given in terms of the Hörmander-Mihlin-Marcinkiewicz condition. In our analysis, we use the difference structure of the unitary dual of a compact Lie group. Our results cover the sharp Hörmander-Mihlin theorem on Lebesgue spaces and also other historical results on the subject.
Let $α\in\mathbb R$, $q\in(0,\infty]$, $p\in(0,\infty)$, and $W$ be an $A_p(\mathbb{R}^n,\mathbb{C}^m)$-matrix weight. In this article, the authors characterize the matrix-weighted Triebel-Lizorkin space $\dot{F}_{p}^{α,q}(W)$ via the Peetre maximal function, the Lusin area function, and the Littlewood-Paley $g_λ^{*}$-function. As applications, the authors establish the boundedness of Fourier multipliers on matrix-weighted Triebel-Lizorkin spaces under the generalized Hörmander condition. The main novelty of these results exists in that their proofs need to fully use both the doubling property…
On a general Lie group $G$ endowed with a sub-Riemannian structure and of local dimension $d$, we characterize the pointwise multipliers of Triebel--Lizorkin spaces $F^{p,q}_α$ for $p,q\in (1,\infty)$ and $α>d/p$, and those of Besov spaces $B^{p,q}_α$ for $q\in [1,\infty]$, $p>d$ and $d/p< α<1$. When $G$ is stratified, we extend the latter characterization to all $p,q\in [1,\infty]$ and $α>d/p$.
In this article, the authors introduce Besov and Triebel-Lizorkin spaces on spaces of homogeneous type in the sense of Coifman and Weiss, prove that these (in)homogeneous Besov and Triebel-Lizorkin spaces are independent of the choices of both exp-ATIs (or exp-IATIs) and underlying spaces of distributions, and give some basic properties of these spaces. As applications, the authors show that some known function spaces coincide with certain special cases of Besov and Triebel-Lizorkin spaces and, moreover, obtain the boundedness of Calderón-Zygmund operators on these Besov and Triebel-Lizorkin s…
We obtain new molecular decompositions and molecular synthesis estimates for Hermite Besov and Hermite Triebel--Lizorkin spaces and use such tools to prove boundedness properties of Hermite pseudo-multipliers on those spaces. The notion of molecule we develop leads to boundedness of pseudo-multipliers associated to symbols of Hörmander-type adapted to the Hermite setting on spaces with non-positive smoothness; in particular, we obtain continuity results for such operators on Lebesgue and Hermite local Hardy spaces. As a byproduct of our results on boundedness properties of pseudo-multipliers, …
In this article, the authors introduce the spaces of Lipschitz type on spaces of homogeneous type in the sense of Coifman and Weiss, and discuss their relations with Besov and Triebel-Lizorkin spaces. As an application, the authors establish the difference characterization of Besov and Triebel-Lizorkin spaces on spaces of homogeneous type. A major novelty of this article is that all results presented in this article get rid of the dependence on the reverse doubling assumption of the considered measure of the underlying space ${\mathcal X}$ via using the geometrical property of ${\mathcal X}$ e…
It is shown that para-multiplication applies to a certain product $π(u,v)$ defined for appropriate temperate distributions $u$ and $v$. Boundedness of $π(\cdot,\cdot)$ is investigated for the anisotropic Besov and Triebel--Lizorkin spaces, more precisely for $B^{M,s}_{p,q}$ and $F^{M,s}_{p,q}$ with $s\in\mathbb{R}$ and $p$ and $q\in\,]0,\infty]$, though $p<\infty$ in the $F$-case. Both generic as well as various borderline cases are treated. The spaces $B^{M,s_0}_{p_0,q_0}\oplus B^{M,s_1}_{p_1,q_1}$ and $F^{M,s_0}_{p_0,q_0}\oplus F^{M,s_1}_{p_1,q_1}$ to which $π(\cdot,\cdot)$ applies are deter…
Matrix-Weighted Besov-Triebel-Lizorkin Spaces of Optimal Scale: Real-Variable Characterizations, Invariance on Integrable Index, and Sobolev-Type Embedding
We study a convergence result of Bourgain--Brezis--Mironescu (BBM) using Triebel-Lizorkin spaces. It is well known that as spaces $W^{s,p} = F^{s}_{p,p}$, and $H^{1,p} = F^{1}_{p,2}$. When $s\to 1$, the $F^{s}_{p,p}$ norm becomes the $F^{1}_{p,p}$ norm but BBM showed that the $W^{s,p}$ norm becomes the $H^{1,p} = F^{1}_{p,2}$ norm. Naively, for $p \neq 2$ this seems like a contradiction, but we resolve this by providing embeddings of $W^{s,p}$ into $F^{s}_{p,q}$ for $q \in \{p,2\}$ with sharp constants with respect to $s \in (0,1)$. As a consequence we obtain an $\mathbb{R}^N$-version of the B…
Matrix-Weighted Besov-Type and Triebel--Lizorkin-Type Spaces III: Characterizations of Molecules and Wavelets, Trace Theorems, and Boundedness of Pseudo-Differential Operators and Calderón--Zygmund Operators
The main result of this paper is an intersection representation for a class of anisotropic vector-valued function spaces in an axiomatic setting à la Hedberg$\&$Netrusov, which includes weighted anisotropic mixed-norm Besov and Lizorkin-Triebel spaces. In the special case of the classical Lizorkin-Triebel spaces, the intersection representation gives an improvement of the well-known Fubini property. The main result has applications in the weighted $L_{q}$-$L_{p}$-maximal regularity problem for parabolic boundary value problems, where weighted anisotropic mixed-norm Lizorkin-Triebel spaces occu…
In order to provide a local description of a regular function in a small neighbourhood of a point $x$, it is sufficient by Taylor's theorem to know the value of the function as well as all of its derivatives up to the required order at the point $x$ itself. In other words, one could say that a regular function is locally modelled by the set of polynomials. The theory of regularity structures due to Hairer generalizes this observation and provides an abstract setup, which in the application of singular SPDE extends the set of polynomials by functionals constructed from, e.g., white noise. In th…
