Recently we introduced T-duality in the study of topological insulators, and used it to show that T-duality trivialises the bulk-boundary correspondence in 2 dimensions. In this paper, we partially generalise these results to higher dimensions and briefly discuss the 4D quantum Hall effect.
Recently we introduced T-duality in the study of topological insulators. In this paper, we study the bulk-boundary correspondence for three phenomena in condensed matter physics, namely, the quantum Hall effect, the Chern insulator, and time reversal invariant topological insulators. In all of these cases, we show that T-duality trivializes the bulk-boundary correspondence.
We state and prove a general result establishing that T-duality simplifies the bulk-boundary correspondence, in the sense of converting it to a simple geometric restriction map. This settles in the affirmative several earlier conjectures of the authors, and provides a clear geometric picture of the correspondence. In particular, our result holds in arbitrary spatial dimension, in both the real and complex cases, and also in the presence of disorder, magnetic fields, and H-flux. These special cases are relevant both to String Theory and to the study of the quantum Hall effect and topological in…
We study five dimensional AGT correspondence by means of the q-deformed beta-ensemble technique. We provide a special basis of states in the q-deformed CFT Hilbert space consisting of generalized Macdonald polynomials, derive the loop equations for the beta-ensemble and obtain the factorization formulas for the corresponding matrix elements. We prove the spectral duality for Nekrasov functions and discuss its meaning for conformal blocks. We also clarify the relation between topological strings and q-Liouville vertex operators.
We state a general conjecture that T-duality trivialises a model for the bulk-boundary correspondence in the parametrised context. We give evidence that it is valid by proving it in a special interesting case, which is relevant both to String Theory and to the study of topological insulators with defects in Condensed Matter Physics.
We provide a pedagogical introduction to the theory of principal 2-bundles with adjusted connections and show how they enter the description of geometric and non-geometric T-dualities as proposed in arXiv:2204.01783. This description combines the torus fibrations as well as the gerbe containing the Kalb-Ramond $B$-field into a single geometric object, a particular case of a non-abelian gerbe. The $B$-field and the metric are encoded in the connection of this categorified principal bundle, and a T-duality is described as a particular span or correspondence of such bundles. The formalism is mani…
The Gauge/YBE correspondence states a surprising connection between solutions to the Yang-Baxter equation with spectral parameters and partition functions of supersymmetric quiver gauge theories. This correspondence has lead to systematic discoveries of new integrable models based on quantum-field-theory methods. We provide pedagogical introduction to the subject and summarizes many recent developments. This is a write-up of the lecture at the String-Math 2018 conference.
We show a physical realization of the Langlands duality in correlation functions of H_3^+ WZNW model. We derive a dual version of the Stoyanovky-Riabult-Teschner (SRT) formula that relates the correlation function of the H_3^+ WZNW and the dual Liouville theory to investigate the level duality k-2 \to (k-2)^{-1} in the WZNW correlation functions. Then, we show that such a dual version of the H_3^+ - Liouville relation can be interpreted as a particular case of a biparametric family of non-rational CFTs based on the Liouville correlation functions, which was recently proposed by Ribault. We stu…
The $D$-brane spectra in the Type IIB string theory compactified on $AdS_{p+2}\times S^{8-p}$ are computed using the K-theory approach. The results signal the existence of the mirror-symmetry-analogue for $D$-branes, analogous to that rised in the context of derived categories.
A special case of the geometric Langlands correspondence is given by the relationship between solutions of the Bethe ansatz equations for the Gaudin model and opers - connections on the projective line with extra structure. In this paper, we describe a deformation of this correspondence for $SL(N)$. We introduce a difference equation version of opers called $q$-opers and prove a $q$-Langlands correspondence between nondegenerate solutions of the Bethe ansatz equations for the XXZ model and nondegenerate twisted $q$-opers with regular singularities on the projective line. We show that the quant…
We revisit the notion of particle-vortex duality in abelian theories of complex scalar fields coupled to gauge fields, formulating the duality as a transformation at the level of the path integral. This transformation is then made symmetric and cast as a self-duality that maps the original theory into itself with the role of particles and vortices interchanged. After defining the transformation for a pure Chern-Simons gauge theory, we show how to embed it into (a sector of) the $(2+1)-$dimensional ABJM model, and argue that this duality can be understood as being related to 4-dimensional Maxwe…
We describe a categorical framework for the classification of D-branes on noncommutative spaces using techniques from bivariant K-theory of C*-algebras. We present a new description of bivariant K-theory in terms of noncommutative correspondences which is nicely adapted to the study of T-duality in open string theory. We systematically use the diagram calculus for bivariant K-theory as detailed in our previous paper. We explicitly work out our theory for a number of examples of noncommutative manifolds.
We describe topological T-duality and Poisson-Lie T-duality in terms of QP (differential graded symplectic) manifolds and their canonical transformations. Duality is mediated by a QP-manifold on doubled non-abelian "correspondence" space, from which we can perform mutually dual symplectic reductions, where certain canonical transformations play a vital role. In the presence of spectator coordinates, we show how the introduction of "bibundle" structure on correspondence space realises changes in the global fibration structure under Poisson-Lie duality. Our approach can be directly translated to…
We study various duality webs involving the 3d FT[SU(N)] theory, a close relative of the T[SU(N)] quiver tail. We first map the partition functions of FT[SU(N)] and its 3d spectral dual to a pair of spectral dual q-Toda conformal blocks. Then we show how to obtain the FT[SU(N)] partition function by Higgsing a 5d linear quiver gauge theory, or equivalently from the refined topological string partition function on a certain toric Calabi-Yau three-fold. 3d spectral duality in this context descends from 5d spectral duality. Finally we discuss the 2d reduction of the 3d spectral dual pair and stud…
General Relativity can be formulated in terms of a spatially Weyl invariant gauge theory called Shape Dynamics. Using this formulation, we establish a "bulk/bulk" duality between gravity and a Weyl invariant theory on spacelike Cauchy hypersurfaces. This duality has two immediate consequences: i) it leads trivially to a corresponding "bulk/boundary" duality between General Relativity and a boundary CFT, and ii) the boundary can be defined in a gauge-invariant way. Moreover, the corresponding bulk/boundary duality is sufficient to explain a large portion of the evidence in favor of gauge/gravit…
In this article we review the conditions for the validity of the gauge/gravity correspondence in both supersymmetric and non-supersymmetric string models. We start by reminding what happens in type IIB theory on the orbifolds C^2/Z_2 and C^3/(Z_2 x Z_2), where this correspondence beautifully works. In these cases, by performing a complete stringy calculation of the interaction among D3 branes, it has been shown that the fact that this correspondence works is a consequence of the open/closed duality and of the absence of threshold corrections. Then we review the construction of type 0 theories …
The AdS/CFT correspondence is an exact duality between string theory in anti-de Sitter space and conformal field theories on its boundary. Inspired in this correspondence some relations between strings and non conformal field theories have been found. Exact dualities in the non conformal case are intricate but approximations can reproduce important physical results. A simple approximation consists in taking just a slice of the AdS space with a size related to an energy scale. Here we will discuss how this approach can be used to reproduce the scaling of high energy QCD scattering amplitudes. A…
We examine a strong/weak duality between a Heisenberg coset of a theory with $\mathfrak{sl}_n$ subregular $\mathcal{W}$-algebra symmetry and a theory with a $\mathfrak{sl}_{n|1}$-structure. In a previous work, two of the current authors provided a path integral derivation of correlator correspondences for a series of generalized Fateev-Zamolodchikov-Zamolodchikov (FZZ-)duality. In this paper, we derive correlator correspondences in a similar way but for a different series of generalized duality. This work is a part of the project to realize the duality of corner vertex operator algebras propos…
We consider non-Abelian T-duality on N=1 supergravity backgrounds possessing well understood field theory duals. For the case of D3-branes at the tip of the conifold, we dualise along an SU(2) isometry. The result is a type-IIA geometry whose lift to M-theory is of the type recently proposed by Bah et. al. as the dual to certain N=1 SCFT quivers produced by M5-branes wrapping a Riemann surface. In the non-conformal cases we find smooth duals in massive IIA supergravity with a Romans mass naturally quantised. We initiate the interpretation of these geometries in the context of the AdS/CFT corre…
In this paper the duality correspondence between fermion-antifermion and difermion interaction channels is established in two (2+1)-dimensional Gross-Neveu type models with a fermion number chemical potential $μ$ and a chiral chemical potential $μ_5$. The role and influence of this property on the phase structure of the models are investigated. In particular, it is shown that the chemical potential $μ_5$ promotes the appearance of dynamical chiral symmetry breaking, whereas the chemical potential $μ$ contributes to the emergence of superconductivity.
D-instanton effects are studied for the IIB orientifold T^2/IΩ(-1)^{F_L} of Sen using type I/heterotic duality. An exact one loop threshold calculation of t_8 \tr F^4 and t_8(\tr F^2)^2 terms for the heterotic string on T^2 with Wilson lines breaking SO(32) to SO(8)^4 is related to D-instanton induced terms in the worldvolume of D7 branes in the orientifold. Introducing D3 branes and using the AdS/CFT correspondence in this case, these terms are used to calculate Yang-Mills instanton contributions to four point functions of the large N_c limit of N=2 USp(2N_c) SYM with four fundamental and one…
We explore an identity between two branching graphs and propose a physical meaning in the context of the gauge-gravity correspondence. From the mathematical point of view, the identity equates probabilities associated with $\mathbb{GT}$, the branching graph of the unitary groups, with probabilities associated with $\mathbb{Y}$, the branching graph of the symmetric groups. In order to furnish the identity with physical meaning, we exactly reproduce these probabilities as the square of three point functions involving certain hook-shaped backgrounds. We study these backgrounds in the context of L…
Integrable models of statistical mechanics play a prominent role in modern mathematical physics, especially in conformal field theory, knot theory, combinatorics, topology, etc. In this brief review, we discuss a program of constructing integrable lattice spin models with the nearest neighbor interaction using methods inspired by the supersymmetric gauge theory computations, called gauge/YBE correspondence. After a brief introduction to the topic, we review some recent examples of this correspondence and the role of special functions and symmetries. Finally, we discuss future directions of res…
We propose a Nekrasov-type formula for the instanton partition functions of four-dimensional N=2 U(2) gauge theories coupled to (A_1,D_{2n}) Argyres-Douglas theories. This is carried out by extending the generalized AGT correspondence to the case of U(2) gauge group, which requires us to define irregular states of the direct sum of Virasoro and Heisenberg algebras. Using our formula, one can evaluate the contribution of the (A_1,D_{2n}) theory at each fixed point on the U(2) instanton moduli space. As an application, we evaluate the instanton partition function of the (A_3,A_3) theory to find …
A holographic duality is proposed between black hole evaporation in the bulk and hadronization (confinement) in dual field theory. Information paradox is discussed in this duality. We also propose that the recently introduced semi black brane solution is holographically dual to a mixed plasma of quarks, gluons and hadrons in global equilibrium.
We explore dualities and solution-generating transformations in various contexts. Our focus is on the T-duality invariant form of supergravity known as double field theory, the $SL(5)$-invariant M-theory extended geometry, and metrics dual under the fluid/gravity correspondence to an incompressible Navier-Stokes fluid. In double field theory (DFT), a wave solution is shown to embed both the F1 string and the pp-wave. For the former, the Goldstone mode dynamics reproduce the duality symmetric string introduced by Tseytlin. We consider solution-generating techniques in DFT in the presence of an …
Bohlin-Arnold-Vassiliev's duality transformation establishes a correspondence between motions in different central potentials. It offers a very direct way to construct the dynamical conserved quantities associated to the isotropic harmonic oscillator (Fradkin-Jauch-Hill tensor) and to the Kepler's problem (Laplace-Runge-Lenz vector).
V. Drinfeld proposed conjectures on geometric Langlands correspondence and its quantum deformation. We refine these conjectures and propose their relationship with algebraic conformal field theory.
We investigate the possibility of spatially homogeneous and inhomogeneous chiral fermion-antifermion condensation and superconducting fermion-fermion pairing in the (1+1)-dimensional model by Chodos {\it et al.} [ Phys. Rev. D 61, 045011 (2000)] generalized to continuous chiral invariance. The consideration is performed at nonzero values of temperature $T$, electric charge chemical potential $μ$ and chiral charge chemical potential $μ_5$. It is shown that at $G_1<G_2$, where $G_1$ and $G_2$ are the coupling constants in the fermion-antifermion and fermion-fermion channels, the $(μ,μ_5)$-phase …
Topological defects attract much recent interest in high-energy and condensed matter physics because they encode (non-invertible) symmetries and dualities. We study codimension-1 topological defects from a hamiltonian point of view, with the defect location playing the role of `time'. We show that the Weinstein symplectic category governs topological defects and their fusion: each defect is a lagrangian correspondence, and defect fusion is their geometric composition. We illustrate the utility of these ideas by constructing S- and T-duality defects in string theory, including a novel topology-…
We compute the annulus diagram corresponding to the interaction of a fractional D3 brane with a gauge field on its world-volume and a stack of N fractional D3 branes on the orbifolds C^2 /Z_2 and C^3/Z_2 x Z_2. We show that its logarithmic divergence can be equivalently understood as due either to massless open string states circulating in the loop or to massless closed string states exchanged between two boundary states. This follows from the fact that, under open/closed string duality, massless states in the open and closed string channels are matched into each other without mixing with mass…
This is the 12th article in the collection of reviews "Exact results on N=2 supersymmetric gauge theories" ed. J. Teschner. This article describes one way to understand an important part of the AGT-correspondence in terms of a triality between four-dimensional gauge theory, the two-dimensional theory of its vortices, and conformal field theory. This triality is related to, and inspired by known large $N$ dualities of the topological string. It leads to a proof of some cases of the AGT-correspondence, and most importantly, of a generalisation of this correspondence to certain five-dimensional g…
The Quark-Gluon Plasma (QGP) is the QCD phase of matter expected to be formed at small proper-times in the collision of heavy-ions at high energy. Experimental observations seem to favor a strongly coupled QCD plasma with the hydrodynamic properties of a quasi-perfect fluid, i.e. rapid thermalization (or isotropization) and small viscosity. The theoretical investigation of such properties is not obvious, due to the the strong coupling. The Gauge/Gravity correspondence provides a stimulating framework to explore the strong coupling regime of gauge theories using the dual string description. Aft…
We demonstrate that Kerr-CFT duality can be extended to super-entropic black holes, which have non-compact horizons with finite area. We demonstrate that this duality is robust insofar as the ultra-spinning limit of a Kerr-AdS black hole (which yields the super-entropic class)commutes with the near-horizon limit (which yields the Kerr-CFT duality). Consequently the Bekeinstein-Hawking and the CFT entropies are equivalent. We show that the duality holds for both singly-spinning super-entropic black holes in 4 dimensions and for doubly-spinning super-entropic black holes of gauged supergravity i…
We introduce a class of new integrable lattice models labeled by a pair of positive integers N and r. The integrable model is obtained from the Gauge/YBE correspondence, which states the equivalence of the 4d N=1 S^1 \times S^3/Z_r index of a large class of SU(N) quiver gauge theories with the partition function of 2d classical integrable spin models. The integrability of the model (star-star relation) is equivalent with the invariance of the index under the Seiberg duality. Our solution to the Yang-Baxter equation is one of the most general known in the literature, and reproduces a number of …
These are notes based on a series of lectures given at the KITP workshop "Quantum Criticality and the AdS/CFT Correspondence" in July, 2009. The goal of the lectures was to introduce condensed matter physicists to the AdS/CFT correspondence. Discussion of string theory and of supersymmetry is avoided to the extent possible.
We construct an N=1 superconformal field theory using branes of type IIA string theory. The IIA construction is related via T-duality to a IIB configuration with 3-branes in a background generated by two intersecting O7-planes and 7-branes. The IIB background can be viewed as a local piece of an F-theory compactification previously studied by Sen in connection with the Gimon-Polchinski orientifold. We discuss the deformations of the IIA and IIB constructions and describe a new supersymmetric configuration with curving D6-branes. Starting from the IIB description we find the supergravity dual o…
The area law of Bekenstein-Hawking entropy of the black hole suggests that the black hole should have a lower-dimensional holographic description. It has been found recently that such holographic pictures could be set up from the study of the thermodynamics of both outer and inner horizons for a large class of rotating and charged black holes. For a four-dimensional dyonic Reissner-Nordström black hole, its thermodynamics indicates that it has multiple holographic pictures not only the electric and magnetic ones corresponding to the conserved electric and magnetic charges carried by the black …
We discuss the AdS/CFT correspondence in which space-time emerges from an interacting theory of D-branes and open strings. These ideas have a historical continuity with QCD which is an interacting theory of quarks and gluons. In particular we review the classic case of D3 branes and the non-conformal D1 brane system. We outline by some illustrative examples the calculations that are enabled in a strongly coupled gauge theory by correspondence with dynamical horizons in semi-classical gravity in one higher dimension. We also discuss implications of the gauge-fluid/gravity correspondence for the…
The PP-wave/SYM proposal in its original form emphasizes a duality relation between the masses of the string states and the anomalous dimensions of the corresponding BMN operators in gauge theory, the mass--dimension type duality. In this paper, we give evidence in favour of another duality relation of the vertex--correlator type, which relates the coefficients of 3-point correlators of BMN operators in gauge theory to 3-string vertices in lightcone string field theory in the pp-wave background. We verify that all the available field theory results in the literature, as well as the newly obtai…
The well-known duality between quasinormal modes of any stationary, spherically symmetric and asymptotically flat or de Sitter black hole and parameters of the circular null geodesic was initially claimed for gravitational and test field perturbations. According to this duality the real and imaginary parts of the $\ell \gg n$ quasinormal mode (where $\ell$ and $n$ are multipole and overtone numbers respectively) are multiples of the frequency and instability timescale of the circular null geodesics respectively. Later it was shown that the duality is guaranteed only for test fields and may be …
We review various aspects of representation theory of affine algebras at the critical level, geometric Langlands correspondence, and Bethe ansatz in the Gaudin models. Geometric Langlands correspondence relates D-modules on the moduli space of G-bundles on a complex curve X and flat G^L-bundles on X. Beilinson and Drinfeld construct it by applying a localization functor to representations of affine algebras of critical level. We show that in genus zero the corresponding D-modules are closely related to the diagonalization problem in the Gaudin model associated to G. This allows us to give a ne…
It was recently shown, using the AdS/CFT correspondence, that the low energy effective action of a large $N$ open string theory satisfies a holographic RG flow equation closely related to the Hamilton-Jacobi equation of 5-d supergravity. In this paper we re-obtain the same flow equation in the dual regime of small 't Hooft coupling $λ\ll 1$. Our derivation makes use of the conformal equivalence between planar open string diagrams and closed string tree diagrams. This equivalence can be viewed as a microscopic explanation of the open/closed string duality that underlies the AdS/CFT corresponden…
We introduce the notion of crystallographic T-duality, inspired by the appearance of $K$-theory with graded equivariant twists in the study of topological crystalline materials. Besides giving a range of new topological T-dualities, it also unifies many previously known dualities, motivates generalisations of the Baum-Connes conjecture to graded groups, provides a powerful tool for computing topological phase classification groups, and facilitates the understanding of crystallographic bulk-boundary correspondences in physics.
We further explore the implications of our framework in [arXiv:1301.1977, arXiv:1309.4775], and physically derive, from the principle that the spacetime BPS spectra of string-dual M-theory compactifications ought to be equivalent, (i) a 5d AGT correspondence for any compact Lie group, (ii) a 5d and 6d AGT correspondence on ALE space of type ADE, and (iii) identities between the ordinary, q-deformed and elliptic affine W-algebras associated with the 4d, 5d and 6d AGT correspondence, respectively, which also define a quantum geometric Langlands duality and its higher analogs formulated by Feigin…
We consider the generalization of the S-duality transformation previously investigated in the context of the FQHE and s-wave superconductivity to p-wave superconductivity in 2+1 dimensions in the framework of the AdS/CFT correspondence. The vector Cooper condensate transforms under the S-duality action to the pseudovector condensate at the dual side. The 3+1-dimensional Einstein-Yang-Mills theory, the holographic dual to p-wave superconductivity, is used to investigate the S-duality action via the AdS/CFT correspondence. It is shown that in order to implement the duality transformation, chemic…
We study a conjectured correspondence between any codimension two convex surface and a quantum state (SS-duality for short). By generalizing thermofield double formalism to continuum version of the multi-scale entanglement renormalization ansatz (cMERA) and using the SS-duality, we show that thermal geometries naturally emerge as a result of hidden quantum entanglement between boundary CFTs. We therefore propose a general framework to emerge the thermal geometry from CFT at finite temperature. As an example, the case of $2d$ CFT is considered. We calculate its information metric and show that …
We point out that the recent discussion of non-relativistic AdS/CFT correspondence has a direct application in non-equilibrium statistical physics, the fact which has not been emphasized in the recent literature on the subject. In particular, we propose a duality between aging in systems far from equilibrium characterized by the dynamical exponent $z=2$ and gravity in a specific background. The key ingredient in our proposal is the recent geometric realization of the Schrödinger group. We also discuss the relevance of the proposed correspondence for the more general aging phenomena in systems …
A geometric torsion (GT) underlying a $2$-form in a $(4$$+$$1)$-dimensional $U(1)$ gauge theory is revisited with a renewed perspective for a non-perturbation (NP) gravity in $d$$=$$4$. In the context we provide evidences to a holographic correspondence between a bulk GT and a boundary NP gravity. Interestingly the Killing symmetries in General Relativity (GR) are shown to provide a subtle clue to the quantum gravity. The NP gravity is shown to incorporate a $(B_{2}$$ \wedge $$F_{2})$ coupling, sourced by a non-Newtonian potential, to an exact geometry in GR. Remarkably the NP correction is id…
We discuss the interpaly between IR and UV divergences in theories with open and unoriented strings in view of the AdS/CFT correspondence. We start by deriving general formulas for the computation of threshold corrections to gauge couplings in generic configurations with open and unoriented strings. These allow us to discuss the IR/UV correspondence between beta-function coefficients and ``dilaton'' tadpoles for several brane configurations probed by D3-branes. Finally we comment on the AdS supergravity descriptions of gauge theories that are (super)conformal in the large N limit.
Using the recently developed soldering formalism we highlight certain features of quantum mechanical models. The complete correspondence between these models and self dual field theoretical models in odd dimensions is established. The distinction between self duality and self dual factorisation in these dimensions is clarified.
We find a correspondence between semiclassical gauge theories quantized on the light-front and a dual gravity model in anti-de Sitter (AdS) space, thus providing an initial approximation to QCD in its strongly coupled regime. This correspondence -- light-front holography -- leads to a light-front Hamiltonian and relativistic bound-state wave equations in terms of an invariant impact variable $ζ$ which measures the separation of the quark and gluonic constituents within the hadron at equal light-front time. Light-front holography also allows a precise mapping of transition amplitudes from AdS t…
Gopakumar-Vafa large N duality is a correspondence between Chern-Simons invariants of a link in a 3-manifold and relative Gromov-Witten invariants of a 6-dimensional symplectic manifold relative to a Lagrangian submanifold. We address the correspondence between the Chern-Simons free energy of S^3 with no link and the Gromov-Witten invariant of the resolved conifold in great detail. This case avoids mathematical difficulties in formulating a definition of relative Gromov-Witten invariants, but includes all of the important ideas. There is a vast amount of background material related to this dua…
We discuss the interplay between IR and UV divergences in vacuum configurations with open and unoriented strings. We establish a general one-to-one correspondence between anomalies and R-R tadpoles associated to sectors with non-trivial Witten index. The result does not require any supersymmetry to be preserved by the configuration. Under very mild conditions of supersymmetry, a similar correspondence is found between NS-NS tadpoles and RG-flows in gauge theories on D-branes and O-planes. We briefly comment on the AdS/CFT counterpart of the results.
Kaluza-Klein gravity is revisted, with renewed interest, in a type IIB string theory on $S^1\times K3$. The irreducible curvature tensors are worked out in the, T-dual, emergent gravity in 4D to yield a non-linear U(1) gauge theory. Interestingly, the T-duality may be seen to describe an open/closed string duality at a self-dual string coupling. The obtained deformation in $AdS_5$ black hole is analyzed to introduce the notion of temperature in the emergent gravity underlying the recent idea of entropic force.
A twistor correspondence for the self-duality equations for supersymmetric Yang-Mills theories is developed. Their solutions are shown to be encoded in analytic harmonic superfields satisfying appropriate generalised Cauchy-Riemann conditions. An action principle yielding these conditions is presented.
We formulate a correspondence between non-relativistic conformal field theories (NRCFTs) in d-1 spatial dimensions and gravitational theories in AdS_{d+2} backgrounds with one compactified lightlike direction. The breaking of the maximal SO(2,d+1) symmetry of AdS_{d+2} to the non-relativistic conformal group arises from boundary conditions on bulk fields, without the need to introduce non-vacuum sources of energy-momentum. As a check of the proposal, we use the gravitational theory to reproduce the NRCFT state-operator correspondence between scaling dimensions of primary operators and energy e…
Recently a significant progress in matching the anomalous dimensions of certain class of operators in N=4 SYM theory and rotating strings was made. The correspondence was established mainly using Bethe ansatz technique applied to the spin s Heisenberg model. In a recent paper Kruczenski (hep-th/0311203) suggested to solve the Heisenberg model by using of sigme model approach. In this paper we generalize the solutions obtained by Kruczenski and comment on the dual string theory. It turns out that our solutions are related to the so called Neumann-Rosochatius integrable system. We comment on the…
