The class of support $τ$-tilting modules was introduced to provide a completion of the class of tilting modules from the point of view of mutations. In this article we study $τ$-tilting finite algebras, i.e. finite dimensional algebras $A$ with finitely many isomorphism classes of indecomposable $τ$-rigid modules. We show that $A$ is $τ$-tilting finite if and only if very torsion class in $\mod A$ is functorially finite. We observe that cones generated by $g$-vectors of indecomposable direct summands of each support $τ$-tilting module form a simplicial complex $Δ(A)$. We show that if $A$ is $τ$-tilting finite, then $Δ(A)$ is homeomorphic to an $(n-1)$-dimensional sphere, and moreover the partial order on support $τ$-tilting modules can be recovered from the geometry of $Δ(A)$. Finally we give a bijection between indecomposable $τ$-rigid $A$-modules and bricks of $A$ satisfying a certain finiteness condition, which is automatic for $τ$-tilting finite algebras.
We show that a gentle algebra over a field is $τ$-tilting finite if and only if it is representation-finite. The proof relies on the "brick-$τ$-tilting correspondence" of Demonet-Iyama-Jasso and on a combinatorial analysis.
Motivated by a new conjecture on the behavior of bricks, we start a systematic study of minimal $τ$-tilting infinite algebras. In particular, we treat minimal $τ$-tilting infinite algebras as a modern counterpart of minimal representation infinite algebras and show some of the fundamental similarities and differences between these families. We then relate our studies to the classical tilting theory and observe that this modern approach can provide fresh impetus to the study of some old problems. We further show that in order to verify the conjecture it is sufficient to treat those minimal $τ$-…
In this paper we treat the $τ$-tilting finiteness of biserial (respectively special biserial) algebras over algebraically closed (respectively arbitrary) fields. Inside these families, to compare the notions of representation-finiteness and $τ$-tilting finiteness, we reduce the problem to the $τ$-tilting finiteness of minimal representation-infinite (special) biserial algebras. Building upon the classification of minimal representation-infinite algebras, we fully determine which minimal representation-infinite (special) biserial algebras are $τ$-tilting finite and which ones are not. To do so,…
In this paper, motivated by a $τ$-tilting version of the Brauer-Thrall Conjectures, we study general properties of band modules and their endomorphisms in the module category of a finite dimensional algebra. As an application we describe properties of torsion classes containing band modules. Furthermore, we show that a special biserial algebra is $τ$-tilting finite if and only if no band module is a brick. We also recover a criterion for the $τ$-tilting finiteness of Brauer graph algebras in terms of the Brauer graph.
We show that $τ$-tilting finite simply connected algebras are representation-finite. Then, some related algebras are considered, including iterated tilted algebras, tubular algebras and so on. We also prove that the $τ$-tilting finiteness of non-sincere algebras can be reduced to that of sincere algebras. This motivates us to give a complete list of $τ$-tilting finite sincere simply connected algebras.
Let $Λ$ be a hereditary algebra, $B_0=End_Λ(T_0)$ be a tilted algebra. We will construct tilting $B_0$-modules from tilting $Λ$-modules and use this result to show how tilting quivers of BB-tilted algebras can be obtained from those of $Λ$
We give a characterization of $n$-cluster tilting subcategories of representation-directed algebras based on the $n$-Auslander-Reiten translations. As an application we classify acyclic Nakayama algebras with homogeneous relations which admit an $n$-cluster tilting subcategory. Finally, we classify Nakayama algebras of global dimension $d<\infty$ which admit a $d$-cluster tilting subcategory.
As the first attempt to classify $τ$-tilting finite two-point algebras, we have determined the $τ$-tilting finiteness for minimal wild two-point algebras and some tame two-point algebras.
If A is a finite-dimensional symmetric algebra, then it is well-known that the only silting complexes in $\mathrm{K^b}(\mathrm{proj}A)$ are the tilting complexes. In this note we investigate to what extent the same can be said for weakly symmetric algebras. On one hand, we show that this holds for all tilting-discrete weakly symmetric algebras. In particular, a tilting-discrete weakly symmetric algebra is also silting-discrete. On the other hand, we also construct an example of a weakly symmetric algebra with silting complexes that are not tilting.
We determined the $τ$-tilting finiteness of Schur algebras over an algebraically closed field of arbitrary characteristic, except for a few small cases.
In this paper, we introduce the notion of $ν$-stable silting-discrete algebras, which unify silting-discrete algebras and tilting-discrete self-injective algebras, where $ν$ is a triangle auto-equivalence of the bounded homotopy category of finitely generated projective modules. Moreover, we give an example of tilting-discrete self-injective algebras which are not silting-discrete.
Using only the combinatorics of its defining ribbon graph, we classify the two-term tilting complexes, as well as their indecomposable summands, of a Brauer graph algebra. As an application, we determine precisely the class of Brauer graph algebras which are tilting-discrete.
We study the stable category of the factor algebra of the preprojective algebra associated with an element $w$ of the Coxeter group of a quiver. We show that there exists a silting object $M(\bf{w})$ of this category associated with each reduced expression $\bf{w}$ of $w$ and give a sufficient condition on $\bf{w}$ such that $M(\bf{w})$ is a tilting object. In particular, the stable category is triangle equivalent to the derived category of the endomorphism algebra of $M(\bf{w})$. Moreover, we compare it with a triangle equivalence given by Amiot-Reiten-Todorov for a cluster category.
Non-singular weighted surface algebras satisfy the necessary condition found in [6] for existence of cluster tilting modules. We show that any such algebra whose Gabriel quiver is bipartite, has a module satisfying the necessary ext vanishing condition. We show that it is 3-cluster tilting precisely for the non-singular triangular or spherical algebras but not for any other weighted surface algebra with bipartite Gabriel quiver.
In this paper, we compute the number of two-term tilting complexes for an arbitrary symmetric algebra with radical cube zero over an algebraically closed field. Firstly, we give a complete list of symmetric algebras with radical cube zero having only finitely many isomorphism classes of two-term tilting complexes in terms of their associated graphs. Secondly, we enumerate the number of two-term tilting complexes for each case in the list.
For any given symmetrizable Cartan matrix $C$ with a symmetrizer $D$, Geiß~ et al. (2016) introduced a generalized preprojective algebra $Π(C, D)$. We study tilting modules and support $τ$-tilting modules for the generalized preprojective algebra $Π(C, D)$ and show that there is a bijection between the set of all cofinite tilting ideals of $Π(C,D)$ and the corresponding Weyl group $W(C)$ provided that $C$ has no component of Dynkin type. When $C$ is of Dynkin type, we also establish a bijection between the set of all basic support $τ$-tilting $Π(C,D)$-modules and the corresponding Weyl group $…
In this paper, we investigate the relative dominant dimension with respect to an injective module and characterize the algebras with finite relative dominant dimension. As an application, we introduce the almost n-precluster tilting module and establish a correspondence between almost n-precluster tilting modules and almost n-minimal Auslander-Gorenstein algebras. Moreover, we give a description of the Gorenstein projective modules over almost n-minimal Auslander-Gorenstein algebras in terms of the corresponding almost n-precluster tilting modules.
The blob algebra is a finite-dimensional quotient of the Hecke algebra of type $B$ which is almost always quasi-hereditary. We construct the indecomposable tilting modules for the blob algebra over a field of characteristic $0$ in the doubly critical case. Every indecomposable tilting module of maximal highest weight is either a projective module or an extension of a simple module by a projective module. Moreover, every indecomposable tilting module is a submodule of an indecomposable tilting module of maximal highest weight. We conclude that the graded Weyl multiplicities of the indecomposabl…
We find a relationship between the global dimension of an algebra $A$ and the global dimension of the endomorphism algebra of a $τ$-tilting module, when $A$ is of finite global dimension. We show that, in general, the global dimension of the endomorphism algebra is not always finite. For monomial algebras and special biserial algebras of global dimension two, we prove that the global dimension of the endomorphism algebra of any $τ$-tilting module is always finite. Moreover, for special biserial algebras, we give an explicit bound.
Comparing the bounded derived categories of an algebra and of the endomorphism algebra of a given support τ-tilting module, we find a relation between the derived dimensions of an algebra and of the endomorphism algebra of a given τ-tilting module.
We provide a classification of generalized tilting modules and full exceptional sequences for the dual extension algebra of the path algebra of a uniformly oriented linear quiver modulo the ideal generated by paths of length two with its opposite algebra. For the classification of generalized tilting modules we develop a combinatorial model for the poset of indecomposable self-orthogonal modules with standard filtration with respect to the relation arising from higher extensions.
$n\mathbb{Z}$-cluster tilting subcategories are an ideal setting for higher dimensional Auslander-Reiten theory. We give a complete classification of $n\mathbb{Z}$-cluster tilting subcategories of module categories of Nakayama algebras. In particular, we show that there are three kinds of Nakayama algebras that admit $n\mathbb{Z}$-cluster tilting subcategories: finite global dimension, selfinjective and non-Iwanaga-Gorenstein. Only the selfinjective ones can admit more than one $n\mathbb{Z}$-cluster tilting subcategory. It has been shown by the second author, that each such $n\mathbb{Z}$-clust…
Comparing the module categories of an algebra and of the endomorphism algebra of a given support $τ$-tilting module, we give a generalization of the Brenner-Butler's tilting theorem in the framework of $τ$-tilting theory. Afterwards we define $τ$-slices and prove that complete slices of tilted algebras and local slices of cluster tilted algebras are examples of complete $τ$-slices. Then we apply this concept to the study of simply connected tilted algebras. Finally, we study the one-point extensions and the split-by-nilpotent extensions of an algebra with $τ$-slices.
Let $Λ$ be a finite dimensional algebra such that $\mathcal{L}_Λ$ or $\mathcal{R}_Λ\neq\emptyset$. Then $Λ$ is $τ$-tilting finite if and only if $Λ$ is representation-finite.
