We show that Martin Olsson's compactification of moduli space of polarized abelian varieties in \cite{ols08} can be interpreted in terms of KSBA stable pairs. We find that there is a canonical set of divisors $S(K_2)$ associated with each cusp. Near the cusp, a polarized semiabelic scheme $(\mathcal{X}, G,\mathcal{L})$ is the canonical degeneration given by the compactification if and only if $(\mathcal{X},G,Θ)$ is an object in $\overline{\mathscr{AP}}_{g,d}$ for any $Θ\in S(K_2)$. Moreover, we give an alternative construction of the compactification by using mirror symmetry. We construct a toroidal compactification $\overline{\mathscr{A}}_{g,δ}^m$ that is isomorphic to Olsson's compactification over characteristic zero. The data needed for a toroidal compactification is a collection of fans. We obtain the collection of fans from the Mori fans of the minimal models of the mirror families.
We study the Baily-Borel compactification of a family of four-dimensional orthogonal modular varieties arising in connection with moduli and periods of compact hyperkähler manifolds of deformation generalised Kummer type. Our main results concern the classification of boundary components, their incidence relations and combinatorics.
This work is a PhD thesis. First we provide some general context on wonderful varieties and moduli spaces of rational curves. Working over complex numbers we prove that the moduli space of rational curves with no marked points on the wonderful compactification of a symmetric space is not irreducible in general. Lastly we show that in the case of wonderful group compactifications the set of rational curves with no marked points and irreducible source is irreducible.
A compactification of the moduli scheme of abelian varieties
We construct a compactification of the moduli of toric pairs by using ideas from mirror symmetry. The secondary fan $Σ(Q)$ is used in [Ale02] to parametrize degenerations of toric pairs. It is also used in [CLS11] to control the variation of GIT. We verify the prediction of mirror symmetry that $Σ(Q)$ for the moduli of toric pairs is equal to the Mori fan of the relative minimal models of the mirror family. As a result, we give an explicit construction of the compactification $\mathscr{T}_Q$ of the moduli of toric pairs which is the normalization of the compactification in [Ale02] and [Ols08].
We study torus-equivariant vector bundles $E$ on a complex projective variety $X$ which is either a Bott-Samelson-Demazure-Hansen variety or a wonderful compactification of a complex symmetric variety of minimal rank. We show that $E$ is nef (respectively, ample) if and only if its restriction to every torus--invariant curve in $X$ is nef (respectively, ample). We also compute the Seshadri constants $\varepsilon(E,x)$, where $x\, \in\, X$ is any point fixed by the action of a maximal torus.

We determine the behavior of automorphic Green functions along the boundary components of toroidal compactifications of orthogonal Shimura varieties. We use this analysis to define boundary components of special divisors and prove that the generating series of the resulting special divisors on a toroidal compactification is modular.
The moduli spaces of flat $\mathrm{SL}_2$- and $\mathrm{PGL}_2$-connections are known to be singular SYZ-mirror partners. We establish the equality of Hodge numbers of their intersection (stringy) cohomology. In rank two, this answers a question raised by Tamás Hausel in Remark 3.30 of "Global topology of the Hitchin system".
We introduce a superpotential for partial flag varieties of type $A$. This is a map $W: Y^\circ \to \mathbb{C}$, where $Y^\circ$ is the complement of an anticanonical divisor on a product of Grassmannians. The map $W$ is expressed in terms of Plücker coordinates of the Grassmannian factors. This construction generalizes the Marsh--Rietsch Plücker coordinate mirror for Grassmannians. We show that in a distinguished cluster chart for $Y$, our superpotential agrees with earlier mirrors constructed by Eguchi--Hori--Xiong and Batyrev--Ciocan-Fontanine--Kim--van Straten. Our main tool is quantum Sch…
We introduce a new version of 3d mirror symmetry for toric stacks, inspired by a 3d $\mathcal{N} = 2$ abelian mirror symmetry construction in physics. Given some toric data, we introduce the $K$-theoretic $I$-function with effective level structure for the associated toric stack. When a particular stability condition is chosen, it restricts to the $I$-function for the particular toric GIT quotient. The mirror of a toric stack is defined by the Gale dual of the original toric data. We then proved the mirror conjecture that the $I$-functions of a mirror pair coincide, under the mirror map, which…
In this expository note, we offer an overview of the relationship between Hodge-theoretic and geometric compactifications of moduli spaces of algebraic varieties.
In this article we explore compactifications of cluster varieties of finite type in complex dimension two. Cluster varieties can be viewed as the spec of a ring generated by theta functions and a compactification of such varieties can be given by a grading on that ring, which can be described by positive polytopes [17]. In the examples we exploit, the cluster variety can be interpreted as the complement of certain divisors in del Pezzo surfaces. In the symplectic viewpoint, they can be described via almost toric fibrations over $\R^2$ (after completion). Once identifying them as almost toric m…
Arithmetic compactifications of the Hilbert modular varieties and Hilbert modular forms for $Γ_1(c,n)$
我们构造了水平$Γ_1(\mathfrak{c},\mathfrak{n})$的Hilbert模簇的分歧尖点的局部图。这使得我们能够密切关注M。Rapoport和C.- L. Chai,构造这些模簇的算术环和极小紧化。给出了模形式的一些应用。请参阅我们与J. Tilouine的联合工作以了解其他应用。
We study the structure of string theory flux compactification for a general family of elliptic CY 3-folds. We investigate the locus of the attractor points of the flux compactification in type IIB string theory on the boundary components of period domains. Specifically we give equations describing this locus through the asymptotic of nilpotent orbits on period domains. our approach is a mixture of techniques of asymptotic Hodge theory and the numerical period vectors used in physics.
The presented paper is a continuation of the series of papers arXiv:1810.00606 and arXiv:1903.09373. In this paper, utilizing Batyrev and Borisov's duality construction on nef-partitions, we generalize the recipe in arXiv:1810.00606 and arXiv:1903.09373 to construct a pair of singular double cover Calabi--Yau varieties $(Y,Y^{\vee})$ over toric manifolds and compute their topological Euler characteristics and Hodge numbers. In the $3$-dimensional cases, we show that $(Y,Y^{\vee})$ forms a topological mirror pair, i.e., $h^{p,q}(Y)=h^{3-p,q}(Y^{\vee})$ for all $p,q$.
We study faithful actions with a dense orbit of abelian unipotent groups on quintic del Pezzo varieties over a field of characteristic zero. Such varieties are forms of linear sections of the Grassmannian of planes in a 5-dimensional vector space. We characterize which smooth forms admit these types of actions and show that in case of existence, the action is unique up to equivalence by automorphisms. We also give a similar classification for mildly singular quintic del Pezzo threefolds and surfaces.
We construct the fine moduli space of log abelian varieties with PEL structure, which gives a toroidal compactification of the moduli space of abelian varieties with PEL structure.
Given a flag variety $Fl(n;r_1, \dots , r_ρ)$, there is natural ring morphism from the symmetric polynomial ring in $r_1$ variables to the quantum cohomology of the flag variety. In this paper, we show that for a large class of partitions $λ$, the image of $s_λ$ under the ring homomorphism is a Schubert class which is described by partitioning $λ$ into a quantum hook (or $q$-hook) and a tuple of smaller partitions. We use this result to show that the Plücker coordinate mirror of the flag variety describes quantum cohomology relations. This gives new insight into the structure of this superpote…
For any degenerating Calabi-Yau family, we introduce new limit space which we call galaxy, whose dense subspace is the disjoint union of countably infinite open Calabi-Yau varieties, parametrized by the rational points of the Kontsevich-Soibelman's essential skeleton, while dominated by the Huber adification over the Puiseux series field. Other topics include: projective limits of toroidal compactifications, locally modelled on what we call the limit toric varieties, the way to attach tropicalized family to given Calabi-Yau family, which are weakly related to each other.
