The irreducible components of varieties parametrizing the finite dimensional representations of a finite dimensional algebra $Λ$ are explored, with regard to both their geometry and the structure of the modules they encode. Provided that the base field is algebraically closed and has infinite transcendence degree over its prime field, we establish the existence and uniqueness (not up to isomorphism, but in a strong sense to be specified) of a generic module for any irreducible component $\mathcal C$, that is, of a module which displays all categorically defined generic properties of the modules parametrized by $\mathcal C$; the crucial point of the existence statement - a priori almost obvious - lies in the description of such a module in a format accessible to representation-theoretic techniques. Our approach to generic modules over path algebras modulo relations, by way of minimal projective resolutions, is largely constructive. It is explicit for large classes of algebras of wild type. We follow with an investigation of the properties of such generic modules in terms of quiver and relations. The sharpest specific results on all fronts are obtained for truncated path algebras, that is, for path algebras of quivers modulo ideals generated by all paths of a fixed length; this class of algebras extends the comparatively thoroughly studied hereditary case, displaying many novel features.
The classical construction of representations of quivers enables us to consider linear maps between several vector spaces. The mixed representations of quivers helps us to work with linear maps as well as bilinear forms on several vector spaces. We construct a finite generating set for the T-ideal of identities of the polynomial invariants of mixed representations of a quiver.
Using linear algebraic methods we show that every (possibly infinite-dimensional) representation of a quiver with underlying graph $A_{\infty, \infty}$ is Krull-Schmidt, as long as the arrows in the quiver eventually point outward.
We consider a finite acyclic quiver $\mathcal{Q}$ and a quasi-Frobenius ring $R$. We endow the category of quiver representations over $R$ with a model structure, whose homotopy category is equivalent to the stable category of Gorenstein-projective modules over the path algebra $R\mathcal{Q}$. As an application, we then characterize Gorenstein-projective $R\mathcal{Q}$-modules in terms of the corresponding quiver $R$-representations; this generalizes a result obtained by Luo-Zhang to the case of not necessarily finitely generated $R\mathcal{Q}$-modules, and partially recover results due to Eno…
We have two parallel goals of this paper. First, we investigate and construct cofree coalgebras over $n$-representations of quivers, limits and colimits of $n$-representations of quivers, and limits and colimits of coalgebras in the monoidal categories of $n$-representations of quivers. Second, we introduce a generalization for quivers and show that this generalization can be seen as essentially the same as $n$-representations of quivers. This is significantly important because it allows us to build a new quiver $\mathscr{Q}_{\!_{(\Qq_1, \Qq_2,..., \Qq_n)}}$, called $n$-quiver, from any given …
Let $n \geq 2$. We introduce the notion of $n$-representations of quivers, and we explicitly provide concrete examples of $2$-representations of quivers. We establish the categories of $n$-representations and investigate kernels and cokernels in the categories of $n$-representations of quivers. Further, we construct them in terms of kernels and cokernels of morphisms in the usual categories of quiver representations. We show that every morphism in the categories of $n$-representations has a canonical decomposition. Most importantly, we prove that the categories of $n$-representations of quiver…
The cluster algebra of any acyclic quiver can be realized as the coordinate ring of a subvariety of a Kac-Moody group -- the quiver is an orientation of its Dynkin diagram, defining a Coxeter element and thereby a double Bruhat cell. We use this realization to connect representations of the quiver with those of the group. We show that cluster variables of preprojective (resp. postinjective) quiver representations are realized by generalized minors of highest-weight (resp. lowest-weight) group representations, generalizing results of Yang-Zelevinsky in finite type. In type $A_n^{\!(1)}$ and fin…
We investigate quiver representations over $\mathbb{F}_1$. Coefficient quivers are combinatorial gadgets equivalent to $\mathbb{F}_1$-representations of quivers. We focus on the case when the quiver $Q$ is a pseudotree. For such quivers, we first use the notion of coefficient quivers to provide a complete classification of asymptotic behaviors of indecomposable representations over $\mathbb{F}_1$. Then, we prove some fundamental structural results about the Lie algebras associated to pseudotrees. Finally, we construct examples of $\mathbb{F}_1$-representations $M$ of a quiver $Q$ by using cove…
We introduce the notion of a super-representation of a quiver. For super-representations of quivers over a field of characteristic zero, we describe the corresponding (super)algebras of polynomial semi-invariants and polynomial invariants.
In this text, we characterize the representation type of an acyclic quiver by the properties of its associated quiver Grassmannians. This characterization utilizes and extends known results about singular quiver Grassmannians and cell decompositions into affine spaces. While all quiver Grassmannians for indecomposable representations of quivers of finite representation types $A$ and $D$ are smooth and admit cell decompositions, it turns out that all quiver Grassmannians for indecomposable representations of quivers of tame types $A$ and $D$ admit cell decompositions, but some of these quiver G…
Quiver representations arise naturally in many areas across mathematics. Here we describe an algorithm for calculating the vector space of sections, or compatible assignments of vectors to vertices, of any finite-dimensional representation of a finite quiver. Consequently, we are able to define and compute principal components with respect to quiver representations. These principal components are solutions to constrained optimisation problems defined over the space of sections, and are eigenvectors of an associated matrix pencil.
This paper presents a geometric model of the Auslander-Reiten quiver of a type A quiver together with a stability function for which all indecomposable modules are stable. We also introduce a new Catalan object which we call a maximal almost rigid representation. We show that its endomorphism algebra is a tilted algebra of type A. We define a partial order on the set of maximal almost rigid representations and use our new geometric model to show that this partial order is a Cambrian lattice.
In this work, we introduce {\em topological representations of a quiver} as a system consisting of topological spaces and its relationships determined by the quiver. Such a setting gives a natural connection between topological representations of a quiver and diagrams of topological spaces. First, we investigate the relation between the category of topological representations and that of linear representations of a quiver via $P(Γ)$-$\mathcal{TOP}^o$ and $kΓ$-Mod, concerning (positively) graded or vertex (positively) graded modules. Second, we discuss the homological theory of topological repr…
We prove that all quiver Grassmannians for exceptional representations of a generalized Kronecker quiver admit a cell decomposition. In the process, we introduce a class of regular representations which arise as quotients of consecutive preprojective representations. Cell decompositions for quiver Grassmannians of these "truncated preprojectives" are also established. We also provide two natural combinatorial labelings for these cells. On the one hand, they are labeled by certain subsets of a so-called 2-quiver attached to a (truncated) preprojective representation. On the other hand, the cell…
Let k be a field of arbitrary characteristic and let Q be a quiver of finite representation type. In this paper we prove that if M is an indecomposable kQ-module then the universal deformation ring of M over kQ is isomorphic to k.
We study the representation theory of quantizations of Gieseker moduli spaces. Namely, we prove the localization theorems for these algebras, describe their finite dimensional representations and two-sided ideals as well as their categories O in some special cases. We apply this to prove our conjecture with Bezrukavnikov on the number of finite dimensional irreducible representations of quantized quiver varieties for quivers of affine type.
We introduce the notion of (twisted) quiver representations in abelian categories and study the category of such representations. We construct standard resolutions and coresolutions of quiver representations and study basic homological properties of the category of representations. These results are applied in the case of parabolic vector bundles and framed coherent sheaves.
We relate the notion of dimension expanders to quiver representations and their general subrepresentations, and use this relation to establish sharp existence results.
