We give a new proof of the finiteness of B-representations. As a consequence of the finiteness of B-representations and Kollár's gluing theory on lc centers, we prove that the (relative) abundance conjecture for slc pairs is implied by the abundance conjecture for log canonical pairs.
Let $(X, Δ)/U$ be klt pairs and $Q$ be a convex set of divisors. Assuming that the relative Kodaira dimensions are non-negative, then there are only finitely many log canonical models when the boundary divisors varying in a relatively compact rational polytope in $Q$. As a consequence, we show the existence of the log canonical model for a klt pair $(X, Δ)/U$ with real coefficients.
We study relations between the property of being log abundant for lc pairs and the termination of log MMP with scaling. We prove that any log MMP with scaling of an ample divisor starting with a projective dlt pair contains only finitely many log abundant dlt pairs. We also discuss log MMP for slc pairs.
In this paper, we generalize the finiteness of models theorem in [BCHM06] to Kawamata log terminal pairs with fixed Kodaira dimension. As a consequence, we prove that a Kawamata log terminal pair with $\mathbb{R}-$boundary has a canonical model, and can be approximated by log pairs with $\mathbb{Q}-$boundary and the same canonical model.
We prove the finiteness of $B$-representations of generalised log canonical pairs. As a consequence, we prove that, the (relative) abundance for a generalised semi-log canonical pair is implied by the abundance for its normalisation. Furthermore, we obtain an abundance theorem for generalised dlt pairs with abundant data, which is a natural inductive step of generalised minimal model program.
In this paper, we prove the abundance theorem for numerically trivial canonical divisors on strongly $F$-regular varieties, assuming that the geometric generic fibers of the Albanese morphisms are strongly $F$-regular.
We prove the abundance theorem for log canonical $n$-folds such that the boundary divisor is big assuming the abundance conjecture for log canonical $(n-1)$-folds. We also discuss the log minimal model program for log canonical $4$-folds.
In this article we prove a finiteness result on the number of log minimal models for $3$-folds in char $p>5$. We then use this result to prove a version of Batyrev's conjecture on the structure of nef cone of curves on $3$-folds in characteristic $p>5$. We also give a proof of the same conjecture in full generality in characteristic $0$. We further verify that the duality of movable curves and pseudo-effective divisors hold in arbitrary characteristic. We then give a criterion for the pseudo-effectiveness of the canonical divisor $K_X$ of a smooth projective variety in arbitrary characteristic…
We show Fujita's spectrum conjecture for $ε$-log canonical pairs and Fujita's log spectrum conjecture for log canonical pairs. Then, we generalize the pseudo-effective threshold of a single divisor to multiple divisors and establish the analogous finiteness and the DCC properties.
We show that a weak version of the canonical bundle formula holds for fibrations of relative dimension one. We provide various applications thereof, for instance, using the recent result of Xu and Zhang, we prove the log non-vanishing conjecture for three-dimensional klt pairs over any algebraically closed field $k$ of characteristic $p>5$. We also show the log abundance conjecture for threefolds over $k$ when the nef dimension is not maximal, and the base point free theorem for threefolds over the algebraic closure of any finite field of characteristic $p>2$.
In this paper, we use canonical bundle formulas to prove some generalizations of an old theorem of Kawamata on the semiampleness of nef and abundant log canonical divisors. In particular, we show that for klt pairs $(X,B)$ with $K_X+B$ effective, $L \in Pic (X)$ nef, nefness and abundance of $K_X+B+L$ implies semiampleness. This essentially generalizes Kawamata's theorem to the setting of generalized abundance.
We prove that the log canonical ring of a klt pair of dimension $3$ with $\mathbb{Q}$-boundary over an algebraically closed field of characteristic $p>5$ is finitely generated. In the process we prove log abundance for such pairs in the case $κ=2$.
We use the canonical bundle formula for parabolic fibrations to give an inductive approach to the generalized abundance conjecture using nef reduction. In particular, we observe that generalized abundance holds for a klt pair $(X,B)$ if the nef dimension $n(K_X+B+L)=2$ and $K_X+B \geq 0$ or $n(K_X+B+L)=3$ and $κ(K_X+B )>0$.
We discuss the birational geometry of singular surfaces in positive characteristic. More precisely, we establish the minimal model program and the abundance theorem for Q-factorial surfaces and for log canonical surfaces. Moreover, in the case where the base field is the algebraic closure of a finite field, we obtain the same results under much weaker assumptions.
This paper shows that Mustata-Nakamura's conjecture holds for pairs consisting of a smooth surface and a multiideal with a real exponent over the base field of positive characteristic. As corollaries, we obtain the ascending chain condition of the minimal log discrepancies and of the log canonical thresholds for those pairs. We also obtain finiteness of the set of the minimal log discrepancies of those pairs for a fixed real exponent.
We prove that the moduli b-divisor of an lc-trivial fibration from a log canonical pair is log abundant. The result follows from a theorem on the restriction of the moduli b-divisor, based on a theory of lc-trivial morphisms, which allows us to treat $\mathbb{R}$-divisors and proper morphisms possibly with disconnected fibres. We also prove a theorem on extending a finite cover over a closed subvariety to that over a variety in arbitrary characteristic.
We define an "ample canonical height" for an endomorphism on a projective variety, which is essentially a generalization of the canonical heights for polarized endomorphisms introduced by Call--Silverman. We formulate a dynamical analogue of the Northcott finiteness theorem for ample canonical heights as a conjecture, and prove it for endomorphisms on varieties of small Picard numbers, abelian varieties, and surfaces. As applications, for the endomorphisms which satisfy the conjecture, we show the non-density of the set of preperiodic points over a fixed number field, and obtain a dynamical Mo…
In this article we show that if $(X, Δ)$ is a log canonical compact Kähler $3$-fold such that $K_X+Δ$ is nef and the numerical dimension $ν(K_X+Δ)\neq 2$, then $K_X+Δ$ is semi-ample.
We prove a finiteness result for the p-adic cohomology of the Lubin-Tate tower. For any n>=1 and p-adic field F, this provides a canonical functor from admissible p-adic representations of GL_n(F) towards admissible p-adic representations of Gal_F x D^*, where Gal_F is the absolute Galois group of F, and D/F is the central division algebra of invariant 1/n. Moreover, we verify a local-global-compatibility statement for this correspondence, and compatibility with the patching construction of Caraiani-Emerton-Gee-Geraghty-Paskunas-Shin.
Let X be a complex projective variety and D a reduced divisor on X. Under a natural minimal condition on the singularities of the pair (X, D), which includes the case of smooth X with simple normal crossing D, we ask for geometric criteria guaranteeing various positivity conditions for the log-canonical divisor K_X+D. By adjunction and running the log minimal model program, natural to our setting, we obtain a geometric criterion for K_X+D to be numerically effective as well as a geometric version of the cone theorem, generalizing to the context of log pairs these results of Mori. A criterion f…
