We study some aspects of spherical symmetric dyonic non-supersymmetric black holes in $4d \; N=1$ supergravity coupled to chiral and vector multiplets on Kähler-Ricci solitons. Then, we have a family of dyonic non-supersymmetric black holes deformed with respect to the flow parameter related to the Kähler-Ricci soliton, which possibly controls the nature of black holes, such as their asymptotic and near horizon geometries. Two types of black holes are discussed, namely a family of dyonic Reissner-Nordström-like black holes and Bertotti-Robinson-like black holes where the scalars are freezing all over spacetime and at the horizon, respectively. In addition, the corresponding vacuum structures for such black holes are also studied in the context of Morse-(Bott) theory. Finally, we give some simple $\;{\lC \mathrm{P}}^n$-models whose superpotential and gauge couplings have a linear form.
We prove the existence and the uniqueness of the static dyonic black holes in four dimensional $N=1$ supergravity theory coupled vector and scalar multiplets. We set the near-horizon geometry to be a product of two Einstein surfaces, whereas the asymptotic geometry has to be a space of constant scalar curvature. Using these data, we show that there exist a unique solution for scalar fields which interpolates these regions.
Magnetic and Dyonic solutions are constructed for the theory of abelian gauged N=2 gauged four dimensional supergravity coupled to vector multiplets. The solutions found preserve 1/4 of the supersymmetry.
A class of 4-dimensional supersymmetric dyonic black hole solutions that arise in an effective 11-dimensional supergravity compactified on a 7-torus is presented. We give the explicit form of dyonic solutions with diagonal internal metric, associated with the Kaluza-Klein sector as well as the three-form field, and relate them to a class of solutions with a general internal metric by imposing a subset of $SO(7)\subset E_7$ transformations. We also give the field transformations which relate the above configurations to 4-dimensional ground state configurations of Ramond-Ramond and Neveu-Schwarz…
We present two new classes of dyonic anti-de Sitter black hole solutions of 4-dimensional maximal N=8, SO(8) gauged supergravity. They are: (1) static black holes of N=2, U(1)^4 gauged supergravity with 4 electric and 4 magnetic charges, with spherical, planar or hyperbolic horizons; and (2) rotating black holes of N=2, U(1)^2 gauged supergravity with 2 electric and 2 magnetic charges. We study their thermodynamics, and point out that the formulation of a consistent thermodynamics for dyonic anti-de Sitter black holes is dependent on the existence of boundary conditions for the gauge fields. W…
We study thermodynamical properties of static dyonic AdS black holes in four-dimensional $ω$-deformed Kaluza-Klein gauged supergravity theory, and find that the differential first law requires a modification via introducing a new pair of thermodynamical conjugate variables (X, Y). To ensure such a modification, we then apply the quasi-local ADT formalism developed in Ref. [20] to calculate the quasi-local conserved charge and identify that the new pair is precisely the one previously introduced to modify the differential form of first law.
We study supersymmetric Janus solutions of dyonic $ISO(7)$-gauged $\mathcal{N}$ = 8 supergravity. We mostly find Janus solutions flowing to 3d $\mathcal{N}$ = 8 SYM phase which is the worldvolume theory on D2-branes and non-conformal. There are also solutions flowing from the critical points which are dual to 3d SCFTs from deformations of the D2-brane theory.
We consider a certain ${\cal N}=1$ supersymmetric, SO(3)$\times$SO(3) invariant, subsector of the dyonic ISO(7)-gauged maximal supergravity in four-dimensions. The theory contains two scalar fields and two pseudoscalar fields. We look for stationary points of the scalar potential, especially the one preserving ${\cal N}=3$ supersymmetry of the original ISO(7) gauged theory. The ${\cal N}=3$ stationary point corresponding to the $AdS$ vacuum in the $D=4$ theory is lifted to a warped $AdS_4\times X_6$ type solution in massive type IIA supergravity. This $D=10$ background should be the dual of a …
Explicit formulae are given for the consistent truncation of massive type IIA supergravity on the six-sphere to the SU(3)--invariant sector of $D=4$ ${\cal N}=8$ supergravity with dyonic ISO(7) gauging. These formulae are then used to construct AdS$_4$ solutions of massive type IIA via uplift on $S^6$ of the critical points of the $D=4$ supergravity with at least SU(3) symmetry. We find a new ${\cal N}=1$ solution with SU(3) symmetry, a new non-supersymmetric solution with SO(6) symmetry, and recover previously known solutions. We quantise the fluxes, calculate the gravitational free energies …
We identify 219 AdS$_4$ solutions in four-dimensional dyonically gauged ISO(7) $\mathcal{N}=8$ supergravity and present some of their properties. One of the new solutions preserves $\mathcal{N}=1$ supersymmetry and provides a rare explicit example of an AdS$_4$ vacuum dual to a 3d SCFT with no continuous global symmetry. There are also two new non-supersymmetric solutions for which all 70 scalar fields in the supergravity theory have masses above the BF bound. All of these AdS$_4$ solutions can be uplifted to massive type IIA supergravity. Motivated by this we present the low lying operator sp…
Recently a new maximally supersymmetric, dyonically gauged supergravity in four-dimenions has been constructed. This theory admits several supersymmetric AdS solutions, and a Chern- Simons-matter dual theory has been proposed for a solution with an unbroken SU(3) symmetry. The gravity side and the field theory side of the free energy computation show nice agreements at superconformal point. With a view to a study of non-conformal deformations, in this paper we study a consistent truncation of the full theory where SU(3) is broken to U(1)$^2$. We elucidate the geometry of the scalar sector, and…
In this paper we study several aspects of extremal spherical symmetric black hole solutions of four dimensional N=1 supergravity coupled to vector and chiral multiplets with the scalar potential turned on. In the asymptotic region the complex scalars are fixed and regular which can be viewed as the critical points of the black hole and the scalar potentials with vanishing scalar charges. It follows that the asymptotic geometries are of a constant and non-zero scalar curvature which are generally not Einstein. These spaces could also correspond to the near horizon geometries which are the produ…
We revisit non-rotating, dyonically charged, and supersymmetric AdS$_4$ black holes, which are solutions of $\mathcal{N}=2$ gauged supergravity with vector- and hyper-multplets. Uplifting the near horizon solutions to $D=11$ supergravity on seven-dimensional Sasaki-Einstein manifolds, we show that dyonic AdS$_4$ black holes correspond to AdS$_2$ solutions with electric and magnetic baryonic fluxes in $D=11$ supergravity. We identify the off-shell AdS$_4$ black hole solutions with parameters of $D=11$ AdS$_2$ solutions without imposing the equations of motion. We calculate the entropy of dyonic…
We clarify the higher-dimensional origin of a class of dyonic gaugings of $D=4$ ${\cal N}=8$ supergravity recently discovered, when the gauge group is chosen to be ISO(7). This dyonically-gauged maximal supergravity arises from consistent truncation of massive IIA supergravity on $S^6$, and its magnetic coupling constant descends directly from the Romans mass. The critical points of the supergravity uplift to new AdS$_4$ massive type IIA vacua. We identify the corresponding CFT$_3$ duals as super-Chern-Simons-matter theories with simple gauge group SU$(N)$, with level $k$ given by the Romans m…
We summarize the results for four-dimensional Bogomol'nyi-Prasad- Sommerfield (BPS) saturated dyonic black hole solutions arising in the Kaluza-Klein sector and the three-form field sector of the eleven-dimensional supergravity on a seven-torus. These black hole solutions break $3\over 4$ of $N=8$ supersymmetry, fill out the multipletes of $U$-duality group, and the two classes of solutions are related to each other by a discrete symmetry transformation in $E_7$. Using the field redefinitions of the corresponding effective actions, we present these solutions in terms of fields describing class…
We systematically construct and study smooth supersymmetric solutions in 5 dimensional N=1 Yang-Mills-Einstein supergravity. Our solution is based on the ADHM construction of (dyonic) multi-instantons in Yang-Mills theory, which extends to the gravity-coupled system. In a simple supergravity model obtained from N=2 theory, our solutions are regular ring-like configurations, which can also be interpreted as supertubes. By studying the SU(2) 2-instanton example in detail, we find that angular momentum is maximized, with fixed electric charge, for circular rings. This feature is qualitatively sam…
Motivated by its well defined higher dimensional origin, a detailed study of $D=4$ $\mathcal{N}=8$ supergravity with a dyonically gauged $\textrm{ISO}(7) = \textrm{SO}(7) \ltimes \mathbb{R}^7$ gauge group is performed. We write down the Lagrangian and describe the tensor and duality hierarchies, focusing on an interesting subsector with closed field equations and supersymmetry transformations. We then truncate the $\mathcal{N}=8$ theory to some smaller sectors with $\mathcal{N}=2$ and $\mathcal{N}=1$ supersymmetry and SU(3), $\textrm{G}_2$ and SO(4) bosonic symmetry. Canonical and superpotenti…
In this paper we first give a simple parametrization of the scalar coset manifold of the only known anomaly free chiral gauged supergravity in six dimensions in the absence of linear multiplets, namely gauged minimal supergravity coupled to a tensor multiplet, E_6 x E_7 x U(1)_R Yang-Mills multiplets and suitable number of hypermultiplets. We then construct the potential for the scalars and show that it has a unique minimum at the origin. We also construct a new BPS dyonic string solution in which U(1)_R x U(1) gauge fields, in addition to the metric, dilaton and the 2-form potential, assume n…
We give a large class of new supersymmetric Janus solutions in dyonic $ISO(7)$ maximal gauged supergravity encompassing all known solutions appearing recently. We consider $SO(3)$ invariant sector in which the gauged supergravity admits four supersymmetric $AdS_4$ vacua with $N=1,1,2,3$ unbroken supersymmetries and $G_2$, $SU(3)$, $SU(3)\times U(1)$ and $SO(4)$ symmetries, respectively. We find Janus solutions preserving $N=1,2,3$ supersymmetries and interpolating between $AdS_4$ vacua and the $N=8$ SYM phase. These solutions can be interpreted as conformal interfaces between SYM and various c…
In five dimensions, we consider a model described by the Einstein gravity with a source given by a scalar field and various Abelian gauge fields with dilatonic-like couplings. For this model, we are able to construct two dyonic black holes whose three-dimensional horizons are modeled by two nontrivial homogeneous Thurston's geometries. The dyonic solutions are of Lifshitz type with an arbitrary value of the dynamical exponent. In fact, the first gauge field ensures the anisotropy asymptotic while the remaining Abelian fields sustain the electric and magnetic charges. Using the Hamiltonian form…
We show how a solitonic ``magnetically'' charged $p$-brane solution of a given supergravity theory, with the magnetic charge carried by an antisymmetric tensor gauge field, can be generalized to a dyonic solution. We discuss the cases of ten-dimensional and eleven-dimensional supergravity in more detail and a new dyonic five-brane solution in ten dimensions is given. Unlike the purely electrically or magnetically charged five-brane solution the dyonic five-brane contains non-zero Ramond--Ramond fields and is therefore an intrinsically type~II solution. The solution preserves half of the type~I…
Dyonic gaugings of four-dimensional supergravity typically exhibit a richer vacuum structure compared to their purely electric counterparts, but their higher-dimensional origin often remains more mysterious. We consider a class of dyonic gaugings with gauge groups of the type (SO(p,q)xSO(p',q'))$\ltimes N$ with $N$ nilpotent. Using generalized Scherk-Schwarz reductions of exceptional field theory, we show how these four-dimensional gaugings may be consistently embedded in Type II supergravity upon compactification around products of spheres and hyperboloids. As an application, we give the expl…
We describe embeddings of a single D3-brane in generic IIB supergravity backgrounds when both electric and magnetic fields are turned on. As a particular application, we describe a dyonic D3-brane in AdS_5 x S^1, dual to 1/4 BPS states of N=4$ SYM.
Using the Sen's entropy function formalism, we compute the entropy for the extremal dyonic black hole solutions of theories in the presence of dilaton field coupled to the field strength and a dilaton potential. We solve the attractor equations analytically and determine the near horizon metric, the value of the scalar fields and the electric field on the horizon, and consequently the entropy of these black holes. The attractor mechanism plays a very important role for these systems, and after studying the simplest systems involving dilaton fields, we propose a general ansatz for the value of …
We construct non-extremal dyonic string solutions in 6D minimal supergravity where the leading higher derivative corrections arise from either the type IIA string theory compactified on K3 or the heterotic string theory compactified on 4-torus. The thermodynamical quantities and Euclidean actions of the strings are computed. In the near extremal regime, we calculate the force felt by a probe fundamental string in the background of the macroscopic dyonic string with leading $α'$ corrections. We find that in both the IIA and heterotic setups, away from extremality, the attractive force overwhelm…
We present dyonic multi-membrane solutions of the N=2 D=8 supergravity theory that serves as the effective field theory of the $T^2$-compactified type II superstring theory. The `electric' charge is fractional for generic asymptotic values of an axion field, as for D=4 dyons. These membrane solutions are supersymmetric, saturate a Bogomolnyi bound, fill out orbits of an $Sl(2;\Z)$ subgroup of the type II D=8 T-duality group, and are non-singular when considered as solutions of $T^3$-compactified D=11 supergravity. On $K_3$ compactification to D=4, the conjectured type II/heterotic equivalence …
It was shown in arXiv:1410.7168 that compactifying $D=6$, $\mathcal{N}=(1,0)$ ungauged supergravity coupled to a single tensor multiplet on S$^3$ one gets a particular $D=3$, $\mathcal{N}=4$ gauged supergravity which is a consistent reduction. We construct two supersymmetric black string solutions in this 3-dimensional model with one and two active scalars respectively. Uplifting the first, one gets a dyonic string solution in $D=6$ that has been known for a long time. Whereas, uplifting the second solution, one finds a very interesting configuration where magnetic strings are located uniforml…
We obtain spherically-symmetric and $\R^2$-symmetric dyonic black holes that are asymptotic to anti-de Sitter space-time (AdS), which are solutions in maximal gauged four-dimensional supergravity, with just one of the U(1) fields carrying both the electric and magnetic charges $(Q,P)$. We study the thermodynamics, and find that the usually-expected first law does not hold unless P=0, Q=0 or P=Q. For general values of the charges, we find that the first law requires a modification with a new pair of thermodynamic conjugate variables. We show that they describe the scalar hair that breaks some o…
This paper contains the results of our investigations of BPS instantons and of our work on N=2 supersymmetric gauge theories. The BPS instantons we study appear in type II string theory compactifications on Calabi-Yau threefolds. In the corresponding four-dimensional effective supergravity actions the BPS instantons arise as finite action solutions to the Euclidean equations of motion. For N=2 supersymmetric gauge theories we construct general Lagrangians involving gauge groups with (non-abelian) electric and magnetic (dyonic) charges. In this work a coupling to hypermultiplets is included.
The static Yang-Mills-Higgs dyonic instanton is shown to have a non-vanishing, but anti-self-dual, angular momentum 2-form with skew eigenvalues equal to the electric charge; for large charge the angular momentum causes the instanton to expand into a hyper-spherical shell. A class of exact multi dyonic instantons is then found and then generalized to a new class of 1/4 supersymmetric, non-singular, stationary, exact solutions of the ten-dimensional supergravity/Yang-Mills theory. These self-gravitating dyonic instantons yield new heterotic string solitons, to leading order in the inverse strin…
We consider theories of N=2 supergravity with Fayet-Iliopoulos gauging, and describe a procedure to obtain non-BPS extremal black hole solutions in asymptotically AdS_4 space, in a fully symplectic covariant framework. By considering both electric as well as magnetic gauging, we are able to find new extremal purely magnetic and dyonic solutions. We consistently impose the Dirac quantization condition as a constraint on the black hole and gravitinos charges. This additional requirement allows to parameterize the black hole entropy in terms of an integer and of the entropy of the corresponding b…
We construct the on-shell double copy for linearised four-dimensional ${\cal N}=2$ supergravity coupled to one vector multiplet with a quadratic prepotential. We apply this dictionary to the weak-field approximation of dyonic BPS black holes in this theory.
We find new non-supersymmetric solutions of five-dimensional ungauged supergravity coupled to two vector multiplets. The solutions are regular, horizonless and have the same asymptotic charges as non-extremal charged black holes. An essential ingredient in our construction is a four-dimensional Euclidean base which is a solution to Einstein-Maxwell equations. We construct stationary solutions based on the Euclidean dyonic Reissner-Nordstrom black hole as well as a six-parameter family with a dyonic Kerr-Newman-NUT base. These solutions can be viewed as compactifications of eleven-dimensional s…
This short note provides (TensorFlow-based) numerical evidence for the embedability (in the limit of a scalar parameter going to infinity) of the scalar potential of dyonic N=8, D=4 SO(8) supergravity into the scalar potential of N=16, D=3 SO(8)xSO(8) supergravity. One finds that the dyonic $ω$-angle gets identified with the compact U(1) part of the SL(2) factor of the SL(2)xE7(7) subgroup of E8(8).
We give a large class of supersymmetric Janus solutions in $ω$-deformed (dyonic) $SO(8)$ maximal gauged supergravity with $ω=\fracπ{8}$. Unlike the purely electric counterpart, the dyonic $SO(8)$ gauged supergravity exhibits a richer structure of $AdS_4$ vacua with $N=8,2,1,1$ supersymmetries and $SO(8)$, $U(3)$, $G_2$ and $SU(3)$ symmetries, respectively. Similarly, domain walls interpolating among these critical points show a very rich structure as well. In this paper, we show that this gauged supergravity also accommodates a number of interesting supersymmetric Janus solutions in the form o…
We obtain an asymptotically AdS, non-extremal, electrically charged and rotating black hole solution of 4-dimensional U(1)^4 gauged supergravity with 2 non-zero and independent U(1) charges. The thermodynamical quantities are computed. We find BPS solutions that are nakedly singular. The solution is generalized to include a NUT parameter and dyonic gauge fields. The string frame metric has a rank-2 Killing-Stackel tensor and has completely integrable geodesic motion, and the massless Klein-Gordon equation separates for the Einstein frame metric.
We study $N=2$ gauged supergravity with $U(1)$ gauge group coupled to $n_v$ vector multiplets and find quite general analytic solutions for quarter-BPS black holes with mass, NUT and dyonic Maxwell charges. The solutions we find have running scalar fields and flow in the IR region to a horizon geometry of the form AdS$_2\times Σ_g$.
We study static BPS black hole horizons in four dimensional N=2 gauged supergravity coupled to $n_v$-vector multiplets and with an arbitrary cubic prepotential. We work in a symplectically covariant formalism which allows for both electric and magnetic gauging parameters as well as dyonic background charges and obtain the general solution to the BPS equations for horizons of the form $AdS_2\times Σ_g$. In particular this means we solve for the scalar fields as well as the metric of these black holes as a function of the gauging parameters and background charges. When the special Kahler manifol…
In this note, we explore the solution space of non-extremal black objects in $4D$ and $5D$ ${\cal N}=2$ gauged supergravity in the presence of fluxes. We present first order rewritings of the $4D$ action for a classes of non-extremal dyonic and electric solutions with electric flux backgrounds. Additionally, we obtain the non-extremal version of the Nernst brane in $AdS_5$ using a simple deformation. Finally, we develop a new technique to deform extremal black solutions in $4D$ to non-extremal solutions by an analysis of the symmetries of the equations of motion.
We perform a thorough investigation of Lifshitz-like metrics with hyperscaling violation (hvLif) in four-dimensional theories of gravity coupled to an arbitrary number of scalars and vector fields, obtaining new solutions, electric, magnetic and dyonic, that include the known ones as particular cases. After establishing some general results on the properties of purely hvLif solutions, we apply the previous formalism to the case of \mathcal{N}=2, d=4 Supergravity in the presence of Fayet-Iliopoulos terms, obtaining particular solutions to the t^3-model, and explicitly embedding some of them in …
We show that one can obtain asymptotic evolving boost-invariant geometries in a simple manner from the corresponding static solutions. We exhibit the procedure in the case of a supergravity dual of R-charged hydrodynamics by turning on a supergravity gauge field and analyze the relevant thermodynamics. Finally we consider turning on the dilaton and show that electric and magnetic modes in the plasma equilibrate before reaching asymptotic proper times.
We present new supersymmetric black-hole solutions of the 4- and 5-dimensional gauged supergravity theories that one obtains by dimensional reduction on $T^{5}$ and $T^{6}$ of Heterotic supergravity with a triplet of Yang-Mills fields. The new ingredient of our solutions is the presence of dyonic non-Abelian fields which allows us to obtain a generalization of the BMPV black hole with two independent angular momenta and the first example of a supersymmetric, rotating, asymptotically-flat black hole with a regular horizon in 4 dimensions.
We consider a deformation of the well-known stu model of $N=2$, $D=4$ supergravity, characterized by a non-homogeneous special Kähler manifold, and by the smallest electric-magnetic duality Lie algebra consistent with its upliftability to five dimensions. We explicitly solve the BPS attractor equations and construct static supersymmetric black holes with radial symmetry, in the context of $\text{U}(1)$ dyonic Fayet-Iliopoulos gauging, focussing on axion-free solutions. Due to non-homogeneity of the scalar manifold, the model evades the analysis recently given in the literature. The relevant ph…
Maximal supergravity in four dimensions admits two inequivalent dyonic gaugings of the group $\mathrm{SO}(4) \times \mathrm{SO}(2,2) \ltimes T^{16}$. Both admit a Minkowski vacuum with residual $\mathrm{SO}(4) \times \mathrm{SO}(2)^2$ symmetry and identical spectrum. We explore these vacua and their deformations. Using exceptional field theory, we show that the four-dimensional theories arise as consistent truncations from IIA and IIB supergravity, respectively, around a $\mathrm{Mink}_4\times S^3\times H^3$ geometry. The IIA/IIB truncations are efficiently related by an outer automorphism of …
We investigate the existence of supersymmetric static dyonic black holes with spherical horizon in the context of N= 2 U(1) gauged supergravity in four dimensions. We analyze the conditions for their existence and provide the general first-order flow equations driving the scalar fields and the metric warp factors from the asymptotic AdS4 geometry to the horizon. We work in a general duality-symmetric setup, which allows to describe both electric and magnetic gaugings. We also discuss the attractor mechanism and the issue of moduli (de-)stabilization.
We derive the necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of a Killing spinor in N=(1,0) gauge supergravity in six dimensions coupled to a single tensor multiplet, vector multiplets and hypermultiplets. These are shown to imply most of the field equations and the remaining ones are determined. In this framework, we find a novel 1/8 supersymmetric dyonic string solution with nonvanishing hypermultiplet scalars. The activated scalars parametrize a 4 dimensional submanifold of a quaternionic hyperbolic ball. We employ an identity map between this submanifold and the internal space trans…
The entropy of generic non-extremal dyonic black holes in the STU model has been shown to admit a remarkably universal form. The missing invariant in the formula was recently identified by Sárosi using the formalism of quantum entanglement as well as a higher dimensional embedding of the U-duality group. Here, we express the non-extremal black hole entropy in the STU model in terms of U-duality covariant tensors. We then provide the extension to the most general non-extremal black hole of ungauged $\mathcal N= 8$ supergravity using $E_{7(7)}$ invariants. We also conjecture a generalization for…
We investigate the complete family of (aligned) Robinson-Trautman spacetimes sourced by conformally invariant non-linear electrodynamics in $D$ dimensions in the presence of an arbitrary cosmological constant. After presenting general features of the solutions (which exist only in even dimensions), we discuss in more detail some particular subclasses. Static metrics contain dyonic black holes with various possible horizon geometries (Kähler if there is a magnetic field, including flat branes) and different asymptotics. In addition, there exist also time-dependent solutions (not possible in the…
Starting from the symplectic construction of the Lie algebra e_7(7) due to Adams, we consider an Iwasawa parametrization of the coset E_7(7)/SU(8), which is the scalar manifold of N=8, d=4 supergravity. Our approach, and the manifest off-shell symmetry of the resulting symplectic frame, is determined by a non-compact Cartan subalgebra of the maximal subgroup SL(8,R) of E_7(7). In absence of gauging, we utilize the explicit expression of the Lie algebra to study the origin of E_7(7)/SU(8) as scalar configuration of a 1/8-BPS extremal black hole attractor. In such a framework, we highlight the a…
Exceptional field theories yield duality covariant formulations of supergravity. We show that they provide a highly efficient tool to compute the Kaluza-Klein mass spectra associated to compactifications around various background geometries relevant for string theory and holographic applications. This includes geometries with little to no remaining symmetries, hardly accessible to standard methods. As an illustration, we work out the masses of some higher Kaluza-Klein multiplets around warped geometries corresponding to some prominent ${\cal N} = 2$ supersymmetric AdS vacua in maximal supergra…
Extreme near-horizon geometries in D=11 supergravity preserving four supersymmetries are classified. It is shown that the Killing spinors fall into three possible orbits, corresponding to pairs of spinors defined on the spatial cross-sections of the horizon which have isotropy groups SU(3), G2, or SU(4). In each case, the conditions on the geometry and the 4-form flux are determined. The integrability conditions obtained from the Killing spinor equations are also investigated.
We extend previous work on non-abelian T-duality in the presence of Ramond fluxes to cases in which the duality group acts with isotropy such as in backgrounds containing coset spaces. In the process we generate new supergravity solutions related to D-brane configurations and to standard supergravity compactifications.
We describe the most general asymptotically flat, stationary, non-extremal, dyonic black hole of the four-dimensional N = 2 supergravity coupled to 3 vector multiplets that describes the low-energy regime of the STU model. Under U-dualities, this can be used as a seed to generate all single-centered stationary black holes of N = 8 supergravity. The independent conserved charges are the mass, angular momentum, four electric charges and four magnetic charges; an independent NUT charge can also be added. Several aspects of the black hole are presented, including thermodynamics, the BPS limit, the…
We construct maximal supergravity in four dimensions with local scaling symmetry as deformation of the original Cremmer-Julia theory. The different theories which include the standard gaugings are parametrized by an embedding tensor carrying 56+912 parameters. We determine the form of the possible gauge groups and work out the complete set of field equations. As a result we obtain the most general couplings compatible with N=8 supersymmetry in four dimensions. A particular feature of these theories is the absence of an action and an additional positive contribution to the effective cosmologica…
A class of four-dimensional static supersymmetric black hole solutions of effective supergravity Lagrangian of IIA superstring compactified on $T^6$ is constructed by explicitly solving Killing spinor equations (KSEs). These solutions are dyonic black holes parametrized by four charges, with dilaton and diagonal internal metric components as the only non-zero scalar fields, and preserve $1 \over 8$ of $N=8$ supersymmetry. The KSEs with only Neveu-Schwarz-Neveu-Schwarz charges relate spinors with opposite chirality from ten-dimensional view point, and have identical structures with KSEs of toro…
