We explore variational Poisson-Nijenhuis structures on nonlinear PDEs and establish relations between Schouten and Nijenhuis brackets on the initial equation with the Lie bracket of symmetries on its natural extensions (coverings). This approach allows to construct a framework for the theory of nonlocal structures.
We study and completely describe pairs of compatible Poisson structures near singular points of the recursion operator satisfying natural non-degeneracy condition.
In this paper, we introduce right-invariant (similarly, left-invariant) Poisson-Nijenhuis Structures on Lie groupoids and their infinitesimal counterparts as called $(Λ, \mathbf{n})-$structures. We present a mutual correspondence between $(Λ,\mathbf{n})-$structures on Lie algebroids with Poisson-Nijenhuis structures $(Π, \mathbf{N})$ on their Lie groupoids under some conditions. Also, we will construct Poisson-Nijenhuis pair groupoids as an example from the invariance's point of view.

We introduce the notion of pseudo-Poisson Nijenhuis manifolds. These manifolds are generalizations of Poisson Nijenhuis manifolds by Magri and Morosi \cite{MM}. We show that any pseudo-Poisson Nijenhuis manifold has an associated quasi-Lie bialgebroid as in the case of Poisson quasi-Nijenhuis manifolds by Sti$\acute{\mathrm{e}}$non and Xu \cite{SX}. Hence, since a quasi-Lie bialgebroid has an associated Courant algebroid, we have new materials to construct Courant algebroids. In the "nondegenerate" case, we show that the conditions of pseudo-Poisson Nijenhuis structures can be reduced. Therefo…
We study a class of Poisson-Nijenhuis systems defined on compact hermitian symmetric spaces, where the Nijenhuis tensor is defined as the composition of Kirillov-Konstant-Souriau symplectic form with the so called Bruhat-Poisson structure. We determine its spectrum. In the case of Grassmannians the eigenvalues are the Gelfand-Tsetlin variables. We introduce the abelian algebra of collective hamiltonians defined by a chain of nested subalgebras and prove complete integrability. By construction, these models are integrable with respect to both Poisson structures. The eigenvalues of the Nijenhuis…
We investigate Nijenhuis deformations of $L_\infty$-algebras, a notion that unifies several Nijenhuis deformations, namely those of Lie algebras, Lie algebroids, Poisson structures and Courant structures. Additional examples, linked to Lie $n$-algebras and $n$-plectic manifolds, are included.
We consider the problem of the symplectic realization of a Poisson-Nijenhuis manifold. By applying a new technique developed by M. Crainic and I. Marcut for the study of the above problem in the case of a Poisson manifold, we establish the existence, under a condition, of a nondegenerate Poisson-Nijenhuis structure on an open neighborhood of the zero-section of the cotangent bundle of the manifold, which symplectizes the initial structure. Additionally, we present some examples.
We define multiplicative Poisson-Nijenhuis structures on a Lie groupoid which extends the notion of symplectic-Nijenhuis groupoid introduced by Stié23non and Xu. We also introduce a special class of Lie bialgebroid structure on a Lie algebroid $A$, called P-N Lie bialgebroid, which defines a hierarchy of compatible Lie bialgebroid structures on $A$. We show that under some topological assumption on the groupoid, there is a one-to-one correspondence between multiplicative Poisson-Nijenhuis structures on a Lie groupoid and P-N Lie bialgebroid structures on the corresponding Lie algebroid.
In this paper, we develop the theory of Hom-Lie algebroids, Hom-Lie bialgebroids and Hom-Courant algebroids introduced by Cai, Liu and Sheng. Specifically, we introduce the notions of Hom-Poisson, Hom-Nijenhuis and Hom-Poisson-Nijenhuis structures on a Hom-Lie algebroid and the notion of Hom-Dirac structures on a Hom-Courant algebroid. We show that these structures satisfy similar properties to structures non "Hom-"version. For example, there exists the hierarchy of a Hom-Poisson-Nijenhuis structure and we have a relation between Hom-Dirac structures and Maurer-Cartan type equation. Moreover w…

We study invariant Nijenhuis $(1,1)$-tensors on a homogeneous space $G/K$ of a reductive Lie group $G$ from the point of view of integrability of a Hamiltonian system of differential equations with the $G$-invariant Hamiltonian function on the cotangent bundle $T^*(G/K)$. Such a tensor induces an invariant Poisson tensor $Π_1$ on $T^*(G/K)$, which is Poisson compatible with the canonical Poisson tensor $Π_{T^*(G/K)}$. This Poisson pair can be reduced to the space of $G$-invariant functions on $T^*(G/K)$ and produces a family of Poisson commuting $G$-invariant functions. We give, in Lie algebra…
In this paper, we introduce the notion of Koszul-Vinberg-Nijenhuis structures on a left-symmetric algebroid as analogues of Poisson-Nijenhuis structures on a Lie algebroid, and show that a Koszul-Vinberg-Nijenhuis structure gives rise to a hierarchy of Koszul-Vinberg structures. We introduce the notions of ${\rm KVΩ}$-structures, pseudo-Hessian-Nijenhuis structures and complementary symmetric $2$-tensors for Koszul-Vinberg structures on left-symmetric algebroids, which are analogues of ${\rm PΩ}$-structures, symplectic-Nijenhuis structures and complementary $2$-forms for Poisson structures. We…
We connect two a priori unrelated topics, theory of geodesically equivalent metrics in differential geometry, and theory of compatible infinite dimensional Poisson brackets of hydrodynamic type in mathematical physics. Namely, we prove that a pair of geodesically equivalent metrics such that one is flat produces a pair of such brackets. We construct Casimirs for these brackets and the corresponding commuting flows. There are two ways to produce a large family of compatible Poisson structures from a pair of geodesically equivalent metrics one of which is flat. One of these families is $(n+1)(n+…
We provide explicit formulas for integrating multiplicative forms on local Lie groupoids in terms of infinitesimal data. Combined with our previous work [8], which constructs the local Lie groupoid of a Lie algebroid, these formulas produce concrete integrations of several geometric stuctures defined infinitesimally. In particular, we obtain local integrations and non-degenerate realizations of Poisson, Nijenhuis-Poisson, Dirac, and Jacobi structures by local symplectic, symplectic-Nijenhuis, presymplectic, and contact groupoids, respectively.
In this paper, we develop holomorphic Jacobi structures. Holomorphic Jacobi manifolds are in one-to-one correspondence with certain homogeneous holomorphic Poisson manifolds. Furthermore, holomorphic Poisson manifolds can be looked at as special cases of holomorphic Jacobi manifolds. We show that holomorphic Jacobi structures yield a much richer framework than that of holomorphic Poisson structures. We also discuss the relationship between holomorphic Jacobi structures, generalized contact bundles and Jacobi-Nijenhuis structures.
Through the theory of Lie bi-algebroids and generalized complex structures, one could define a cohomology theory naturally associated to a holomorphic Poisson structure. It is known that it is the hypercohomology of a bi-complex such that one of the two operators is the classical $\overline{\partial}$-operator. Another operator is the adjoint action of the Poisson bivector with respect to the Schouten-Nijenhuis bracket. The hypercohomology is naturally computed by one of the two associated spectral sequences. In a prior publication, the author of this article and his collaborators investigated…
A cohomology theory associated to a holomorphic Poisson structure is the hypercohomology of a bi-complex where one of the two operators is the classical $\overline\partial$-operator, while the other operator is the adjoint action of the Poisson bivector with respect to the Schouten-Nijenhuis bracket. The first page of the associated spectral sequence is the Dolbeault cohomology with coefficients in the sheaf of germs of holomorphic polyvector fields. In this note, the authors investigate the conditions for which this spectral sequence degenerates on the first page when the underlying complex m…
