We prove a general theorem that the $L_ρ^2({\mathbb{R}^{d}};{\mathbb{R}^{1}})\otimes L_ρ^2({\mathbb{R}^{d}};{\mathbb{R}^{d}})$ valued solution of an infinite horizon backward doubly stochastic differential equation, if exists, gives the stationary solution of the corresponding stochastic partial differential equation. We prove the existence and uniqueness of the $L_ρ^2({\mathbb{R}^{d}};{\mathbb{R}^{1}})\otimes L_ρ^2({\mathbb{R}^{d}};{\mathbb{R}^{d}})$ valued solutions for backward doubly stochastic differential equations on finite and infinite horizon with linear growth without assuming Lipschitz conditions, but under the monotonicity condition. Therefore the solution of finite horizon problem gives the solution of the initial value problem of the corresponding stochastic partial differential equations, and the solution of the infinite horizon problem gives the stationary solution of the SPDEs according to our general result.
In this paper we study the existence of stationary solutions for stochastic partial differential equations. We establish a new connection between $L_ρ^2({\mathbb{R}^{d}};{\mathbb{R}^{1}}) \otimes L_ρ^2({\mathbb{R}^{d}};{\mathbb{R}^{d}})$ valued solutions of backward doubly stochastic differential equations (BDSDEs) on infinite horizon and the stationary solutions of the SPDEs. Moreover, we prove the existence and uniqueness of the solutions of BDSDEs on both finite and infinite horizons, so obtain the solutions of initial value problems and the stationary solutions (independent of any initial …
In this paper we aim to find the stationary stochastic viscosity solutions of a parabolic type SPDEs through the infinite horizon backward doubly stochastic differential equations (BDSDEs). For this, we study the existence, uniqueness and regularity of solutions of the corresponding infinite horizon BDSDEs as well as the "perfection procedure" applied to the solutions of BDSDEs. At last the "perfect" stationary stochastic viscosity solutions of SPDEs constructed by solutions of corresponding BDSDEs are obtained.
In this paper we present two numerical schemes of approximating solutions of backward doubly stochastic differential equations (BDSDEs for short). We give a method to discretize a BDSDE. And we also give the proof of the convergence of these two kinds of solutions for BDSDEs respectively. We give a sample of computation of BDSDEs.
In this paper we construct the stationary weak solutions of parabolic SPDEs by a general infinite horizon backward doubly stochastic differential equations (BDSDEs for short) with non-degenerate terminal functions. For this, we first study the existence, uniqueness and stationarity of solutions of such kind of BDSDEs in weighted $L^p(dx)\bigotimes L^2(dx)$ space ($p>2$). Then the corresponding stationary solutions of parabolic SPDEs can be obtained by the connection between the solutions of BDSDEs in weighted $L^p(dx)\bigotimes L^2(dx)$ space and the weak solutions of parabolic SPDEs. This res…
In this paper we study the existence and uniqueness of the $L_ρ^{2p}(\mathbb{R}^d;\mathbb{R}^1)\times L_ρ^2(\mathbb{R}^d;\mathbb{R}^d)$ valued solution of backward doubly stochastic differential equations with polynomial growth coefficients using week convergence, equivalence of norm principle and Wiener-Sobolev compactness arguments. Then we establish a new probabilistic representation of the weak solutions of SPDEs with polynomial growth coefficients through the solutions of the corresponding backward doubly stochastic differential equations (BDSDEs). This probabilistic representation is the…
In this paper, we initiate the study of backward doubly stochastic differential equations (BDSDEs, for short) with quadratic growth. The existence, comparison, and stability results for one-dimensional BDSDEs are proved when the generator $f(t,Y,Z)$ grows in $Z$ quadratically and the terminal value is bounded, by introducing some new ideas. Moreover, in this framework, we use BDSDEs to give a probabilistic representation for the solutions of semilinear stochastic partial differential equations (SPDEs, for short) in Sobolev spaces, and use it to prove the existence and uniqueness of such SPDEs,…
In this paper, a solution is given to reflected backward doubly stochastic differential equations when the barrier is not necessarily right-continuous, and the noise is driven by two independent Brownian motions and an independent Poisson random measure. The existence and uniqueness of the solution is shown, firstly when the coefficients are stochastic Lipschitz, and secondly by weakening the conditions on the stochastic growth coefficient.
We study a class of backward doubly stochastic differential equations (BDSDEs) involving martingales with spatial parameters, and show that they provide probabilistic interpretations (Feynman-Kac formulae) for certain semilinear stochastic partial differential equations (SPDEs) with space-time noise. As an application of the Feynman-Kac formulae, random periodic solutions and stationary solutions to certain SPDEs are obtained.
In this paper, we first prove existence and uniqueness of the solution of a backward doubly stochastic differential equation (BDSDE) and of the related stochastic partial differential equation (SPDE) under monotonicity assumption on the generator. Then we study the case where the terminal data is singular, in the sense that it can be equal to +$\infty$ on a set of positive measure. In this setting we show that there exists a minimal solution, both for the BDSDE and for the SPDE. Note that solution of the SPDE means weak solution in the Sobolev sense.
In this article, we are interested in solving numerically backward doubly stochastic differential equations (BDSDEs) with random terminal time tau. The main motivations are giving a probabilistic representation of the Sobolev's solution of Dirichlet problem for semilinear SPDEs and providing the numerical scheme for such SPDEs. Thus, we study the strong approximation of this class of BDSDEs when tau is the first exit time of a forward SDE from a cylindrical domain. Euler schemes and bounds for the discrete-time approximation error are provided.
Mean-field backward doubly stochastic differential equations (MF-BDSDEs, for short) are introduced and studied. The existence and uniqueness of solutions for MF-BDSDEs is established. One probabilistic interpretation for the solutions to a class of nonlocal stochastic partial differential equations (SPDEs, for short) is given. A Pontryagin's type maximum principle is established for optimal control problem of MF-BDSDEs. Finally, one backward linear quadratic problem of mean-field type is discussed to illustrate the direct application of above maximum principle.
In this paper we study the class of backward doubly stochastic differential equations (BDSDEs, for short) whose terminal value depends on the history of forward diffusion. We first establish a probabilistic representation for the spatial gradient of the stochastic viscosity solution to a quasilinear parabolic SPDE in the spirit of the Feynman-Kac formula, without using the derivatives of the coefficients of the corresponding BDSDE. Then such a representation leads to a closed-form representation of the martingale integrand of BDSDE, under only standard Lipschitz condition on the coefficients.
In this paper we investigate mean-field backward doubly stochastic differential equations (BDSDEs), i.e., BDSDEs whose driving coefficients also depend on the joint law of the solution process as well as the solution of an associated mean-field forward SDE. Unlike the pioneering paper on BDSDEs by Pardoux-Peng (1994), we handle a driving coefficient in the backward integral of the BDSDE for which the Lipschitz assumption w.r.t. the law of the solution is sufficient, without assuming that this Lipschitz constant is small enough. On the other hand, as the parameters $(x,P_ξ)$ and $(x,P_ξ,y)$ run…
In this paper, we study backward doubly stochastic differential equations driven by Brownian motions and Poisson process (BDSDEP in short) with non-Lipschitz coefficients on random time interval. The probabilistic interpretation for the solutions to a class of quasilinear stochastic partial differential-integral equations (SPDIEs in short) is tthe solutionBDSDEP. Under non-Lipschitz conditions, the existence and uniqueness results for measurable solutions of BDSDEP are established via the smoothing technique. Then, the continuous dependence for solutions of BDSDEP is derived. Finally, the prob…
In this paper, we deal with one dimensional backward doubly stochastic differential equations (BDSDEs) where the coefficient is left Lipschitz in y (may be discontinuous) and uniformly continuous in z. We obtain a generalized comparison theorem and a generalized existence theorem of BDSDEs .
We deal with reflected solutions of anticipated backward doubly stochastic differential equations (RABDSDEs) driven by Teugels martingales associated with Lévy process under a Lipschitz generator where the coefficients of these BDSDEs depend on the future and present value of the solution $\left( Y,Z\right) $. Also we study the existence of a solution for anticipated BDSDEs.
In this work the existence of solutions of one-dimensional backward dou- bly stochastic differential equations (BDSDEs in short) where the coefficient is left-Lipschitz in y (may be discontinuous) and Lipschitz in z is studied. Also, the associated comparison theorem is obtained.
In this paper we establish the strong existence, pathwise uniqueness and a comparison theorem to a stochastic partial differential equation driven by Gaussian colored noise with non-Lipschitz drift, Hölder continuous diffusion coefficients and the spatial domain in finite interval, $[0,1]$, and with Dirichlet, Neumann or mixed nonhomogeneous random conditions imposed on the endpoints. The Hölder continuity of the solution both in time and in space variables is also studied.
We present several results on the smoothness in $L_{p}$ sense of filtering densities under the Lipschitz continuity assumption on the coefficients of a partially observable diffusion processes. We obtain them by rewriting in divergence form filtering equation which are usually considered in terms of formally adjoint to operators in nondivergence form.
This paper, is an attempt to extend the notion of stochastic viscosity solution to reflected semi-linear stochastic partial differential equations (RSPDEs, in short) with non-Lipschitz condition on the coefficients. Our method is fully probabilistic and use the recently developed theory on reflected backward doubly stochastic differential equations (RBDSDEs, in short). Among other, we prove the existence of the stochastic viscosity solution, and further extend the nonlinear Feynman-Kac formula to reflected SPDEs, like one appear in \cite{2}. Indeed, in their recent work, Aman and Mrhardy \cite…
We establish the moderate deviation principle for the solutions of a class of stochastic partial differential equations with non-Lipschitz continuous coefficients. As an application, we derive the moderate deviation principle for two important population models: super-Brownian motion and Fleming-Viot process.
We prove an $L^2$-regularity result for the solutions of Forward Backward Doubly Stochastic Differentiel Equations (FBDSDEs in short) under globally Lipschitz continuous assumptions on the coefficients. Therefore, we extend the well known regularity results established by Zhang (2004) for Forward Backward Stochastic Differential Equations (FBSDEs in short) to the doubly stochastic framework. To this end, we prove (by Malliavin calculus) a representation result for the martingale component of the solution of the F-BDSDE under the assumption that the coefficients are continuous in time and conti…
In this work, we study a class of non-autonomous two-time-scale stochastic reaction-diffusion equations driven by Poisson random measures, in which the coefficients satisfy the polynomial growth condition and local Lipschitz condition. First, the existence and uniqueness of the mild solution are proved by constructing auxiliary equations and using the technique of stopping time. Then, consider that the time dependent of the coefficients, the averaged equation is redefined by studying the existence of time-dependent evolution family of measures associated with the frozen fast equation. Further,…
In this book we establish under suitable assumptions the uniqueness and existence of viscosity solutions of Kolmogorov backward equations for stochastic partial differential equations (SPDEs). In addition, we show that this solution is the semigroup of the corresponding SPDE. This generalizes the Feynman-Kac formula to SPDEs and establishes a link between solutions of Kolmogorov equations and solutions of the corresponding SPDEs. In contrast to the literature we only assume that the nonlinear part of the drift is Lipschitz continuous on bounded sets (and not globally Lipschitz continuous) and …
The main objective of this work is to characterize the pathwise local structure of solutions of semilinear stochastic evolution equations (see's) and stochastic partial differential equations (spde's) near stationary solutions. Such characterization is realized through the long-term behavior of the solution field near stationary points. The analysis falls in two parts I, II. In Part I (this paper), we prove a general existence and compactness theorem for $C^k$-cocycles of semilinear see's and spde's. Our results cover a large class of semilinear see's as well as certain semilinear spde's with …
In this article, we consider a stochastic partial differential equation (SPDE) driven by a Lévy white noise, with Lipschitz multiplicative term $σ$. We prove that under some conditions, this equation has a unique random field solution. These conditions are verified by the stochastic heat and wave equations. We introduce the basic elements of Malliavin calculus with respect to the compensated Poisson random measure associated with the Lévy white noise. If $σ$ is affine, we prove that the solution is Malliavin differentiable and its Malliavin derivative satisfies a stochastic integral equation.
In this paper we show that the Cahn-Hilliard stochastic SPDE has a function valued solution in dimension 4 and 5 when the perturbation is driven by a space-correlated Gaussian noise. This is done proving general results on SPDEs with globally Lipschitz coefficients associated with operators on smooth domains of $\mathbb{R}^d$ which are parabolic in the sense of Petrovskii}, and do not necessarily define a semi-group of operators. We study the regularity of the trajectories of the solutions and the absolute continuity of the law at some given time and position.
Strong and weak approximation errors of a spatial finite element method are analyzed for stochastic partial differential equations(SPDEs) with one-sided Lipschitz coefficients, including the stochastic Allen--Cahn equation, driven by additive noise. In order to give the strong convergence rate of the finite element method, we present an appropriate decomposition and some a priori estimates of the discrete stochastic convolution. To the best of our knowledge, there has been no essentially sharp weak convergence rate of spatial approximation for parabolic SPDEs with non-globally Lipschitz coeffi…
In this article, we consider the quasi-linear stochastic wave and heat equations on the real line and with an additive Gaussian noise which is white in time and behaves in space like a fractional Brownian motion with Hurst index $H\in (0,1)$. The drift term is assumed to be globally Lipschitz. We prove that the solution of each of the above equations is continuous in terms of the index $H$, with respect to the convergence in law in the space of continuous functions.
Relying on the method developed in [debusscheromito2014], we prove the existence of a density for two different examples of random fields indexed by $(t,x)\in(0,T]\times \Rd$. The first example consists of SPDEs with Lipschitz continuous coefficients driven by a Gaussian noise white in time and with a stationary spatial covariance, in the setting of [dalang1999]. The density exists on the set where the nonlinearity $σ$ of the noise does not vanish. This complements the results in [sanzsuess2015] where $σ$ is assumed to be bounded away from zero. The second example is an ambit field with a stoc…
For the class of stochastic partial differential equations studied in [Conus-Dalang,2008], we prove the existence of density of the probability law of the solution at a given point $(t,x)$, and that the density belongs to some Besov space. The proof relies on the method developed in [Debussche-Romito, 2014]. The result can be applied to the solution of the stochastic wave equation with multiplicative noise, Lipschitz coefficients and any spatial dimension $d\ge 1$, and also to the heat equation. This provides an extension of the results proved in [Sanz-Solé and Süß, 2013].
We prove existence and uniqueness of solutions to a class of stochastic semilinear evolution equations with a monotone nonlinear drift term and multiplicative noise, considerably extending corresponding results obtained in previous work of ours. In particular, we assume the initial datum to be only measurable and we allow the diffusion coefficient to be locally Lipschitz-continuous. Moreover, we show, in a quantitative fashion, how the finiteness of the $p$-th moment of solutions depends on the integrability of the initial datum, in the whole range $p \in ]0,\infty[$. Lipschitz continuity of t…
We obtain estimates on the first-order Malliavin derivative of mild solutions, evaluated at fixed points in time and space, to a class of parabolic dissipative stochastic PDEs on bounded domain of $\mathbb{R}^d$. In particular, such equations are driven by multiplicative Wiener noise and the nonlinear drift term is the superposition operator associated to a locally Lipschitz continuous function satisfying suitable polynomial growth bounds. The main arguments rely on the well-posedness theory in the mild sense for stochastic evolution equations in Banach spaces, monotonicity, and a comparison p…
Consider a parabolic stochastic PDE of the form $\partial_t u=\frac{1}{2}Δu + σ(u)η$, where $u=u(t\,,x)$ for $t\ge0$ and $x\in\mathbb{R}^d$, $σ:\mathbb{R}\to\mathbb{R}$ is Lipschitz continuous and non random, and $η$ is a centered Gaussian noise that is white in time and colored in space, with a possibly-signed homogeneous spatial correlation function $f$. If, in addition, $u(0)\equiv1$, then we prove that, under a mild decay condition on $f$, the process $x\mapsto u(t\,,x)$ is stationary and ergodic at all times $t>0$. It has been argued that, when coupled with moment estimates, spatial ergod…
We consider a class of semilinear stochastic evolution equations driven by an additive cylindrical stable noise. We investigate structural properties of the solutions like Markov, irreducibility, stochastic continuity, Feller and strong Feller properties, and study integrability of trajectories. The obtained results can be applied to semilinear stochastic heat equations with Dirichlet boundary conditions and bounded and Lipschitz nonlinearities.
In this note, we study the non-linear evolution problem $dY_t = -A Y_t dt + B(Y_t) dX_t$, where $X$ is a $γ$-Hölder continuous function of the time parameter, with values in a distribution space, and $-A$ the generator of an analytical semigroup. Then, we will give some sharp conditions on $X$ in order to solve the above equation in a function space, first in the linear case (for any value of $γ$ in $(0,1)$), and then when $B$ satisfies some Lipschitz type conditions (for $γ>1/2$). The solution of the evolution problem will be understood in the mild sense, and the integrals involved in that de…
In this paper we study the pathwise uniqueness of solution to the following stochastic partial differential equation (SPDE) with Hölder continuous coefficient: \begin{eqnarray*} \frac{\partial X_t(x)}{\partial t}=\frac{1}{2} ΔX_t(x) +G(X_t(x))+H(X_{t-}(x)) \dot{L}_t(x),~~~ t>0, ~x\in\mathbb{R}, \end{eqnarray*} where $\dot{L}$ denotes an $α$-stable white noise on $\mathbb{R}_+\times \mathbb{R}$ without negative jumps, $G$ satisfies the Lipschitz condition and $H$ is nondecreasing and $β$-Hölder continuous for $1<α<2$ and $0<β<1$. For $G\equiv0$ and $H(x)=x^β$, in Mytnik (2002) a weak solution t…
In this paper, we first study the existence-uniqueness and large deviation estimate of solutions for stochastic Volterra integral equations with singular kernels in 2-smooth Banach spaces. Then, we apply them to a large class of semilinear stochastic partial differential equations (SPDE) driven by Brownian motions as well as by fractional Brownian motions, and obtain the existence of unique maximal strong solutions (in the sense of SDE and PDE) under local Lipschitz conditions. Lastly, high order SPDEs in a bounded domain of Euclidean space, second order SPDEs on complete Riemannian manifolds,…
We study four systems and their interactions. First, we formulate a unified system of coupled forward-backward stochastic partial differential equations (FB-SPDEs) with Levy jumps, whose drift, diffusion, and jump coefficients may involve partial differential operators. A solution to the FB-SPDEs is defined by a 4-tuple general dimensional random vector-field process evolving in time together with position parameters over a domain (e.g., a hyperbox or a manifold). Under an infinite sequence of generalized local linear growth and Lipschitz conditions, the well-posedness of an adapted 4-tuple st…
We consider a stochastic heat equation of the type, $\partial_t u = \partial^2_x u + σ(u)\dot{W}$ on $(0\,,\infty)\times[-1\,,1]$ with periodic boundary conditions and on-degenerate positive initial data, where $σ:\mathbb{R} \to\mathbb{R}$ is a non-random Lipschitz continuous function and $\dot{W}$ denotes space-time white noise. If additionally $σ(0)=0$ then the solution is known to be strictly positive; see Mueller '91. In that case, we prove that the oscillation of the logarithm of the solution decays sublinearly as time tends to infinity. Among other things, it follows that, with probabili…
We establish n-th order Fréchet differentiability with respect to the initial datum of mild solutions to a class of jump-diffusions in Hilbert spaces. In particular, the coefficients are Lipschitz continuous, but their derivatives of order higher than one can grow polynomially, and the (multiplicative) noise sources are a cylindrical Wiener process and a quasi-left-continuous integer-valued random measure. As preliminary steps, we prove well-posedness in the mild sense for this class of equations, as well as first-order Gâteaux differentiability of their solutions with respect to the initial d…
The regularity and characterization of solutions to degenerate, quasilinear SPDE is studied. Our results are two-fold: First, we prove regularity results for solutions to certain degenerate, quasilinear SPDE driven by Lipschitz continuous noise. In particular, this provides a characterization of solutions to such SPDE in terms of (generalized) strong solutions. Second, for the one-dimensional stochastic mean curvature flow with normal noise we adapt the notion of stochastic variational inequalities to provide a characterization of solutions previously obtained in a limiting sense only. This so…
We study a reaction-diffusion evolution equation perturbed by a space-time Lévy noise. The associated Kolmogorov operator is the sum of the infinitesimal generator of a $C_0$-semigroup of strictly negative type acting in a Hilbert space and a nonlinear term which has at most polynomial growth, is non necessarily Lipschitz and is such that the whole system is dissipative. The corresponding Itô stochastic equation describes a process on a Hilbert space with dissi- pative nonlinear, non globally Lipschitz drift and a Lévy noise. Under smoothness assumptions on the non-linearity, asymptotics to al…
In this paper we investigate a nonlinear stochastic partial differential equation (spde in short) perturbed by a space-correlated Gaussian noise in arbitrary dimension $d\geq1$, with a non-Lipschitz coefficient noisy term. The equation studied coincides in one dimension with the stochastic Burgers equation. Existence of a weak solution is established through an approximation procedure.
We study Malliavin differentiability of solutions to sub-critical singular parabolic stochastic partial differential equations (SPDEs) and we prove the existence of densities for a class of singular SPDEs. Both of these results are implemented in the setting of regularity structures. For this we construct renormalized models in situations where some of the driving noises are replaced by deterministic Cameron-Martin functions, and we show Lipschitz continuity of these models with respect to the Cameron-Martin norm. In particular, in many interesting situations we obtain a convergence and stabil…
This article is dedicated to the study of an SPDE of the form $$Lu(t,x)=σ(u(t,x))\dot{Z}(t,x) \quad t>0, x \in \cO$$ with zero initial conditions and Dirichlet boundary conditions, where $σ$ is a Lipschitz function, $L$ is a second-order pseudo-differential operator, $\cO$ is a bounded domain in $\bR^d$, and $\dot{Z}$ is an $α$-stable Lévy noise with $α\in (0,2)$, $α\not=1$ and possibly non-symmetric tails. To give a meaning to the concept of solution, we develop a theory of stochastic integration with respect to $Z$, by generalizing the method of Giné and Marcus (1983) to higher dimensions an…
