We compare the compactness of composition operators on $H^2$ and on Orlicz-Hardy spaces $H^Ψ$. We show in particular that exists an Orlicz function $Ψ$ such that $H^{3+\eps} \subseteq H^Ψ\subseteq H^3$ for every $\eps >0$, and a composition operator $C_ϕ$ which is compact on $H^3$ and on $H^{3+\eps}$, but not compact on $H^Ψ$.
It is known, from results of B. MacCluer and J. Shapiro (1986), that every composition operator which is compact on the Hardy space $H^p$, $1 \leq p < \infty$, is also compact on the Bergman space ${\mathfrak B}^p = L^p_a (\D)$. In this survey, after having described the above known results, we consider Hardy-Orlicz $H^Ψ$ and Bergman-Orlicz ${\mathfrak B}^Ψ$ spaces, characterize the compactness of their composition operators, and show that there exist Orlicz functions for which there are composition operators which are compact on $H^Ψ$ but not on ${\mathfrak B}^Ψ$.
Using recent characterizations of the compactness of composition operators on Hardy-Orlicz and Bergman-Orlicz spaces on the ball, we first show that a composition operator which is compact on every Hardy-Orlicz (or Bergman-Orlicz) space has to be compact on H^{\infty}. Then, we prove that, for each Koranyi region Γ, there exists a map ϕtaking the ball into Γsuch that, C_ϕ is not compact on H^ψ\left(\mathbb{B}_{N}\right), when ψgrows fast. Finally, we give another characterization of the compactness of composition operator on weighted Bergman-Orlicz spaces in terms of an Orlicz "Angular derivat…
For the Hardy-Littlewood maximal and Calderón-Zygmund operators, the weighted boundedness on the Lebesgue spaces are well known. We extend these to the Orlicz-Morrey spaces. Moreover, we prove the weighted boundedness on the weak Orlicz-Morrey spaces. To do this we show the weak-weak modular inequality. The Orlicz-Morrey space and its weak version contain weighted Orlicz, Morrey and Lebesgue spaces and their weak versions as special cases. Then we also get the boundedness for these function spaces as corollaries.
We investigate composition operators on Hardy-Orlicz spaces when the Orlicz function $Ψ$ grows rapidly: compactness, weak compactness, to be $p$-summing, order bounded,..., and show how these notions behave according to the growth of $Ψ$. We introduce an adapted version of Carleson measure. We construct various examples showing that our results are essentially sharp. In the last part, we study the case of Bergman-Orlicz spaces.
We introduce noncommutative weak Orlicz spaces associated with a weight and study their properties. We also define noncommutative weak Orlicz-Hardy spaces and characterize their dual spaces.
We study multipliers of Hardy-Orlicz spaces $\mH_Φ$ which are strictly contained between $\bigcup_{p>0}H^p$ and so-called ``big'' Hardy-Orlicz spaces. Big Hardy-Orlicz spaces, carrying an algebraic structure, are equal to their multiplier algebra, whereas in classical Hardy spaces $H^p$, the multipliers reduce to $H^{\infty}$. For Hardy-Orlicz spaces $\mH_Φ$ between these two extremal situations and subject to some conditions, we exhibit multipliers that are in Hardy-Orlicz spaces the defining functions of which are related to $Φ$. Even if the results do not entirely characterize the multiplie…
In this paper, several weak Orlicz-Hardy martingale spaces associated with concave functions are introduced, and some weak atomic decomposition theorems for them are established. With the help of weak atomic decompositions, a sufficient condition for a sublinear operator defined on the weak Orlicz-Hardy martingale spaces to be bounded is given. Further, we investigate the duality of weak Orlicz-Hardy martingale spaces and obtain a new John-Nirenberg type inequality when the stochastic basis is regular. These results can be regarded as weak versions of the Orlicz-Hardy martingale spaces due to …
We provide sufficient conditions for boundary Hardy inequality to hold in bounded Lipschitz domains, complement of a point (the so-called point Hardy inequality), domain above the graph of a Lipschitz function, the complement of a bounded Lipschitz domain in fractional Orlicz-Sobolev setting. As a consequence, we get sufficient conditions for regional fractional Orlicz Poincaré inequality in bounded Lipschitz domains. Necessary conditions for fractional Orlicz Hardy and regional fractional Orlicz Poincaré inequalities are also given for bounded Lipschitz domains. Various sufficient conditions …
We study sharp growth conditions for the boundedness of the Hardy-Littlewood maximal function in the generalized Orlicz spaces. We assume that the generalized Orlicz function $ϕ(x, t)$ satisfies the standard continuity properties (A0), (A1) and (A2). We show that if the Hardy-Littlewood maximal function is bounded from the generalized Orlicz space to itself then $ϕ(x,t)/ t^p$ is almost increasing for large $t$ for some $p>1$. Moreover we show that the Hardy-Littlewood maximal function is bounded from the generalized Orlicz space $L^ϕ(\mathbb{R}^n)$ to itself if and only if $ϕ$ is weakly equiva…
In this article, the authors first introduce a class of Orlicz-slice spaces which generalize the slice spaces recently studied by P. Auscher et al. Based on these Orlicz-slice spaces, the authors introduce a new kind of Hardy type spaces, the Orlicz-slice Hardy spaces, via the radial maximal functions. This new scale of Orlicz-slice Hardy spaces contains the variant of the Orlicz-Hardy space of A. Bonami and J. Feuto as well as the Hardy-amalgam space of Z. V. de P. Ablé and J. Feuto as special cases. Their characterizations via the atom, the molecule, various maximal functions, the Poisson in…
Let $(Ω,\mathcal{F},\mathbb{P})$ be a probability space and $φ:\ Ω\times[0,\infty)\to [0,\infty)$ be a Musielak--Orlicz function. In this article, the authors establish the atomic characterizations of weak martingale Musielak--Orlicz Hardy spaces $WH_φ^s(Ω)$, $WH_φ^M(Ω)$, $WH_φ^S(Ω)$, $WP_φ(Ω)$ and $WQ_φ(Ω)$. Using these atomic characterizations, the authors then obtain the boundedness of sublinear operators from weak martingale Musielak--Orlicz Hardy spaces to weak Musielak--Orlicz spaces, and some martingale inequalities which further clarify the relationships among $WH_φ^s(Ω)$, $WH_φ^M(Ω)$,…
We show that the weighted Bergman-Orlicz space $A\_α^ψ$ coincides with some weighted Banach space of holomorphic functions if and only if the Orlicz function $ψ$ satisfies the so-called $Δ^{2}$--condition. In addition we prove that this condition characterizes those $A\_α^ψ$ on which every composition operator is bounded or order bounded into the Orlicz space $L\_α^ψ$. This provides us with estimates of the norm and the essential norm of composition operators on such spaces. We also prove that when $ψ$ satisfies the $Δ^{2}$--condition, a composition operator is compact on $A\_α^ψ$ if and only …

In this paper, we consider the predual spaces of weak Orlicz spaces. As an application, we provide the Fefferman-Stein vector-valued maximal inequality for the weak Orlicz spaces. In order to prove this statement, we introduced the Orlicz-Lorentz spaces, and showed the boundedness of the Hardy-Littlewood maximal operator on these spaces.
We introduce a new class of Hardy spaces $H^{φ(\cdot,\cdot)}(\mathbb R^n)$, called Hardy spaces of Musielak-Orlicz type, which generalize the Hardy-Orlicz spaces of Janson and the weighted Hardy spaces of García-Cuerva, Strömberg, and Torchinsky. Here, $φ: \mathbb R^n\times [0,\infty)\to [0,\infty)$ is a function such that $φ(x,\cdot)$ is an Orlicz function and $φ(\cdot,t)$ is a Muckenhoupt $A_\infty$ weight. A function $f$ belongs to $H^{φ(\cdot,\cdot)}(\mathbb R^n)$ if and only if its maximal function $f^*$ is so that $x\mapsto φ(x,|f^*(x)|)$ is integrable. Such a space arises naturally for …
Lusin Area Function and Molecular Characterizations of Musielak-Orlicz Hardy Spaces and Their ApplicationsLet $φ: \mathbb R^n\times [0,\infty)\to[0,\infty)$ be a growth function such that $φ(x,\cdot)$ is nondecreasing, $φ(x,0)=0$, $φ(x,t)>0$ when $t>0$, $\lim_{t\to\infty}φ(x,t)=\infty$, and $φ(\cdot,t)$ is a Muckenhoupt $A_\infty(\mathbb{R}^n)$ weight uniformly in $t$. In this paper, the authors establish the Lusin area function and the molecular characterizations of the Musielak-Orlicz Hardy space $H_φ(\mathbb{R}^n)$ introduced by Luong Dang Ky via the grand maximal function. We study the Hardy-Littlewood maximal operator in the Musielak-Orlicz-Sobolev space $W^{1,φ}(\mathbb{R}^n)$. Under some natural assumptions on $φ$ we show that the maximal function is bounded and continuous in $W^{1,φ}(\mathbb{R}^n)$.
Let $φ: {\mathbb R^n}\times [0,\infty)\to[0,\infty)$ be such that $φ(x,\cdot)$ is an Orlicz function and $φ(\cdot,t)$ is a Muckenhoupt $A_\infty({\mathbb R^n})$ weight. The Musielak-Orlicz Hardy space $H^φ(\mathbb R^n)$ is defined to be the space of all $f\in{\mathcal S}'({\mathbb R^n})$ such that the grand maximal function $f^*$ belongs to the Musielak-Orlicz space $L^φ(\mathbb R^n)$. Luong Dang Ky established its atomic characterization. In this paper, the authors establish some new real-variable characterizations of $H^φ(\mathbb R^n)$ in terms of the vertical or the non-tangential maximal f…
In this paper we characterize Li-Yorke chaotic composition operators on Orlicz spaces. Indeed some necessary and suffcient conditions are provided for Li-Yorke chaotic composition operator C' on the Orlicz space Lp. In some cases we have equivalent conditions for composition operators on Orlicz spaces to be Li-Yorke chaotic. The results of this paper extend similar results in Lp-spaces. Our results are essentially based on the results of [4].
In this paper, we investige the concept of expansivity for composition operators on Orlicz-Lorentz spaces. We study necessary and sufficient conditions for expansivity, positive expansivity and uniformly expansivity for composition operators $C_τ$ on $\mathbb{L}^{φ,h}(μ)$. We extend the of results of [15] into Orlicz-Lorentz spaces
We construct an analytic self-map $ϕ$ of the unit disk and an Orlicz function $Ψ$ for which the composition operator of symbol $ϕ$ is compact on the Hardy-Orlicz space $H^Ψ$, but not compact on the Bergman-Orlicz space ${\mathfrak B}^Ψ$. For that, we first prove a Carleson embedding theorem, and then characterize the compactness of composition operators on Bergman-Orlicz spaces, in terms of Carleson function (of order 2). We show that this Carleson function is equivalent to the Nevanlinna counting function of order 2.
Let $L$ be a non-negative self-adjoint operator on $L^2(\mathbb{R}^n)$ whose heat kernels have the Gaussian upper bound estimates. Assume that the growth function $φ:\,\mathbb{R}^n\times[0,\infty) \to[0,\infty)$ satisfies that $φ(x,\cdot)$ is an Orlicz function and $φ(\cdot,t)\in {\mathbb A}_{\infty}(\mathbb{R}^n)$ (the class of uniformly Muckenhoupt weights). Let $H_{φ,\,L}(\mathbb{R}^n)$ be the Musielak-Orlicz-Hardy space introduced via the Lusin area function associated with the heat semigroup of $L$. In this article, the authors obtain several maximal function characterizations of the spac…
In this paper, we study the Li-Yorke chaotic composition operators on Orlicz-Lorentz space. In fact, necessary and sufficient conditions are given for Li-Yorke chaotic composition operator $C_τ$ on $\mathbb{L}^{φ,h}(μ)$. Further, we present the equivalent conditions for $C_τ$ to be Li-Yorke chaotic. This paper's results are the generalization of results of [15] into Orlicz-Lorentz spaces.
Let $Ω$ be a strongly Lipschitz domain of $\mathbb{R}^n$, whose complement in $\mathbb{R}^n$ is unbounded. Let $L$ be a second order divergence form elliptic operator on $L^2 (Ω)$ with the Dirichlet boundary condition, and the heat semigroup generated by $L$ have the Gaussian property $(G_{\mathrm{diam}(Ω)})$ with the regularity of their kernels measured by $μ\in(0,1]$, where $\mathrm{diam}(Ω)$ denotes the diameter of $Ω$. Let $Φ$ be a continuous, strictly increasing, subadditive and positive function on $(0,\infty)$ of upper type 1 and of strictly critical lower type $p_Φ\in(n/(n+μ),1]$. In t…
Let $Ω$ be either $\mathbb{R}^n$ or an unbounded strongly Lipschitz domain of $\mathbb{R}^n$, and $Φ$ be a continuous, strictly increasing, subadditive and positive function on $(0,\infty)$ of upper type 1 and of strictly critical lower type $p_Φ\in(n/(n+1),1]$. Let $L$ be a divergence form elliptic operator on $L^2 (Ω)$ with the Neumann boundary condition and the heat semigroup generated by $L$ have the Gaussian property $(G_{\infty})$. Let $φ$ be a Musielak-Orlicz function satisfying that, for any $(x,\,t)\in\mathbb{R}^n\times(0,\,\infty)$, $φ(\cdot,\,t)$ belongs to the Muckenhoupt weight class $A_\infty (\mathbb{R}^n)$ with the critical weight exponent $q(φ)\in[1,\,\infty)$ and $φ(x,\,\cdot)$ is an Orlicz function with $0<i(φ)\le I(φ)\le 1$ which are, respectively, its critical lower type and upper type. In this article, the authors establish the Riesz transform characterizations of the Musielak-Orlicz-Hardy spaces $H_φ(\mathbb{R}^n)$ which are generalizations of weighted Hardy spaces and Orlicz-Hardy spaces. Precisely, the…
We give necessary and sufficient conditions for the boundedness of generalized fractional integral and maximal operators on Orlicz-Morrey and weak Orlicz-Morrey spaces. To do this we prove the weak-weak type modular inequality of the Hardy-Littlewood maximal operator with respect to the Young function. Orlicz-Morrey spaces contain $L^p$ spaces ($1\le p\le\infty$), Orlicz spaces and generalized Morrey spaces as special cases. Hence we get necessary and sufficient conditions on these function spaces as corollaries.
In this paper we consider composition operator $C_φ generated by nonsingular measurable transformation $T$ and multiplication operator $M_u$ generated by measurable function $u$ between two different Orlicz spaces, then we investigate boundedness, compactness and essential norm of multiplication and composition operators in term of properties of the mapping $φ$, the function $u$ and the measure space $(X, Σ, μ)$.
The optimal Orlicz target space is exhibited for embeddings of fractional-order Orlicz-Sobolev spaces in $\mathbb R^n$. An improved embedding with an Orlicz-Lorentz target space, which is optimal in the broader class of all rearrangement-invariant spaces, is also established. Both spaces of order $s\in (0,1)$, and higher-order spaces are considered. Related Hardy type inequalities are proposed as well. An extension theorem is proved, that enables us to derive embeddings for spaces defined in Lipschitz domains. Necessary and sufficient conditions for the compactness of fractional Orlicz-Sobolev…

Recently, both the bilinear decompositions $h^1(\mathbb{R}^n)\times \mathrm{\,bmo}(\mathbb{R}^n) \subset L^1 (\mathbb{R}^n)+h_\ast^Φ(\mathbb{R}^n)$ and $h^1(\mathbb{R}^n) \times \mathrm{bmo}(\mathbb{R}^n) \subset L^1 (\mathbb{R}^n) + h^{\log}(\mathbb{R}^n)$ were established. In this article, the authors prove in some sense that the former is sharp, while the latter is not. To this end, the authors first introduce the local Orlicz-slice Hardy space which contains the variant $h_\ast^Φ(\mathbb{R}^n)$ of the local Orlicz Hardy space introduced by A. Bonami and J. Feuto as a special case, and obta…
In this paper we prove a plenty of new results concerning summabililty properties of multilinear mappings between Banach spaces, such as an extension of Littlewood's 4/3 Theorem. Among other features, it is shown that every continuous n-linear form on the disc algebra or the Hardy space is (1;2,...,2)-summing, the role of the Littlewood-Orlicz property in the theory is established and the interplay with almost summing multilinear mappings is explored.

We give examples of results on composition operators connected with lens maps. The first two concern the approximation numbers of those operators acting on the usual Hardy space $H^2$. The last ones are connected with Hardy-Orlicz and Bergman-Orlicz spaces $H^ψ$ and $B^ψ$, and provide a negative answer to the question of knowing if all composition operators which are weakly compact on a non-reflexive space are norm-compact.
For a measure space $(Ω, Σ, μ)$ with a positive finite measure $μ$, and a positive real number $p$, we define the space $L_p^{+}(μ)=L_p^{+}$ of all (equivalence classes of) $Σ$-measurable complex functions $f$ defined on $Ω$ such that the function $\left(\log^+|f|\right)^p$ is integrable with respect to $μ$.We define the metric $d_p$ on $L^{+}_p$ which generalizes the metric introduced by Gamelin and Lumer in [G] for the case $p=1$. It is shown that the space $L^{+}_p$ is a topological algebra. On the other hand, one can define on the space $L_p^{+}$ an equivalent $F$-norm $| \cdot|_p$ that ma…

The kernel of composition operator $C_T$ on Orlicz-Sobolev space is obtained. Using the kernel, a necessary and a sufficient condition for injectivity of composition operator $C_T$ has been established. Composition operators on Orlicz-Sobolev space with finite ascent as well as infinite ascent have been characterized.
The main goal of this paper is to prove a two-weight criteria for multidimensio-nal Hardy type operator from weighted Lebesgue spaces into $p$-convex weighted Banach function spaces. Analogously problem for the dual operator is considered. As application we prove a two-weight criteria for boundedness of multidimensional geometric mean operator and sufficient condition on the weights for boundedness of certain sublinear operator from weighted Lebesgue spaces into weighted Musielak-Orlicz spaces.
