We rederive in a simplified version the Lehmann-Sommers eigenvalue distribution for the Gaussian ensemble of asymmetric real matrices, invariant under real orthogonal transformations, as a basis for a detailed derivation of a Pfaffian generating functional for $n$-point densities. This produces a simple free-fermion diagram expansion for the correlations leading to quaternion determinants in each order n. All will explicitly be given with the help of a very simple symplectic kernel for even dimension $N$. The kernel is valid both for complex and real eigenvalues and describes a deep connection between both. A slight modification by an artificial additional Grassmannian solves also the more complicated odd-$N$ case. As illustration we present some numerical results in the space $\mathbb{C}^n$ of complex eigenvalue $n$-tuples.
Recently, Sá, Ribeiro and Prosen introduced complex spacing ratios to analyze eigenvalue correlations in non-Hermitian systems. At present there are no analytical results for the probability distribution of these ratios in the limit of large system size. We derive an approximation formula for the Ginibre universality class of random matrix theory which converges exponentially fast to the limit of infinite matrix size. We also give results for moments of the distribution in this limit.
Non-Hermitian random matrices enjoy non-trivial correlations in the statistics of their eigenvectors. We study the overlap among left and right eigenvectors in Ginibre ensembles with quaternion valued Gaussian matrix elements. This concept was introduced by Chalker and Mehlig in the complex Ginibre ensemble. Using a Schur decomposition, for harmonic potentials we can express the overlap in terms of complex eigenvalues only, coming in conjugate pairs in this symmetry class. Its expectation value leads to a Pfaffian determinant, for which we explicitly compute the matrix elements for the induced…
We study the ensemble of a product of n complex Gaussian i.i.d. matrices. We find this ensemble is Gaussian with a variance matrix which is averaged over a multi-Wishart ensemble. We compute the mixed moments and find that at large $N$, they are given by an enumeration of non-crossing pairings weighted by Fuss-Catalan numbers.
We study the Ginibre ensemble of $N \times N$ complex random matrices and compute exactly, for any finite $N$, the full distribution as well as all the cumulants of the number $N_r$ of eigenvalues within a disk of radius $r$ centered at the origin. In the limit of large $N$, when the average density of eigenvalues becomes uniform over the unit disk, we show that for $0<r<1$ the fluctuations of $N_r$ around its mean value $\langle N_r \rangle \approx N r^2$ display three different regimes: (i) a typical Gaussian regime where the fluctuations are of order ${\cal O}(N^{1/4})$, (ii) an intermediat…
Entanglement entropy is a powerful tool in characterizing universal features in quantum many-body systems. In quantum chaotic Hermitian systems, typical eigenstates have near maximal entanglement with very small fluctuations. Here, we show that for Hamiltonians displaying non-Hermitian many-body quantum chaos, modeled by the Ginibre ensemble, the entanglement entropy of typical eigenstates is greatly suppressed. The entropy does not grow with the Hilbert space dimension for sufficiently large systems and the fluctuations are of equal order. We derive the novel entanglement spectrum that has in…
The Ginibre point process is given by the eigenvalue distribution of a non-hermitian complex Gaussian matrix in the infinite matrix-size limit. This is a determinantal point process (DPP) on the complex plane ${\mathbb{C}}$ in the sense that all correlation functions are given by determinants specified by an integral kernel called the correlation kernel. Shirai introduced the one-parameter ($m \in {\mathbb{N}}_0$) extensions of the Ginibre DPP and called them the Ginibre-type point processes. In the present paper we consider a generalization of the Ginibre and the Ginibre-type point processes …
