We derive a priori interior Hessian estimates for semiconvex solutions to the sigma-2 equation. An elusive Jacobi inequality, a transformation rule under the Legendre-Lewy transform, and a mean value inequality for the still nonuniformly elliptic equation without area structure are the key to our arguments. Previously, this result was known for almost convex solutions.
In this paper, we propose a coupled system of complex Hessian equations which generalizes the equation for constant scalar curvature Kähler (cscK) metrics. We show this system can be realized variationally as the Euler-Lagrange equation of a Hessian version of the Mabuchi K-energy in an infinite dimensional space of $k$-Hessian potentials, which can be seen as an infinite dimensional Riemannian manifold with negative sectional curvature. Finally, we prove an a priori $C^0$-estimate for this system which depends on the Entropy, which generalizes a fundamental result of Chen and Cheng for cscK m…

Let $Ω$ be a bounded domain (with smooth boundary) on the hyperbolic plane $\mathscr{H}^{n}(1)$, of center at origin and radius $1$, in the $(n+1)$-dimensional Lorentz-Minkowski space $\mathbb{R}^{n+1}_{1}$. In this paper, by using a priori estimates, we can establish Pogorelov type estimates of $k$-convex solutions to a class of Hessian quotient equations defined over $Ω\subset\mathscr{H}^{n}(1)$ and with the vanishing Dirichlet boundary condition.
We solve the Fu-Yau equation for arbitrary dimension and arbitrary slope $α'$. Actually we obtain at the same time a solution of the open case $α'>0$, an improved solution of the known case $α'<0$, and solutions for a family of Hessian equations which includes the Fu-Yau equation as a special case. The method is based on the introduction of a more stringent ellipticity condition than the usual $Γ_k$ admissible cone condition, and which can be shown to be preserved by precise estimates with scale.
We devote this paper to study semi-stable nonconstant radial solutions of $S_k(D^2u) = w(|x|)g(u)$ on the Euclidean space $R^n$. We establish pointwise estimates and necessary conditions for the existence of such solutions (not necessarily bounded) for this equation. For bounded solutions we estimate their asymptotic behavior at infinity. All the estimates are given in terms of the spatial dimension $n$, the values of $k$ and the behavior at infinity of the growth rate function of $w$.
We study a class of elliptic problems, involving a $k$-Hessian and a very fast-growing nonlinearity, on a unit ball. We prove the existence of a radial singular solution and obtain its exact asymptotic behavior in a neighborhood of the origin. Furthermore, we study the multiplicity of regular solutions and bifurcation diagrams. An essential ingredient of this study is analyzing the number of intersection points between the singular and regular solutions for rescaled problems. In the particular case of the exponential nonlinearity, we obtain the convergence of regular solutions to the singular …

We study the long-time behavior of solutions of the $k$-Hessian evolution equation $u_t=S_{k}(D^2 u)$, posed on a bounded domain of the $n$-dimensional space with homogeneous boundary conditions. To this end, we construct a separable solution and we show that the long-time behavior of $u$ is precisely described by this special solution. Further, we initiate the study of that dynamic phenomenon on the entire space, providing a new class of explicit and radially symmetric self-similar solutions that we call $k$-Barenblatt solutions. These solutions present some common properties as those of well…
It is well-known that a celebrated Jörgens-Calabi-Pogorelov theorem for Monge-Ampère equations states that any classical (viscosity) convex solution of $\det(D^2u)=1$ in $\mathbb{R}^n$ must be a quadratic polynomial. Therefore, it is an interesting topic to study the existence and uniqueness theorem of such fully nonlinear partial differential equations' Dirichlet problems on exterior domains with suitable asymptotic conditions at infinity. As a continuation of the works of Caffarelli-Li for Monge-Ampère equation and of Bao-Li-Li for $k$-Hessian equations, this paper is devoted to the solvabil…
We prove a vanishing result for critical points of the supersymmetric nonlinear sigma model on complete non-compact Riemannian manifolds of positive Ricci curvature that admit an Euclidean type Sobolev inequality, assuming that the dimension of the domain is bigger than two and that a certain energy is sufficiently small.
We consider the problem \begin{equation}(1)\;\;\; \begin{cases} S_k(D^2u)= λ|x|^σ (1-u)^q &\mbox{in }\;\; B,\\ u <0 & \mbox{in }\;\; B,\\ u=0 &\mbox{on }\partial B, \end{cases} \end{equation} where $B$ denotes the unit ball in $\mathbb{R}^n$, $n>2k$ ($k\in \mathbb{N}$), $λ>0$, $q > k$ and $σ\geq 0$. We study the existence, uniqueness and multiplicity of negative bounded radially symmetric solutions of (1). The methodology to obtain our results is based on a dynamical system approach. For this, we introduce a new transformation which reduces problem (1) to an autonomous two dimensional generali…
