We study the matrix models that describe the BPS bound states of branes arising from the quiver picture of the derived category. These theories have a topological partition function that localizes to the Euler character of the anti-ghost bundle over the classical BPS moduli space. We examine the effective internal geometry of D6/D2 bound states in the local vertex geometry, using BPS 0-brane probes. The Kahler blowups of the Calabi-Yau that we find utilizing these quiver theories are a realization of A-model quantum foam in the full IIA theory.
We find an interpretation of the recent connection found between topological strings on Calabi-Yau threefolds and crystal melting: Summing over statistical mechanical configuration of melting crystal is equivalent to a quantum gravitational path integral involving fluctuations of Kahler geometry and topology. We show how the limit shape of the melting crystal emerges as the average geometry and topology of the quantum foam at the string scale. The geometry is classical at large length scales, modified to a smooth limit shape dictated by mirror geometry at string scale and is a quantum foam at …
We define topological Landau-Ginzburg models on a world-sheet foam, that is, on a collection of 2-dimensional surfaces whose boundaries are sewn together along the edges of a graph. We use matrix factorizations in order to formulate the boundary conditions at these edges and produce a formula for the correlators. Finally, we present the gluing formulas, which correspond to various ways in which the pieces of a world-sheet foam can be joined together.
We study topological and integrable aspects of $\hat{c}=1$ strings. We consider the circle line theories 0A and 0B at particular radii, and the super affine theories at their self-dual radii. We construct their ground rings, identify them with certain quotients of the conifold, and suggest topological B-model descriptions. We consider the partition functions, correlators and Ward identities, and construct a Kontsevich-like matrix model. We then study all these aspects via the topological B-model description. Finally, we analyse the corresponding Dijkgraaf-Vafa type matrix models and quiver gau…
This paper proposes an axiomatic for Cyclic Foam Topological Field theories. That is Topological Field theories, corresponding to String theories, where particles are arbitrary graphs. World surfaces in this case are two-manifolds with one-dimensional singularities. We proved that Cyclic Foam Topological Field theories one-to-one correspond to graph-Cardy-Frobenius algebras, that are families $(A,B_\star,ϕ)$, where $A=\{A^s|s\in S\}$ are families of commutative associative Frobenius algebras, $B_\star = \bigoplus_{σ\inΣ} B_σ$ is an graduated by graphes, associative algebras of Frobenius type a…
We exhibit string contributions to the $\nd{S}$ matrix relating in- and out- state density matrices that do not factorize as a product of $S$ and $S^\dagger$ matrices. They are associated with valley trajectories between topological defects on the string world sheet, that appear as quantum fluctuations in the space-time foam. Through their ultraviolet cut-off dependences these valleys cause non-Hamiltonian time evolution and suppress off-diagonal entries in the density matrix at large times.
We consider a topological quiver matrix model which is expected to give a dual description of the instanton dynamics of topological U(N) gauge theory on D6 branes. The model is a higher dimensional analogue of the ADHM matrix model that leads to Nekrasov's partition function. The fixed points of the toric action on the moduli space are labeled by colored plane partitions. Assuming the localization theorem, we compute the partition function as an equivariant index. It turns out that the partition function does not depend on the vacuum expectation values of Higgs fields that break U(N) symmetry …
In this paper, we calculate the topological free energy for a number of ${\mathcal N} \geq 2$ Yang-Mills-Chern-Simons-matter theories at large $N$ and fixed Chern-Simons levels. The topological free energy is defined as the logarithm of the partition function of the theory on $S^2 \times S^1$ with a topological A-twist along $S^2$ and can be reduced to a matrix integral by exploiting the localization technique. The theories of our interest are dual to a variety of Calabi-Yau four-fold singularities, including a product of two asymptotically locally Euclidean singularities and the cone over var…
We interpret Minkowski black holes as world-sheet {\it spikes } which are related by world-sheet { \it duality} to {\it vortices } that correspond to Euclidean black holes. These world-sheet defects induce defects in the gauge fields of the corresponding coset Wess-Zumino descriptions of spherically-symmetric black holes. The low-temperature target space-time foam is a Minkowski black hole (spike) plasma with confined Euclidean black holes (vortices). The high-temperature phase is a {\it dense} vortex plasma described by a topological gauge field theory on the world-sheet, which possesses enha…
We provide a simple proof of the topological invariance of the Turaev-Viro model (corresponding to simplicial 3d pure Euclidean gravity with cosmological constant) by means of a novel diagrammatic formulation of the state sum models for quantum BF-theories. Moreover, we prove the invariance under more general conditions allowing the state sum to be defined on arbitrary cellular decompositions of the underlying manifold. Invariance is governed by a set of identities corresponding to local gluing and rearrangement of cells in the complex. Due to the fully algebraic nature of these identities our…
An approximate model of the spacetime foam is offered in which each quantum handle (wormhole) is a 5D wormhole-like solution. A spinor field is introduced for an effective description of this foam. The topological handles of the spacetime foam can be attached either to one space or connect two different spaces. In the first case we have a wormhole with the quantum throat and such object can demonstrate a model of preventing the formation the naked singularity with relation $e > m$. In the second case the spacetime foam looks as a dielectric with quantum handles as dipoles. It is supposed that …
We study effective quiver gauge theories arising from a stack of D3-branes on certain Calabi-Yau singularities. Our point of view is a first principle approach via open topological string theory. This means that we construct the natural A-infinity-structure of open string amplitudes in the associated D-brane category. Then we show that it precisely reproduces the results of the method of brane tilings, without having to resort to any effective field theory computations. In particular, we prove a general and simple formula for effective superpotentials.
We propose that every supersymmetric four dimensional black hole of finite area can be split up into microstates made up of primitive half-BPS "atoms''. The mutual non-locality of the charges of these "atoms'' binds the state together. In support of this proposal, we display a class of smooth, horizon-free, four dimensional supergravity solutions carrying the charges of black holes, with multiple centers each carrying the charge of a half-BPS state. At vanishing string coupling the solutions collapse to a bound system of intersecting D-branes. At weak coupling the system expands into the non-c…
We consider a large class of $q$-series that have the structure of Nahm sums, or equivalently motivic generating series for quivers. First, we initiate a systematic analysis and classification of classical and quantum A-polynomials associated to such $q$-series. These quantum quiver A-polynomials encode recursion relations satisfied by the above series, while classical A-polynomials encode asymptotic expansion of those series. Second, we postulate that those series, as well as their quantum quiver A-polynomials, can be reconstructed by means of the topological recursion. There is a large class…
Dijkgraaf and Vafa have conjectured the correspondences between topological string theories, ${\cal N}=1$ gauge theories and matrix models. By the use of this conjecture, we calculate the quantum deformations of Calabi-Yau threefolds with ADE singularities from ADE multi-matrix models. We obtain the effective superpotentials of the dual quiver gauge theories in terms of the geometric engineering for the deformed geometries. We find the Veneziano-Yankielowicz terms in the effective superpotentials.
In this work we verify consistency of refined topological string theory from several perspectives. First, we advance the method of computing refined open amplitudes by means of geometric transitions. Based on such computations we show that refined open BPS invariants are non-negative integers for a large class of toric Calabi-Yau threefolds: an infinite class of strip geometries, closed topological vertex geometry, and some threefolds with compact four-cycles. Furthermore, for an infinite class of toric geometries without compact four-cycles we show that refined open string amplitudes take for…
We find a direct relation between quiver representation theory and open topological string theory on a class of toric Calabi-Yau manifolds without compact four-cycles, also referred to as strip geometries. We show that various quantities that characterize open topological string theory on these manifolds, such as partition functions, Gromov-Witten invariants, or open BPS invariants, can be expressed in terms of characteristics of the moduli space of representations of the corresponding quiver. This has various deep consequences; in particular, expressing open BPS invariants in terms of motivic…
This is an introduction to spin foam models for non-perturbative quantum gravity, an approach that lies at the point of convergence of many different research areas, including loop quantum gravity, topological quantum field theories, path integral quantum gravity, lattice field theory, matrix models, category theory, statistical mechanics. We describe the general formalism and ideas of spin foam models, the picture of quantum geometry emerging from them, and give a review of the results obtained so far, in both the Euclidean and Lorentzian case. We focus in particular on the Barrett-Crane mode…
We study the discrete flows generated by the symmetry group of the BPS quivers for Calabi-Yau geometries describing five dimensional superconformal quantum field theories on a circle. These flows naturally describe the BPS particle spectrum of such theories and at the same time generate bilinear equations of q-difference type which, in the rank one case, are q-Painlevé equations. The solutions of these equations are shown to be given by grand canonical topological string partition functions which we identify with $τ$-functions of the cluster algebra associated to the quiver. We exemplify our c…
The partition functions of refined topological strings(A-models) are computed, which give rise to the circle-compactified five-dimensional supersymmetric linear quiver gauge theories in generic (not necessarily self-dual) Omega backgrounds. Based on the slicing independence conjecture of refined topological string partition functions, it is demonstrated explicitly that the duality exists between $SU(N)^{M-1}$ and $SU(M)^{N-1}$ supersymmetric linear quiver gauge theories, even in generic Omega backgrounds. It is found that the relations between string moduli and gauge moduli are deformed from t…
This is a noncommutative-geometric study of the semiclassical dynamics of finite topological D-brane systems. Starting from the formulation in terms of A -infinity categories, I show that such systems can be described by the noncommutative symplectic supergeometry of Z2-graded quivers, and give a synthetic formulation of the boundary part of the generalized WDVV equations. In particular, a faithful generating function for integrated correlators on the disk can be constructed as a linear combination of quiver necklaces, i.e. a function on the noncommutative symplectic superspace defined by the …
Loop quantum gravity has provided us with a canonical framework especially devised for background independent and diffeomorphism invariant gauge field theories. In this quantization the fundamental excitations are called spin network states, and in the context of general relativity, they give a meaning to quantum geometry. Spin foams are a sort of path integral for spin network states, supposed to enable the computations of transition amplitudes between these states. The spin foam quantization has proved very efficient for topological field theories, like 2d Yang-Mills, 3d gravity or BF theori…
We consider the partition function of the superconformal Chern-Simons theories with the quiver diagram being the affine D-type Dynkin diagram. Rewriting the partition function into that of a Fermi gas system, we show that the perturbative expansions in 1/N are summed up to an Airy function, as in the ABJM theory or more generally the theories of the affine A-type quiver. As a corollary, this provides a proof for the previous proposal in the large N limit. For special values of the Chern-Simons levels, we further identify three species of the membrane instantons and also conjecture an exact exp…

We study 2d $\mathcal{N}=(0,2)$ supersymmetric quiver gauge theories that describe the low-energy dynamics of D1-branes at Calabi-Yau fourfold (CY$_4$) singularities. On general grounds, the holomorphic sector of these theories---matter content and (classical) superpotential interactions---should be fully captured by the topological $B$-model on the CY$_4$. By studying a number of examples, we confirm this expectation and flesh out the dictionary between B-brane category and supersymmetric quiver: the matter content of the supersymmetric quiver is encoded in morphisms between B-branes (that is…
A graded quiver with superpotential is a quiver whose arrows are assigned degrees $c\in \{0, 1, \cdots, m\}$, for some integer $m \geq 0$, with relations generated by a superpotential of degree $m-1$. Ordinary quivers ($m=1)$ often describe the open string sector of D-brane systems; in particular, they capture the physics of D3-branes at local Calabi-Yau (CY) 3-fold singularities in type IIB string theory, in the guise of 4d $\mathcal{N}=1$ supersymmetric quiver gauge theories. It was pointed out recently that graded quivers with $m=2$ and $m=3$ similarly describe systems of D-branes at CY 4-f…
We discuss a limit of 3d $T_ρ^σ[SU(N)]$ quiver gauge theories in which the number of nodes is large and the ranks scale quadratically with the length of the quiver. The sphere free energies and topologically twisted indices are obtained using supersymmetric localization. Both scale quartically with the length of the quiver and quadratically with $N$, with trilogarithm functions depending on the quiver data as coefficients. The IR SCFTs have well-behaved supergravity duals in Type IIB, and the free energies match precisely with holographic results. Previously discussed theories with $N^2\ln N$ …
This thesis is devoted to the study of 3-dimensional quantum gravity as a spin foam model and group field theory. In the first part of this thesis, we review some general physical and mathematical aspects of 3-dimensional gravity, focusing on its topological nature. Afterwards, we review some important aspects of the Ponzano-Regge spin foam model for 3-dimensional Riemannian quantum gravity and explain in some details how it is related to the discretized path integral of general relativity in its first-order formulation. Furthermore, we discuss briefly some related spin foam models and review …
We consider SU(3)-equivariant dimensional reduction of Yang-Mills theory on Kaehler manifolds of the form M x SU(3)/H, with H = SU(2) x U(1) or H = U(1) x U(1). The induced rank two quiver gauge theories on M are worked out in detail for representations of H which descend from a generic irreducible SU(3)-representation. The reduction of the Donaldson-Uhlenbeck-Yau equations on these spaces induces nonabelian quiver vortex equations on M, which we write down explicitly. When M is a noncommutative deformation of the space C^d, we construct explicit BPS and non-BPS solutions of finite energy for …
The topological vertex formalism for 5d $\mathcal{N}=1$ gauge theories is not only a convenient tool to compute the instanton partition function of these theories, but it is also accompanied by a nice algebraic structure that reveals various kinds of nice properties such as dualities and integrability of the underlying theories. The usual refined topological vertex formalism is derived for gauge theories with $A$-type quiver structure (and $A$-type gauge groups). In this article, we propose a construction with a web of vertex operators for all $ABCDEFG$-type and affine quivers by introducing s…
We describe how a spin-foam state sum model can be reformulated as a quantum field theory of spin networks, such that the Feynman diagrams of that field theory are the spin-foam amplitudes. In the case of open spin networks, we obtain a new type of state-sum models, which we call the matter spin foam models. In this type of state-sum models, one labels both the faces and the edges of the dual two-complex for a manifold triangulation with the simple objects from a tensor category. In the case of Lie groups, such a model corresponds to a quantization of a theory whose fields are the principal bu…
We show how the topological string partition function, which is known to capture the degeneracies of a gas of BPS spinning M2-branes in M-theory compactified to 5 dimensions, is related to a 4-dimensional D-brane system that consists of single D6-brane bound to lower-dimensional branes. This system is described by a topologically twisted U(1) gauge theory, that has been conjecturally identified with quantum foam models and topological strings. This also explains, assuming the identification of Donaldson-Thomas invariants with this U(1) gauge theory, the conjectural relation between DT invarian…
In this paper we detail the lattice constructions of several classes of supersymmetric quiver gauge theories in two and three Euclidean spacetime dimensions possessing exact supersymmetry at finite lattice spacing. Such constructions are obtained through the methods of topological twisting and geometric discretization of Euclidean Yang--Mills theories with eight and sixteen supercharges in two and three dimensions. We detail the lattice constructions of two-dimensional quiver gauge theories possessing four and eight supercharges and three-dimensional quiver gauge theories possessing eight supe…
We consider quantum transition amplitudes, partition functions and observables for 3D spin foam models within $SU(2)$ quantum group deformation symmetry, where the deformation parameter is a complex fifth root of unity. By considering fermionic cycles through the foam we couple this $SU(2)$ quantum group with the same deformation of $SU(3)$, so that we have quantum numbers linked with spacetime symmetry and charge gauge symmetry in the computation of observables. The generalization to higher-dimensional Lie groups $SU(N)$, $G_2$ and $E_8$ is suggested. On this basis we discuss a unifying frame…
We give an introductory review of topological strings and their application to various aspects of superstrings and supersymmetric gauge theories. This review includes developing the necessary mathematical background for topological strings, such as the notions of Calabi-Yau manifold and toric geometry, as well as physical methods developed for solving them, such as mirror symmetry, large N dualities, the topological vertex and quantum foam. In addition, we discuss applications of topological strings to N=1,2 supersymmetric gauge theories in 4 dimensions as well as to BPS black hole entropy in …
Inspired by the long wave-length limit of topological M-theory, which re-constructs the theory of $3+1$D gravity in the self-dual variables' formulation, we conjecture the existence of a duality between Hilbert spaces, the ${\bf H}$-duality, to unify topological M-theory and loop quantum gravity (LQG). By ${\bf H}$-duality non-trivial gravitational holonomies of the kinematical Hilbert space of LQG correspond to space-like M-branes. The spinfoam approach captures the non-perturbative dynamics of space-like M-branes, and can be claimed to be dual to the S-branes foam. The Hamiltonian constraint…
The web of dual gauge theories engineered from a class of toric Calabi-Yau threefolds is explored. In previous work, we have argued for a triality structure by compiling evidence for the fact that every such manifold $X_{N,M}$ (for given $(N,M)$) engineers three a priori different, weakly coupled quiver gauge theories in five dimensions. The strong coupling regime of the latter is in general described by Little String Theories. Furthermore, we also conjectured that the manifold $X_{N,M}$ is dual to $X_{N',M'}$ if $NM=N'M'$ and $\text{gcd}(N,M)=\text{gcd}(N',M')$. Combining this result with the…
We study the relation between Donaldson-Thomas theory of Calabi-Yau threefolds and a six-dimensional topological Yang-Mills theory. Our main example is the topological U(N) gauge theory on flat space in its Coulomb branch. To evaluate its partition function we use equivariant localization techniques on its noncommutative deformation. As a result the gauge theory localizes on noncommutative instantons which can be classified in terms of N-coloured three-dimensional Young diagrams. We give to these noncommutative instantons a geometrical description in terms of certain stable framed coherent she…
The simplistic model of the classical spacetime foam is considered, which consists of static wormholes embedded in Minkowski spacetime. We explicitly demonstrate that such a foam structure leads to a topological bias of point-like sources which can equally be interpreted as the presence of a dark halo around any point source. It is shown that a non-trivial halo appears on scales where the topological structure possesses a local inhomogeneity, while the homogeneous structure reduces to a constant renormalization of the intensity of sources. We also show that in general dark halos possess both (…
Systems of D3-branes at orientifold singularities can receive non-perturbative D-brane instanton corrections, inducing field theory operators in the 4d effective theory. In certain non-chiral examples, these systems have been realized as the infrared endpoint of a Seiberg duality cascade, in which the D-brane instanton effects arise from strong gauge theory dynamics. We present the first UV duality cascade completion of chiral D3-brane theories, in which the D-brane instantons arise from gauge theory dynamics. Chiral examples are interesting because the instanton fermion zero mode sector is to…
The relation between open topological strings and representation theory of symmetric quivers is explored beyond the original setting of the knot-quiver correspondence. Multiple cover generalizations of the skein relation for boundaries of holomorphic disks on a Lagrangian brane are observed to generate dual quiver descriptions of the geometry. Embedding into M-theory, a large class of dualities of 3d $\mathcal{N}=2$ theories associated to quivers is obtained. The multi-cover skein relation admits a compact formulation in terms of quantum torus algebras associated to the quiver and in this lang…
Using D-brane physics, we study fractional quantum Hall solitons (FQHS) in ABJM-like theory in terms of type IIA dual geometries. In particular, we discuss a class of Chern-Simons (CS) quivers describing FQHS sytems at low energy. These CS quivers come from R-R gauge fields interacting with D6-branes wrapped on 4-cycles, which reside within a blown up CP^3 projective space. Based on the CS quiver method and mimicking the construction of del Pezzo surfaces in terms of CP^2, we first give a model which corresponds to a single layer model of FQHS system, then we propose a multi-layer system gener…
In this work we show that 3d Feynman amplitudes of standard QFT in flat and homogeneous space can be naturally expressed as expectation values of a specific topological spin foam model. The main interest of the paper is to set up a framework which gives a background independent perspective on usual field theories and can also be applied in higher dimensions. We also show that this Feynman graph spin foam model, which encodes the geometry of flat space-time, can be purely expressed in terms of algebraic data associated with the Poincare group. This spin foam model turns out to be the spin foam …
We construct an $ε$-deformation of W algebras, corresponding to the additive version of quiver $\text{W}_{q,t^{-1}}$ algebras which feature prominently in the 5d version of the BPS/CFT correspondence and refined topological strings on toric Calabi-Yau's. This new type of algebras fill in the missing intermediate level between $q$-deformed and ordinary W algebras. We show that $ε$-deformed W algebras are spectral duals of conventional W algebras, in particular the $ε$-deformed conformal blocks manifestly reproduce instanton partition functions of 4d $\mathcal{N}=2$ quiver gauge theories in the …
The asymptotics of some spin foam amplitudes for a quantum 4-simplex is known to display rapid oscillations whose frequency is the Regge action. In this note, we reformulate this result through a difference equation, asymptotically satisfied by these models, and whose semi-classical solutions are precisely the sine and the cosine of the Regge action. This equation is then interpreted as coming from the canonical quantization of a simple constraint in Regge calculus. This suggests to lift and generalize this constraint to the phase space of loop quantum gravity parametrized by twisted geometrie…
The open string sector of the topological B-model on CY $(m+2)$-folds is described by $m$-graded quivers with superpotentials. This correspondence generalizes the connection between CY $(m+2)$-folds and gauge theories on the worldvolume of D$(5-2m)$-branes for $m=0,\ldots,3$ to arbitrary $m$. In this paper we introduce the Calabi-Yau product, a new algorithm that starting from the known quiver theories for a pair of toric CY$_{m+2}$ and CY$_{n+2}$ produces the quiver theory for a related CY$_{m+n+3}$. This method significantly supersedes existing ones, enabling the simple determination of quiv…
We use the approach to generate spin foam models by an auxiliary field theory defined on a group manifold (as recently developed in quantum gravity and quantization of BF-theories) in the context of topological quantum field theories with a 3-form field strength. Topological field theories of this kind in seven dimensions are related to the superconformal field theories which live on the worldvolumes of fivebranes in M-theory. The approach through an auxiliary field theory for spinfoams gives a topology independent formulation of such theories.
We propose expressions for refined open topological string partition function on certain non-compact Calabi Yau 3-folds with topological branes wrapped on the special lagrangian submanifolds. The corresponding web diagrams are partially compact and a lagrangian brane is inserted on one of the external legs. Partial compactification introduces a mass deformation in the corresponding gauge theory. We propose conjectures that equate these open topological string partition functions with the generating function of equivaraint indices on certain quiver moduli spaces. To obtain these conjectures we …
We study strings associated with minimal 6d SCFTs, which by definition have only one string charge and no Higgs branch. These theories are labelled by a number n with 1 <= n <= 8 or n = 12. Quiver theories have previously been proposed which describe strings of SCFTs for n = 1, 2. For n > 2 the strings interact with the bulk gauge symmetry. In this paper we find a quiver description for the n = 4 string using Sen's limit of F-theory and calculate its elliptic genus with localization techniques. This result is checked using the duality of F-theory with M-theory and topological string theory who…
A popular way to study N=1 supersymmetric gauge theories is to realize them geometrically in string theory, as suspended brane constructions, D-branes wrapping cycles in Calabi-Yau manifolds, orbifolds, and otherwise. Among the applications of this idea are simple derivations and generalizations of Seiberg duality for the theories which can be so realized. We abstract from these arguments the idea that Seiberg duality arises because a configuration of gauge theory can be realized as a bound state of a collection of branes in more than one way, and we show that different brane world-volume theo…
Reflection states are introduced in the vertical and horizontal modules of the Ding-Iohara-Miki (DIM) algebra (quantum toroidal $\mathfrak{gl}_1$). Webs of DIM representations are in correspondence with $(p,q)$-web diagrams of type IIB string theory, under the identification of the algebraic intertwiner of Awata, Feigin and Shiraishi with the refined topological vertex. Extending the correspondence to the vertical reflection states, it is possible to engineer the $\mathcal{N}=1$ quiver gauge theory of D-type (with unitary gauge groups). In this way, the Nekrasov instanton partition function is…
I discuss a model inspired from the string/brane framework, in which our Universe is represented as a three brane, propagating in a bulk space time punctured by D0-brane (D-particle) defects. As the D3-brane world moves in the bulk, the D-particles cross it, and from an effective observer on D3 the situation looks like a ``space-time foam'' with the defects ``flashing'' on and off (``D-particle foam''). The open strings, with their ends attached on the brane, which represent matter in this scenario, can interact with the D-particles on the D3-brane universe in a topologically non-trivial manne…

We show that the simplicity constraints, which define the dynamics of spin foam models, imply, and are implied by, the first law of thermodynamics, when the latter is applied to causal diamonds in the quantum spacetime. This result reveals an intimate connection between the holographic nature of gravity, as reflected by the Bekenstein entropy, and the fact that general relativity and other gravitational theories can be understood as constrained topological field theories. To state and derive this correspondence we describe causal diamonds in the causal structure of spin foam histories and gene…
We formulate the spin foam perturbation theory for three-dimensional Euclidean Quantum Gravity with a cosmological constant. We analyse the perturbative expansion of the partition function in the dilute-gas limit and we argue that the Baez conjecture stating that the number of possible distinct topological classes of perturbative configurations is finite for the set of all triangulations of a manifold, is not true. However, the conjecture is true for a special class of triangulations which are based on subdivisions of certain 3-manifold cubulations. In this case we calculate the partition func…
We study the BPS spectrum and vacuum moduli spaces in dimensional reductions of Chern-Simons-matter theories with N>=2 supersymmetry to zero dimensions. Our main example is a matrix model version of the ABJM theory which we relate explicitly to certain reduced 3-algebra models. We find the explicit maps from Chern-Simons quiver matrix models to dual IKKT matrix models. We address the problem of topologically twisting the ABJM matrix model, and along the way construct a new twist of the IKKT model. We construct a cohomological matrix model whose partition function localizes onto a moduli space …
