In quantum mechanics, outcomes of measurements on a state have a probabilistic interpretation while the evolution of the state is treated deterministically. Here we show that one can also treat the evolution as being probabilistic in nature and one can measure `which unitary' happened. Likewise, one can give an information-theoretic interpretation to evolutions by defining the entropy of a completely positive map. This entropy gives the rate at which the informational content of the evolution can be compressed. One cannot compress this information and still have the evolution act on an unknown state, but we demonstrate a general scheme to do so probabilistically. This allows one to generalize super-dense coding to the sending of quantum information. One can also define the ``interaction-entanglement'' of a unitary, and concentrate this entanglement.

A probabilistic interpretation of one-particle relativistic quantum mechanics is proposed. Quantum Action Principle formulated earlier is used for to make the dynamics of the Minkowsky time variable of a particle to be classical. After that, quantum dynamics of a particle in the 3D space obtains the ordinary probabilistic interpretation. In addition, the classical dynamics of the Minkowsky time variable may serve as a tool for "observation" of the quantum dynamics of a particle. A relativistic analog of the hydrogen atom energy spectrum is obtained.
The notion of equality between two observables will play many important roles in foundations of quantum theory. However, the standard probabilistic interpretation based on the conventional Born formula does not give the probability of equality relation for a pair of arbitrary observables, since the Born formula gives the probability distribution only for a commuting family of observables. In this paper, quantum set theory developed by Takeuti and the present author is used to systematically extend the probabilistic interpretation of quantum theory to define the probability of equality relation…

We give a necessary and sufficient condition for the incompatibility of a pair of effects in a general probabilistic model in which the state space is a total convex space, which can be obtained by minimising a real parameter. This has an interpretation in terms of the least noise that must be included to make the given pair compatible.
We discuss the Klein-Gordon (KG) equation using a 5D space-time approach. We explicitly show that the KG equation in flat space-time admits a consistent probabilistic interpretation with positively defined probability density. However, the probabilistic interpretation is not covariant. In the non-relativistic limit, the formalism reduces naturally to that of the Schrödinger equation. We further discuss other interpretations of the KG equation (and their non-relativistic limits) resulting from the 5D space-time picture. Finally, we apply our results to the problem of hydrogenic spectra and calc…
In the following we revisit the frequency interpretation of probability of Richard von Mises, in order to bring the essential implicit notions in focus. Following von Mises, we argue that probability can only be defined for events that can be repeated in similar conditions, and that exhibit 'frequency stabilization'. The central idea of the present article is that the mentioned 'conditions' should be well-defined and 'partitioned'. More precisely, we will divide probabilistic systems into object, environment, and probing subsystem, and show that such partitioning allows to solve a wide variety…
Although electrons and photons produce the same interference patterns in the two-slit experiments, the description of these patters is markedly different. This difference was analyzed by Bohm. Later on Sanz and Miret-Artes and others were able to squeeze the differences to zero. Fortunately, they left some room for developments presented in this Letter. We noticed that in the absence of sources the electromagnetic field can be represented by the complex scalar field. It is demonstrated that the same fields are being used in the non relativistic Schrödinger equation. The connection between the …
It is shown that Popescu-Rohrlich nonlocal boxes (beating the Tsirelson bound for Bell inequality) do exist in the existing structures of both quantum and classical theory. In particular, we design an explicit example of measure-and-prepare nonlocal (but no-signaling) channel being the realization of nonlocal and no-signaling Popescu-Rohrlich box within the generalized probabilistic theory of processes. Further we present a post-selection-based spatially non-local implementation and show it does not require truly quantum resources, hence, improving the previously known results. Interpretation …
We present a panoramic view on various attempts to "solve" the problems of quantum measurement and macro-objectivation, i.e. of the transition from a probabilistic quantum mechanic microscopic world to a deterministic classical macroscopic world.
In classical physics, probabilistic or statistical knowledge has been always related to ignorance or inaccurate subjective knowledge about an actual state of affairs. This idea has been extended to quantum mechanics through a completely incoherent interpretation of the Fermi-Dirac and Bose-Einstein statistics in terms of "strange" quantum particles. This interpretation, naturalized through a widespread "way of speaking" in the physics community, contradicts Born's physical account of Ψ as a "probability wave" which provides statistical information about outcomes that, in fact, cannot be interp…
The Born postulate can be reduced to its deterministic content that only applies to eigenvectors of observables: the standard probabilistic interpretation of generic states then follows from algebraic properties of repeated measurements and states. Extending this reasoning suggests an interpretation of quantum mechanics generalized with indefinite quantum norm.
