It is shown, for any irreducible representation of $E_8$ Lie algebra, that eigenvalues of Casimir operators can be calculated in the form of invariant polinomials which are decomposed in terms of $A_8$ basis functions. The general method is applied for degrees 8,12 and 14 for which 2,8 and 19 invariant polinomials are obtained respectively. For each particular degree, these invariant polinomials can be taken to be $E_8$ basis functions in the sense that any Casimir operator of $E_8$ has always eigenvalues which can be expressed as linear superpositions of them. This can be investigated by showing that each one of these $E_8$ basis functions gives us a linear equation to calculate weight multiplicities.
We introduce a new cohomology theory related to deformations of Lie algebra morphisms. This notion involves simultaneous deformations of two Lie algebras and a homomorphism between them.
The purpose of this paper is to study Virasoro extensions of the q-deformed Witt Hom-Lie superalgebra. Moreover, we provide the cohomology and deformations of the Ramond Hom-superalgebra and special Ramond Hom-superalgebra.
We study Chevalley-Eilenberg cohomology of physically relevant Lie superalgebras related to supersymmetric theories, providing explicit expressions for their cocycles in terms of their Maurer-Cartan forms. We then include integral forms in the picture by defining a notion of integral forms related to a Lie superalgebra. We develop a suitable generalization of Chevalley-Eilenberg cohomology extended to integral forms and we prove that it is isomorphic to the ordinary Chevalley-Eilenberg cohomology of the Lie superalgebra. Next we study equivariant Chevalley-Eilenberg cohomology for coset supers…
We study the cohomology of Lie superalgebras for the full complex of forms: superforms, pseudoforms and integral forms. We use the technique of spectral sequences to abstractly compute the Chevalley-Eilenberg cohomology. We first focus on the superalgebra $\mathfrak{osp}(2|2)$ and show that there exist non-empty cohomology spaces among pseudoforms related to sub-superalgebras. We then extend some classical theorems by Koszul, as to include pseudoforms and integral forms. Further, we conjecture that the algebraic Poincaré duality extends to Lie superalgebras, as long as all the complexes of for…
The main purpose of this paper is to provide a full cohomology of a Hom-pre-Lie algebra with coefficients in a given representation. This new type of cohomology exploit strongly the Hom-type structure and fits perfectly with simultaneous deformations of the multiplication and the homomorphism defining a Hom-pre-Lie algebra. Moreover, we show that its second cohomology group classifies abelian extensions of a Hom-pre-Lie algebra by a representation.

We find an interpretation of the complex of variational calculus in terms of the Lie conformal algebra cohomology theory. This leads to a better understanding of both theories. In particular, we give an explicit construction of the Lie conformal algebra cohomology complex, and endow it with a structure of a g-complex. On the other hand, we give an explicit construction of the complex of variational calculus in terms of skew-symmetric poly-differential operators.
This article is devoted to the analysis of the gauge-fixed BRST cohomology complex for a matrix model endowed with a $U(2)$-gauge symmetry. After a brief introduction on the BV construction and the gauge-fixing procedure in the setting of finite-dimensional gauge theories, we apply these constructions to the model, with the purpose of explicitly determining and computing the corresponding gauge-fixed BRST cohomology groups. In the second part of this article, we introduce a notion of generalized Lie algebra cohomology, which allows the gauge-fixed BRST cohomology complex for a new description,…
We relate cohomology defined by a system of local Lagrangian with the cohomology class of the system of local variational Lie derivative, which is in turn a local variational problem; we show that the latter cohomology class is zero, since the variational Lie derivative `trivializes' cohomology classes defined by variational forms. As a consequence, conservation laws associated with symmetries ensuring the vanishing of the second variational derivative of a local variational problem are globally defined.
The purpose of this paper is to define the representation and the cohomology of Hom-Lie superalgebras. Moreover we study Central extensions and provide as application the computations of the derivations and second cohomology group of q-deformed Witt superalgebra.
In the present paper, we define the new class of representation on $n$-Lie algebra that is called as generalized representation. We study the cohomology theory corresponding to generalized representations of $n$-Lie algebras and show its relation with the cohomology corresponding to the usual representations. Furthermore, we provide the computation for the low dimensional cocycles.
The study of $n$-Lie algebras which are natural generalization of Lie algebras is motivated by Nambu Mechanics and recent developments in String Theory and M-branes. The purpose of this paper is to define cohomology complexes and study deformation theory of $n$-Lie algebra morphisms. We discuss infinitesimal deformations, equivalent deformations and obstructions. Moreover, we provide various examples.
We give a definition of differentiable cohomology of a Lie group G (possibly infinite-dimensional) with coefficients in any abelian Lie group. This differentiable cohomology maps both to the cohomology of the group made discrete and to Lie algebra cohomology. We show that the secondary characteristic classes of Beilinson lead to differentiable cohomology classes with coefficients in C*. These may be viewed as an enrichment of the Chern-Simons differential forms. By transgression, classes in differentiable cohomology of a Lie group G lead to differentiable cohomology classes for gauge groups Ma…
We study sheaves on holomorphic spaces of loops and apply this to the study of the complex, defined in \cite{BdSHK}, governing deformations of the \emph{Poisson vertex algebra} structure on the space of holomorphic loops into a Poisson variety. We describe this complex in terms of the (continuous) de Rham-Lie cohomology of an associated Lie algebroid object in locally linearly compact topological (alias \emph{Tate}) sheaves of modules on $\mathcal{L}^{+}M$. In particular this allows us to easily compute the cohomology of the above in the case where $π$ is symplectic - we obtain de Rham cohomol…
We describe the main algebraic and geometric properties of the class of algebras introduced in [arXiv:0705.1629]. We discuss their origins in symplectic geometry and associative algebra, and the notions of cohomology and representations. We formulate classification theorems and give a number of examples.
Two examples of $\mathrm{Diff}^+S^1$-invariant closed two-forms obtained from forms on jet bundles, which does not admit equivariant moment maps are presented. The corresponding cohomological obstruction is computed and shown to coincide with a nontrivial Lie algebra cohomology class on $H^2(\mathfrak{X}(S^1))$.
Let M be a manifold carrying the action of a Lie group G, and A a Lie algebroid on M equipped with a compatible infinitesimal G-action. Out of these data we construct an equivariant Lie algebroid cohomology and prove for compact G a related localization formula. As an application we prove a Bott-type formula.
The aim of this paper is to provide a cohomology of $n$-Hom-Lie color algebras governing one parameter formal deformations. Then, we study formal deformations of a $n$-Hom-Lie color algebra and introduce the notion of Nijenhuis operator on an $n$-Hom-Lie color algebra, which could give rise to infinitesimally trivial $(n-1)$-order deformations. Furthermore, in connection with Nijenhuis operators we introduce and discuss the notion of a product structure on $n$-Hom-Lie color algebras.
We develop methods for computation of Poisson vertex algebra cohomology. This cohomology is computed for the free bosonic and fermionic Poisson vertex (super)algebras, as well as for the universal affine and Virasoro Poisson vertex algebras. We establish finite dimensionality of this cohomology for conformal Poisson vertex (super)algebras that are finitely and freely generated by elements of positive conformal weight.
A cohomology theory of root systems emerges naturally in the context of Automorphic Lie Algebras, where it helps formulating some structure theory questions. In particular, one can find concrete models for an Automorphic Lie Algebra by integrating cocycles. In this paper we define this cohomology and show its connection with the theory of Automorphic Lie Algebras. Furthermore, we discuss its properties: we define the cup product, we show that it can be restricted to symmetric forms, that it is equivariant with respect to the automorphism group of the root system, and finally we show acyclicity…
In this paper we analyse the topological group cohomology of finite-dimensional Lie groups. We introduce a technique for computing it (as abelian groups) for torus coefficients by the naturally associated long exact sequence. The upshot in there is that certain morphisms in this long exact coefficient sequence can be accessed (at least for semi-simple Lie groups) very conveniently by the Chern-Weil homomorphism of the naturally associated compact dual symmetric space. Since the latter is very well-known, this gives the possibility to compute the topological group cohomology of the classical si…
