Let V be a finite-dimensional superspace and G a simple (or a ``close'' to simple) matrix Lie superalgebra, i.e., a Lie subsuperalgebra in GL(V). Under the classical invariant theory for G we mean the description of G-invariant elements of the tensor algebra of V.
We give such description for GL(V), SL(V) and OSP(V) and their ``odd'' analogs: Q(V), SQ(V); Pe(V) and SPe(V).
Let V be a finite dimensional complex superspace and G a simple (or a ``close'' to simple) Lie superalgebra of matrix type, i.e., a Lie subsuperalgebra in GL(V). Under the classical invariant theory for G we mean the description of G-invariant elements of the tensor algebra of V. In math.RT/9810113 the invariants are described up to polarization operators. Here we give a complete description of the generators in the algebra of invariants and describe the relations between the invariants of the scalar product type.
In the paper we consider the problem of computation of characters of relatively integrable irreducible highest weight modules $L$ over finite-dimensional basic Lie superalgebras and over affine Lie superalgebras $\mathfrak{g}$. The problems consists of two parts. First, it is the reduction of the problem to the $\overline{\mathfrak{g}}$-module $F(L)$, where $\overline{\mathfrak{g}}$ is the associated to $L$ integral Lie superalgebra and $F(L)$ is an integrable irreducible highest weight $\overline{\mathfrak{g}}$-module. Second, it is the computation of characters of integrable highest weight m…
We give a uniform interpretation of the classical continuous Chebyshev's and Hahn's orthogonal polynomials of discrete variable in terms of Feigin's Lie algebra gl(N), where N is any complex number. One can similarly interpret Chebyshev's and Hahn's q-polynomials and introduce orthogonal polynomials corresponding to Lie superlagebras. We also describe the real forms of gl(N), quasi-finite modules over gl(N), and conditions for unitarity of the quasi-finite modules. Analogs of tensors over gl(N) are also introduced.
Let $\mathfrak{r}$ be a finite dimensional complex Lie superalgebra with a non-degenerate super-symmetric invariant bilinear form, let $\mathfrak{p}$ be a finite dimensional complex super vector space with a non-degenerate super-symmetric bilinear form, and let $ν: \mathfrak{r}\rightarrow\mathfrak{osp}(\mathfrak{p})$ be a Lie superalgebra homomorphism. In this paper, we give a necessary and sufficient condition for $\mathfrak{r}\oplus\mathfrak{p}$ to be a quadratic Lie superalgebra. The criterion obtained is an analogue of a constancy condition given by Kostant in the Lie algebra setting. As a…
Kostant's partition function counts the number of ways to represent a particular vector (weight) as a nonnegative integral sum of positive roots of a Lie algebra. For a given weight the $q$-analog of Kostant's partition function is a polynomial where the coefficient of $q^k$ is the number of ways the weight can be written as a nonnegative integral sum of exactly $k$ positive roots. In this paper we determine generating functions for the $q$-analog of Kostant's partition function when the weight in question is the highest root of the classical Lie algebras of types $B$, $C$ and $D$.
Two super-analogs of the Schur-Weyl duality are considered: the duality of actions in $(\mathbb{C}^{m|n})^{\otimes N}$ of the Lie superalgebra $\mathfrak{gl}(m,n)$ and the symmetric group $S_N$, and the duality of actions of the Lie superalgebra $Q(n)$ and a certain finite group $Se(N)$ in $(\mathbb{C}^{n|n})^{\otimes N}$. We construct an isomorphism of symmetric and universal enveloping algebras of these Lie superalgebras called special symmetrization. Using this isomorphism of vector spaces we describe explicitly the duality between the centers of the corresponding universal enveloping algeb…
We construct the finite dimensional simple integral modules for the (degenerate) affine Hecke-Clifford algebra (AHCA). Our construction includes an analogue of Zelevinsky's segment representations, a complete combinatorial description of the simple calibrated modules, and a classification of the simple integral modules. Additionally, we construct an analogue of the Arakawa-Suzuki functor for the Lie superalgebra of type Q.
Let $G$ be a simple algebraic group over an algebraically closed field of characteristic $p>0$ and suppose that $p$ is a very good prime for $G$. We prove that any maximal Lie subalgebra $M$ of $\mathfrak{g} = {\rm Lie}(G)$ with ${\rm rad}(M) \ne 0$ has the form $M = {\rm Lie}(P)$ for some maximal parabolic subgroup $P$ of $G$. We show that the assumption on $p$ is necessary by providing a counterexample for groups type ${\rm E}_8$ over fields of characteristic $5$. Our arguments rely on the main results and methods of the classification theory of finite dimensional simple Lie algebras over fi…
The paper is devoted to the generalization of Lusztig's q-analog of weight multiplicities to the Lie superalgebras gl(n,m) and spo(2n,M). We define such q-analogs K_{lambda,mu}(q) for the typical modules and for the irreducible covariant tensor gl(n,m)-modules of highest weight lambda. For gl(n,m), the defined polynomials have nonnegative integer coefficients if the weight mu is dominant. For spo(2n,M), we show that the positivity property holds when mu is dominant and sufficiently far from a specific wall of the fundamental chamber. We also establish that the q-analog associated to an irreduc…
Classical harmonic analysis says that the spaces of homogeneous harmonic polynomials (solutions of Laplace equation) are irreducible modules of the corresponding orthogonal Lie group (algebra) and the whole polynomial algebra is a free module over the invariant polynomials generated by harmonic polynomials. In this paper, we first establish two-parameter $\mbb{Z}^2$-graded supersymmetric oscillator generalizations of the above theorem for the Lie superalgebra $gl(n|m)$. Then we extend the result to two-parameter $\mbb{Z}$-graded supersymmetric oscillator generalizations of the above theorem fo…
We study natural quantizations of branching coefficients corresponding to the restrictions of the classical Lie groups to their Levi subgroups. We show that they admit a stable limit which can be regarded as a $q$-analogue of a tensor product multiplicity. According to a conjecture by Shimozono, the stable one-dimensional sum for nonexceptional affine crystals are expected to occur as special cases of these $q$-analogues.
Following analogous constructions for Lie algebras, we define Whittaker modules and Whittaker categories for finite-dimensional simple Lie superalgebras. Results include a decomposition of Whittaker categories for a Lie superalgebra according to the action of an appropriate sub-superalgebra; and, for basic classical Lie superalgebras of type I, a description of the strongly typical simple Whittaker modules.
The Spencer cohomology of certain graded Lie superalgebras are completely computed. This cohomology is interpreted as analogs of Riemann and Penrose tensors on supermanifolds. The results make it manifest that there is no simple generalization of Borel-Weil-Bott's theorem for Lie superalgebras.
In the 1970's, George Mackey pointed out an analogy that exists between tempered representations of semisimple Lie groups and unitary representations of associated semidirect product Lie groups. More recently, Nigel Higson refined Mackey's analogy into a one-to-one correspondence for connected complex semisimple groups, and in doing so obtained a novel verification of the Baum-Connes conjecture with trivial coefficients for such groups. Here we extend Higson's results to any Lie group with finitely many connected components whose connected component of the identity is complex semisimple. Our m…
We give an explicit description of adjoint quotient maps for Jacobson-Witt algebra Wn and special algebra Sn. An analogue of Kostant's differential criterion of regularity is given for Wn. Furthermore, we describe the fiber of adjoint quotient map for Sn and construct the analogs of Kostant's transverse slice. In addition, we analysis the nilpotent elements and generalize some Premet's results to Sn.
We prove the analog of Kostant's Theorem on Lie algebra cohomology in the context of quantum groups. We prove that Kostant's cohomology formula holds for quantum groups at a generic parameter $q$, recovering an earlier result of Malikov in the case where the underlying semisimple Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g} = \mathfrak{sl}(n)$. We also show that Kostant's formula holds when $q$ is specialized to an $\ell$-th root of unity for odd $\ell \ge h-1$ (where $h$ is the Coxeter number of $\mathfrak{g}$) when the highest weight of the coefficient module lies in the lowest alcove. This can be regarded as …
Recently Alberto Elduque listed all simple and graded modulo 2 finite dimensional Lie algebras and superalgebras whose odd component is the spinor representation of the orthogonal Lie algebra equal to the even component, and discovered one exceptional such Lie superalgebra in characteristic 5. For this Lie superalgebra all inequivalent Cartan matrices (in other words, inequivalent systems of simple roots) are listed together with defining relations between analogs of its Chevalley generators.
A Schroedinger type equation on the superspace R^{D|2n} is studied, which involves a potential inversely proportional to the negative of the osp(D|2n) invariant "distance" away from the origin. An osp(2,D+1|2n) dynamical supersymmetry for the system is explicitly constructed, and the bound states of the system are shown to form an irreducible highest weight module for this superalgebra. A thorough understanding of the structure of the irreducible module is obtained. This in particular enables the determination of the energy eigenvalues and the corresponding eigenspaces as well as their respect…
In this paper, we study the simple modules for the restricted Lie superalgebra $gl(m|n)$. A condition for the simplicity of the induced modules is given, and an analogue of Kac-Weisfeiler theorem is proved.
We calculate the first extension groups for finite-dimensional simple modules over an arbitrary generalized current Lie algebra, which includes the case of loop Lie algebras and their multivariable analogs.
We prove an analog of the Ado theorem - the existence of a finite-dimensional faithful representation - for a certain kind of finite-dimensional nilpotent Hom-Lie algebras.
The key role in the derivation of the Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov equations in the $WZW$-theory is played by the energy-momentum tensor, that is constructed from a central Casimir element of the second order in a universal enveloping algebra of a corresponding Lie algebra. In the paper a possibility of construction of analogs of Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov equations using higher order central elements is investigated. The Gelfand elements of the third order for a simple Lie algebra of series $A$ and Capelli elements of the fourth order for the a simple Lie algebra of series $B$, $D$ are considered. In t…
An analogue of Serre's theorem is established for finite dimensional simple Lie superalgebras, which describes presentations in terms of Chevalley generators and Serre type relations relative to all possible choices of Borel subalgebras. The proof of the theorem is conceptually transparent; it also provides an alternative approach to Serre's theorem for ordinary Lie algebras.
Associated to the two types of finite dimensional simple superalgebras, there are the general linear Lie superalgebra and the queer Lie superalgebra. The universal enveloping algebras of these Lie superalgebras act on the tensor spaces of the natural representations and, thus, define certain finite dimensional quotients, the Schur superalgebras and the queer Schur superalgebra. In this paper, we introduce the quantum analogue of the queer Schur superalgebra and investigate the presentation problem for both the queer Schur superalgebra and its quantum analogue.
A brief review of the extremal projectors for contragredient Lie (super)symmetries (finite-dimensional simple Lie algebras, basic classical Lie superalgebras, infinite-dimensional affine Kac-Moody algebras and superalgebras, as well as their quantum $q$-analogs) is given. Some bibliographic comments on the applications of extremal projectors are presented.
