This is a contribution to the Vadim Kuznetsov Memorial Issue on Integrable Systems and Related Topics, published in SIGMA (Symmetry, Integrability and Geometry: Methods and Applications) at http://www.emis.de/journals/SIGMA/ In v4 a slight error in formula (2.8) for Q_0 is corrected
Zhedanov's algebra AW(3) is considered with explicit structure constants such that, in the basic representation, the first generator becomes the second order q-difference operator for the Askey-Wilson polynomials. It is proved that this representation is faithful for a certain quotient of AW(3) such that the Casimir operator is equal to a special constant. Some explicit aspects of the double affine Hecke algebra (DAHA) related to symmetric and non-symmetric Askey-Wilson polynomials are presented and proved without requiring knowledge of general DAHA theory. Finally a central extension of this quotient of AW(3) is introduced which can be embedded in the DAHA by means of the faithful basic representations of both algebras.
This paper builds on the previous paper arXiv:math/0612730 by the author, where a relationship between Zhedanov's algebra AW(3) and the double affine Hecke algebra (DAHA) corresponding to the Askey-Wilson polynomials was established. It is shown here that the spherical subalgebra of this DAHA is isomorphic to AW(3) with an additional relation that the Casimir operator equals an explicit constant. A similar result with q-shifted parameters holds for the antispherical subalgebra. Some theorems on centralizers and centers for the algebras under consideration will finally be proved as corollaries …
These are the notes from a series of lectures the author gave at Harvard University in the Fall of 1994. The goal of these lectures is to give a self-contained exposition of recent result of Cherednik (\cite{C6}), who proved Macdonald's inner product conjectures (see \cite{M2}) for arbitrary root systems, using the algebraic structure he called ``double affine Hecke algebra''.
The main aim of the paper is to formulate and prove a result about the structure of double affine Hecke algebras which allows its two commutative subalgebras to play a symmetric role. This result is essential for the theory of intertwiners of double affine Hecke algebras.
We construct a model of the affine nil-Hecke algebra as a subalgebra of the Nichols-Woronowicz algebra associated to a Yetter-Drinfeld module over the affine Weyl group. We also discuss the Peterson isomorphism between the homology of the affine Grassmannian and the small quantum cohomology ring of the flag variety in terms of the braided differential calculus.
We categorify the extended affine Hecke algebra and the affine quantum Schur algebra S(n,r) for 2 < r < n, using Elias-Khovanov and Khovanov-Lauda type diagrams. We also define the affine analogue of the Elias-Khovanov and the Khovanov-Lauda 2-representations of these categorifications into an extension of the 2-category of affine (singular) Soergel bimodules.
We introduce the spin Hecke algebra, which is a q-deformation of the spin symmetric group algebra, and its affine generalization. We establish an algebra isomorphism which relates our spin (affine) Hecke algebras to the (affine) Hecke-Clifford algebras of Olshanski and Jones-Nazarov. Relation between the spin (affine) Hecke algebra and a nonstandard presentation of the usual (affine) Hecke algebra is displayed, and the notion of covering (affine) Hecke algebra is introduced to provide a link between these algebras. Various algebraic structures for the spin (affine) Hecke algebra are establishe…
Associated to the classical Weyl groups, we introduce the notion of degenerate spin affine Hecke algebras and affine Hecke-Clifford algebras. For these algebras, we establish the PBW properties, formulate the intertwiners, and describe the centers. We further develop connections of these algebras with the usual degenerate (i.e. graded) affine Hecke algebras of Lusztig by introducing a notion of degenerate covering affine Hecke algebras.
Inspired by the work of Rostam, we establish an explicit categorical equivalence between affine Yokonuma-Hecke algebras and quiver Hecke algebras associated to disjoint copies of quivers of (affine) type $A,$ generalizing Rouquier's categorical equivalence theorem.
We give an explicit expression for the central elements of affine Hecke algebras of type A in the Coxeter presentation, in terms of (parabolic) affine Kazhdan-Lusztig polynomials. Our approach is based on a version of quantum affine Schur-Weyl duality involving the Hall algebra of a cyclic quiver, on the theory of canonical bases and on the higher-level q-deformed Fock spaces recently introduced by Uglov.
In this paper we categorify the Heisenberg action on the Fock space via the category O of cyclotomic rational double affine Hecke algebras. This permits us to relate the filtration by the support on the Grothendieck group of O to a representation theoretic grading defined using the Heisenberg action. This implies a recent conjecture of Etingof.
In this paper we show that an affine Hecke algebra $H_q$ over complex numbers field with parameter $q\ne 1$ is not isomorphic to the group algebra over complex numbers field of the corresponding extend affine Weyl group if the corresponding root system has no factors of type $A_1$ and the order of $q$ is different from 11 and 13 if the root system has factors of type $E_8$.
Recently Cherednik and Feigin obtained several Rogers-Ramanujan type identities via the nilpotent double affine Hecke algebras (Nil-DAHA). These identities further led to a series of dilogarithm identities, some of which are known, while some are left conjectural. We confirm and explain all of them by showing the connection with Y-systems associated with (untwisted and twisted) quantum affine Kac-Moody algebras.
The notion of rational spin double affine Hecke algebras (sDaHa) and rational double affine Hecke-Clifford algebras (DaHCa) associated to classical Weyl groups are introduced. The basic properties of these algebras such as the PBW basis and Dunkl operator representations are established. An algebra isomorphism relating the rational DaHCa to the rational sDaHa is obtained. We further develop a link between the usual rational Cherednik algebra and the rational sDaHa by introducing a notion of rational covering double affine Hecke algebras.
In the previous paper "Symmetric Crystals and Affine Hecke Algebras of Type B", we formulated a conjecture on the relations between certain classes of irreducible representations of affine Hecke algebras of type B and symmetric crystals for $\gl_\infty$. In the first half of this paper (sections 2 and 3), we give a survey of the LLTA type theorem of the affine Hecke algebra of type $A$. In the latter half (sections 4, 5 and 6), we review the construction of the symmetric crystals and the LLTA type conjectures for the affine Hecke algebra of type $B$.
We construct the representation of Double Affine Hecke Algebra whose symmetrization gives the center of the quantum group U_q(sl(2)) and by Kazhdan--Lusztig duality the Verlinde algebra of (1,p) models of logarithmic conformal field theory.
Let $k$ be a field and suppose $p, q\in k$. We prove that the two affine Hecke algebras $H_q$ and $H_p$ of type $A_n$ are isomorphic as $k$-algebras if and only if $p=q^{\pm 1}$.
An affine Hecke algebras can be realized as an equivariant K-group of the corresponding Steinberg variety. This gives rise naturally to some two-sided ideals of the affine Hecke algebra by means of the closures of nilpotent orbits of the corresponding Lie algebra. In this paper we will show that the two-sided ideals are in fact the two-sided ideals of the affine Hecke algebra defined through two-sided cells of the corresponding affine Weyl group after the two-sided ideals are tensored by rational numbers field. This proves a weak form of a conjecture of Ginzburg proposed in 1987.
We introduce an odd double affine Hecke algebra (DaHa) generated by a classical Weyl group W and two skew-polynomial subalgebras of anticommuting generators. This algebra is shown to be Morita equivalent to another new DaHa which are generated by W and two polynomial-Clifford subalgebras. There is yet a third algebra containing a spin Weyl group algebra which is Morita (super)equivalent to the above two algebras. We establish the PBW properties and construct Verma-type representations via Dunkl operators for these algebras.
We introduce a new class (in two versions) of rational double affine Hecke algebras (DaHa) associated to the spin symmetric group. We establish the basic properties of the algebras, such as PBW and Dunkl representation, and connections to Nazarov's degenerate affine Hecke-Clifford algebra and to a new degenerate affine Hecke algebra introduced here. We formulate a Morita equivalence between the two versions of rational DaHa's. The trigonometric generalization of the above constructions is also formulated and its relation to the rational counterpart is established.
A systematic study of the representation theory of double affine Hecke algebras and related harmonic analysis is started in this paper. Continuing the previous papers we use the technique of intertwining operators to create Macdonald polynomials, estimate their denominators, generalize the classical representations of p-adic affine Hecke algebras in the spaces of functions on affine Weyl groups, and to find out when induced representations are irreducible and co-spherical. The connection with recent results by Sahi and Knop on the integrality of the Macdonald polynomials is established.
A method is suggested for obtaining the Plancherel measure for Affine Hecke Algebras as a limit of integral-type formulas for inner products in the polynomial and related modules of Double Affine Hecke Algebras. The analytic continuation necessary here is a generalization of "picking up residues" due to Arthur, Heckman, Opdam and others, which can be traced back to Hermann Weyl. Generally, it is a finite sum of integrals over double affine residual subtori; a complete formula is presented for $A_1$ in the spherical case.
In this article, we define an algebraic version of the Knizhnik--Zamolodchikov functor for the degenerate double affine Hecke algebras (a.k.a. trigonometric Cherednik algebras). We compare it with the KZ monodromy functor constructed by Varagnolo--Vasserot. We prove the double centraliser property for our functor and give a characterisation of its kernel. We establish these results for a family of algebras, called quiver double Hecke algebras, which includes the degenerate double affine Hecke algebras as special cases.
We construct the scattering matrices for an arbitrary Weyl group in terms of elementary operators which obey the generalised Yang-Baxter equation. We use this construction to obtain the affine Hecke algebras. The center of the affine Hecke algebras coincides with commuting Hamiltonians. These Hamiltonians have q-deformed affine Lie algebras as symmetry algebra.
We establish a q-generalization of Gordon's theorem that the space of diagonal coinvariants has a quotient identified with a perfect representation of the rational double affine Hecke algebra. It leads to a simple proof of his theorem and relates it to the Weyl algebras at roots of unity. The universal double affine Hecke algebra and the corresponding universal double Dunkl operators acting in noncommutative polynomials in terms of two sets of variables are introduced.
We give an interpretation of the double affine Hecke algebra of Cherednik as the (suitably regularized) algebra of double cosets of a group G by a subgroup J, extending the well known interpretations of finite and affine Hecke algebras. In this interpretation, G consists of K-points of a split reductive group where K is a 2-dimensional local field such as Q_p((t)) or F_q((t_1))((t_2)), and J is a certain analog of the Iwahori subgroup.
We give an explicit criterion for the irreducibility of some induction products of evaluation modules of affine Hecke algebras of type A. This allows to describe the form of the singularities of the trigonometric R-matrix associated to any evaluation module of U_v(sl^_N).
We give a construction of an affine Hecke algebra associated to any Coxeter group acting on an abelian variety by reflections; in the case of an affine Weyl group, the result is an elliptic analogue of the usual double affine Hecke algebra. As an application, we use a variant of the $\tilde{C}_n$ version of the construction to construct a flat noncommutative deformation of the $n$th symmetric power of any rational surface with a smooth anticanonical curve, and give a further construction which conjecturally is a corresponding deformation of the Hilbert scheme of points.
We introduce and study an affine analogue of skew Young diagrams and tableaux on them. It turns out that the double affine Hecke algebra of type $A$ acts on the space spanned by standard tableaux on each diagram. It is shown that the modules obtained this way are irreducible, and they exhaust all irreducible modules of a certain class over the double affine Hecke algebra. In particular, the classification of irreducible modules of this class, announced by Cherednik, is recovered.
The Lascoux-Leclerc-Thibon conjecture, reformulated and solved by S. Ariki, asserts that the K-group of the representations of the affine Hecke algebras of type A is isomorphic to the algebra of functions on the maximal unipotent subgroup of the group associated with the Lie algebra $gl_\infty$ or the affine Lie algebra $A^{(1)}_\ell$, and the irreducible representations correspond to the upper global bases. In this note, we formulate analogous conjectures for certain classes of irreducible representations of affine Hecke algebras of type B. We corrected typos.
We study a class of representations called ``calibrated representations'' of the degenerate double affine Hecke algebra and those of the rational Cherednik algebra of type ${\mathrm{GL}}_n$. We give a realization of calibrated irreducible modules as spaces of coinvariants constructed from integrable modules over the affine Lie algebra $\hat{\mathfrak{gl}}_m$. Moreover, we give a character formula of these irreducible modules in terms of a level-restricted Kostka polynomials. These results were conjectured by Arakawa, Suzuki and Tsuchiya based on the conformal field theory. The proofs using rec…
The Lascoux-Leclerc-Thibon-Ariki theory asserts that the K-group of the representations of the affine Hecke algebras of type A is isomorphic to the algebra of functions on the maximal unipotent subgroup of the group associated with a Lie algebra $g$ where $g$ is $gl_\infty$ or the affine Lie algebra $A^{(1)}_\ell$, and the irreducible representations correspond to the upper global bases. Recently, N. Enomoto and the first author presented the notion of symmetric crystals and formulated analogous conjectures for the affine Hecke algebras of type B. In this note, we present similar conjectures f…
According to Kazhdan-Lusztig and Ginzburg, the Hecke algebra of an affine Weyl group is identified with the equivariant $K$-group of Steinberg's triple variety. The $K$-group is equipped with a filtration indexed by closed $G$-stable subvarieties of the nilpotent variety, where $G$ is the corresponding reductive algebraic group over $\mathbb{C}$. In this paper we will show in the case of type $A$ that the filtration is compatible with the Kazhdan-Lusztig basis of the Hecke algebra.
We prove that the quotient of the polynomial representation of the double affine Hecke algebra (DAHA) by the radical of the duality pairing is always irreducible assuming that it is finite dimensional (apart from the roots of unity). We also find necessary and sufficient conditions for the radical to be zero, which is a q-generalization of Opdam's formula for the singular k-parameters with the multiple zero-eigenvalues of the corresponding Dunkl operators.
The so called quantized algebras of functions on affine Hecke algebras of type A and the corresponding q-Schur algebras are defined and their irreducible unitarizable representations are classified.
The notion of trigonometric spin double affine Hecke algebras (tsDaHa) and trigonometric double affine Hecke-Clifford algebras (tDaHCa) associated to classical Weyl groups are introduced. The PBW basis property is established. An algebra isomorphism relating tDaHCa to tsDaHa is obtained.
We introduce a class of induced representations of the degenerate double affine Hecke algebra of gl_N and analyze their structure mainly by means of intertwiners. We also construct them from modules of the affine Lie algebra using Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov connections in the conformal field theory. This construction provides a natural quotient of induced modules, which turns out to be the unique irreducible one under a certain condition. Some cunjectual formulas are presented for the symmetric part of these quotients.
We construct nonstandard finite-dimensional representations of type C affine Hecke algebra from the viewpoint of quantum integrable models. There exists two classes of nonstandard solutions to the Yang-Baxter equation called the Cremmer-Gervais and Jordanian R-matrices. These R-matrices also satisfy the Hecke-relation, thus can be used to construct nonstandard finite-dimensional representations of type A affine Hecke algebra. We construct the corresponding nonstandard representations for type C affine Hecke algebra by explicitly constructing solutions to the reflection equation under the Hecke…
We present a construction of invariants for links using an isomorphism theorem for affine Yokonuma--Hecke algebras. The isomorphism relates affine Yokonuma--Hecke algebras with usual affine Hecke algebras. We use it to construct a large class of Markov traces on affine Yokonuma--Hecke algebras, and in turn, to produce invariants for links in the solid torus. By restriction, this construction contains the construction of invariants for classical links from classical Yokonuma--Hecke algebras. In general, the obtained invariants form an infinite family of 3-variables polynomials. As a consequence…
In this article, we define and study the affine and cyclotomic Yokonuma-Hecke algebras. These algebras generalise at the same time the Ariki-Koike and affine Hecke algebras and the Yokonuma-Hecke algebras. We study the representation theory of these algebras and construct several bases for them. We then show how we can define Markov traces on them, which we in turn use to construct invariants for framed and classical knots in the solid torus. Finally, we study the Markov trace with zero parameters on the cyclotomic Yokonuma-Hecke algebras and determine the Schur elements with respect to that t…
We study a Laurent polynomial representation $V$ of the double affine Hecke algebra of type $GL_n$ for specialized parameters $t^{k+1}q^{r-1}=1$. We define a series of subrepresentations of $V$ by using a vanishing condition. For some cases, we give an explicit basis of the subrepresentation in terms of nonsymmetric Macdonald polynomials. These results are nonsymmetric versions of \cite{FJMM} and \cite{KMSV}.
We build representations of the affine and double affine braid groups and Hecke algebras of type $C^\vee C_n$, based upon the theory of quantum symmetric pairs $(U,B)$. In the case $U=U_q(gl_N)$, our constructions provide a quantization of the representations constructed by Etingof, Freund and Ma in arXiv:0801.1530, and also a type $BC$ generalization of the results in arXiv:0805.2766.
We study a class of representations over the degenerate double affine Hecke algebra of gl_n by an algebraic method. As fundamental objects in this class, we introduce certain induced modules and study some of their properties. In particular, it is shown that these induced modules have unique simple quotient modules under certain conditions. Moreover, we show that any simple module in this class is obtained as such a simple quotient, and give a classification of all the simple modules.
A criterion of irreducibility for induction products of evaluation modules of type A affine Hecke algebras is given. It is derived from multiplicative properties of the canonical basis of a quantum deformation of the Bernstein-Zelevinsky ring.
We examine two isomorphisms between affine Hecke algebras of type $A$ associated with parameters $q^{-1}$, $t^{-1}$ and $q$, $t$. One of them maps the non-symmetric Macdonald polynomials $E_η(x;q^{-1},t^{-1})$ onto $E_η(x;q,t)$, while the other maps them onto non-symmetric analogues of the multivariable Al-Salam & Carlitz polynomials. Using the properties of $E_η(x;q^{-1},t^{-1})$, the corresponding properties of these latter polynomials can then be elucidated.
We construct a family of exact functors from the BGG category of representations of the Lie algebra sl to the category of finite-dimensional representations of the degenerate (or graded) affine Hecke algebra H of GL. These functors transform Verma modules to standard modules or zero, and simple modules to simple modules or zero. Any simple H-module can be thus obtained.
In the present paper we generalize the construction of the nil Hecke ring of Kostant-Kumar to the context of an arbitrary algebraic oriented cohomology theory of Levine-Morel and Panin-Smirnov, e.g. to Chow groups, Grothendieck's K_0, connective K-theory, elliptic cohomology, and algebraic cobordism. The resulting object, which we call a formal (affine) Demazure algebra, is parameterized by a one-dimensional commutative formal group law and has the following important property: specialization to the additive and multiplicative periodic formal group laws yields completions of the nil Hecke and …
In the paper, we introduce and calculate difference Fourier transforms on representations of the double affine Hecke algebras in polynomilas, polynomials multiplied by the Gaussian, and various spaces of delta-functions including finite-dimensional ones, give a general description of the semisimple representations with a special consideration of the GL-case, and then gradually restrict ourselves with spherical, pseudo-unitary, and Fourier-invariant representations. The latter generalize the Verlinde algebras and lead to new Gauss-Selberg sums and Macdonald's eta-type identities.
In this paper we give a geometric construction of Cherednik's double affine Hecke algebra. We construct the algebra as the equivariant $K$-theory of the Lagrangian subvariety of the cotangent variety of the square of the flag variety of $G$, the variety being given by the union of the conormal bundles to the $G$-orbits on $\flag\times\flag$. This is a generalisation of work of Kazhdan and Lusztig to the Kac-Moody case, and is suitable for describing a certain class of modules for this algebra. In a paper in preparation we will do this, in the case $G$ is affine (Cherednik's case).
We introduce certain raising and lowering operators for Macdonald polynomials (of type $A_{n-1}$) by means of Dunkl operators. The raising operators we discuss are a natural $q$-analogue of raising operators for Jack polynomials introduced by L.Lapointe and L.Vinet. As an application we prove the integrality of double Kostka coefficients. Double analog of the multinomial coefficients are introduced.
Let $H$ be a generic affine Hecke algebra (Iwahori-Matsumoto definition) over a polynomial algebra with a finite number of indeterminates over the ring of integers. We prove the existence of an integral Bernstein-Lusztig basis related to the Iwahori-Matsumoto basis by a strictly upper triangular matrix, from which we deduce that the center $Z$ of $H$ is finitely generated and that $H$ is a finite type $Z$-module (this was proved after inversion of the parameters by Bernstein-Lusztig), and we give some applications to the theory of $H$-modules where the parameters act by 0. These results are re…
In this paper we derive the bi-orthogonality relations, diagonal term evaluations and evaluation formulas for the non-symmetric Koornwinder polynomials. For the derivation we use certain representations of the (double) affine Hecke algebra which were originally defined by Noumi and Sahi. The structure of the diagonal terms is clarified by expressing them as residues of the bi-orthogonality weight function. We furthermore give the explicit connection between the non-symmetric and the (anti-)symmetric theory.
