The resonance relations are identities between coordinates of functions with values in tensor products of representations of the quantum group Uq(sl2). We show that the space of hypergeometric solutions of the associated qKZB equations is characterized as the space of functions of Baker-Akhiezer type, satisfying the resonance relations. We give an alternative representation-theoretic construction of this space, using the traces of regularized intertwining operators for the quantum group, and thus establish the equivalence between hypergeometric and trace function solutions of the qKZB equations.
We define the quantum conformal blocks as distinguished Weyl anti-invariant hypergeometric qKZB solutions with values in a tensor product of finite-dimensional modules. We prove that for generic q the dimension of the space of quantum conformal blocks equals the dimension of the quantum group invariants, and is computed by the Verlinde algebra when q is a root of unity.
In our previous paper math.QA/9907181, to every finite dimensional representation V of the quantum group U_q(g), we attached the trace function F^V(λ,μ), with values in End V[0], obtained by taking the (weighted) trace in a Verma module of an intertwining operator. We showed that these trace functions satisfy the Macdonald-Ruijsenaars and the qKZB equations, their dual versions, and the symmetry identity. In this paper we show that the trace functions satisfy the orthogonality relation and the qKZB-heat equation. For g=sl_2, this statement is the trigonometric degeneration of a conjecture of F…
It is shown that the deformed Macdonald-Ruijsenaars operators can be described as the restrictions on certain affine subvarieties of the usual Macdonald-Ruijsenaars operator in infinite number of variables. The ideals of these varieties are shown to be generated by the Macdonald polynomials related to Young diagrams with special geometry. The super Macdonald polynomials and their shifted version are introduced, the combinatorial formulas for them are given.
We present a direct approach to the bispectral problem associated with the Ruijsenaars-Macdonald q-difference operators of GL type. We give an explicit construction of the meromorphic function psi_n(x;s|q,t) on T^n_x T^n_s, which is the solution of the bispectral problem up to a certain gauge transformation. Some basic properties of psi_n(x;s|q,t) are studied, including the structure of the divisor of poles, the symmetries psi_n(x;s|q,t)=psi_n(s;x|q,t)=psi_n(x;s|q,q/t), and the recursive structure described in terms of Jackson integrals or q-difference operators.
We study a pair of commuting difference operators arising from the elliptic solution of the dynamical Yang-Baxter equation of type C_2. The operators act on the space of meromorphic functions on the weight space of sp(4,C). We show that these operators can be identified with the system by van Diejen and by Komori-Hikami with special parameters. It turns out that our case can be related to the difference Lame operator (two-body Ruijsenaars operator) and thereby we diagonalize the system on the finite dimensional space spanned by the level one characters of the C_2^{(1)}-affine Lie algebra.
We consider the polynomial representation of Double Affine Hecke Algebras (DAHAs) and construct its submodules as ideals of functions vanishing on the special collections of affine planes. This generalizes certain results of Kasatani in types A_n, (C_n^\vee,C_n). We obtain commutative algebras of difference operators given by the action of invariant combinations of Cherednik-Dunkl operators in the corresponding quotient modules of the polynomial representation. This gives known and new generalized Macdonald-Ruijsenaars systems. Thus in the cases of DAHAs of types A_n and (C_n^\vee,C_n) we deri…
We propose and prove a set of identities for ${\rm GL}_M$ elliptic $R$-matrix (in the fundamental representation). In the scalar case ($M=1$) these are elliptic function identities derived by S.N.M. Ruijsenaars as necessary and sufficient conditions for his kernel identity underlying construction of integral solutions to quantum spinless Ruijsenaars-Schneider model. In this respect the result of the present paper can be considered as the first step towards constructing solutions of quantum eigenvalue problem for the anisotropic spin Ruijsenaars model.
Heckman introduced $N$ operators on the space of polynomials in $N$ variables, such that these operators form a covariant set relative to permutations of the operators and variables, and such that Jack symmetric polynomials are eigenfunctions of the power sums of these operators. We introduce the analogues of these $N$ operators for Macdonald symmetric polynomials, by using Cherednik operators. The latter operators pairwise commute, and Macdonald polynomials are eigenfunctions of their power sums. We compute the limits of our operators at $N\to\infty$. These limits yield the same Lax operator …
Using the Baker-Akhiezer function technique we construct a separation of variables for the classical trigonometric 3-particle Ruijsenaars model (relativistic generalization of Calogero-Moser-Sutherland model). In the quantum case, an integral operator M is constructed from the Askey-Wilson contour integral. The operator M transforms the eigenfunctions of the commuting Hamiltonians (Macdonald polynomials for the root sytem A2) into the factorized form S(y1)S(y2) where S(y) is a Laurent polynomial of one variable expressed in terms of the 3phi2(y) basic hypergeometric series. The inversion of M …
Kajihara obtained in 2004 a remarkable transformation formula connecting multiple basic hypergeometric series associated with $A$-type root systems of different ranks. By multiple principle specialisations of his formula, we deduce kernel identities for deformed Macdonald-Ruijsenaars (MR) and Noumi-Sano (NS) operators. The deformed MR operators were introduced by Sergeev and Veselov in the first order case and by Feigin and Silantyev in the higher order cases. As applications of our kernel identities, we prove that all of these operators pairwise commute and are simultaneously diagonalised by …
We construct the non-stationary Ruijsenaars functions (affine analogue of the Macdonald functions) in the special case $κ=t^{-1/N}$, using the intertwining operators of the Ding-Iohara-Miki algebra (DIM algebra) associated with $N$-fold Fock tensor spaces. By the $S$-duality of the intertwiners, another expression is obtained for the non-stationary Ruijsenaars functions with $κ=t^{-1/N}$, which can be regarded as a natural elliptic lift of the asymptotic Macdonald functions to the multivariate elliptic hypergeometric series. We also investigate some properties of the vertex operator of the DIM…
We modify and give complete proofs for the results of Etingof-Schiffmann-Varchenko on traces of intertwiners of untwisted quantum affine algebras in the opposite coproduct and the standard grading. More precisely, we show that certain normalized generalized traces for $U_q(\hat{\mathfrak{g}})$ solve four commuting systems of q-difference equations: the Macdonald-Ruijsenaars, dual Macdonald-Ruijsenaars, q-KZB, and dual q-KZB equations. In addition, we show a symmetry property for these renormalized trace functions. Our modifications are motivated by their appearance in recent work of the author…
For Belavin's elliptic quantum R-matrix, we construct an L-operator as a set of difference operators acting on functions on the type A weight space. According to the fundamental relation $RLL=LLR$, the trace of the L-operator gives a commuting difference operators. We show that for the above mentioned L-operator this approach gives Macdonald type operators with elliptic theta function coefficient, actually equivalent to Ruijsenaars' operators. The relationship between the difference L-operator and Krichever's Lax matrix as well as other approaches for the elliptic commuting system is given. We…
We study some classical integrable systems naturally associated with multiplicative quiver varieties for the (extended) cyclic quiver with $m$ vertices. The phase space of our integrable systems is obtained by quasi-Hamiltonian reduction from the space of representations of the quiver. Three families of Poisson-commuting functions are constructed and written explicitly in suitable Darboux coordinates. The case $m=1$ corresponds to the tadpole quiver and the Ruijsenaars-Schneider system and its variants, while for $m>1$ we obtain new integrable systems that generalise the Ruijsenaars-Schneider …
We study the $q$-analogue of the Haldane-Shastry model, a partially isotropic (XXZ-like) long-range spin chain that enjoys quantum-affine (really: quantum-loop) symmetries at finite size. We derive the pairwise form of the Hamiltonian, found by one of us building on work of Uglov, via 'freezing' from the affine Hecke algebra. We obtain explicit expressions for the spin-analogue of Macdonald operators. Through freezing these yield the higher Hamiltonians of the spin chain, including a Hamiltonian of the opposite chirality. The sum of the two chiral Hamiltonians has a real spectrum also for $q$ …
This paper is a continuation of math.QA/9907181 and math.QA/9908115. We consider traces of intertwiners between certain representations of the quantized enveloping algebra associated to a semisimple complex Lie algebra g, which are twisted by a ``generalized Belavin-Drinfeld triple'', i.e a triple consisting of two subdiagrams of the Dynkin diagram of g together with an isomorphism between them. The generating functions F(lambda,mu) for such traces depend on two weights lambda and mu. We show that F(lambda,mu) satisfy two sets of difference equations in the variable lambda: the Macdonald-Ruijs…
We establish orthogonality relations for the Baker-Akhiezer (BA) eigenfunctions of the Macdonald difference operators. We also obtain a version of Cherednik-Macdonald-Mehta integral for these functions. As a corollary, we give a simple derivation of the norm identity and Cherednik-Macdonald-Mehta integral for Macdonald polynomials. In the appendix written by the first author, we prove a summation formula for BA functions. We also consider more general identities of Cherednik type, which we use to introduce and construct more general, twisted BA functions. This leads to a construction of new qu…
The main object considered in this paper is the trace function, defined as a suitably normalized trace of a product of intertwining operators for the Drinfeld-Jimbo quantum group, multiplied by the exponential of an element of the Cartan subalgebra. This function depends of two parameters -- the element of the Cartan subalgebra, and the highest weight of the Verma module in which the trace is taken. The main results of the paper are that the trace function satisfies two systems of difference equations with respect to the first parameter (the quantum Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov-Bernard and Macdonald…
This paper gives some further details of proofs of some theorems related to the quantum dynamical Yang-Baxter equation. This mainly expands proofs given in "Lectures on the dynamical Yang-Baxter equation" by P. Etingof and O. Schiffmann, math.QA/9908064. This concerns the intertwining operator, the fusion matrix, the exchange matrix and the difference operators. The last part expands proofs given in "Traces of intertwiners for quantum groups and difference equations, I" by P. Etingof and A. Varchenko, math.QA/9907181. This concerns the dual Macdonald-Ruijsenaars equations. This paper does not …
In this paper we study twisted traces of products of intertwining operators for quantum affine algebras. They are interesting special functions, depending on two weights lambda, mu, three scalar parameters q, omega, k, and spectral parameters z_1,...,z_N, which may be regarded as q-analogs of conformal blocks of the Wess-Zumino-Witten model on an elliptic curve. It is expected that in the rank 1 case they essentially coincide with the elliptic hypergeometric functions defined in math.QA/0110081. Our main result is that after a suitable renormalization the traces satisfy four systems of differe…
We use the double affine Hecke algebra of type GL_N to construct an explicit consistent system of q-difference equations, which we call the bispectral quantum Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov (BqKZ) equations. BqKZ includes, besides Cherednik's quantum affine KZ equations associated to principal series representations of the underlying affine Hecke algebra, a compatible system of q-difference equations acting on the central character of the principal series representations. We construct a meromorphic self-dual solution Φof BqKZ which, upon suitable specializations of the central character, reduces to sy…
