We construct the non-stationary Ruijsenaars functions (affine analogue of the Macdonald functions) in the special case $κ=t^{-1/N}$, using the intertwining operators of the Ding-Iohara-Miki algebra (DIM algebra) associated with $N$-fold Fock tensor spaces. By the $S$-duality of the intertwiners, another expression is obtained for the non-stationary Ruijsenaars functions with $κ=t^{-1/N}$, which can be regarded as a natural elliptic lift of the asymptotic Macdonald functions to the multivariate elliptic hypergeometric series. We also investigate some properties of the vertex operator of the DIM algebra appearing in the present algebraic framework; an integral operator which commutes with the elliptic Ruijsenaars operator, and the degeneration of the vertex operators to the Virasoro primary fields in the conformal limit $q \rightarrow 1$.
In this thesis, we obtain the formula for the Kac determinant of the algebra arising from the level $N$ representation of the Ding-Iohara-Miki algebra. This formula can be proved by decomposing the level $N$ representation into the deformed $W$-algebra part and the $U(1)$ boson part, and using the screening currents of the deformed $W$-algebra. It is also discovered that singular vectors obtained by its screening currents correspond to the generalized Macdonald functions. Moreover, we investigate the $q \rightarrow 0$ limit of five-dimensional AGT correspondence. In this limit, the simplest 5D…
We derive a generalized Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov equation for the correlation function of the intertwiners of the vector and the MacMahon representations of Ding-Iohara-Miki algebra. These intertwiners are cousins of the refined topological vertex which is regarded as the intertwining operator of the Fock representation. The shift of the spectral parameter of the intertwiners is generated by the operator which is constructed from the universal $R$ matrix. The solutions to the generalized KZ equation are factorized into the ratio of two point functions which are identified with generalizations of…
We notice that the famous pentagon identity for quantum dilogarithm functions and the five-term relation for certain operators related to Macdonald polynomials discovered by Garsia and Mellit can both be understood as specific cases of a general "master pentagon identity" for group-like elements in the Ding-Iohara-Miki (or quantum toroidal, or elliptic Hall) algebra. We perform some checks of this remarkable identity and discuss its implications.
We derive the generalization of the Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov equation (KZE) associated with the Ding-Iohara-Miki (DIM) algebra U_{q,t}(\widehat{\widehat{\mathfrak{gl}}}_1). We demonstrate that certain refined topological string amplitudes satisfy these equations and find that the braiding transformations are performed by the R-matrix of U_{q,t}(\widehat{\widehat{\mathfrak{gl}}}_1). The resulting syste is the uplifting of the \widehat{\mathfrak{u}}_1 Wess-Zumino-Witten model. The solutions to the (q,t)-KZE are identified with the (spectral dual of) building blocks of the Nekrasov partition functi…
In the paper [J. Math. Phys. 50 (2009), 095215, 42 pages, arXiv:0904.2291], Feigin, Hashizume, Hoshino, Shiraishi, and Yanagida constructed two families of commuting operators which contain the Macdonald operator (commutative families of the Macdonald operator). They used the Ding-Iohara-Miki algebra and the trigonometric Feigin-Odesskii algebra. In the previous paper [arXiv:1301.4912], the present author constructed the elliptic Ding-Iohara-Miki algebra and the free field realization of the elliptic Macdonald operator. In this paper, we show that by using the elliptic Ding-Iohara-Miki algebra…
In [1], Nakatsu and Takasaki have shown that the melting crystal model behind the topological strings vertex provides a tau-function of the KP hierarchy after an appropriate time deformation. We revisit their derivation with a focus on the underlying quantum $W_{1+\infty}$ symmetry. Specifically, we point out the role played by automorphisms and the connection with the intertwiner - or vertex operator - of the algebra. This algebraic perspective allows us to extend part of their derivation to the refined melting crystal model, lifting the algebra to the quantum toroidal algebra of $\mathfrak{g…
We consider the motivic Hall algebra of coherent sheaves over an irreducible reduced projective curve of arithmetic genus $1$. We introduce the composition subalgebra in the singular curve case, and show that it is isomorphic to the composition subalgebra for a smooth elliptic curve. As in the case of smooth elliptic case studied by Burban and Schiffmann, the reduced Drinfeld double of the composition subalgebra is isomorphic to the quantum toroidal algebra for $\mathfrak{gl}_1$ (also called Ding-Iohara-Miki algebra), and it inherits automorphisms induced from equivalences of the associated de…
We give a proof of Awata and Yamada's conjecture for the explicit formula of Whittaker vector of the deformed Virasoro algebra realized in the Fock space. The formula is expressed as a summation over Macdonald symmetric functions with factored coefficients. In the proof we fully use currents appearing in the Fock representation of Ding-Iohara-Miki quantum algebra. We also mention an interpretation of Whittaker vector in terms of the geometry of the Hilbert schemes of points on the affine plane.
The instanton partition functions of $\mathcal{N}=1$ 5d super Yang-Mills are built using elements of the representation theory of quantum $\mathcal{W}_{1+\infty}$ algebra: Gaiotto state, intertwiner, vertex operator. This algebra is also known under the names of Ding-Iohara-Miki and quantum toroidal $\widehat{\mathfrak{gl}}(1)$ algebra. Exploiting the explicit action of the algebra on the partition function, we prove the regularity of the 5d qq-characters. These characters provide a solution to the Schwinger-Dyson equations, and they can also be interpreted as a quantum version of the Seiberg-…
An explicit formula is obtained for the generalized Macdonald functions on the $N$-fold Fock tensor spaces, calculating a certain matrix element of a composition of several screened vertex operators. As an application, we prove the factorization property of the arbitrary matrix elements of the multi-valent intertwining operator (or refined topological vertex operator) associated with the Ding--Iohara--Miki algebra (DIM algebra) with respect to the generalized Macdonald functions, which was conjectured by Awata, Feigin, Hoshino, Kanai, Yanagida and one of the authors. Our proof is based on the …
Some BPS quantities of $\mathcal{N}=1$ 5D quiver gauge theories, like instanton partition functions or qq-characters, can be constructed as algebraic objects of the Ding-Iohara-Miki (DIM) algebra. This construction is applied here to $\mathcal{N}=2$ super Yang-Mills theories in four dimensions using a degenerate version of the DIM algebra. We build up the equivalent of horizontal and vertical representations, the first one being defined using vertex operators acting on a free boson's Fock space, while the second one is essentially equivalent to the action of Vasserot-Shiffmann's Spherical Heck…
The Macdonald process is a stochastic process on the collection of partitions that is a $(q,t)$-deformed generalization of the Schur process. In this paper, we approach the Macdonald process identifying the space of symmetric functions with a Fock representation of a Heisenberg algebra. By using the free field realization of operators diagonalized by the Macdonald symmetric functions, we propose a method of computing several correlation functions with respect to the Macdonald process. It is well-known that expectation value of several observables for the Macdonald process admit determinantal e…
We describe the general strategy for lifting the Wess-Zumino-Witten model from the level of one-loop Kac-Moody $U_q(\widehat{\mathfrak{g}})_k$ to generic quantum toroidal algebras. A nearly exhaustive presentation is given for the two series $U_{q,t}(\widehat{\widehat{\mathfrak{gl}}}_1)$ and $U_{q,t}(\widehat{\widehat{\mathfrak{gl}}}_n)$, when screenings do not exist and thus all the correlators are purely algebraic, i.e. do not include additional hypergeometric type integrations/summations. Generalizing the construction of the intertwiner (refined topological vertex) of the Ding-Iohara-Miki (…
We introduce a unital associative algebra A over degenerate CP^1. We show that A is a commutative algebra and whose Poincar'e series is given by the number of partitions. Thereby we can regard A as a smooth degeneration limit of the elliptic algebra introduced by one of the authors and Odesskii. Then we study the commutative family of the Macdonald difference operators acting on the space of symmetric functions. A canonical basis is proposed for this family by using A and the Heisenberg representation of the commutative family studied by one of the authors. It is found that the Ding-Iohara alg…
