For any semisimple Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$, the universal enveloping algebra of the infinite-dimensional pro-nilpotent Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}_-:=\mathfrak{g}\otimes t^{-1}\mathbb{C}[t^{-1}]$ contains a large commutative subalgebra $\mathcal{A}\subset U(\mathfrak{g}_-)$. This subalgebra comes from the center of the universal enveloping of the affine Kac--Moody algebra $\hat{\mathfrak{g}}$ at the critical level and gives rise to the construction of higher hamiltonians of the Gaudin model (due to Feigin, Frenkel and Reshetikhin). Though there are no explicit formulas for the generators of $\mathcal{A}$ known in general, the "classical analogue" of this subalgebra, i.e. the associated graded subalgebra in the Poisson algebra $A\subset S(\mathfrak{g}_-)$, can be easily described. In this note we show that the "classical" subalgebra $A\subset S(\mathfrak{g}_-)$ is the Poisson centralizer of some of its quadratic elements, and deduce from this that the "quantum" subalgebra $\mathcal{A}\subset U(\mathfrak{g}_-)$ is uniquely determined by the space of quadratic elements of the classical one. In particular, this means that some different constructions of higher Gaudin hamiltonians (namely, Feigin-Frenkel-Reshetikhin's method and Talalaev-Chervov's method), give the same family of commuting operators. The proof uses some ideas of the previous paper math.QA/0608586.
We show that the Gaudin Hamiltonians H_1,...,H_n generate the Bethe algebra of the n-fold tensor power of the vector representation of gl_N. Surprisingly the formula for the generators of the Bethe algebra in terms of the Gaudin Hamiltonians does not depend on N. Moreover, this formula coincides with Wilson's formula for the stationary Baker-Akhiezer function on the adelic Grassmannian.
To any simple Lie algebra $\mathfrak g$ and automorphism $σ:\mathfrak g\to \mathfrak g$ we associate a cyclotomic Gaudin algebra. This is a large commutative subalgebra of $U(\mathfrak g)^{\otimes N}$ generated by a hierarchy of cyclotomic Gaudin Hamiltonians. It reduces to the Gaudin algebra in the special case $σ= \text{id}$. We go on to construct joint eigenvectors and their eigenvalues for this hierarchy of cyclotomic Gaudin Hamiltonians, in the case of a spin chain consisting of a tensor product of Verma modules. To do so we generalize an approach to the Bethe ansatz due to Feigin, Frenke…
In this work we will use a general procedure to construct higher local Hamiltonians for the affine $\mathfrak{sl}_2$ Gaudin model. We focus on the first non-trivial example, the quartic Hamiltonians. We show by direct calculation that the quartic Hamiltonians commute amongst themselves and with the quadratic Hamiltonians which define the model. We go on to introduce a certain next-to-leading-order semi-classical limit of the model. In this limit, we are able to write down the full hierarchy of higher local Hamiltonians and prove that they commute.
We consider the trigonometric classical $r$-matrix for $\mathfrak{gl}_N$ and the associated quantum Gaudin model. We produce higher Hamiltonians in an explicit form by applying the limit $q\to 1$ to elements of the Bethe subalgebra for the $XXZ$ model.
We study the difference analog of the quotient differential operator from [Tarasov V., Uvarov F., Lett. Math. Phys. 110 (2020), 3375-3400, arXiv:1907.02117]. Starting with a space of quasi-exponentials $W=\langle α_{i}^{x}p_{ij}(x),\, i=1,\dots, n,\, j=1,\dots, n_{i}\rangle$, where $α_{i}\in{\mathbb C}^{*}$ and $p_{ij}(x)$ are polynomials, we consider the formal conjugate $\check{S}^{\dagger}_{W}$ of the quotient difference operator $\check{S}_{W}$ satisfying $\widehat{S} =\check{S}_{W}S_{W}$. Here, $S_{W}$ is a linear difference operator of order $\dim W$ annihilating $W$, and $\widehat{S}$ i…
The generating function for elements of the Bethe subalgebra of Hecke algebra is constructed as Sklyanin's transfer-matrix operator for Hecke chain. We show that in a special classical limit q -> 1 the Hamiltonians of the Gaudin model can be derived from the transfer-matrix operator of Hecke chain. We consruct a non-local analogue of the Gaudin Hamiltonians for the case of Hecke algebras.
We construct cubic Hamiltonians for quantum Gaudin models of affine types $\hat{\mathfrak{sl}}_M$. They are given by hypergeometric integrals of a form we recently conjectured in arXiv:1804.01480. We prove that they commute amongst themselves and with the quadratic Hamiltonians. We prove that their vacuum eigenvalues, and their eigenvalues for one Bethe root, are given by certain hypergeometric functions on a space of affine opers.
The Poisson structure arising in the Hamiltonian approach to the rational Gaudin model looks very similar to the so-called modified Reflection Equation Algebra. Motivated by this analogy, we realize a braiding of the mentioned Poisson structure, i.e. we introduce a "braided Poisson" algebra associated with an involutive solution to the quantum Yang-Baxter equation. Also, we exhibit another generalization of the Gaudin type Poisson structure by replacing the first derivative in the current parameter, entering the so-called local form of this structure, by a higher order derivative. Finally, we …
We study the Gaudin models associated with $\mathfrak{gl}(1|1)$. We give an explicit description of the algebra of Hamiltonians (Gaudin Hamiltonians) acting on tensor products of polynomial evaluation $\mathfrak{gl}(1|1)[t]$-modules. It follows that there exists a bijection between common eigenvectors (up to proportionality) of the algebra of Hamiltonians and monic divisors of an explicit polynomial written in terms of the highest weights and evaluation parameters. In particular, our result implies that each common eigenspace of the algebra of Hamiltonians has dimension one. Therefore, we conf…
The Richardson-Gaudin model describes strong pairing correlations of fermions confined to a finite chain. The integrability of the Hamiltonian allows for its eigenstates to be constructed algebraically. In this work we show that quantum group theory provides a possibility to deform the Hamiltonian while preserving integrability. More precisely, we use the so-called Jordanian r-matrix to deform the Hamiltonian of the Richardson-Gaudin model. In order to preserve its integrability, we need to insert a special nilpotent term into the auxiliary L-operator which generates integrals of motion of the…
This paper presents a new approach to the Hamiltonian structure of isomonodromic deformations of a matrix system of ODE's on a torus. An isomonodromic analogue of the $\rmSU(2)$ Calogero-Gaudin system is used for a case study of this approach. A clue of this approach is a mapping to a finite number of points on the spectral curve of the isomonodromic Lax equation. The coordinates of these moving points give a new set of Darboux coordinates called the spectral Darboux coordinates. The system of isomonodromic deformations is thereby converted to a non-autonomous Hamiltonian system in the spectra…
We introduce a class of quantum integrable systems generalizing the Gaudin model. The corresponding algebras of quantum Hamiltonians are obtained as quotients of the center of the enveloping algebra of an affine Kac-Moody algebra at the critical level, extending the construction of higher Gaudin Hamiltonians from hep-th/9402022 to the case of non-highest weight representations of affine algebras. We show that these algebras are isomorphic to algebras of functions on the spaces of opers on P^1 with regular as well as irregular singularities at finitely many points. We construct eigenvectors of …
This paper is devoted to the eigenvalue problem for the quantum Gaudin system. We prove the universal correspondence between eigenvalues of Gaudin Hamiltonians and the so-called G-opers without monodromy in general gl(n) case modulo a hypothesys on the analytic properties of the solution of a KZ-type equation. Firstly we explore the quantum analog of the characteristic polynomial which is a differential operator in a variable $u$ with the coefficients in U(gl(n))^{\otimes N}. We will call it "universal G-oper". It is constructed by the formula "Det"(L(u)-\partial_u) where L(u) is the quantum L…
This paper presents a construction of isospectral problems on the torus. The construction starts from an SU(n) version of the XYZ Gaudin model recently studied by Kuroki and Takebe in the context of a twisted WZW model. In the classical limit, the quantum Hamiltonians of the generalized Gaudin model turn into classical Hamiltonians with a natural $r$-matrix structure. These Hamiltonians are used to build a non-autonomous multi-time Hamiltonian system, which is eventually shown to be an isomonodromic problem on the torus. This isomonodromic problem can also be reproduced from an elliptic analog…
In this article we exploit the known commutative family in Y(gl(n)) - the Bethe subalgebra - and its special limit to construct quantization of the Gaudin integrable system. We give explicit expressions for quantum hamiltonians QI_k(u), k=1,..., n. At small order k=1,...,3 they coincide with the quasiclassic ones, even in the case k=4 we obtain quantum correction.
We establish a duality of the non-periodic Gaudin model associated with superalgebra $\mathfrak{gl}_{m|n}$ and the non-periodic Gaudin model associated with algebra $\mathfrak{gl}_k$. The Hamiltonians of the Gaudin models are given by expansions of a Berezinian of an $(m+n)\times(m+n)$ matrix in the case of $\mathfrak{gl}_{m|n}$ and of a column determinant of a $k\times k$ matrix in the case of $\mathfrak{gl}_k$. We obtain our results by proving Capelli type identities for both cases and comparing the results.
We consider the gl_N Gaudin model of a tensor power of the standard vector representation. The geometric Langlands correspondence in the Gaudin model relates the Bethe algebra of the commuting Gaudin Hamiltonians and the algebra of functions on a suitable space of N-th order differential operators. In this paper we introduce a third side of the correspondence: the algebra of functions on the critical set of a master function. We construct isomorphisms of the third algebra and the first two. A new object is the Bethe vector averaging maps.
Gaudin algebras form a family of maximal commutative subalgebras in the tensor product of $n$ copies of the universal enveloping algebra $U(\g)$ of a semisimple Lie algebra $\g$. This family is parameterized by collections of pairwise distinct complex numbers $z_1,...,z_n$. We obtain some new commutative subalgebras in $U(\g)^{\otimes n}$ as limit cases of Gaudin subalgebras. These commutative subalgebras turn to be related to the hamiltonians of bending flows and to the Gelfand--Tsetlin bases. We use this to prove the simplicity of spectrum in the Gaudin model for some new cases.
We derive explicit formulas for solutions of the Bethe Ansatz equations of the Gaudin model associated to the tensor product of one arbitrary finite-dimensional irreducible module and one vector representation for all simple Lie algebras of classical type. We use this result to show that the Bethe Ansatz is complete in any tensor product where all but one factor are vector representations and the evaluation parameters are generic. We also show that except for the type D, the joint spectrum of Gaudin Hamiltonians in such tensor products is simple.
We discuss the Bethe ansatz in the Gaudin model on the tensor product of finite-dimensional $sl_2$-modules over the field $F_p$ with $p$ elements, where $p$ is a prime number. We define the Bethe ansatz equations and show that if $(t^0_1,\dots,t^0_k)$ is a solution of the Bethe ansatz equations, then the corresponding Bethe vector is an eigenvector of the Gaudin Hamiltonians. We characterize solutions $(t^0_1,\dots,t^0_k)$ of the Bethe ansatz equations as certain two-dimensional subspaces of the space of polynomials $F_p[x]$. We consider the case when the number of parameters $k$ equals 1. In …
Gaudin algebra is the commutative subalgebra in $U(\mathfrak{g})^{\otimes N}$ generated by higher integrals of the quantum Gaudin magnet chain attached to a semisimple Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$. This algebra depends on a collection of pairwise distinct complex numbers $z_1,\ldots,z_N$. We prove that this subalgebra has a cyclic vector in the space of singular vectors of the tensor product of any finite-dimensional irreducible $\mathfrak{g}$-modules, for all values of the parameters $z_1,\ldots,z_N$. We deduce from this result the Bethe Ansatz conjecture in the Feigin-Frenkel form which states…
We conjecture that quantum Gaudin models in affine types admit families of local higher Hamiltonians, labelled by the (countably infinite set of) exponents, whose eigenvalues are given by functions on a space of meromorphic opers associated with the Langlands dual Lie algebra. This is in direct analogy with the situation in finite types. However, in stark contrast to finite types, we prove that in affine types such functions take the form of hypergeometric integrals, over cycles of a twisted homology defined by the levels of the modules at the marked points. That result prompts the further con…
We construct a family of maximal commutative subalgebras in the tensor product of n copies of the universal enveloping algebra U(g) of a semisimple Lie algebra g. This family is parameterized by collections μ; z_1,...,z_n, where μ\in g^*, and z_1,...,z_n are pairwise distinct complex numbers. The construction presented here generalizes the famous construction of the higher Gaudin hamiltonians due to Feigin, Frenkel, and Reshetikhin. For n=1, our construction gives a quantization of the family of maximal Poisson-commutative subalgebras in S(g) obtained by the argument shift method. Next, we des…
The goal of this paper is to give a geometric construction of the Bethe algebra (of Hamiltonians) of a Gaudin model associated to a simple Lie algebra. More precisely, in this paper a quantum integrable model is assigned to a weighted arrangement of affine hyperplanes. We show (under certain assumptions) that the algebra of Hamiltonians of the model is isomorphic to the algebra of functions on the critical set of the corresponding master function. For a discriminantal arrangement we show (under certain assumptions) that the symmetric part of the algebra of Hamiltonians is isomorphic to the Bet…
An integrable system is introduced, which is a generalization of the $\mathfrak{sl}(2)$ quantum affine Gaudin model. Among other things, the Hamiltonians are constructed and their spectrum is calculated within the ODE/IQFT approach. The model fits within the framework of Yang-Baxter integrability. This opens a way for the systematic quantization of a large class of integrable non-linear sigma models. There may also be some interest in terms of Condensed Matter applications, as the theory can be thought of as a multiparametric generalization of the Kondo model.
This is a review of our previous works (some of them joint with B. Feigin and N. Reshetikhin) on the Gaudin model and opers. We define a commutative subalgebra in the tensor power of the universal enveloping algebra of a simple Lie algebra g. This algebra includes the hamiltonians of the Gaudin model, hence we call it the Gaudin algebra. It is constructed as a quotient of the center of the completed enveloping algebra of the affine Kac-Moody algebra g^ at the critical level. We identify the spectrum of the Gaudin algebra with the space of opers associated to the Langlands dual Lie algebra of g…
The complete integrability of the hyperbolic Gaudin Hamiltonian and other related integrable systems is shown to be easily derived by taking into account their sl(2,R) coalgebra symmetry. By using the properties induced by such a coalgebra structure, it can be proven that the introduction of any quantum deformation of the sl(2,R) algebra will provide an integrable deformation for such systems. In particular, the Gaudin Hamiltonian arising from the non-standard quantum deformation of the sl(2,R) Poisson algebra is presented, including the explicit expressions for its integrals of motion. A comp…
We consider the problem of diagonalization of the hamiltonians of the Gaudin model, which is a quantum chain model associated to a simple Lie algebra. The hamiltonians of this model act on the tensor product of finite-dimensional representations of this Lie algebra. We show that the eigenvalues of the Gaudin hamiltonians are encoded by the so-called "opers" on the projective line, associated to the Langlands dual Lie algebra. These opers have regular singularities at the marked points with prescribed residues and trivial monodromy representation. The Bethe Ansatz is a procedure to construct ex…
We describe a reproduction procedure which, given a solution of the $\mathfrak{gl}_{M|N}$ Gaudin Bethe ansatz equation associated to a tensor product of polynomial modules, produces a family $P$ of other solutions called the population. To a population we associate a rational pseudodifferential operator $R$ and a superspace $W$ of rational functions. We show that if at least one module is typical then the population $P$ is canonically identified with the set of minimal factorizations of $R$ and with the space of full superflags in $W$. We conjecture that the singular eigenvectors (up to rescal…
We consider the problem of quantization of classical soliton integrable systems, such as the KdV hierarchy, in the framework of a general formalism of Gaudin models associated to affine Kac--Moody algebras. Our experience with the Gaudin models associated to finite-dimensional simple Lie algebras suggests that the common eigenvalues of the mutually commuting quantum Hamiltonians in a model associated to an affine algebra should be encoded by affine opers associated to the Langlands dual affine algebra. This leads us to some concrete predictions for the spectra of the quantum Hamiltonians of th…
We investigate the construction of the quantum commuting hamiltonians for the Gaudin integrable model. We prove that [Tr L^k(z), Tr L^m(u) ]=0, for k,m < 4 . However this naive receipt of quantization of classically commuting hamiltonians fails in general, for example we prove that [Tr L^4(z), Tr L^2(u) ] \ne 0. We investigate in details the case of the one spin Gaudin model with the magnetic field also known as the model obtained by the "argument shift method". Mathematically speaking this method gives maximal Poisson commutative subalgebras in the symmetric algebra S(gl(N)). We show that suc…
A general procedure to get the explicit solution of the equations of motion for N-body classical Hamiltonian systems equipped with coalgebra symmetry is introduced by defining a set of appropriate collective variables which are based on the iterations of the coproduct map on the generators of the algebra. In this way several examples of N-body dynamical systems obtained from q-Poisson algebras are explicitly solved: the q-deformed version of the sl(2) Calogero-Gaudin system (q-CG), a q-Poincare' Gaudin system and a system of Ruijsenaars type arising from the same (non co-boundary) q-deformatio…
Completely integrable Hamiltonians defining classical mechanical systems of $N$ coupled oscillators are obtained from Poisson realizations of Heisenberg--Weyl, harmonic oscillator and $sl(2,\R)$ coalgebras. Various completely integrable deformations of such systems are constructed by considering quantum deformations of these algebras. Explicit expressions for all the deformed Hamiltonians and constants of motion are given, and the long-range nature of the interactions is shown to be linked to the underlying coalgebra structure. The relationship between oscillator systems induced from the $sl(2…
For each simple Lie algebra g consider the corresponding affine vertex algebra V_{crit}(g) at the critical level. The center of this vertex algebra is a commutative associative algebra whose structure was described by a remarkable theorem of Feigin and Frenkel about two decades ago. However, only recently simple formulas for the generators of the center were found for the Lie algebras of type A following Talalaev's discovery of explicit higher Gaudin Hamiltonians. We give explicit formulas for generators of the centers of the affine vertex algebras V_{crit}(g) associated with the simple Lie al…
The Yangian $Y(\mathfrak{g})$ of a simple Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$ can be regarded as a deformation of two different Hopf algebras: the universal enveloping algebra $U(\mathfrak{g}[t])$ and the coordinate ring of the first congruence subgroup $\mathcal{O}(G_1[[t^{-1}]])$. Both of these algebras are obtained from the Yangian by taking the associated graded with respect to an appropriate filtration on Yangian. Bethe subalgebras form a natural family of commutative subalgebras depending on a group element $C$ of the adjoint group $G$. The images of these algebras in tensor products of fundament…
