Affine quantum groups are certain pseudo-quasitriangular Hopf algebras that arise in mathematical physics in the context of integrable quantum field theory, integrable quantum spin chains, and solvable lattice models. They provide the algebraic framework behind the spectral parameter dependent Yang-Baxter equation.
One can distinguish three classes of affine quantum groups, each leading to a different dependence of the R-matrices on the spectral parameter: Yangians lead to rational R-matrices, quantum affine algebras lead to trigonometric R-matrices and elliptic quantum groups lead to elliptic R-matrices. We will mostly concentrate on the quantum affine algebras but many results hold similarly for the other classes.
After giving mathematical details about quantum affine algebras and Yangians in the first two section, we describe how these algebras arise in different areas of mathematical physics in the three following sections. We end with a description of boundary quantum groups which extend the formalism to the boundary Yang-Baxter (reflection) equation.
The Drinfled realization of quantum affine algebras has been tremendously useful since its discovery. Combining techniques of Beck and Nakajima with our previous approach, we give a complete and conceptual proof of the Drinfeld realization for the twisted quantum affine algebras using Lusztig's twisted braid group action.
We construct a model of the affine nil-Hecke algebra as a subalgebra of the Nichols-Woronowicz algebra associated to a Yetter-Drinfeld module over the affine Weyl group. We also discuss the Peterson isomorphism between the homology of the affine Grassmannian and the small quantum cohomology ring of the flag variety in terms of the braided differential calculus.
There is a well-known presentation for finite and affine Weyl groups called the {\it presentation by conjugation}. Recently, it has been proved that this presentation holds for certain sub-classes of extended affine Weyl groups, the Weyl groups of extended affine root systems. In particular, it is shown that if nullity is $\leq 2$, an $A_1$-type extended affine Weyl group has the presentation by conjugation. We set up a general framework for the study of simply laced extended affine Weyl groups. As a result, we obtain certain necessary and sufficient conditions for an $A_1$-type extended affin…
We give several necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of {\it the presentation by conjugation} for a non-simply laced extended affine Weyl group. We invent a computational tool by which one can determine simply the existence of the presentation by conjugation for an extended affine Weyl group. As an application, we determine the existence of the presentation by conjugation for a large class of extended affine Weyl groups.
We prove that given a super affine closed subgroup $H$ of a super affine group $G$ over a field $k$ of charctersitic $\mathrm{ch} k \ne 2$, the dur $k$-sheaf $G\tilde{\tilde{/}} H$ of right cosets is affine if the affine $k$-group $\bar{H}$ assocoiated to $H$ is (a) reductive or (b) pro-finite. Especially when $G$ is algebraic, the result in Case (a) gives rise to a positive answer to Brundan's question which was recently discussed by Zubkov \cite{Z}.
A new class of representations of affine Weyl groups on rational functions are constructed, in order to formulate discrete dynamical systems associated with affine root systems. As an application, some examples of difference and differential systems of Painleve type are discussed.
In this paper, we offer a presentation for the Weyl group of an affine reflection system $R$ of type $A_1$ as well as a presentation for the so called hyperbolic Weyl group associated with an affine reflection system of type $A_1$. Applying these presentations to extended affine Weyl groups, and using a description of the center of the hyperbolic Weyl group, we also give a new finite presentation for an extended affine Weyl group of type $A_1$. Our presentation for the (hyperbolic) Weyl group of an affine reflection system of type $A_1$ is the first non-trivial presentation given in such a gen…
We obtain Drinfeld second realization of the quantum affine superalgebras associated with the affine Lie superalgebra $D^{(1)}(2,1;x)$. Our results are analogous to those obtained by Beck for the quantum affine algebras. Beck's analysis uses heavily the (extended) affine Weyl groups of the affine Lie algebras. In our approach the structures are based on a Weyl groupoid.
We give some discussions to the relations between canonical left cells and the lowest two-sided cell of an affine Weyl group. In particular, we use the relations to construct irreducible modules attached to the lowest two-sided cell and some one dimensional representations of an affine Hecke algebra.
We generalize the theory of the second invariant cohomology group $H^2_{\rm inv}(G)$ for finite groups $G$, developed in [Da2,Da3,GK], to the case of affine algebraic groups $G$, using the methods of [EG1,EG2,G]. In particular, we show that for connected affine algebraic groups $G$ over an algebraically closed field of characteristic $0$, the map $Θ$ from [GK] is bijective (unlike for some finite groups, as shown in [GK]). This allows us to compute $H^2_{\rm inv}(G)$ in this case, and in particular show that this group is commutative (while for finite groups it can be noncommutative, as shown …
We give complete proofs of the K-theoretic construction of the quantized enveloping algebra of affine gl(n) sketched with V. Ginzburg in Internat. Math. Res. Notices, 3 (1993).
We lift the lattice of translations in the extended affine Weyl group to a braid group action on the quantum affine algebra. This action fixes the Heisenberg subalgebra pointwise. Loop like generators are found for the algebra which satisfy the relations of Drinfel$'$d's new realization. Coproduct formulas are given and a PBW type basis is constructed.

Recently, Lu and Wang formulated a Drinfeld type presentation for $\imath$quantum group $\widetilde{\mathbf U}^\imath$ arising from quantum symmetric pairs of split affine ADE type. In this paper, we generalize their results by establishing a current presentation for $\widetilde{\mathbf U}^\imath$ of arbitrary split affine type.
We show that the affine quantum group $U_q(\hat{sl_2})$ is isomorphic to a bicrossproduct central extension $C Z{}_χ\cross U_q(Lsl_2)$ of the quantum loop group $U_q(Lsl_2)$ by a quantum cocycle $χ$, which we construct. We prove the same result for $U_q(\hat{g})$ in R-matrix form.
We study braid group actions on Yangians associated with symmetrizable Kac-Moody Lie algebras. As an application, we focus on the affine Yangian of type A and use the action to prove that the image of the evaluation map contains the diagonal Heisenberg algebra inside $\hat{\mathfrak{gl}}_N$.
Extended affine Weyl groups are the Weyl groups of extended affine root systems. Finite presentations for extended affine Weyl groups are known only for nullities $\leq 2$, where for nullity 2 there is only one known such presentation. We give a finite presentation for the class of simply laced extended affine Weyl groups. Our presentation is nullity free if rank $>1$ and for rank 1 it is given for nullities $\leq 3$. The generators and relations are given uniformly for all types, and for a given nullity they can be read from the corresponding finite Cartan matrix and the semilattice involved …
We establish a Drinfeld type new presentation for the $\imath$quantum groups arising from quantum symmetric pairs of split affine ADE type, which includes the $q$-Onsager algebra as the rank 1 case. This presentation takes a form which can be viewed as a deformation of half an affine quantum group in the Drinfeld presentation.
We describe a generalization of Drinfeld's description of the center of a quantum group to the case of quantum affine algebras. We use the obtained central elements to construct the affine analogue of Macdonald's difference operators.
Twisted K-theory classes over compact Lie groups can be realized as families of Fredholm operators using the representation theory of loop groups. In this talk I want to show how to deform the Fredholm family, in the sense of quantum groups. The family of Dirac type operators is parametrized by vectors in the adjoint module for a quantum affine algebra and transform covariantly under a (central extension of) the algebra.
The affine and degenerate affine Birman-Murakami-Wenzl (BMW) algebras arise naturally in the context of Schur-Weyl duality for orthogonal and symplectic quantum groups and Lie algebras, respectively. Cyclotomic BMW algebras, affine and cyclotomic Hecke algebras, and their degenerate versions are quotients. In this paper we explain how the affine and degenerate affine BMW algebras are tantalizers (tensor power centralizer algebras) by defining actions of the affine braid group and the degenerate affine braid algebra on tensor space and showing that, in important cases, these actions induce acti…
We study products of the affine geometric crystal of type A corresponding to symmetric powers of the standard representation. The quotient of this product by the R-matrix action is constructed inside the unipotent loop group. This quotient crystal has a semi-infinite limit, where the crystal structure is described in terms of limit ratios previously appearing in the study of total positivity of loop groups.
