We construct certain Steinberg groups associated to extended affine Lie algebras and their root systems. Then by the integration methods of Kac and Peterson for integrable Lie algebras, we associate a group to every tame extended affine Lie algebra. Afterwards, we show that the extended affine Weyl group of the ground Lie algebra can be recovered as a quotient group of two subgroups of the group associated to the underlying algebra similar to Kac-Moody groups.
We introduce the notion of extended affine Lie superalgebras and investigate the properties of their root systems. Extended affine Lie algebras, invariant affine reflection algebras, finite dimensional basic classical simple Lie superalgebras and affine Lie superalgebras are examples of extended affine Lie superalgebras.
We associate elliptic affine Lie algebras with what are called vertex $\C((z))$-algebras and their modules in a certain category. In the course, we construct two families of Lie algebras closely related to elliptic affine Lie algebras.
We introduce a new class of possibly infinite dimensional Lie algebras and study their structural properties. Examples of this new class of Lie algebras are finite dimensional simple Lie algebras containing a nonzero split torus, affine and extended affine Lie algebras. Our results generalize well-known properties of these examples.
We construct certain integral structures for the cores of reduced tame extended affine Lie algebras of rank at least 2. One of the main tools to achieve this is a generalization of Chevalley automorphisms in the context of extended affine Lie algebras. As an application, groups of extended affine Lie type associated to the adjoint representation are defined over arbitrary fields.
In this paper, we study nullity-2 toroidal extended affine Lie algebras in the context of vertex algebras and their $ϕ$-coordinated modules. Among the main results, we introduce a variant of toroidal extended affine Lie algebras, associate vertex algebras to the variant Lie algebras, and establish a canonical connection between modules for toroidal extended affine Lie algebras and $ϕ$-coordinated modules for these vertex algebras. Furthermore, by employing some results of Billig, we obtain an explicit realization of irreducible modules for the variant Lie algebras.

The extended affine Lie algebra $\widetilde{\frak{sl}_2(\mathbb{C}_q)}$ is quantized from three different points of view in this paper, which produces three noncommutative and noncocommutative Hopf algebra structures, and yield other three quantizations by an isomorphism of $\widetilde{\frak{sl}_2(\mathbb{C}_q)}$ correspondingly. Moreover, two of these quantizations can be restricted to the extended affine Lie algebra ${sl_2(\mathbb{C}_q)}$.
We construct Wakimoto modules for twisted affine Lie algebras, and interpret the construction in terms of vertex algebras and their twisted modules. Using the Wakimoto realization, we prove the Kac-Kazhdan conjecture on the characters of irreducible modules with generic critical highest weights in the twisted case. We provide explicit formulas for the twisted fields in the case of the twisted affine algebra A^{(2)}_{2}.
Feigin-Stoyanovsky's type subspaces for affine Lie algebras of type $C_\ell^{(1)}$ have monomial bases with a nice combinatorial description. We describe bases of whole standard modules in terms of semi-infinite monomials obtained as "a limit of translations" of bases for Feigin-Stoyanovsky's type subspaces.
In this paper, we study a family of infinite-dimensional Lie algebras $\widehat{X}_{S}$, where $X$ stands for the type: $A,B,C,D$, and $S$ is an abelian group, which generalize the $A,B,C,D$ series of trigonometric Lie algebras. Among the main results, we identify $\widehat{X}_{S}$ with what are called the covariant algebras of the affine Lie algebra $\widehat{\mathcal{L}_{S}}$ with respect to some automorphism groups, where $\mathcal{L}_{S}$ is an explicitly defined associative algebra viewed as a Lie algebra. Using certain results for the vertex operator algebras associated with affine Lie algebras we obtain recurrence relations for the characters of integrable highest weight irreducible modules for an affine Lie algebra. As an application we show that in the simply-laced level 1 case, these recurrence relations give the known characters, whose principal specializations naturally give rise to some multisum Macdonald identities.
The aim of this work is to construct the quasi-particle basis of principal subspace of standard module of highest weight $kΛ_0$ of level $k\geq 1$ of affine Lie algebra of type $G_2^{(1)}$ by means of which we obtain the basis of principal subspace of generalized Verma module.
We continue a previous study on $Γ$-vertex algebras and their quasimodules. In this paper we refine certain known results and we prove that for any $\Z$-graded vertex algebra $V$ and a positive integer $N$, the category of $V$-modules is naturally isomorphic to the category of quasimodules of a certain type for $V^{\otimes N}$. We also study certain generalizations of twisted affine Lie algebras and we relate such Lie algebras to vertex algebras and their quasimodules, in a way similar to that twisted affine Lie algebras are related to vertex algebras and their twisted modules.
By using the known description of combinatorial bases for Feigin-Stoyanovsky's type subspaces of standard modules for affine Lie algebra $\mathfrak{sl}(l+1,\mathbb{C})^{\widetilde{}}$, as well as certain intertwining operators between standard modules, we obtain exact sequences of Feigin-Stoyanovsky's type subspaces at fixed level $k$. This directly leads to systems of recurrence relations for formal characters of those subspaces.
J. Lepowsky and R. L. Wilson initiated the approach to combinatorial Rogers-Ramanujan type identities via the vertex operator constructions of representations of affine Lie algebras. In a joint work with Arne Meurman this approach is developed further in the framework of vertex operator algebras. Using the tensor category theory developed by Lepowsky, Zhang and the second author, we construct a braided tensor category structure with a twist on a semisimple category of modules for an affine Lie algebra at an admissible level. We conjecture that this braided tensor category is rigid and thus is a ribbon category. We also give conjectures on the modularity of this category and on the equivalence with a suitable quantum group tensor category. In the special case that the affine Lie algebra is $\widehat{\mathfrak{sl}}_2$, we prove the rigidity and modularity conjectures.
We categorify the extended affine Hecke algebra and the affine quantum Schur algebra S(n,r) for 2 < r < n, using Elias-Khovanov and Khovanov-Lauda type diagrams. We also define the affine analogue of the Elias-Khovanov and the Khovanov-Lauda 2-representations of these categorifications into an extension of the 2-category of affine (singular) Soergel bimodules.

We study representations of the double affine Lie algebra associated to a simple Lie algebra. We construct a family of indecomposable integrable representations and identify their irreducible quotients. We also give a condition for the indecomposable modules to be irreducible, this is analogous to a result in the representation theory of quantum affine algebras. Finally, in the last section of the paper, we show, by using the notion of fusion product, that our modules are generically reducible.
Using the bases of principal subspaces for twisted affine Lie algebras except $A_{2l}^{(2)}$ by Butorac and Sadowski, we construct bases of the highest weight modules of highest weight $kΛ_0$ and parafermionic spases for the same affine Lie algebras. We study, in the path realization, crystals for Demazure modules of affine Lie algebras of types $A^{(1)}_n,B^{(1)}_n,C^{(1)}_n,D^{(1)}_n, A^{(2)}_{2n-1},A^{(2)}_{2n}, and D^{(2)}_{n+1}$. We find a special sequence of affine Weyl group elements for the selected perfect crystal, and show if the highest weight is $l\La_0$, the Demazure crystal has a remarkably simple structure.
We give an introduction to the structure theory of extended affine Lie algebras, which provide a common framework for finite-dimensional semisimple, affine and toroidal Lie algebras. The notes are based on a lecture series given during the Fields Institute summer school at the University of Ottawa in June 2009.

In this paper we give a combinatorial parametrization of leading terms of defining relations for level $k$ standard modules for affine Lie algebra of type $C_{n}\sp{(1)}$. Using this parametrization we conjecture colored Rogers-Ramanujan type combinatorial identities for $n\geq 2$ and $k\geq 2$; the identity in the case $n=k=1$ is equivalent to one of Capparelli's identities.

Covering Algebras of extended affine Lie algebras(EALA's) relative to finite order automorphisms are studied. Conditions are given for when the resulting algebra is again an EALA. This paper deals with affinizations of EALA's relative to finite order automorphisms and these algebras are generalizations of the affine Kac-Moody Lie algebras.
We give a realization of quantum affine Lie algebra $U_q(\hat A_{N-1})$ in terms of anyons defined on a two-dimensional lattice, the deformation parameter $q$ being related to the statistical parameter $ν$ of the anyons by $q = e^{iπν}$. In the limit of the deformation parameter going to one we recover the Feingold-Frenkel fermionic construction of undeformed affine Lie algebra.
In this paper we construct combinatorial bases of parafermionic spaces associated with the standard modules of the rectangular highest weights for the untwisted affine Lie algebras. Our construction is a modification of G. Fix an affine Lie algebra $\widehat{\mathfrak{g}}_κ$ with associated principal affine W-algebra $\mathcal{W}_κ$. A basic conjecture of Frenkel--Kac--Wakimoto asserts that Drinfeld--Sokolov reduction sends admissible $\widehat{\mathfrak{g}}_κ$-modules to zero or cohomological shifts of minimal series $\mathcal{W}_κ$-modules. We prove this conjecture and a natural generalization to the spectrally flowed Drinfeld--Sokolov reduction functors. This extends the previous results of Arakawa for the minus reduction.
