Let K<x,y> be the free associative algebra of rank 2 over an algebraically closed constructive field of any characteristic. We present an algorithm which decides whether or not two elements in K<x,y> are equivalent under an automorphism of K<x,y>. A modification of our algorithm solves the problem whether or not an element in K<x,y> is a semiinvariant of a nontrivial automorphism. In particular, it determines whether or not the element has a nontrivial stabilizer in Aut K<x,y>.
An algorithm for equivalence of polynomials under automorphisms of C[x,y] was presented by Wightwick. Another, much simpler algorithm for automorphic equivalence of two polynomials in K[x,y] for any algebraically closed constructive field K was given by Makar-Limanov, Shpilrain, and Yu. In our approach we combine an idea of the latter three authors with an idea from the unpubished thesis of Lane used to describe automorphisms which stabilize elements of K<x,y>. This also allows us to give a simple proof of the corresponding result for K[x,y] obtained by Makar-Limanov, Shpilrain, and Yu.
In this paper we consider the very wide class of varieties of representations of Lie algebras over the field k, which has characteristic 0. We study the relation between the geometric equivalence and automorphic equivalence of the representations of these varieties. We calculate the group, which measures the difference between the geometric equivalence and automorphic equivalence of representations of theses varieties. In Section 5, we present one example of the subvariety of the variety of all the representations of the Lie algebras over the field k, and two representations from these variety…
We prove that if a field k is infinite, char(k)=0 and k has not nontrivial automorphisms then automorphic equivalence of representations of Lie algebras coincide with geometric equivalence. We achieve our result by consideration of 1-sorted objects. We suppose that our method can be perspective in the further researches.
We extend the definition of a semidualizing module to associative rings. This enables us to define and study Auslander and Bass classes with respect to a semidualizing bimodule C. We then study the classes of C-flats, C-projectives, and C-injectives, and use them to provide a characterization of the modules in the Auslander and Bass classes. We extend Foxby equivalence to this new setting. This paper contains a few results which are new in the commutative, noetherian setting.
Let $A_2$ be a free associative or polynomial algebra of rank two over a field $K$ of characteristic zero. Based on the degree estimate of Makar-Limanov and J.-T.Yu, we prove: 1) An element $p \in A_2$ is a test element if $p$ does not belong to any proper retract of $A_2$; 2) Every endomorphism preserving the automorphic orbit of a nonconstant element of $A_2$ is an automorphism.
In this paper we consider some classical varieties of linear algebras over the field which has characteristic 0. For every considered variety we take a category of the finite generated free algebras of this variety. And for every this category we calculate the quotient group of the group of the all automorphisms of this category over the subgroup of the all inner automorphisms. This quotient group measures difference between the geometric equivalence and automorphic equivalence of algebras from this variety. In the all considered varieties of the linear algebras this group is generated by cose…
In the first part of our paper (Sections 1, 2 and 3) we reprove results of B. Plotkin, G. Zhitomirski. On automorphisms of categories of free algebras of some varieties, Journal of Algebra, 306:2, (2006), 344 -- 367 for the case of many-sorted algebras. In the second part of our paper (Section 4) we apply the results of the first part to the universal algebraic geometry of many-sorted algebras and refine and reprove results of B. Plotkin, Algebras with the same (algebraic) geometry, Proceedings of the International Conference on Mathematical Logic, Algebra and Set Theory, dedicated to 100 anni…
We prove that if two associative deformations (parameterized by the same complete local ring) are derived Morita equivalent, then they are Morita equivalent (in the classical sense).
Basic definitions and properties of nearly associative algebras are described. Nearly associative algebras are proved to be Lie-admissible algebras. Two-dimensional nearly associative algebras are classified, and its main classes are derived. The bimodules, matched pairs and Manin triple of a nearly associative algebras are derived and their equivalence with nearly associative bialgebras is proved. Basic definitions and properties of nearly Hom-associative algebras are described. Related bimodules and matched pairs are given, and associated identities are established.
Associative Yang-Baxter equation arises in different areas of algebra, e.g., when studying double quadratic Poisson brackets, non-abelian quadratic Poisson brackets, or associative algebras with cyclic 2-cocycle (anti-Frobenius algebras). Precisely, faithful representations of anti-Frobenius algebras (up to isomorphism) are in one-to-one correspondence with skew-symmetric solutions of associative Yang-Baxter equation (up to equivalence). Following the work of Odesskii, Rubtsov and Sokolov and using computer algebra system Sage, we found some constant skew-symmetric solutions of associative Yan…
An O-operator is a relative version of a Rota-Baxter operator and, in the Lie algebra context, is originated from the operator form of the classical Yang-Baxter equation. We generalize the well-known construction of dendriform dialgebras and trialgebras from Rota-Baxter algebras to a construction from O-operators. We then show that this construction from O-operators gives all dendriform dialgebras and trialgebras. Furthermore there are bijections between certain equivalence classes of invertible O-operators and certain equivalence classes of dendriform dialgebras and trialgebras.
We study gradings by abelian groups on associative algebras with involution over an arbitrary field. Of particular importance are the fine gradings (that is, those that do not admit a proper refinement), because any grading on a finite-dimensional algebra can be obtained from them via a group homomorphism (although not in a unique way). We classify up to equivalence the fine gradings on simple associative algebras with involution over the field of real numbers (or any real closed field) and, as a consequence, on the real forms of classical simple Lie algebras.
In this paper, we give a study of the $\mathbb{C}[\partial]$-split extending structures problem for associative conformal algebras. Using the unified product as a tool, which includes interesting products such as bicrossed product, cocycle semi-direct product and so on, a cohomological type object is constructed to characterize the $\mathbb{C}[\partial]$-split extending structures for associative conformal algebras. Moreover, using this theory, the extending structures of an associative conformal algebra $A$ which is free as a $\mathbb{C}[\partial]$-module by the $\mathbb{C}[\partial]$-module …
In this paper, we prove that the semigroups of invertible matrices with nonnegative elements over linearly oredered associative rings are elementarily equivalent if and only if the matrices have the same dimension and the rings are elementarily equivalent as ordered rings.
We introduce a notion of split extension of (non-associative) bialgebras which generalizes the notion of split extension of magmas introduced by M. Gran, G. Janelidze and M. Sobral. We show that this definition is equivalent to the notion of action of (non-associative) bialgebras. We particularize this equivalence to (non-associative) Hopf algebras by defining split extensions of (non-associative) Hopf algebras and proving that they are equivalent to actions of (non-associative) Hopf algebras. Moreover, we prove the validity of the Split Short Five Lemma for these kinds of split extensions, an…
In this paper we study the existence of gradings on finite dimensional associative algebras. We prove that a connected algebra $A$ does not have a non-trivial grading if and only if $A$ is basic, its quiver has one vertex, and its group of outer automorphisms is unipotent. We apply this result to prove that up to graded Morita equivalence there do not exist non-trivial gradings on the blocks of group algebras with quaternion defect groups and one isomorphism class of simple modules.
In this paper new equivalence relations on the category $Mod(A)$ for any associative algebra $A$ and several related results are given. The new equivalence relations are defined using restrictions to subalgebras and the action of algebra automorphisms on modules.
Let $A$ be an $n$-dimensional algebra over a field $k$ and $a(A)$ its quantum symmetry semigroup. We prove that the automorphisms group ${\rm Aut}_{\rm Alg} (A)$ of $A$ is isomorphic to the group $U \bigl( G(a (A)^{\rm o} ) \bigl)$ of all invertible group-like elements of the finite dual $a (A)^{\rm o}$. For a group $G$, all $G$-gradings on $A$ are explicitly described and classified: the set of isomorphisms classes of all $G$-gradings on $A$ is in bijection with the quotient set $ {\rm Hom}_{\rm BiAlg} \, \bigl( a (A) , \, k[G] \bigl)/\approx$ of all bialgebra maps $a (A) \, \to k[G]$, via th…
Interrelations between discrete deformations of the structure constants for associative algebras and discrete integrable systems are reviewed. A theory of deformations for associative algebras is presented. Closed left ideal generated by the elements representing the multiplication table plays a central role in this theory. Deformations of the structure constants are generated by the Deformation Driving Algebra and governed by the central system of equations. It is demonstrated that many discrete equations like discrete Boussinesq equation, discrete WDVV equation, discrete Schwarzian KP and BK…
We compute the graded automorphisms of the upper triangular matrices, viewed as associative, Lie and Jordan algebras. We compute also the so called self-equivalences and Weyl and diagonal groups for every grading.
We consider homogeneous varieties of linear algebras over an associative-commutative ring K with 1, i.e., the varieties in which free algebras are graded. Let F be a free algebra of some variety A of linear algebras over K freely generated by a finite set X, EndF be the semigroup of endomorphisms of F, and AutEndF be the group of automorphisms of the semigroup EndF. We investigate structure of the group AutEndF and its relation to the algebraical and categorical equivalence of algebras from A. We define a wide class of R1MF-domains containing, in particular, Bezout domains, unique factorizatio…
This note discusses a framework for the investigation of the prime spectrum of an associative algebra A that is equipped with an action of a Hopf algebra H. In particular, we study a notion of H-rationality for ideals of A and comment on a possible Dixmier-Moeglin equivalence for H-prime ideals of A.
This book offers an introduction to vertex algebra based on a new approach. The new approach says that a vertex algebra is an associative algebra such that the underlying Lie algebra is a vertex Lie algebra. In particular, vertex algebras can be formulated in terms of a single multiplication and they behave like associative algebras with respect to it. Chapter 1 is the introduction. In chapter 2 we discuss many examples of vertex Lie algebras and we show that vertex Lie algebras form a full subcategory of the category of "local" Lie algebras. In chapter 3 we introduce associative, commutative,…
In this work we investigate partial actions of a Hopf algebra H on nonunital algebras and the associated partial smash products. We show that our partial actions correspond to nonunital algebras in the category of partial representations of H. The central problem of existence of a globalization for a partial action is studied in detail, and we provide sufficient conditions for the existence (and uniqueness) of a minimal globalization for associative algebras in general. Extending previous results by Abadie, Dokuchaev, Exel and Simon, we define Morita equivalence for partial Hopf actions, and w…
Let $A$ and $B$ be two Morita equivalent finite dimensional associative algebras over a field $\Bbbk$. It is well known that Hochschild cohomology is invariant under Morita equivalence. Since infinitesimal deformations are connected with the second Hochschild cohomology group, we explicitly describe the transfer map connecting $\mathsf{HH}^2(A)$ with $\mathsf{HH}^2(B)$. This allows us to transfer Morita equivalence between $A$ and $B$ to that between infinitesimal deformations of them. As an application, when $\Bbbk$ is algebraically closed, we consider the quotient path algebra associated to …
We classify, up to isomorphism and up to equivalence, involutions on graded-division finite-dimensional simple real (associative) algebras, when the grading group is abelian.
Hochschild two-cocycles play an important role in the deformation à la Gerstenhaber of associative algebras. The aim of this paper is to introduce the category of Hoch-algebras whose objects are associative algebras equipped with an extra magmatic operation \succ verifying the Hochschild two-cocycle relation: (x \succ y)*z+ (x*y)\succ z= x\succ (y*z)+ x*(y\succ z). The free Hoch-algebra over a K-vector space is given in terms of planar rooted trees and the triples of operads (As,Hoch, Mag^\infty) endowed with the infinitesimal relations are shown to be good. We then obtain an equivalence of ca…
We develop the basic constructions of homological algebra in the (appropriately defined) unbounded derived categories of modules over algebras over coalgebras over noncommutative rings (which we call semialgebras over corings). We define double-sided derived functors SemiTor and SemiExt of the functors of semitensor product and semihomomorphisms, and construct an equivalence between the exotic derived categories of semimodules and semicontramodules. Certain (co)flatness and/or (co)projectivity conditions have to be imposed on the coring and semialgebra to make the module categories abelian (an…
Let W be an associative PI algebra over a field F of characteristic zero, graded by a finite group G. Let id_{G}(W) denote the T-ideal of G-graded identities of W. We prove: 1. {[G-graded PI equivalence]} There exists a field extension K of F and a finite dimensional Z/2ZxG-graded algebra A over K such that id_{G}(W)=id_{G}(A^{*}) where A^{*} is the Grassmann envelope of A. 2. {[G-graded Specht problem]} The T-ideal id_{G}(W) is finitely generated as a T-ideal. 3. {[G-graded PI-equivalence for affine algebras]} Let W be a G-graded affine algebra over F. Then there exists a field extension K of…
