We consider a class of Gaussian random holomorphic functions, whose expected zero set is uniformly distributed over $\C^n $. This class is unique (up to multiplication by a non zero holomorphic function), and is closely related to a Gaussian field over a Hilbert space of holomorphic functions on the reduced Heisenberg group. For a fixed random function of this class, we show that the probability that there are no zeros in a ball of large radius, is less than $e^{-c_1 r^{2n+2}}$, and is also greater than $e^{-c_2 r^{2n+2}}$. Enroute to this result we also compute probability estimates for the event that a random function's unintegrated counting function deviates significantly from its mean.
It was realized recently that the chordal, radial and dipolar SLEs are special cases of a general slit holomorphic stochastic flow. We characterize those slit holomorphic stochastic flows which generate level lines of the Gaussian free field. In particular, we describe the modifications of the Gaussian free field (GFF) corresponding to the chordal and dipolar SLE with drifts. Finally, we develop a version of conformal field theory based on the background charge and Dirichlet boundary condition modifications of GFF and present martingale-observables for these types of SLEs.
We prove the asymptotic of the logarithmic Bergman kernel. And as an application, we calculate the conditional expectation of density of zeros of Gaussian random sections of powers of a positive line bundle that vanish along a fixed smooth subvariety.
We consider random holomorphic dynamical systems on the Riemann sphere whose choices of maps are related to Markov chains. Our motivation is to generalize the facts which hold in i.i.d. random holomorphic dynamical systems. In particular, we focus on the function $T$ which represents the probability of tending to infinity. We show some sufficient conditions which make $T$ continuous on the whole space and we characterize the Julia sets in terms of the function $T$ under certain assumptions.
We survey results on the distribution of zeros of random polynomials and of random holomorphic sections of line bundles, especially for large classes of probability measures on the spaces of holomorphic sections. We provide furthermore some new examples of measures supported in totally real subsets of the complex probability space.
In this article we obtain large deviation estimates for zeros of random holomorphic sections on punctured Riemann surfaces. These estimates are then employed to yield estimates for the respective hole probabilities. A particular case of relevance that is covered by our setting is that of cusp forms on arithmetic surfaces. Most of the results we obtain also allow for reasonably general probability distributions on holomorphic sections, which shows the universal character of these estimates. Finally, we also extend our results to the case of certain higher dimensional complete Hermitian manifold…
In this paper we study the behaviour of the holomorphic sectional curvature (or Gaussian curvature) of the Bergman metric of planar annuli. The results are then utilized to construct a domain for which the curvature is divergent at one of its boundary points and moreover the limes superior is the maximal possible for the Bergman metric (2), whereas the limes inferior is $-\infty$.
We consider spaces of holomorphic functions which are square-integrable against a Gaussian weight, which appear in the theory of metaplectic FBI--Bargmann transforms. We identify the operator norm of embeddings between two such spaces, by relating these embeddings to Fourier integral operators with complex phase.
A new proof of the Second Main Theorem with truncation level 1 for Zariski-dense holomorphic curves into Abelian varieties, which has just been proved by Yamanoi [Y2], is presented. Our proof is based on the idea of the "Radon transform" introduced in [K2] combined with consideration on certain singular perturbation of the probability measures on the parameter space which appears in the "Radon transform".
We study the hole probability of Gaussian random entire functions. More specifically, we work with entire functions in Taylor series form with i.i.d complex Gaussian coefficients. A hole is the event where the function has no zeros in a disc of radius r. We find exact asymptotics for the rate of decay of the hole probability for large values of r, outside a small exceptional set (which is deterministic).
In this work we prove an universality result regarding the equidistribution of zeros of random holomorphic sections associated to a sequence of singular Hermitian holomorphic line bundles on a compact Kähler complex space $X$. Namely, under mild moment assumptions, we show that the asymptotic distribution of zeros of random holomorphic sections is independent of the choice of the probability measure on the space of holomorphic sections. In the case when $X$ is a compact Kähler manifold, we also prove an off-diagonal exponential decay estimate for the Bergman kernels of a sequence of positive l…
We study the hole probability of Gaussian entire functions. More specifically, we work with entire functions in Taylor series form with i.i.d complex Gaussian random variables and arbitrary non-random coefficients. A hole is the event where the function has no zeros in a disc of radius r. We find exact asymptotics for the rate of decay of the hole probability for large values of r, outside a small exceptional set. The exceptional set depends only on the non-random coefficients. We assume no regularity conditions on the non-random coefficients.
We study subharmonic functions whose Laplacian is supported on a null set and in connected components of of the complement to the support admit harmonic extensions to larger sets. We prove that if such a function has a piecewise holomorphic derivative, then it is locally piecewise harmonic. In generic cases it coincides locally with the maximum of finitely many harmonic functions. Moreover, we describe the support when the holomorphic derivative satisfies a global algebraic equation. The proofs follow classical patterns and our methods may also be of independent interest.
We study two conditional expectations: the expected density of critical points of Gaussian random holomorphic sections of powers of a positive holomorphic line bundle over Riemann surfaces given that the random sections vanish at a point and the expected density of zeros given that the random sections has a fixed critical point. The main result is that these two rescaling conditional expectations have universal limits as the power of the line bundle tends to infinity. We will see that the short distance behavior between critical points and the conditioning zero is neutral while there is a repu…
We show that for Gaussian random SU(m+1) polynomials of a large degree N the probability that there are no zeros in the disk of radius r is less than $e^{-c_{1,r} N^{m+1}}$, and is also greater than $e^{-c_{2,r} N^{m+1}}$. Enroute to this result, we also derive a more general result: probability estimates for the event where the volume of the zero set of a random polynomial of high degree deviates significantly from its mean.
We study a family of random Taylor series $$F(z) = \sum_{n\ge 0} ζ_n a_n z^n$$ with radius of convergence almost surely $1$ and independent identically distributed complex Gaussian coefficients $(ζ_n)$; these Taylor series are distinguished by the invariance of their zero sets with respect to isometries of the unit disk. We find reasonably tight upper and lower bounds on the probability that $F$ does not vanish in the disk $\{|z|\le r\}$ as $r\uparrow 1$. Our bounds take different forms according to whether the non-random coefficients $(a_n)$ grow, decay or remain of the same order. The result…
We consider the point process of zeroes of certain Gaussian analytic functions and find the asymptotics for the probability that there are more than m points of the process in a fixed disk of radius r, as m-->infinity. For the Planar Gaussian analytic function, sum_n a_n z^n/sqrt(n!), we show that this probability is asymptotic to exp(-0.5 m^2 log(m)). For the Hyperbolic Gaussian analytic functions, sum_n sqrt({-rho choose n}) a_n z^n, rho>0, we show that this probability decays like exp(-cm^2). In the planar case, we also consider the problem posed by Mikhail Sodin on moderate and very large …
We introduce the framework of discrete holomorphic functions on t-embeddings of weighted bipartite planar graphs; t-embeddings also appeared under the name Coulomb gauges in a recent paper arXiv:1810.05616. We argue that this framework is particularly relevant for the analysis of scaling limits of the height fluctuations in the corresponding dimer models. In particular, it unifies both Kenyon's interpretation of dimer observables as derivatives of harmonic functions on T-graphs and the notion of s-holomorphic functions originated in Smirnov's work on the critical Ising model. We develop an a p…
We study the asymptotics of correlations and nearest neighbor spacings between zeros and holomorphic critical points of $p_N$, a degree N Hermitian Gaussian random polynomial in the sense of Shiffman and Zeldtich, as N goes to infinity. By holomorphic critical point we mean a solution to the equation $\frac{d}{dz}p_N(z)=0.$ Our principal result is an explicit asymptotic formula for the local scaling limit of $\E{Z_{p_N}\wedge C_{p_N}},$ the expected joint intensity of zeros and critical points, around any point on the Riemann sphere. Here $Z_{p_N}$ and $C_{p_N}$ are the currents of integration…
Supersymmetric vacua (`universes') of string/M theory may be identified with certain critical points of a holomorphic section (the `superpotential') of a Hermitian holomorphic line bundle over a complex manifold. An important physical problem is to determine how many vacua there are and how they are distributed. The present paper initiates the study of the statistics of critical points $\nabla s = 0$ of Gaussian random holomorphic sections with respect to a connection $\nabla$. Even the expected number of critical points depends on the curvature of $\nabla$. The principal results give formulas…
We show that for Gaussian random SU(2)polynomials of a large degree $N$ the probability that there are no zeros in the disk of radius $r$ is less than $e^{-c_{1,r} N^2}$, and is also greater than $e^{-c_{2,r} N^2}$. Enroute to this result, we also derive a more general result: probability estimates for the event that the number of complex zeros of a random polynomial of high degree deviates significantly from its mean.
The spaces $H^0(M, L^N)$ of holomorphic sections of the powers of an ample line bundle $L$ over a compact Kähler manifold $(M,ω)$ have been generalized by Boutet de Monvel and Guillemin to spaces $H^0_J(M, L^N)$ of `almost holomorphic sections' of ample line bundles over an almost complex symplectic manifold $(M, J, ω)$. We consider the unit spheres $SH^0_J(M, L^N)$ in the spaces $H^0_J(M, L^N)$, which we equip with natural inner products. Our purpose is to show that, in a probabilistic sense, almost holomorphic sections behave like holomorphic sections as $N \to \infty$. Our first main result…
The study of the dynamics of an holomorphic map near a fixed point is a central topic in complex dynamical systems. In this paper we will consider the corresponding random setting: given a probability measure $ν$ with compact support on the space of germs of holomorphic maps fixing the origin, we study the compositions $f_n\circ\cdots\circ f_1$, where each $f_i$ is chosen independently with probability $ν$. As in the deterministic case, the stability of the family of the random iterates is mostly determined by the linear part of the germs in the support of the measure. A particularly interesti…
We investigate the random dynamics of rational maps on the Riemann sphere and the dynamics of semigroups of rational maps on the Riemann sphere. We show that regarding random complex dynamics of polynomials, in most cases, the chaos of the averaged system disappears, due to the cooperation of the generators. We investigate the iteration and spectral properties of transition operators. We show that under certain conditions, in the limit stage, "singular functions on the complex plane" appear. In particular, we consider the functions $T$ which represent the probability of tending to infinity wit…
