The paper studies quadratic and Koszul duality for modules over positively graded categories. Typical examples are modules over a path algebra, which is graded by the path length, of a not necessarily finite quiver with relations. We present a very general definition of quadratic and Koszul duality functors backed up by explicit examples. This generalises previous results in two substantial ways: We work in the setup of graded categories, i.e. we allow infinitely many idempotents and also define a ``Koszul'' duality functor for not necessarily Koszul categories. As an illustration of the techniques we reprove the Koszul duality of translation and Zuckerman functors for the classical category O in a quite elementary and explicit way. As applications we propose a definition of a "Koszul" dual category for integral blocks of Harish-Chandra bimodules and for blocks outside the critical hyperplanes for the Kac-Moody category O.
We review Koszul duality in representation theory of category $ \cal O $, especially we give a new presentation of the Koszul duality functor. Combining this with work of Backelin, we show that the translation and Zuckerman functors are Koszul dual to each other, thus verifying a conjecture of Bernstein, Frenkel and Khovanov. Finally we use Koszul duality to give a short proof of the Enright-Shelton equivalence.
Let p be a prime number. We compute the Yoneda extension algebra of $GL_2$ over an algebraically closed field of characteristic p by developing a theory of Koszul duality for a certain class of 2-functors, one of which controls the category of rational representations of $GL_2$ over such a field.
The parabolic category $\mathcal{O}$ for affine ${\mathfrak{gl}}_N$ at level $-N-e$ admits a structure of a categorical representation of $\widetilde{\mathfrak{sl}}_e$ with respect to some endofunctors $E$ and $F$. This category contains a smaller category $\mathbf{A}$ that categorifies the higher level Fock space. We prove that the functors $E$ and $F$ in the category $\mathbf{A}$ are Koszul dual to Zuckerman functors. The key point of the proof is to show that the functor $F$ for the category $\mathbf{A}$ at level $-N-e$ can be decomposed in terms of the components of the functor $F$ for the…
This is a report on recent work of Chalupnik and Touze. We explain the Koszul duality for the category of strict polynomial functors and make explicit the underlying monoidal structure which seems to be of independent interest. Then we connect this to Ringel duality for Schur algebras and describe Serre duality for strict polynomial functors.
We are concerned with relating derived categories of all modules of two dual Koszul algebras defined by a locally bounded quiver. We first generalize the well known Acyclic Assembly Lemma and formalize an old method of extending a functor from an additive category into a complex category to its complex category. Applying this to the Koszul functor associated with a Koszul algebra defined by a gradable quiver, we obtain a Koszul complex functor, that descends to an equivalence of a continuous family of pairs of triangulated subcategories of doubly unbounded complexes of the respective derived c…
We generalize the modular Koszul duality of Achar-Riche to the setting of Soergel bimodules associated to any finite Coxeter system. The key new tools are a functorial monodromy action and wall-crossing functors in the mixed modular derived category. In characteristic 0, this duality together with Soergel's conjecture (proved by Elias-Williamson) imply that our Soergel-theoretic graded category $\mathcal{O}$ is Koszul self-dual, generalizing the result of Beilinson-Ginzburg-Soergel.
A fundamental result of Beilinson-Ginzburg-Soergel states that on flag varieties and related spaces, a certain modified version of the category of l-adic perverse sheaves exhibits a phenomenon known as Koszul duality. The modification essentially consists of discarding objects whose stalks carry a nonsemisimple action of Frobenius. In this paper, we prove that a number of common sheaf functors (various pull-backs and push-forwards) induce corresponding functors on the modified category or its triangulated analogue. In particular, we show that these functors preserve semisimplicity of the Frobe…
We extend the Koszul calculus defined on quadratic algebras by Berger, Lambre and Solotar, to N-homogeneous algebras. When N>2, the Koszul cup and cap products are defined by specific expressions, and they are compatible with the Koszul differentials, providing associative products on (co)homology classes. The N-Koszul calculus is calculated for the truncated polynomial algebras.
We construct an ungraded version of Beilinson-Ginzburg-Soergel's Koszul duality for Langlands dual flag varieties, inspired by Beilinson's construction of rational motivic cohomology in terms of $K$-theory. For this, we introduce and study categories $\operatorname{DK}_{\mathcal{S}}(X)$ of $\mathcal{S}$-constructible $K$-motivic sheaves on varieties $X$ with an affine stratification $\mathcal{S}$. We show that there is a natural and geometric functor, called Beilinson realisation, from $\mathcal{S}$-constructible mixed sheaves $\operatorname{D}^{mix}_{\mathcal{S}}(X)$ to $\operatorname{DK}_{\m…

For any Koszul Artin-Schelter regular algebra A, we consider a version of the universal Hopf algebra aut(A) coacting on A, introduced by Manin. To study the representations (i.e. finite dimensional comodules) of this Hopf algebra, we use the Tannaka-Krein formalism. Specifically, we construct an explicit combinatorial rigid monoidal category U, equipped with a functor M to finite dimensional vector spaces such that aut(A)= coend_U(M). Using this pair (U,M) we show that aut(A) is quasi-hereditary as a coalgebra and in addition is derived equivalent to the representation category of U.
Braverman and Gaitsgory gave necessary and sufficient conditions for a nonhomogeneous quadratic algebra to satisfy the Poincare-Birkhoff-Witt property when its homogeneous version is Koszul. We widen their viewpoint and consider a quotient of an algebra that is free over some (not necessarily semisimple) subalgebra. We show that their theorem holds under a weaker hypothesis: We require the homogeneous version of the nonhomogeneous quadratic algebra to be the skew group algebra (semidirect product algebra) of a finite group acting on a Koszul algebra, obtaining conditions for the Poincare-Birkh…
We introduce the alternating Schur algebra $AS_F(n,d)$ as the commutant of the action of the alternating group $A_d$ on the $d$-fold tensor power of an $n$-dimensional $F$-vector space. When $F$ has characteristic different from $2$, we give a basis of $AS_F(n,d)$ in terms of bipartite graphs, and a graphical interpretation of the structure constants. We introduce the abstract Koszul duality functor on modules for the even part of any $\mathbf Z/2\mathbf Z$-graded algebra. The algebra $AS_F(n,d)$ is $\mathbf Z/2\mathbf Z$-graded, having the classical Schur algebra $S_F(n,d)$ as its even part. …
We study the truncation functors and show the existence of projective cover of each irreducible module in parabolic BGG category $\mathcal O$ over infinite rank Lie algebra of types $\mathfrak{a,b,c,d}$. Moreover, $\mathcal O$ is a Koszul category. As a consequence, the corresponding parabolic BGG category $\overline{\mathcal O}$ over infinite rank Lie superalgebra of types $\mathfrak{a,b,c,d}$ through the super duality is also a Koszul category.
In this paper, we give a method for relating the generalized category $\mathcal{O}$ defined by the author and collaborators to explicit finitely presented algebras, and apply this to quiver varieties. This allows us to describe combinatorially not just the structure of these category $\mathcal{O}$'s but also how certain interesting families of derived equivalences, the shuffling and twisting functors, act on them. In the case of Nakajima quiver varieties, the algebras that appear are weighted KLR algebras and their steadied quotients, defined by the author in earlier work. In particular, these…
We study the representation theory of the invariant subalgebra of the Weyl algebra under a torus action, which we call a "hypertoric enveloping algebra." We define an analogue of BGG category O for this algebra, and identify it with a certain category of sheaves on a hypertoric variety. We prove that a regular block of this category is highest weight and Koszul, identify its Koszul dual, compute its center, and study its cell structure. We also consider a collection of derived auto-equivalences analogous to the shuffling and twisting functors for BGG category O.
