Let k be an algebraically closed field of characteristic 0, and let $A = k[x,y]/(f)$ be a quasi-homogeneous plane curve. We show that for any graded torsion free A-module M, there exists a natural graded integrable connection, i.e. a graded A-linear homomorphism $\nabla: \operatorname{Der}_k(A) \to \operatorname{End}_k(M)$ that satisfy the derivation property and preserves the Lie product.
In particular, a torsion free module N over the complete local ring $B = \hat A$ admits a natural integrable connection if A is a simple curve singularity, or if A is irreducible and N is a gradable module.
In the paper we prove Harbourne-Hirschowitz conjecture for quasi-homogeneous linear systems on $\mathbb P^2$ for $m=7$, 8, 9, 10, i.e. systems of curves of given degree passing through points in general position with multiplicities at least $m,...,m,m_0$, where $m=7$, 8, 9, 10, $m_0$ is arbitrary.
Given r>=n quasi-homogeneous polynomials in n variables, the existence of a certain duality is shown and explicited in terms of generalized Morley forms. This result, that can be seen as a generalization of [3,corollary 3.6.1.4] (where this duality is proved in the case r=n), was observed by the author at the same time. We will actually closely follow the proof of (loc. cit.) in this paper.
We show the possible Milnor numbers of deformations of semi-quasi-homogeneous isolated plane curve singularities. In Theorem 1.1 we list integers can be attained as Milnor numbers of a given semi-quasi-homogeneous singularity.
Inspired by the work of Bhatt and Singh (see: arXiv:1307.1171) we compute the $F$-pure threshold of quasi-homogeneous polynomials. We first consider the case of a curve given by a quasi-homogeneous polynomial $f$ in three variables $x,y,z$ of degree equal to the degree of $xyz$ and then we proceed with the general case of a Calabi-Yau hypersurface, i.e. a hypersurface given by a quasi-homogeneous polynomial $f$ in $n+1$ variables $x_0, \ldots, x_n$ of degree equal to the degree of $x_0 \cdots x_n$.
We find explicit free resolutions for the $\scr D$-modules ${\scr D} f^s$ and ${\scr D}[s] f^s/{\scr D}[s] f^{s+1}$, where $f$ is a reduced equation of a locally quasi-homogeneous free divisor. These results are based on the fact that every locally quasi-homogeneous free divisor is Koszul free, which is also proved in this paper
Starting from a cubic form, we give a general construction of a quasi-complete homogeneous manifold endowed with a natural contact structure. We show that it can be compactified into a projective contact manifold if and only if the cubic form is the determinant of a simple cubic Jordan algebra.
In this paper we prove the Harbourne-Hirschowitz conjecture for quasi-homogeneous linear systems of multiplicity 6 on P^2. For the proof we use the degeneration of the plane by Ciliberto and Miranda and results by Laface, Seibert, Ugaglia and Yang. As an application we derive a classification of the special systems of multiplicity 6.
The aim of this paper is to show the possible Milnor numbers of deformations of semi-quasi-homogeneous isolated plane curve singularities. Main result states that if $f$ is irreducible and nondegenerate, by deforming $f$ one can attain all Milnor numbers ranging from $μ(f)$ to $μ(f)-r(p-r)$, where $r$ and $p$ are easily computed from the Newton diagram of $f$.
In this paper we consider linear systems of $\mathbb{P}^2$ with all but one of the base points of multiplicity 5. We give an explicit way to evaluate the dimensions of such systems.
We describe all connected components of the space of hyperbolic Gorenstein quasi-homogeneous surface singularities. We prove that any connected component is homeomorphic to a quotient of R^d by a discrete group.
We develop a new connection between Differential Algebra and Geometric Invariant Theory, based on an anti-equivalence of categories between solution algebras associated to a linear differential equation (i.e. differential algebras generated by finitely many polynomials in a fundamental set of solutions), and affine quasi-homogeneous varieties (over the constant field) for the differential Galois group of the equation. Solution algebras can be associated to any connection over a smooth affine variety. It turns out that he spectrum of a solution algebra is an algebraic fiber space over the base …
Given an isolated, quasi-homogeneous singularity $X$ we prove that there is a group isomorphism between the group of rank one reflexive sheaves on $X$ and the free abelian group generated by $\mathbb{C}^*$-divisors, modulo linear equivalence. When $\dim(X)=2$ we reduce the problem of finding matrix factorizations of arbitrary reflexive $\mathcal{O}_X$-modules to the same question on rank one reflexive sheaves. We then enumerate the matrix factorizations of all rank one reflexive sheaves. As a consequence, we prove a conjecture of Etingof and Ginzburg on point modules.
We consider a quasi-homogeneous polynomial $f \in \mathbb{Z}[x_0, \ldots, x_N]$ of degree $w$ equal to the degree of $x_0 \cdots x_N$ and show that the $F$-pure threshold of the reduction $f_p \in \mathbb{F}_p[x_0, \ldots, x_N]$ is equal to the log canonical threshold if and only if the height of the Artin-Mazur formal group associated to $H^{N-1}\left( X, {\mathbb{G}}_{m,X} \right)$, where $X$ is the hypersurface given by $f$, is equal to 1. We also prove that a similar result holds for Fermat hypersurfaces of degree $>N+1$. Furthermore, we give examples of weighted Delsarte surfaces which sh…
A linear system of plane curves satisfying multiplicity conditions at points in general position is called special if the dimension is larger than the expected dimension. A (-1) curve is an irreducible curve with self intersection -1 and genus zero. The Harbourne-Hirschowitz Conjecture is that a linear system is special only if a multiple of some fixed (-1) curve is contained in every curve of the linear system. This conjecture is proven for linear systems with multiplicity four at all but one of the points.
We consider a corank $1$, finitely determined, quasi-homogeneous map germ $f$ from $(\mathbb{C}^2,0)$ to $(\mathbb{C}^3,0)$. We describe the embedded topological type of a generic hyperplane section of $f(\mathbb{C}^2)$, denoted by $γ_f$, in terms of the weights and degrees of $f$. As a consequence, a necessary condition for a corank $1$ finitely determined map germ $g:(\mathbb{C}^2,0)\rightarrow (\mathbb{C}^3,0)$ to be quasi-homogeneous is that the plane curve $γ_g$ has either two or three characteristic exponents. As an application of our main result, we also show that any one-parameter unfo…
We establish normal form theorems for a large class of singular flat connections on complex manifolds, including connections with logarithmic poles along weighted homogeneous Saito free divisors. As a result, we show that the moduli spaces of such connections admit the structure of algebraic quotient stacks. In order to prove these results, we introduce homogeneous Lie groupoids and study their representation theory. In this direction, we prove two main results: a Jordan-Chevalley decomposition theorem, and a linearization theorem. We give explicit normal forms for several examples of free div…
Given a holomorphic principal bundle $Q\, \longrightarrow\, X$, the universal space of holomorphic connections is a torsor $C_1(Q)$ for $\text{ad} Q \otimes T^*X$ such that the pullback of $Q$ to $C_1(Q)$ has a tautological holomorphic connection. When $X\,=\, G/P$, where $P$ is a parabolic subgroup of a complex simple group $G$, and $Q$ is the frame bundle of an ample line bundle, we show that $C_1(Q)$ may be identified with $G/L$, where $L\, \subset\, P$ is a Levi factor. We use this identification to construct the twistor space associated to a natural hyper-Kähler metric on $T^*(G/P)$, reco…
In this work, we consider a quasi-homogeneous, corank $1$, finitely determined map germ $f$ from $(\mathbb{C}^2,0)$ to $(\mathbb{C}^3,0)$. We consider the invariants $m(f(D(f))$ and $J$, where $m(f(D(f))$ denotes the multiplicity of the image of the double point curve $D(f)$ of $f$ and $J$ denotes the number of tacnodes that appears in a stabilization of the transversal slice curve of $f(\mathbb{C}^2)$. We present formulas to calculate $m(f(D(f))$ and $J$ in terms of the weights and degrees of $f$.
We give a proof in modern language of the following result by Paul Gordan and Max Nöther: a homogeneous quasi-translation in dimension $5$ without linear invariants would be linearly conjugate to another such quasi-translation $x + H$, for which $H_5$ is algebraically independent over $\mathbb C$ of $H_1, H_2, H_3, H_4$. Just like Gordan and Nöther, we apply this result to classify all homogeneous polynomials $h$ in $5$ indeterminates from which the Hessian determinant is zero. Others claim to have reproved 'the result of Gordan and Nöther in $\mathbb P^4$' as well, but some of them assume tha…
We study the local symplectic algebra of parameterized curves introduced by V. I. Arnold. We use the method of algebraic restrictions to classify symplectic singularities of quasi-homogeneous curves. We prove that the space of algebraic restrictions of closed 2-forms to the germ of an analytic curve is a finite dimensional vector space. We also show that the action of local diffeomorphisms preserving the curve on this vector space is determined by the infinitesimal action of liftable vector fields. We apply these results to obtain the complete symplectic classification of curves with the semig…
In this paper we give a formula for the classes (in the Grothendieck ring of complex quasi-projective varieties) of irreducible components of $(1,k)$-quasi-homogeneous Hilbert schemes of points on the plane. We find a new simple geometric interpretation of the $q,t$-Catalan numbers. Finally, we investigate a connection between $(1,k)$-quasi-homogeneous Hilbert schemes and homogeneous nested Hilbert schemes.
In 1876 in [8], the authors Paul Gordan and Max Nöther classify all homogeneous polynomials h in at most five variables for which the Hessian determinant vanishes. For that purpose, they study quasi-translations which are associated with singular Hessians. We will explain what quasi-translations are and formulate some elementary properties of them. Additionally, we classify all quasi-translations with Jacobian rank one and all so-called irreducible homogeneous quasi-translations with Jacobian rank two. The latter is an important result of [8]. Using these results, we classify all quasi-transla…
In this article, we prove that for any indecomposable dominant character of a maximal torus $T$ of a simple adjoint group $G$ such that there is a Coxeter element $w \in W$ for which $X(w)^{ss}_T(\mathcal L_χ) \neq \emptyset$. If further, for any dominant character $χ_1$ of $T$ such that $χ_1\lneqq χ$ with respect to the dominant ordering, $dim(H^0(G/B, \mathcal L_{χ_1})^T) < dim (H^0(G/B, \mathcal L_χ)^T)$, then the graded algebra $\oplus_{d \in \mathbb Z_{\geq 0}}H^0(G/B, \mathcal L_χ^{\otimes d})^T$ is a polynomial ring in $r$ variables where $r\geq 2$.
Let g be a complex, semisimple Lie algebra. We prove the existence of a quasi-Coxeter, quasitriangular quasibialgebra structure on the enveloping algebra of g, which binds the quasi-Coxeter structure underlying the Casimir connection of g and the quasitriangular quasibialgebra one underlying its KZ equations. This implies in particular that the monodromy of the rational Casimir connection of g is described by the quantum Weyl group operators of the quantum group U_h(g).
We formulate certain sufficient conditions for the symplectic monodromy of an isolated quasihomogeneous singularity to be of infinite order in the relative symplectic mapping class group of the Milnor fibre and give a proof using Maslov classes, stability theory for Lagrangian folds resp. stable Morse theory for generating families as well as algebraic results about relative cohomology of smoothings of isolated singularities. Our conditions being slightly more restrictive than Seidel's, in contrary to Seidel's proof, we do not use Floer theory to derive this result. An alternative approach usi…
Let $G$ be a connected, simply connected, simple, complex, linear algebraic group. Let $P$ be an arbitrary parabolic subgroup of $G$. Let $X=G/P$ be the $G$-homogeneous projective space attached to this situation. Let $d\in H_2(X)$ be a degree. Let $\overline{M}_{0,3}(X,d)$ be the (coarse) moduli space of three pointed genus zero stable maps to $X$ of degree $d$. Building on and improving our previous results [Christoph Bärligea, Quasi-Homogeneity of the Moduli Space of Stable Maps to Homogeneous Spaces, Doc. Math. 23, 697-745 (2018), DOI: 10.25537/dm.2018v23.697-745], we prove that $\overline…
