We present new families of weighted homogeneous and Newton non-degenerate line singularities that satisfy the Zariski multiplicity conjecture.

We prove: if $d/m < 2280/721$, there is no curve of degree $d$ passing through $n = 10$ general points with multiplicity $m$ in $\bf{P}^2$. Similar results are given for other special values of $n$. Our bounds can be naturally written as certain palindromic continued fractions.

We consider the invariants $m(f(D(f))$ and $J$, where $m(f(D(f))$ denotes the multiplicity of the image of the double point curve $D(f)$ of $f$ and $J$ denotes the number of tacnodes that appears in a stabilization of the transversal slice curve of $f(\mathbb{C}^2)$. We consider the problem of estimating the intersection multiplicity between an algebraic variety and a Pfaffian foliation, at every point of the variety. We show that this multiplicity can be majorized at every point $p$ by the local algebraic multiplicity at $p$ of a suitably constructed algebraic cycle. We study special linear systems of surfaces of $\mathbb{P}^3$ interpolating nine points in general position having a quadric as fixed component. By performing degenerations in the blown-up space, we interpret the quadric obstruction in terms of linear obstructions for a quasi-homogeneous class. By degeneration we also prove a Nagata type result for $\mathbb{P}^2$ that implies a base locus lemma for the quadric. There has been much interest in characterizing multiple structures in $¶^n_K$ defined on a linear subspace of small codimension under additional assumptions (e.g. Cohen-Macaulay). We show that Serre's Intersection Multiplicity Conjecture holds for a formal power series ring A over a complete, two-dimensional regular local ring R. From this, we deduce the corresponding result for the local rings of any scheme X which is a smooth extension of a regular, two-dimensional base Y.
