In this paper we use a bicharacter construction to define an $H_D$-quantum vertex algebra structure corresponding to the quantum vertex operators describing certain classes of symmetric polynomials.
A vertex operator approach for form factors of Belavin's $(\mathbb{Z}/n\mathbb{Z})$-symmetric model is constructed on the basis of bosonization of vertex operators in the $A^{(1)}_{n-1}$ model and vertex-face transformation. As simple application for $n=2$, we obtain expressions for $2m$-point form factors related to the $σ^z$ and $σ^x$ operators in the eight-vertex model.
We analyze wavefunctions of the six-vertex model by extending the Izergin-Korepin analysis on the domain wall boundary partition functions. We particularly focus on the case with triangular boundary. By using the $U_q(sl_2)$ $R$-matrix and a special class of the triangular $K$-matrix, we first introduce an analogue of the wavefunctions of the integrable six-vertex model with triangular boundary. We first give a characterization of the wavefunctions by extending our recent work of the Izergin-Korepin analysis of the domain wall boundary partition function with triangular boundary, and then dete…
We introduce and study several combinatorial properties of a class of symmetric polynomials from the point of view of integrable vertex models in finite lattice. We introduce the $L$-operator related with the $U_q(sl_2)$ $R$-matrix, and construct the wavefunctions and their duals. We prove the exact correspondence between the wavefunctions and symmetric polynomials which is a quantum group deformation of the Grothendieck polynomials. This is proved by combining the matrix product method and an analysis on the domain wall boundary partition functions. As applications of the correspondence betwe…
Belavin's $(\mathbb{Z}/n\mathbb{Z})$-symmetric model is considered on the basis of bosonization of vertex operators in the $A^{(1)}_{n-1}$ model and vertex-face transformation. Free field representations of nonlocal tail operators are constructed for off diagonal matrix elements with respect to the ground state sectors. As a result, integral formulae for form factors of any local operators in the $(\mathbb{Z}/n\mathbb{Z})$-symmetric model can be obtained, in principle.
We examine the wavefunctions and their scalar products of a one-parameter family of integrable five vertex models. At a special point of the parameter, the model investigated is related to an irreversible interacting stochastic particle system the so-called totally asymmetric simple exclusion process (TASEP). By combining the quantum inverse scattering method with a matrix product representation of the wavefunctions, the on/off-shell wavefunctions of the five vertex models are represented as a certain determinant form. Up to some normalization factors, we find the wavefunctions are given by Gr…
A commutative associative algebra $A$ over ${\mathbb C}$ with a derivation is one of the simplest examples of a vertex algebra. However, the differences between the modules for $A$ as a vertex algebra and the modules for $A$ as an associative algebra are not well understood. In this paper, I give the classification of finite-dimensional indecomposable untwisted or twisted modules for the polynomial ring in one variable over ${\mathbb C}$ as a vertex algebra.
We consider a fully inhomogeneous stochastic higher spin six vertex model in a quadrant. For this model we derive concise integral representations for multi-point q-moments of the height function and for the q-correlation functions. At least in the case of the step initial condition, our formulas degenerate in appropriate limits to many known formulas of such type for integrable probabilistic systems in the (1+1)d KPZ universality class, including the stochastic six vertex model, ASEP, various q-TASEPs, and associated zero range processes. Our arguments are largely based on properties of a fam…
In this paper, we study contragredient duals and invariant bilinear forms for modular vertex algebras (in characteristic $p$). We first introduce a bialgebra $\mathcal{H}$ and we then introduce a notion of $\mathcal{H}$-module vertex algebra and a notion of $(V,\mathcal{H})$-module for an $\mathcal{H}$-module vertex algebra $V$. Then we give a modular version of Frenkel-Huang-Lepowsky's theory and study invariant bilinear forms on an $\mathcal{H}$-module vertex algebra. As the main results, we obtain an explicit description of the space of invariant bilinear forms on a general $\mathcal{H}$-mo…
Using general principles in the theory of vertex operator algebras and their twisted modules, we obtain a bosonic, twisted construction of a certain central extension of a Lie algebra of differential operators on the circle, for an arbitrary twisting automorphism. The construction involves the Bernoulli polynomials in a fundamental way. We develop new identities and principles in the theory of vertex operator algebras and their twisted modules, and explain the construction by applying general results, including an identity that we call "modified weak associativity", to the Heisenberg vertex op…
A family of vertex operators that generalizes those given by Jing for the Hall-Littlewood symmetric functions is presented. These operators produce symmetric functions related to the Poincare polynomials referred to as generalized Kostka polynomials in the same way that Jing's operator produces symmetric functions related to Kostka-Foulkes polynomials. These operators are then used to derive commutation relations and new relations involving the generalized Kostka coefficients. Such relations may be interpreted as identities in the (GL(n) x C^*)-equivariant K-theory of the nullcone.
Belavin's $(\mathbb{Z}/n\mathbb{Z})$-symmetric model is considered on the basis of bosonization of vertex operators in the $A^{(1)}_{n-1}$ model and vertex-face transformation. The corner transfer matrix (CTM) Hamiltonian of $(\mathbb{Z}/n\mathbb{Z})$-symmetric model and tail operators are expressed in terms of bosonized vertex operators in the $A^{(1)}_{n-1}$ model. Correlation functions of $(\mathbb{Z}/n\mathbb{Z})$-symmetric model can be obtained by using these objects, in principle. In particular, we calculate spontaneous polarization, which reproduces the result by myselves in 1993.
The n-point correlation functions introduced by Bloch and Okounkov have already found several geometric connections and algebraic generalizations. In this Note we formulate a q,t-deformation of this n-point function. The key operator used in our formulation arises from the theory of Macdonald polynomials and affords a vertex operator interpretation. We obtain closed formulas for the n-point functions when n =1,2 in terms of the basic hypergeometric functions. We further generalize the q,t-deformed n-point function to more general vertex operators.
We consider a homogeneous stochastic higher spin six vertex model in a quadrant. Our arguments are largely based on properties of a family of s…
Let $r \in \BC$ be a complex number, and $d \in \BZ_{\ge 2}$ a positive integer greater than or equal to 2. Ashihara and Miyamoto introduced a vertex operator algebra $\Vam$ of central charge $dr$, whose Griess algebra is isomorphic to the simple Jordan algebra of symmetric matrices of size $d$. In this paper, we prove that the vertex operator algebra $\Vam$ is simple if and only if $r$ is not an integer. Further, in the case that $r$ is an integer (i.e., $\Vam$ is not simple), we give a generator system of the maximal proper ideal $I_{r}$ of the VOA $\Vam$ explicitly.
Let $ϕ_{\sqrt{2m}}(z)=\sum_{n\in\Z} a_n z^{-n-m}, m\in\N$ be bosonic vertex operator, $L$ some irreducible representation of the vertex algebra $\A_{(m)}$, associated with one-dimensional lattice $\Zl$, generated by vector $l$, $\bra l,l \ket=2m$. Fix some extremal vector $v\in L$. We study the principle subspace $\C[a_i]_{i\in\Z}\cdot v$ and its finitization $\C[a_i]_{i>N}\cdot v$. We construct their bases and find characters. In the case of finitization basis is given in terms of Jack polynomials.
An iterative formula for the Green polynomial is given using the vertex operator realization of the Hall-Littlewood function. Based on this, (1) a general combinatorial formula of the Green polynomial is given; (2) several compact formulas are given for Green's polynomials associated with upper partitions of length $\leq 3$ and the diagonal lengths $\leq 3$; (3) a Murnaghan-Nakayama type formula for the Green polynomial is obtained; and (4) an iterative formula is derived for the bitrace of the finite general linear group $G$ and the Iwahori-Hecke algebra of type $A$ on the permutation module …
Using general principles of the theory of vertex operator algebras and their twisted modules, we obtain a bosonic, twisted construction of a certain central extension of a Lie algebra of differential operators on the circle, for an arbitrary twisting automorphism. The construction involves the Bernoulli polynomials in a fundamental way. This is explained through results in the general theory of vertex operator algebras, including a new identity, which we call ``modified weak associativity.'' This paper is an announcement. The detailed proofs will appear elsewhere.
This paper is to study vertex operator superalgebras which are strongly generated by their weight-$2$ and weight-$\frac{3}{2}$ homogeneous subspaces. Among the main results, it is proved that if such a vertex operator superalgebra $V$ is simple, then $V_{(2)}$ has a canonical commutative associative algebra structure equipped with a non-degenerate symmetric associative bilinear form and $V_{(\frac{3}{2})}$ is naturally a $V_{(2)}$-module equipped with a $V_{(2)}$-valued symmetric bilinear form and a non-degenerate ($\mathbb{C}$-valued) symmetric bilinear form, satisfying a set of conditions. O…
On the vertex operator algebra associated with rank one lattice we derive a general formula for products of vertex operators in terms of generalized homogeneous symmetric functions. As an application we realize Jack symmetric functions of rectangular shapes as well as marked rectangular shapes.
The symmetric Macdonald polynomials are able to be constructed out of the non-symmetric Macdonald polynomials. This allows us to develop the theory of the symmetric Macdonald polynomials by first developing the theory of their non-symmetric counterparts. In taking this approach we are able to obtain new results as well as simpler and more accessible derivations of a number of the known fundamental properties of both kinds of polynomials.
The theory of non-symmetric Jack polynomials is developed independently of the theory of symmetric Jack polynomials, and this theory together with the relationship between the non-symmetric, symmetric and anti-symmetric Jack polynomials is used to deduce the corresponding results for the symmetric Jack polynomials.
We provide elementary identities relating the three known types of non-symmetric interpolation Macdonald polynomials. In addition we derive a duality for non-symmetric interpolation Macdonald polynomials. We consider some applications of these results, in particular for binomial formulas involving non-symmetric interpolation Macdonald polynomials.
We study quantum automorphism groups of vertex-transitive graphs having less than 11 vertices. With one possible exception, these can be obtained from cyclic groups ${\mathbb Z}_n$, symmetric groups $S_n$ and quantum symmetric groups $\mathcal Q_n$, by using various product operations. The exceptional case is that of the Petersen graph, and we present some questions about it.
We give a combinatorial formula for the non-symmetric Macdonald polynomials E_μ(x;q,t). The formula generalizes our previous combinatorial interpretation of the integral form symmetric Macdonald polynomials J_μ(x;q,t). We prove the new formula by verifying that it satisfies a recurrence, due to Knop, that characterizes the non-symmetric Macdonald polynomials.
A characterization of the space of symmetric Laurent polynomials of type $(BC)_n$ which vanish on a certain set of submanifolds is given by using the Koornwinder-Macdonald polynomials. A similar characterization was given previously for symmetric polynomials of type $A_n$ by using the Macdonald polynomials. We use a new method which exploits the duality relation. The method simplifies a part of the proof in the $A_n$ case.
We extend the previous paper "Macdonald's evaluation ... and applications" to the non-symmetric polynomilas recently introduced by Macdonald (as difference counterparts of Opdam's non-symmetric ones).
