We consider the optimization problem of minimizing $\int_ΩG(|\nabla u|)+λχ_{\{u>0\}} dx$ in the class of functions $W^{1,G}(Ω)$ with $u-ϕ_0\in W_0^{1,G}(Ω)$, for a given $ϕ_0\geq 0$ and bounded. $W^{1,G}(Ω)$ is the class of weakly differentiable functions with $\int_ΩG(|\nabla u|) dx<\infty$. The conditions on the function G allow for a different behavior at 0 and at $\infty$. We prove that every solution u is locally Lipschitz continuous, that they are solution to a free boundary problem and that the free boundary, $\partial\{u>0\}\cap Ω$, is a regular surface. Also, we introduce the notion of weak solution to the free boundary problem solved by the minimizers and prove the Lipschitz regularity of the weak solutions and the $C^{1,α}$ regularity of their free boundaries near ``flat'' free boundary points.
We consider the Dirichlet problem for quasilinear elliptic equations with Musielak-Orlicz (p,q)-growth and non-logarithmic conditions on the coefficients. A sufficient Wiener-type condition for the regularity of a boundary point is established.
In this work we estend a recent result of Kristály, Marzantowicz and Varga concerning the existence of three critical points certain non-smooth functionals. Using this result, we guarantee the existence of three solutions to a inclusion quasilinear problem, with non-homogeneous boundary condition through Orlicz Sobolev spaces.
In the first part of this article we deal with the existence of at least three non-trivial weak solutions of a nonlocal problem with nonstandard growth involving a nonlocal Robin type boundary condition. The second part of the article is devoted to study eigenvalues and minimizers of several nonlocal problems for the fractional $g-$Laplacian $(-Δ_g)^s$ with different boundary conditions, namely, Dirichlet, Neumann and Robin.
Perron's method and Wiener's criterion have entirely solved the Dirichlet problem for the Laplace equation. Since then, this approach has attracted the attention of many mathematicians for applying these ideas in the more general equations. So, in this paper, we extend the Perron method and the Wiener criterion to the $G(\cdot)$-Laplace equation.
We prove a continuous embedding that allows us to obtain a boundary trace imbedding result for anisotropic Musielak-Orlicz spaces, which we then apply to obtain an existence result for Neumann problems with nonlinearities on the boundary associated to some anisotropic nonlinear elliptic equations in Musielak-Orlicz spaces constructed from Musielak-Orlicz functions on which and on their conjugates we do not assume the $Δ_2$-condition. The uniqueness is also studied.
Boundary value problems for second-order elliptic equations in divergence form, whose nonlinearity is governed by a convex function of non-necessarily power type, are considered. The global boundedness of their solutions is established under boundary conditions of Dirichlet, or Neumann, or Robin type. A decisive role in the results is played by optimal forms of Orlicz-Sobolev embeddings and boundary trace embeddings, which allow for critical growths of the coefficients.
We prove continuity up to the boundary of the minimizer of an obstacle problem and higher integrability of its gradient under generalized Orlicz growth. The result recovers similar results obtained in the special cases of polynomial growth, variable exponent growth and produces new results for Orlicz and double phase growth.
In this paper, we investigate the existence of weak solution for a Kirchhoff type problem driven by a nonlocal operator of elliptic type in a fractional Orlicz-Sobolev space, with homogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions {\small$$ (D_{K,A}) \hspace*{0.5cm} \left\{ \begin{array}{clclc} M\left( \displaystyle \int_{\R^{2N}}A\left( [u(x)-u(y)] K(x,y)\right) dxdy\right) \mathcal{L}^K_A u & = & f(x,u) & \text{ in }& Ω, \hspace*{7cm} u & = & 0 \hspace*{0.2cm} \hspace*{0.2cm} & \text{ in } & \R^N\setminus Ω. \label{eq1} \end{array} \right. $$ } Where $\mathcal{L}^K_A$ is a nonlocal operator with sing…

本文研究如下边值问题(P)- \mathrm{div}(|\nabla使用|)\nabla u)=f(x,u),\ & in $Ω$,u=0,& on $\partialΩ$ }具有非齐次主部.
This paper concerns with the study of the asymptotic behavior of the solutions to a family of fractional type problems on a bounded domain, satisfying homogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions. The family of differential operators includes the fractional $p_n$-Laplacian when $p_n\to\infty$ as a particular case, tough it could be extended to a function of the Hölder quotient of order $s$, whose primitive is an Orlicz function satisfying appropriated growth conditions. The limit equation involves the Hölder infinity Laplacian.
The aim of this paper is to study the heterogeneous optimization problem \begin{align*} \mathcal {J}(u)=\int_Ω(G(|\nabla u|)+qF(u^+)+hu+λ_{+}χ_{\{u>0\}} )\text{d}x\rightarrow\text{min}, \end{align*} in the class of functions $ W^{1,G}(Ω)$ with $ u-φ\in W^{1,G}_{0}(Ω)$, for a given function $φ$, where $W^{1,G}(Ω)$ is the class of weakly differentiable functions with $\int_ΩG(|\nabla u|)\text{d}x<\infty$. The functions $G$ and $F$ satisfy structural conditions of Lieberman's type that allow for a different behavior at $0$ and at $\infty$. {}{Moreover, $F$ allows for a subcritical growth.} Given …
We study integral operators $\mathcal{L}u(x)=\int_{\mathbb{R^N}}ψ(u(x)-u(y))J(x-y)\,dy$ of the type of the fractional $p$-Laplacian operator, and the properties of the corresponding Orlicz and Sobolev-Orlicz spaces. In particular we show a Poincaré inequality and a Sobolev inequality, depending on the singularity at the origin of the kernel $J$ considered, which may be very weak. Both inequalities lead to compact inclusions. We then use those properties to study the associated elliptic problem $\mathcal{L}u=f$ in a bounded domain $Ω$, and boundary condition $u\equiv0$ on $Ω^c$; both cases $f=f…
In this paper, we investigate the existence of weak solution for a fractional type problems driven by a nonlocal operator of elliptic type in a fractional Orlicz-Sobolev space, with homogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions. We first extend the fractional Sobolev spaces $W^{s,p}$ to include the general case $W^sL_A$, where $A$ is an N-function and $s\in (0,1)$. We are concerned with some qualitative properties of the space $W^sL_A$ (completeness, reflexivity and separability). Moreover, we prove a continuous and compact embedding theorem of these spaces into Lebesgue spaces.
In this manuscript we study the following optimization problem: given a bounded and regular domain $Ω\subset \mathbb{R}^N$ we look for an optimal shape for the "$\mathrm{W}-$vanishing window" on the boundary with prescribed measure over all admissible profiles in the framework of the Orlicz-Sobolev spaces associated to constant for the "Sobolev trace embedding". In this direction, we establish existence of minimizer profiles and optimal sets, as well as we obtain further properties for such extremals. Finally, we also place special emphasis on analyzing the corresponding optimization problem i…

We study properties of $\mathcal{A}$-harmonic and $\mathcal{A}$-superharmonic functions involving an operator having generalized Orlicz-growth embracing besides Orlicz case also natural ranges of variable exponent and double-phase cases. In particular, Harnack's Principle and Minimum Principle are provided for $\mathcal{A}$-superharmonic functions and boundary Harnack inequality is proven for $\mathcal{A}$-harmonic functions.
We consider a parabolic PDE with Dirichlet boundary condition and monotone operator $A$ with non-standard growth controlled by an $N$-function depending on time and spatial variable. We do not assume continuity in time for the $N$-function. Using an additional regularization effect coming from the equation, we establish the existence of weak solutions and in the particular case of isotropic $N$-function, we also prove their uniqueness. This general result applies to equations studied in the literature like $p(t,x)$-Laplacian and double-phase problems.
We provide sufficient conditions for boundary Hardy inequality to hold in bounded Lipschitz domains, complement of a point (the so-called point Hardy inequality), domain above the graph of a Lipschitz function, the complement of a bounded Lipschitz domain in fractional Orlicz-Sobolev setting. As a consequence, we get sufficient conditions for regional fractional Orlicz Poincaré inequality in bounded Lipschitz domains. Necessary conditions for fractional Orlicz Hardy and regional fractional Orlicz Poincaré inequalities are also given for bounded Lipschitz domains. Various sufficient conditions …

We study a non-homogeneous boundary value problem in a smooth bounded domain in $\mathbb{R}^N$. We prove the existence of at least two nonnegative and non-trivial weak solutions. Our approach relies on Orlicz-Sobolev spaces theory combined with adequate variational methods and a variant of Mountain Pass Lemma.
We study the homogenization process for families of strongly nonlinear elliptic systems with the homogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions. The growth and the coercivity of the elliptic operator is assumed to be indicated by a general inhomogeneous anisotropic $N-$function, which may be possibly also dependent on the spatial variable, i.e., the homogenization process will change the characteristic function spaces at each step. Such a problem is well known and there exists many positive results for the function satisfying $Δ_2$ and $\nabla_2$ conditions an being in addition Hölder continuous wi…
In this article we consider the following weighted nonlinear eigenvalue problem for the $g-$Laplacian $$ -\mathop{\text{ div}}\left( g(|\nabla u|)\frac{\nabla u}{|\nabla u|}\right) = λw(x) h(|u|)\frac{u}{|u|} \quad \text{ in }Ω\subset \mathbb{R}^n, n\geq 1 $$ with Dirichlet boundary conditions. Here $w$ is a suitable weight and $g=G'$ and $h=H'$ are appropriated Young functions satisfying the so called $Δ'$ condition, which includes for instance logarithmic perturbation of powers and different power behaviors near zero and infinity. We prove several properties on its spectrum, being our main g…
A way to measure the lower growth rate of $φ:Ω\times [0,\infty) \to [0,\infty)$ is to require $t \mapsto φ(x,t)t^{-r}$ to be increasing in $(0,\infty)$. If this condition holds with $r=1$, then \[ \inf_{u\in f+W^{1, φ}_0(Ω)}\int_Ωφ(x, |\nabla u|) \, dx \] with boundary values $f\in W^{1,φ}(Ω)$ does not necessary have a minimizer. However, if $φ$ is replaced by $φ^p$, then the growth condition holds with $r=p > 1$ and thus (under some additional conditions) the corresponding energy integral has a minimizer. We show that a sequence $(u_p)$ of such minimizers convergences when $p \to 1^+$ in a su…
Orlicz-type Function Spaces and Generalized Gradient Flows with Degenerate Dissipation Potentials in Non-Reflexive Banach Spaces: Theory and Application
In this paper we study quasilinear elliptic equations driven by the double phase operator along with a reaction that has a singular and a parametric superlinear term and with a nonlinear Neumann boundary condition of critical growth. Based on a new equivalent norm for Musielak-Orlicz Sobolev spaces and the Nehari manifold along with the fibering method we prove the existence of at least two weak solutions provided the parameter is sufficiently small.
This paper addresses the input-to-state stability (ISS) and integral input-to-state stability (iISS) for a class of nonlinear higher dimensional parabolic partial differential equations (PDEs) with different types of boundary disturbances (Robin or Neumann or Dirichlet) from different spaces by means of approximations of Lyapunov functions. Specifically, by constructing approximations of (coercive and non-coercive) ISS Lyapunov functions we establish: (i) the ISS and iISS in $L^1$-norm (and weighted $L^1$-norm) for PDEs with boundary disturbances from $L^q_{loc}(\mathbb{R}_+;L^1(\partialΩ))$-s…
We prove that the zero set of a nonnegative plurisubharmonic function that solves $\det (\partial \overline{\partial} u) \geq 1$ in $\mathbb{C}^n$ and is in $W^{2, \frac{n(n-k)}{k}}$ contains no analytic sub-variety of dimension $k$ or larger. Along the way we prove an analogous result for the real Monge-Ampère equation, which is also new. These results are sharp in view of well-known examples of Pogorelov and Błocki. As an application, in the real case we extend interior regularity results to the case that $u$ lies in a critical Sobolev space (or more generally, certain Sobolev-Orlicz spaces)…
We study the generalized stationary Stokes system in a bounded domain in the plane equipped with perfect slip boundary conditions. We show natural stability results in oscillatory spaces, i.e. Hölder spaces and Campanato spaces including the border-line spaces of bounded mean oscillations (BMO) and vanishing mean oscillations (VMO). In particular, we show that under appropriate assumptions gradients of solutions are globally continuous. Since the stress tensor is assumed to be governed by a general Orlicz function, our theory includes various cases of (possibly degenerate) shear thickening and…
Boundary value problems for a class of quasilinear elliptic equations, with an Orlicz type growth and L^1 right-hand side are considered. Both Dirichlet and Neumann problems are contemplated. Existence and uniqueness of generalized solutions, as well as their regularity, are established. The case of measure right-hand sides is also analyzed.
Let $\mathcal{X}$ be a metric space with doubling measure and $L$ a non-negative self-adjoint operator on $L^2(\mathcal{X})$ whose heat kernels satisfy the Gaussian upper bound estimates. Assume that the growth function $φ:\ \mathcal{X}\times[0,\infty) \to[0,\infty)$ satisfies that $φ(x,\cdot)$ is an Orlicz function and $φ(\cdot,t)\in {\mathbb A}_{\infty}(\mathcal{X})$ (the class of uniformly Muckenhoupt weights). Let $H_{φ,\,L}(\mathcal{X})$ be the Musielak-Orlicz-Hardy space defined via the Lusin area function associated with the heat semigroup of $L$. In this article, the authors characteri…
In this paper we discuss the controllability of two-point boundary value problem (TBVP) for one-dimensional wave equation. Some new concepts are introduced: TBVP input control problem, minimum-input solution (MS) and pre-minimum-input solution (PMS). We set the metric in $L^1$ and $L^2$ spaces on a closed set, and control the input to reach its minimum. And we mainly discuss the property of input, the existence and uniqueness of MS and PMS for $L^1$ and $L^2$ metric respectively. The minimum inputs lie on a strip in $L^1$ and PMS for $L^1$ and $L^2$ always exists. Furthermore, to construct PMS…
We consider the inverse problem of recovering an isotropic electrical conductivity from interior knowledge of the magnitude of one current density field generated by applying current on a set of electrodes. The required interior data can be obtained by means of MRI measurements. On the boundary we only require knowledge of the electrodes, their impedances, and the corresponding average input currents. From the mathematical point of view, this practical question leads us to consider a new weighted minimum gradient problem for functions satisfying the boundary conditions coming from the Complete…
