We give necessary and sufficient conditions on a row-finite graph E so that the Leavitt path algebra L(E) is purely infinite simple. This result provides the algebraic analog to the corresponding result for the Cuntz-Krieger C$^*$-algebra C$^*$(E) given in [7].
In this article, we give necessary and sufficient conditions under which the Leavitt path algebra $L_K(\mathcal{G})$ of an ultragraph $\mathcal{G}$ over a field $K$ is purely infinite simple and that it is von Neumann regular. Consequently, we obtain that every graded simple ultragraph Leavitt path algebra is either a locally matricial algebra, or a full matrix ring over $K[x, x^{-1}]$, or a purely infinite simple algebra.
Let $R$ denote the purely infinite simple unital Leavitt path algebra $L(E)$. We completely determine the pairs of positive integers $(c,d)$ for which there is an isomorphism of matrix rings $M_c(R)\cong M_d(R)$, in terms of the order of $[1_R]$ in the Grothendieck group $K_0(R)$.
We identify largest ideals in Leavitt path algebras: the largest locally left/right artinian (which is the largest semisimple one), the largest locally left/right noetherian without minimal idempotents, the largest exchange, and the largest purely infinite. This last ideal is described as a direct sum of purely infinite simple pieces plus purely infinite non-simple and non-decomposable pieces. The invariance under ring isomorphisms of these ideals is also studied.
The stable rank of Leavitt path algebras of row-finite graphs was computed by Ara and Pardo. In this paper we extend this for an arbitrary directed graph. In some parts, we proceed our computation as the row-finite case while in some parts we use the knowledge about row-finite setting by applying the desingularizing method due to Drinen and Tomforde. In particular, we characterize purely infinite simple quotients of a Leavitt path algebra.
We relate two conjectures which have been raised for classification of Leavitt path algebras. For purely infinite simple unital Leavitt path algebras, it is conjectured that K_0 classifies them completely. For arbitrary Leavitt path algebras, it is conjectured that K^{\gr}_0 classifies them completely \cite{hazann}. We show that for two finite graphs with no sinks (which their associated Leavitt path algebras include the purely infinite simple ones) if their K^{\gr}_0-groups of their Leavitt path algebras are isomorphic then their K_0-groups are isomorphic as well.
The aim of this work is the description of the isomorphism classes of all Leavitt path algebras coming from graphs satisfying Condition (Sing) with up to three vertices. In particular, this classification recovers the one achieved by Abrams et al. in the case of graphs whose Leavitt path algebras are purely infinite simple. The description of the isomorphism classes is given in terms of a series of invariants including the K_0 group, the socle, the number of loops with no exits and the number of hereditary and saturated subsets of the graph.
Using the E-algebraic systems, various graded irreducible representations of a Leavitt path algebra L of a graph E over a field K are constructed. The concept of a Laurent vertex is introduced and it is shown that the minimal graded left ideals of L are generated by Laurent vertices and/or line points leading to a detailed description of the graded socle of L. Following this, a complete characterization is obtained of the Leavitt path algebras over which every graded irreducible representation is finitely presented. A useful result is that the irreducible representation V_[p] induced by infini…
Irreducible representations of both Leavitt and Cohn path algebras of an arbitrary digraph with coefficients in a commutative field is classified. They are constructed in several ways using both infinite paths on the right as well as direct limits or factors of one-sided projective ideals of the ordinary quiver algebra, respectively. Furthermore, their defining relations are described, too, whence criterions are easily given when they are finitely presented or finite dimensional. Moreover, their endomorphism rings, annihilator primitive ideals are also computed directly. In particular, the car…
Let $E$ be an arbitrary graph and $K$ be any field. We construct various classes of non-isomorphic simple modules over the Leavitt path algebra $L_{K}(E)$ induced by vertices which are infinite emiters, closed paths which are exclusive cycles and paths which are infinite, and call these simple modules Chen modules. It is shown that every primitive ideal of $L_{K}(E)$ can be realized as the annihilator ideal of some Chen module. Our main result establishes the equivalence between a graph theoretic condition and various conditions concerning the structure of simple modules over $L_K(E)$.
There is a tight relation between the geometry of a directed graph and the algebraic structure of a Leavitt path algebra associated to it. In this note, we show a similar connection between the geometry of the graph and the structure of a certain monoid associated to it. This monoid is isomorphic to the positive cone of the graded K0-group of the Leavitt path algebra which is naturally equipped with a Z-action. As an example, we show that a graph has a cycle without an exit if and only if the monoid has a periodic element. Consequently a graph has Condition (L) if and only if the group Z acts …
We prove that the Bowen-Franks group classifies the Leavitt path algebras of purely infinite simple finite graphs over a regular supercoherent commutative ring with involution where $2$ is invertible, equipped with their standard involutions, up to matricial stabilization and involution preserving homotopy equivalence. We also consider a twisting of the standard involution on Leavitt path algebras and obtain partial results in the same direction for purely infinite simple graphs. Our tools are $K$-theoretic, and we prove several results about (Hermitian, bivariant) $K$-theory of Leavitt path a…
In this paper we introduce new techniques in order to deepen into the structure of a Leavitt path algebra with the aim of giving a description of the center. Extreme cycles appear for the first time; they concentrate the purely infinite part of a Leavitt path algebra and, jointly with the line points and vertices in cycles without exits, are the key ingredients in order to determine the center of a Leavitt path algebra. Our work will rely on our previous approach to the center of a prime Leavitt path algebra \cite{CMMSS1}. We will go further into the structure itself of the Leavitt path algebr…
In this paper we address the classification problem for purely infinite simple Leavitt path algebras of finite graphs over a field $\ell$. Each graph $E$ has associated a Leavitt path $\ell$-algebra $L(E)$. There is an open question which asks whether the pair $(K_0(L(E)), [1_{L(E)}])$, consisting of the Grothendieck group together with the class $[1_{L(E)}]$ of the identity, is a complete invariant for the classification, up to algebra isomorphism, of those Leavitt path algebras of finite graphs which are purely infinite simple. We show that $(K_0(L(E)), [1_{L(E)}])$ is a complete invariant f…
Recently it was shown that the notion of flow equivalence of shifts of finite type in symbolic dynamics is related to the Morita theory and the Grothendieck group in the theory of Leavitt path algebras \cite{flowa}. In this paper we show that the notion of conjugacy of shifts of finite type is closely related to the {\it graded} Morita theory and consequently the {\it graded} Grothendieck group. This fits into the general framework we have in these two theories: Conjugacy yields the flow equivalence and the graded Morita equivalence can be lifted to the Morita equivalence. Starting from a fini…
Let $ξ:C^*(E)\to C^*(F)$ be a unital $*$-homomorphism between simple purely infinite Cuntz-Krieger algebras of finite graphs. We prove that there exists a unital $*$-homomorphism $ϕ:L(E)\to L(F)$ between the corresponding Leavitt path-algebras such that $ξ$ is homotopic to the map $\hatϕ:C^*(E)\to C^*(F)$ induced by completion. We show moreover that $\hatϕ$ is a homotopy equivalence in the $C^*$-algebraic sense if and only if $ϕ$ is a homotopy equivalence in the algebraic, polynomial sense. We deduce, in particular, that any isomorphism between simple purely infinite Cuntz-Krieger algebras is …
We investigate the ascending Loewy socle series of Leavitt path algebras $L_K(E)$ for an arbitrary graph $E$ and field $K$. We classify those graphs $E$ for which $L_K(E)=S_λ$ for some element $S_λ$ of the Loewy socle series. We then show that for any ordinal $λ$ there exists a graph $E$ so that the Loewy length of $L_K(E)$ is $λ$. Moreover, $λ\leq ω$ (the first infinite ordinal) if $E$ is a row-finite graph.
Let $E$ be a directed graph, $K$ any field, and let $L_K(E)$ denote the Leavitt path algebra of $E$ with coefficients in $K$. For each rational infinite path $c^\infty$ of $E$ we explicitly construct a projective resolution of the corresponding Chen simple left $L_K(E)$-module $V_{[c^\infty]}$. Further, when $E$ is row-finite, for each irrational infinite path $p$ of $E$ we explicitly construct a projective resolution of the corresponding Chen simple left $L_K(E)$-module $V_{[p]}$. For Chen simple modules $S,T$ we describe ${\rm Ext}_{L_K(E)}^1(S,T)$ by presenting an explicit $K$-basis. For an…
We study the center of several types of path algebras. We start with the path algebra $KE$ and prove that if the number of vertices is infinite then the center is zero. Otherwise, it coincides with the field $K$ except when the graph $E$ is a cycle in which case the center is $K[x]$, the polynomial algebra in one indeterminate. Then we compute the centers of prime Cohn and Leavitt path algebras. A lower and an upper bound for the center of a Leavitt path algebra are given by introducing the graded Baer radical for graded algebras.
Two unanswered questions in the heart of the theory of Leavitt path algebras are whether Grothendieck group $K_0$ is a complete invariant for the class of unital purely infinite simple algebras and, a weaker question, whether $L_2$ (the Leavitt path algebra associated to a vertex with two loops) and its Cuntz splice algebra $L_{2-}$ are isomorphic. The positive answer to the first question implies the latter. In this short paper, we raise and investigate another question, the so-called Serre's conjecture, which sits in between of the above two questions: The positive answer to the classificati…
The main aim of the paper is to give a socle theory for Leavitt path algebras of arbitrary graphs. We use both the desingularization process and combinatorial methods to study Morita invariant properties concerning the socle and to characterize it, respectively. Leavitt path algebras with nonzero socle are described as those which have line points, and it is shown that the line points generate the socle of a Leavitt path algebra, extending so the results for row-finite graphs in the previous paper [12] (but with different methods). A concrete description of the socle of a Leavitt path algebra …
In this paper we prove that two idempotent rings are Morita equivalent if every corner of one of them is isomorphic to a corner of a matrix ring of the other one. We establish the converse (which is not true in general) for $σ$-unital rings having a $σ$-unit consisting of von Neumann regular elements. The following aim is to show that a property is Morita invariant if it is invariant under taking corners and under taking matrices. The previous results are used to check the Morita invariance of certain ring properties (being locally left/right artinian/noetherian, being categorically left/right…
Leavitt path algebras L of an arbitrary graph E over a field K satisfying a polynomial identity are completely characterized both in graph-theoretic and algebraic terms. When E is a finite graph, L satisfying a polynomial identity is shown to be equivalent to the Gelfand-Kirillov dimension of L being at most one, though this is no longer true for infinite graphs. It is shown that, for an arbitrary graph E, the Leavitt path algebra L has Gelfand-Kirillov dimension zero if and only if E has no cycles. Likewise, L has Gelfand-Kirillov dimension one if and only if E contains at least one cycle, bu…
Given an arbitrary graph E and any field K, a new class of simple left modules over the Leavitt path algebra L of the graph E over K is constructed by using vertices that emit infinitely many edges. The corresponding annihilating primitive ideals are described and is used to show that these new class of simple L-modules are different from(that is non-isomorphic to) any of the previously known simple modules. Using a Boolean subring of idempotents induced by paths in E, bounds for the cardinality of the set of distinct isomorphism classes of simple L-modules are given. We also append other info…
We prove an algebraic version of the Gauge-Invariant Uniqueness Theorem, a result which gives information about the injectivity of certain homomorphisms between ${\mathbb Z}$-graded algebras. As our main application of this theorem, we obtain isomorphisms between the Leavitt path algebras of specified graphs. From these isomorphisms we are able to achieve two ends. First, we show that the $K_0$ groups of various sets of purely infinite simple Leavitt path algebras, together with the position of the identity element in $K_0$, classifies the algebras in these sets up to isomorphism. Second, we s…
Let E be an arbitrary graph, K be any field and let L be the corresponding Leavitt path algebra. Necessary and sufficient conditions (which are both algebraic and graphical) are given under which all the irreducible representations of L are finitely presented. In this case, the graph E turns out to be row finite and the cycles in E form an artinian partial ordered set under a defined preorder. When the graph E is finite, the above graphical conditions were shown to be equivalent to the algebra L having finite Gelfand-Kirillov dimension in a paper by Alahmadi, Alsulami, Jain and Zelmanov. Examp…
We introduce ring theoretic constructions that are similar to the construction of wreath product of groups. In particular, for a given graph $Γ=(V,E)$ and an associate algebra $A,$ we construct an algebra $B=A\, wr\, L(Γ)$ with the following property: $B$ has an ideal $I$,which consists of (possibly infinite) matrices over $A$, $B/I\cong L(Γ)$, the Leavitt path algebra of the graph $Γ$. \medskip \par Let $W\subset V$ be a hereditary saturated subset of the set of vertices [1], $Γ(W)=(W,E(W,W))$ is the restriction of the graph $Γ$ to $W$, $Γ/W$ is the quotient graph [1]. Then $L(Γ)\cong L(W)$ w…
We show that the long exact sequence for K-groups of Leavitt path algebras deduced by Ara, Brustenga, and Cortinas extends to Leavitt path algebras of countable graphs with infinite emitters in the obvious way. Using this long exact sequence, we compute explicit formulas for the higher algebraic K-groups of Leavitt path algebras over certain fields, including all finite fields and all algebraically closed fields. We also examine classification of Leavitt path algebras using K-theory. It is known that the K_0-group and K_1-group do not suffice to classify purely infinite simple unital Leavitt p…
Let $K$ be any field, let $L_n$ denote the Leavitt algebra of type $(1,n-1)$ having coefficients in $K$, and let ${\rm M}_d(L_n)$ denote the ring of $d \times d$ matrices over $L_n$. In our main result, we show that ${\rm M}_d(L_n) \cong L_n$ if and only if $d$ and $n-1$ are coprime. We use this isomorphism to answer a question posed in \cite{PS} regarding isomorphisms between various C*-algebras. Furthermore, our result demonstrates that data about the $K_0$ structure is sufficient to distinguish up to isomorphism the algebras in an important class of purely infinite simple $K$-algebras.
We prove that if E and F are graphs with a finite number of vertices and an infinite number of edges, if K is a field, and if L_K(E) and L_K(F) are simple Leavitt path algebras, then L_K(E) is Morita equivalent to L_K(F) if and only if K_0^\textnormal{alg} (L_K(E)) \cong K_0^\textnormal{alg} (L_K(F)) and the graphs $E$ and $F$ have the same number of singular vertices, and moreover, in this case one may transform the graph E into the graph F using basic moves that preserve the Morita equivalence class of the associated Leavitt path algebra. We also show that when K is a field with no free quot…
Let E be an arbitrary directed graph with no restrictions on the number of vertices and edges and let K be any field. We give necessary and sufficient conditions for the Leavitt path algebra L_K(E) to be of countable irreducible representation type, that is, we determine when L_K(E)has at most countably many distinct isomorphism classes of simple left L_K(E-modules. It is also shown that L_K(E) has dinitely many isomorphism classes of simple left modules if and only if L_K(E) is a semi-artinian von Neumann regular ring with at most finitely many ideals. Equivalent conditions on the graph E are…
In this paper we introduce the concept of purely infinite rings, which in the simple case agrees with the already existing notion of pure infiniteness. We establish various permanence properties of this notion, with respect to passage to matrix rings, corners, and behaviour under extensions, so being purely infinite is preserved under Morita equivalence. We show that a wealth of examples falls into this class, including important analogues of constructions commonly found in operator algebras. In particular, for any (s-)unital $K$-algebra having enough nonzero idempotents (for example, for a vo…
In this paper, we give a complete characterization of Leavitt path algebras which are graded $Σ$-$V$ rings, that is, rings over which a direct sum of arbitrary copies of any graded simple module is graded injective. Specifically, we show that a Leavitt path algebra $L$ over an arbitrary graph $E$ is a graded $Σ$-$V$ ring if and only if it is a subdirect product of matrix rings of arbitrary size but with finitely many non-zero entries over $K$ or $K[x,x^{-1}]$ with appropriate matrix gradings. We also obtain a graphical characterization of such a graded $Σ$-$V$ ring $L$% . When the graph $E$ is…
Let $n$ be a positive integer. For each $0\leq j \leq n-1$ we let $C_n^j$ denote the Cayley graph of the cyclic group $\mathbb{Z}_n$ with respect to the subset $\{1,j\}$. Utilizing the Smith Normal Form process, we give an explicit description of the Grothendieck group of each of the Leavitt path algebras $L_K(C_n^j)$ for any field $K$. Our general method significantly streamlines the approach that was used in previous work to establish this description in the specific case $j=2$. Along the way, we give necessary and sufficient conditions on the pairs $(j,n)$ which yield that this group is inf…
It is a conjecture that for the class of Leavitt path algebras associated to finite directed graphs, their graded Grothendieck groups $K_0^{\mathrm{gr}}$ are a complete invariant. For a Leavitt path algebra $L_{\mathsf k}(E)$, with coefficient in a field ${\mathsf k}$, the monoid of the positive cone of $K_0^{\mathrm{gr}}(L_{\mathsf k}(E))$ can be described completely in terms of the graph $E$. In this note we further investigate the structure of this "talented monoid", showing how it captures intrinsic properties of the graph and hence the structure of its associated Leavitt path algebras. In…
Let $K$ be a field, let $E$ be a finite directed graph, and let $L_K(E)$ be the Leavitt path algebra of $E$ over $K$. We show that for a prime ideal $P$ in $L_K(E)$, the following are equivalent: \begin{enumerate} \item $P$ is primitive; \item $P$ is rational; \item $P$ is locally closed in ${\rm Spec}(L_K(E))$. \end{enumerate} We show that the prime spectrum ${\rm Spec}(L_K(E))$ decomposes into a finite disjoint union of subsets, each of which is homeomorphic to ${\rm Spec}(K)$ or to ${\rm Spec}(K[x,x^{-1}])$. In the case that $K$ is infinite, we show that $L_K(E)$ has a rational $K^{\times}$…
In the past, it has been shown that the Leavitt path algebra $L(E)=L_K(E)$ of a graph $E$ over a field $K$ is left and right noetherian if and only if the graph $E$ is finite and no cycle of $E$ has an exit. If $Q(E)=Q_K(E)$ denotes the regular algebra over $L(E),$ we prove that these conditions are further equivalent with any of the following: $L(E)$ contains no infinite set of orthogonal idempotents, $L(E)$ has finite uniform dimension, $L(E)$ is directly finite, $Q(E)$ is directly finite, $Q(E)$ is unit-regular, and a few more equivalences. In addition, if the involution on $K$ is positive …
We introduce certain functors from the category of commutative rings (and related categories) to that of $\mathbb{Z}$-algebras (not necessarily associative or commutative). One of the motivating examples is the Leavitt path algebra functor $R\mapsto L_R(E)$ for a given graph $E$. Our goal is to find "descending" isomorphism results of the type: if $\mathfrak{F},\mathcal{G}$ are algebra functors and $K\subset K'$ a field extension, under what conditions an isomorphism $\mathfrak{F}(K')\cong \mathcal{G}(K')$ of $K'$-algebras implies the existence of an isomorphism $\mathfrak{F}(K)\cong\mathcal{G…
It is known that the ideals of a Leavitt path algebra $L_K(E)$ generated by $\Pl(E)$, by $\Pc(E)$ or by $\Pec(E)$ are invariant under isomorphism. Though the ideal generated by $\Pb(E)$ is not invariant we find its \lq\lq natural\rq\rq\ replacement (which is indeed invariant): the one generated by the vertices of $\Pbp$ (vertices with pure infinite bifurcations). We also give some procedures to construct invariant ideals from previous known invariant ideals. One of these procedures involves topology, so we introduce the $\tops$ topology and relate it to annihilators in the algebraic counterpar…
This article is the first of two where we investigate to what extent homotopy invariant, excisive and matrix stable homology theories help one distinguish between the Leavitt path algebras $L(E)$ and $L(F)$ of graphs $E$ and $F$ over a commutative ground ring $\ell$. In this first article we consider Leavitt path algebras of general graphs over general ground rings; the second article will focus mostly on purely infinite simple unital Leavitt path algebras over a field. Bivariant algebraic $K$-theory $kk$ is the universal homology theory with the properties above; we prove a structure theorem …
Given any finitely aligned higher-rank graph $Λ$ and any unital commutative ring $R$, the Kumjian-Pask algebra $\mathrm{KP}_R(Λ)$ is known as the higher-rank generalization of Leavitt path algebras. After characterizing simple Kumjian-Pask algebras by L.O. Clark and Y.E.P. Pangalela (and others), we focus in this article on the purely infinite simple ones. Briefly, we show that if $\mathrm{KP}_R(Λ)$ is simple and every vertex of $Λ$ is reached from a generalized cycle with an entrance, then $\mathrm{KP}_R(Λ)$ is purely infinite. We next prove a standard dichotomy for simple Kumjian-Pask algebr…
For a weighted graph $E$, we construct representation graphs $F$, and consequently, $L_K(E)$-modules $V_F$, where $L_K(E)$ is the Leavitt path algebra associated to $E$, with coefficients in a field $K$. We characterise representation graphs $F$ such that $V_F$ are simple $L_K(E)$-modules. We show that the category of representation graphs of $E$, $RG(E)$, is a disjoint union of subcategories, each of which contains a unique universal object $T$ which gives an indecomposable $L_K(E)$-module $V_T$ and a unique irreducible representation graph $S$, which gives a simple $L_K(E)$-module $V_S$. Spe…
The Gelfand-Kirillov dimension is a well established quantity to classify the growth of infinite dimensional algebras. In this article we introduce the algebraic entropy for path algebras. For the path algebras, Leavitt path algebras and the path algebra of the extended (double) graph, we compare the Gelfand-Kirillov dimension and the entropy. We give a complete classification of path algebras over finite graphs by dimension, Gelfand-Kirillov dimension and algebraic entropy. We show indeed how these three quantities are dependent on cycles inside the graph. Moreover we show that the algebraic …
In this note, we study the notion of purely infinite simple ring in the case of non-unital rings, and we obtain an analog to Zhang's Dichotomy for $σ$-unital purely infinite simple C*-algebras in the purely algebraic context.
An ultragraph gives rise to a labelled graph with some particular properties. In this paper we describe the algebras associated to such labelled graphs as groupoid algebras. More precisely, we show that the known groupoid algebra realization of ultragraph C*-algebras is only valid for ultragraphs for which the range of each edge is finite, and we extend this realization to any ultragraph (including ultragraphs with sinks). Using our machinery, we characterize the shift space associated to an ultragraph as the tight spectrum of the inverse semigroup associated to the ultragraph (viewed as a lab…
We extend the notion of a purely infinite simple C*-algebra to the context of unital rings, and we study its basic properties, specially those related to K-Theory. For instance, if $R$ is a purely infinite simple ring, then $K_0(R)^+= K_0(R)$, the monoid of isomorphism classes of finitely generated projective $R$-modules is isomorphic to the monoid obtained from $K_0(R)$ by adjoining a new zero element, and $K_1(R)$ is the abelianization of the group of units of $R$. We develop techniques of construction, obtaining new examples in this class in the case of von Neumann regular rings, and we com…
In this paper, we characterize properly purely infinite Steinberg algebras $A_K(\mathcal{G})$ for strongly effective, ample Hausdorff groupoids $\mathcal{G}$. As an application, when $Λ$ is a strongly aperiodic $k$-graph, we show that the notions of pure infiniteness and proper pure infiniteness are equivalent for the Kumjian-Pask algebra $\text{KP}_K(Λ)$, which may be determined by the proper infiniteness of vertex idempotents. In particular, for unital cases, we give simple graph-theoretic criteria for the (proper) pure infiniteness of $\text{KP}_K(Λ)$. Furthermore, since the complex Steinbe…
A simple Steinberg algebra associated to an ample Hausdorff groupoid $G$ is algebraically purely infinite if and only if the characteristic functions of compact open subsets of the unit space are infinite idempotents. If a simple Steinberg algebra is algebraically purely infinite, then the reduced groupoid $C^*$-algebra $C^*_r(G)$ is simple and purely infinite. But the Steinberg algebra seems to small for the converse to hold. For this purpose we introduce an intermediate $*$-algebra $B(G)$ constructed using corners $1_U C^*_r(G) 1_U$ for all compact open subsets $U$ of the unit space of the g…
We investigate polynomial endomorphisms of graph $C^*$-algebras and Leavitt path algebras. To this end, we define and analyze the coding graph corresponding to each such an endomorphism. We find an if and only if condition for the endomorphism to restrict to an automorphism of the diagonal MASA, which is stated in terms of synchronization of a certain labelling on the coding graph. We show that the dynamics induced this way on the space of infinite paths (the spectrum of the MASA) is generated by an asynchronous transducer.
In this article we analyze the notions of amenability and paradoxical decomposition from an algebraic perspective. We consider this dichotomy for locally finite extended metric spaces and for general algebras over commutative fields. In the context of algebras we also study the relation of amenability with proper infiniteness. We apply our general analysis to two important classes of algebras: the unital Leavitt path algebras and the translation algebras on locally finite extended metric spaces. In particular, we show that the amenability of a metric space is equivalent to the algebraic amenab…
