Let S_{w+2} be the vector space of cusp forms of weight w+2 on the full modular group, and let S_{w+2}^* denote its dual space. Periods of cusp forms can be regarded as elements of S_{w+2}^*. The Eichler-Shimura isomorphism theorem asserts that odd (or even) periods span S_{w+2}^*. However, periods are not linearly independent; in fact, they satisfy the Eichler-Shimura relations. This leads to a natural question: which periods would form a basis of S_{w+2}^*.
First we give an answer to this question. Passing to the dual space S_{w+2}, we will determine a new basis for S_{w+2}. The even period polynomials of this basis elements are expressed explicitly by means of Bernoulli polynomials.
Next we consider three spaces--S_{w+2}, the space of even Dedekind symbols of weight w with polynomial reciprocity laws, and the space of even period polynomials of degree w. There are natural correspondences among these three spaces. All these spaces are equipped with compatible action of Hecke operators. We will find explicit form of period polynomials and the actions of Hecke operators on the period polynomials.
Finally we will obtain explicit formulas for Hecke operators on S_{w+2} in terms of Bernoulli numbers B_k and divisor functions sigma_k(n), which are quite different from the Eichler-Selberg trace formula.
Systematic choice of the Hecke eigenforms of half-integral weight is an interesting problem in the theory of modular forms. In this paper, we find all Dedekind-eta products of half-integral weight which are Hecke eigenforms up to weight 15/2 with varying levels. Proof is based on the Shimura lift.

This work contains a proof of a non-trivial explicit quantitative bound in the eigenvalue aspect for the sup-norm of a SL(3,Z) Hecke-Maass cusp form restricted to a compact set.
Let $F$ and $G$ be Siegel cusp forms for $\Sp_4(\Z)$ and weights $k_1, k_2$ respectively. Also let $F$ and $G$ be Hecke eigenforms lying in distinct eigen spaces. Further suppose that neither $F$ nor $G$ is a Saito-Kurokawa lift. In this article, we study simultaneous arithmetic behaviour of Hecke eigenvalues of these Hecke eigenforms.
We introduce a new trace formula of Kuznetsov type involving the central standard L-values and the Whittaker periods of cuspidal automorphic representations of PGL_n(Q) which are spherical at the archimedean place. As an application, we show a simultaneous non-vanishing of standard L-values at n-1 points on the critical strip for infinitely many Hecke-Maass cuspidal newforms.
Let $k\geq 2$ and $n\geq 1$ be any integers. In this paper, we prove that all Hecke operators act trivially on the space of ordinary Drinfeld cuspforms of level $Γ_1(t^n)$ and weight $k$.
We prove that the fourth moment of holomorphic Hecke cusp forms is bounded provided that the Riemann Hypothesis holds for an appropriate degree 8 L-function. We accomplish this using Watson's formula, which translates the question in hand into a moment problem for L-functions which is amenable to the techniques of Soundararajan and Harper on obtaining sharp bounds for moments of the Riemann zeta function.
We consider sign changes of Fourier coefficients of Hecke-Maass cusp forms for the group $\mathrm{SL}_3(\mathbb Z)$. When the underlying form is self-dual, we show that there are $\gg_\varepsilon X^{5/6-\varepsilon}$ sign changes among the coefficients $\{A(m,1)\}_{m\leq X}$ and that there is a positive proportion of sign changes for many self-dual forms. Similar result concerning the positive proportion of sign changes also hold for the real-valued coefficients $A(m,m)$ for generic $\mathrm{GL}_3$ cusp forms, a result which is based on a new effective Sato-Tate type theorem for a family of $\…
Prime density results for Hecke eigenvalues of a Siegel cusp form
There are various reasons why a naive analog of the Maeda conjecture has to fail for Drinfeld cusp forms. Focussing on double cusp forms and using the link found by Teitelbaum between Drinfeld cusp forms and certain harmonic cochains, we observed a while ago that all obvious counterexamples disappear for certain Hecke-invariant subquotients of spaces of Drinfeld cusp forms of fixed weight, which can be defined naturally via representation theory. The present work extends Teitelbaum's isomorphism to an adelic setting and to arbitrary levels, it makes precise the impact of representation theory,…
Let $ψ$ be a function such that $ψ(x) \rightarrow \infty$ as $x \rightarrow \infty.$ Let $λ_{f}(n)$ be the $n$-th Hecke eigenvalue of a fixed holomorphic cusp form $f$ for $SL(2,\mathbb{Z}).$ We show that for any real valued function $h(x)$ such that $(\log X)^{2-2α} \ll h(X) =o(X),$ $$\sum_{n=x}^{x+h(X)} |λ_{f}(n)| \ll_{f} h(X)ψ(X)(\log X)^{α-1}$$ for all but $O_{f}( Xψ(X)^{-2})$ many integers $x\in [X,2X-h(X)],$ in which $α$ is the average value of $|λ_{f}(p)|$ over primes. We generalize this for $|λ_{f}(n)|^{2^{k}}$ for $k \in \mathbb{Z^{+}}.$
Non-vanishing and sign changes of Hecke eigenvalues for half-integral weight cusp forms
本文考虑了关于带半整数权的尖点形式$\mathfrak{f}$的傅里叶系数的符号的三个问题:\begin{itemize}\item[--]The first negative coefficient of the sequence $\{\mathfrak{a}\_{\mathfrak{f}}(tn^2)\}\_{n\in \N}$,\item[--]The number of coefficients $\mathfrak{a}\_{\mathfrak{f}}(tn^2)$ of same signs,\item[--]Non-vanishing of coefficients $\mathfrak{a}\_{\mathfrak{f}}(tn^2)$ in short intervals and in arithmetic progressions,\end{itemize}其中$\mathfrak{a}\_{\mathfrak{f}}(n)$是$\mathfrak{f}$的第$n$个傅里叶系数,$t$是无平方的整数,使得$\mathfrak{a}\_{\mathfrak{f}}(t)\not=0$ .
We investigate some key analytic properties of Fourier coefficients and Hecke eigenvalues attached to scalar-valued Siegel cusp forms $F$ of degree 2, weight $k$ and level $N$. First, assuming that $F$ is a Hecke eigenform that is not of Saito-Kurokawa type, we prove an improved bound in the $k$-aspect for the smallest prime at which its Hecke eigenvalue is negative. Secondly, we show that there are infinitely many sign changes among the Hecke eigenvalues of $F$ at primes lying in an arithmetic progression. Third, we show that there are infinitely many positive as well as infinitely many negat…

We consider the Fourier expansion of a Hecke (resp.\ Hecke--Maaß) cusp form of general level $N$ at the various cusps of $Γ_{0}(N)\bs\Hb$. We explain how to compute these coefficients via the local theory of $p$-adic Whittaker functions and establish a classical Voronoï summation formula allowing an arbitrary additive twist. Our discussion has applications to bounding sums of Fourier coefficients and understanding the (generalised) Atkin--Lehner relations.
In this paper we consider the question of when the set of Hecke eigenvalues of a cusp form on $GL_n(A_F)$ is contained in the set of Hecke eigenvalues of a cusp form on $GL_m(A_F)$ for $n \leq m$.This question is closely related to a question about finite dimensional representations of an abstract group, which also we consider in this work.
A well-known observation of Serre and Tate is that the Hecke algebra acts locally nilpotently on modular forms mod 2 on $\mathrm{SL}_2(\mathbb{Z})$. We give an algorithm for calculating the degree of Hecke nilpotency for cusp forms, and we obtain a formula for the total number of cusp forms mod 2 of any given degree of nilpotency. Using these results, we find that the degrees of Hecke nilpotency in spaces $M_k$ have no limiting distribution as $k \rightarrow \infty$. As an application, we study the parity of the partition function using Hecke nilpotency.
Let $η>0$ be a fixed positive number, let $N$ be a sufficiently large number. In this paper, we study the second moment of the sum of Hecke eigenvalues over primes in short intervals (whose length is $η\log N$) on average (with some weights) over the family of weight $k$ holomorphic Hecke cusp forms. We also generalize the above result to Hecke-Maass cusp forms for $SL(2,\mathbb{Z})$ and $SL(3,\mathbb{Z}).$ By applying the Hardy-Littlewood prime 2-tuples conjecture, we calculate the exact values of the mean values.
Let $k=\mathbb{Q}(\sqrt{-3})$, and let $c\in \mathfrak{O}_k$ be a square free algebraic integer such that $c\equiv 1~({\rm mod}~{\langle9\rangle})$. Let $ζ_{k(c^{1/3})}(s)$ be the Dedekind zeta function of the cubic field $k(c^{1/3})$ and $ζ_k(s)$ be the Dedekind zeta function of $k$. For fixed real $σ>1/2$, we obtain asymptotic distribution functions $F_σ$ for the values of the logarithm and the logarithmic derivative of the Artin $L$-functions \begin{equation*} L_c(σ)= \frac{ζ_{k(c^{1/3})}(σ)}{ζ_k(σ)}, \end{equation*} as $c$ varies. Moreover, we express the characteristic function of $F_σ$ e…
In this article, we derive a sub convexity estimate of Hecke eigen cusp forms associated to certain cocompact arithmetic subgroups of SL(2,R). The main result can be considered as the holomorphic version of the estimate of Hecke eigen Maass forms, derived in a famous paper of Iwaniec and Sarnak. A stronger estimate was derived by Khayutin and Steiner in arXiv:2009.07194. However, techniques used in both the papers are very different.
