This note extends some results of a previous paper (math.RT/0403250) about finite dimensional representations of the wreath product symplectic reflection algebra H(k,c,N,G) of rank N attached to a finite subgroup G of SL(2,C) (here k is a number and c a class function on the set of nontrivial elements of G). Specifically, let N'=(N_1,...,N_r) be a partition of N. Consider W=W_1\otimes >...\otimes W_r an irreducible representation of S_N'=S_{N_1}\times ...\times S_{N_r}\subset S_N s.t. W_i has rectangular Young diagram for any i and let {Y_i}, i=1,...,r be a collection of irreducible non isomorphic representation of the rank 1 algebra B=H(c_0,1,G) s.t. Ext^1_B(Y_i, Y_j)=0 for any i\neq j. Consider the module M'=W\otimes Y, where Y=Y_1^{N_1}\otimes ...\otimes Y_r^{N_r}, over the subalgebra S_N'#B^N \subset S_N#B^N= H(0,c_0,N,G) and form the induced module M over H(0,c_0,N,G). We show that M can be uniquely deformed along a linear subspace of codimension r in the space of the parameters (k,c) passing through c_0. This result implies the main result of math.RT/0403250 as a particular case, the case of the trivial partition N'=(N).
We introduce "continuous deformed preprojective algebras" attached to infinite affine Dynkin quivers of type A_{\infty}, A_{+\infty}, D_{\infty}. We define a one-parameter family of deformations of the wreath product of a symmetric group with these algebras and, using the generalized McKay correspondence for infinite reductive subgroups of SL(2,C), we establish a Morita equivalence to a corresponding continuous symplectic reflection algebra of wreath product type. We give applications of this Morita equivalence to the representation theory of continuous wreath product symplectic reflection alg…
We construct reflection functors on categories of modules over deformed wreath products of the preprojective algebra of a quiver. These functors give equivalences of categories associated to generic parameters which are in the same orbit under the Weyl group action. We give applications to the representation theory of symplectic reflection algebras of wreath product groups.
The main result of the paper is a natural construction of the spherical subalgebra in a symplectic reflection algebra associated with a wreath-product in terms of quantum hamiltonian reduction of an algebra of differential operators on a representation space of an extended Dynkin quiver. The existence of such a construction has been conjectured in [EG]. We also present a new approach to reflection functors and shift functors for generalized preprojective algebras and symplectic reflection algebras associated with wreath-products.
We determine the PBW deformations of the wreath product of a symmetric group with a deformed preprojective algebra of an affine Dynkin quiver. In particular, we show that there is precisely one parameter which does not come from deformation of the preprojective algebra. We prove that the PBW deformation is Morita equivalent to a corresponding symplectic reflection algebra for wreath product.
Let G be a finite subgroup of SL(2,C). Let S_N#G^N be the wreath product of G by the symmetric group of degree N, acting symplectically on a complex vector space V of dimension 2N, with symplectic basis {x_i, y_i} i=1,...,N. In this paper we classify all the irreducible representations of S_N#G^N that can be extended to a representation of the associated symplectic reflection algebra H(k,c,N,G) (where k is a complex number and c a class function on the non-trivial elements of G) for non-zero values of k and with trivial action of the generators x_i,y_i\in H(k,c,N,G).
In this paper we construct finite dimensional representations of the wreath product symplectic reflection algebra H(k,c,N,G) of rank N attached to a finite subgroup G of SL(2,C) (here k is a number and c a class function on the set of nontrivial elements of G). Specifically, we show that if W is an irreducible representation of S_N whose Young diagram is a rectangle, and Y an irreduible finite dimensional representation of H(c,1,G), then the representation M=W\otimes Y^N of H(0,c_0,N,G) can be deformed along a hyperplane in the space of parameters (k,c) passing through c_0. On the other hand, …
In [F. Caselli, Involutory reflection groups and their models, J. Algebra 24 (2010), 370--393] it is constructed a uniform Gelfand model for all non-exceptional irreducible complex reflection groups which are involutory. This model can be naturally decomposed into the direct sum of submodules indexed by symmetric conjugacy classes, and in this paper we present a simple combinatorial description of the irreducible decomposition of these submodules if the group is the wreath product of a cyclic group with a symmetric group. This is attained by showing that such decomposition is compatible with t…
To a finite group G one can associate a tower of wreath products S_n[G]. It is well known that the graded direct sum of the Grothendieck groups of the categories of finite dimensional complex representations of these groups can be given the structure of a graded Hopf algebra, and in fact a positive self-adjoint Hopf algebra in the sense of Zelevinsky [1], using the induction product and restriction coproduct. This paper introduces and explores an analogously defined algebra/coalgebra structure associated to a more general class of towers of groups, obtained as a certain family of subgroups of …
For a finite group G one may consider the associated tower S_n[G] of wreath product groups. Zelevinsky associates to such a tower a positive self-adjoint Hopf algebra (PSH-algebra) R(G) as the infinite direct sum of the Grothendieck groups of the categories of complex representations of these groups. In this paper, we study the interaction via induction and restriction of the PSH-algebras R(G) and R(H) for subgroups H of G. A class of Hopf modules over PSH-algebras with a compatibility between the comultiplication and multiplication involving the Hopf k^{th}-power map arise naturally and are s…
We give an equivalence of triangulated categories between the derived category of finitely generated representations of symplectic reflection algebras associated with wreath products (with parameter t=0) and the derived category of coherent sheaves on a crepant resolution of the spectrum of the centre of these algebras.
Let $W$ be a complex reflection group. We formulate a conjecture relating blocks of the corresponding restricted rational Cherednik algebras and Rouquier families for cyclotomic Hecke algebras. We verify the conjecture in the case that $W$ is a wreath product of a symmetric group with a cyclic group of order $l$.
In this paper we study the structure of completions of symplectic reflection algebras. Our results provides a reduction to smaller algebras. We apply this reduction to the study of two-sided ideals and Harish-Chandra bimodules.
The current article is a short survey on the theory of Hecke algebras, and in particular Kazhdan-Lusztig theory, and on the theory of symplectic reflection algebras, and in particular rational Cherednik algebras. The emphasis is on the connections between Hecke algebras and rational Cherednik algebras that could allow us to obtain a generalised Kazhdan-Lusztig theory, or at least its applications, for all complex reflection groups.
These lecture notes are based on an introductory course given by the author at the summer school "Noncommutative Algebraic Geometry" at MSRI in June 2012. The emphasis throughout is on examples to illustrate the many different facets of symplectic reflection algebras. Exercises are included at the end of each lecture in order for the student to get a better feel for these algebras.
We give a new proof and an improvement of two Theorems of J. Alev, M.A. Farinati, T. Lambre and A.L. Solotar : the first one about Hochschild cohomology spaces of some twisted bimodules of the Weyl algebra W and the second one about Hochschild cohomology spaces of the smash product G * W (G a finite subgroup of SP(2n)), and as an application, we then give a new proof of a Theorem of P. Etingof and V. Ginzburg, which shows that the Symplectic Reflection Algebras are deformations of G * W (and, in fact, all possible ones).
We define uniformly the notions of Dirac operators and Dirac cohomology in the framework of the Hecke algebras introduced by Drinfeld. We generalize in this way the Dirac cohomology theory for Lusztig's graded affine Hecke algebras. We apply these constructions to the case of symplectic reflection algebras defined by Etingof-Ginzburg, particularly to rational Cherednik algebras for real or complex reflection groups with parameters t,c. As applications, we give criteria for unitarity of modules in category O and we show that the 0-fiber of the Calogero-Moser space admits a description in terms …
We investigate the Poisson geometry of the Marsden-Weinstein reductions of the moment map associated to the cotangent bundle of the space of representations of a quiver. We show that the stratification by representation type equals the stratification by symplectic leaves. The deformed symplectic quotient singularities - spectra of centres of symplectic reflection algebras associated to a wreath product - are shown to be isomorphic to reductions of a certain quiver. This establishes a method to calculate when these deformations are smooth. Furthermore, the isomorphism identifies symplectic leav…
Using combinatorial properties of complex reflection groups, we show that the generalised Calogero-Moser space associated to the centre of the corresponding rational Cherednik algebra is singular for all values of its deformation parameter c if and only if the group is different from the wreath product $S_n\wr C_m$ and the binary tetrahedral group. This result and a theorem of Ginzburg and Kaledin imply that there does not exist a symplectic resolution of the singular symplectic variety h+h*/W outside of these cases; conversely we show that there exists a symplectic resolution for the binary t…
In this survey we describe an interplay between Procesi bundles on symplectic resolutions of quotient singularities and Symplectic reflection algebras. Procesi bundles were constructed by Haiman and, in a greater generality, by Bezrukavnikov and Kaledin. Symplectic reflection algebras are deformations of skew-group algebras defined in complete generality by Etingof and Ginzburg. We construct and classify Procesi bundles, prove an isomorphism between spherical Symplectic reflection algebras, give a proof of wreath Macdonald positivity and of localization theorems for cyclotomic Rational Cheredn…
In this paper we introduce the notion of twisted symplectic reflection algebras and describe the category of representations of such an algebra associated to a non-faithful G-action in terms of those for faithful actions of G.
It is shown that $A:=H_{1,η}(G)$, the Sympectic Reflection Algebra, has $T_G$ independent traces, where $T_G$ is the number of conjugacy classes of elements without eigenvalue 1 belonging to the finite group $G$ generated by the system of symplectic reflections. Simultaneously, we show that the algebra $A$, considered as a superalgebra with a natural parity, has $S_G$ independent supertraces, where $S_G$ is the number of conjugacy classes of elements without eigenvalue -1 belonging to $G$. We consider also $A$ as a Lie algebra $A^L$ and as a Lie superalgebra $A^S$. It is shown that if $A$ is a…
Using Cohen's classification of symplectic reflection groups, we prove that the parabolic subgroups, that is, stabilizer subgroups, of a finite symplectic reflection group are themselves symplectic reflection groups. This is the symplectic analogue of Steinberg's Theorem for complex reflection groups. Using computational results required in the proof, we show the non-existence of symplectic resolutions for symplectic quotient singularities corresponding to three exceptional symplectic reflection groups, thus reducing further the number of cases for which the existence question remains open. An…
We construct functorially a class of algebras using the formalism of double derivations. These algebras extend to higher dimensions Crawley-Boevey and Holland's construction of deformed preprojective algebras and encompass symplectic reflection algebras associated to wreath products. We use this construction to show that the quotient field of a symplectic reflection algebra is "rational", confirming a pair of conjectures of Etingof and Ginzburg.
In this paper we study derived equivalences for Symplectic reflection algebras. We establish a version of the derived localization theorem between categories of modules over Symplectic reflection algebras and categories of coherent sheaves over quantizations of Q-factorial terminalizations of the symplectic quotient singularities. To do this we construct a Procesi sheaf on the terminalization and show that the quantizations of the terminalization are simple sheaves of algebras. We will also sketch some applications: to the generalized Bernstein inequality and to perversity of wall crossing fun…
Basic properties of symplectic reflection algebras over an algebraically closed field k of positive characteristic are laid out. These algebras are always finite modules over their centres, in contrast to the situation in characteristic 0. For the subclass of rational Cherednik algebras, we determine the PI-degree and the Goldie rank, and show that the Azumaya and smooth loci of the centre coincide.
We study the existence of symplectic resolutions of quotient singularities V/G where V is a symplectic vector space and G acts symplectically. Namely, we classify the symplectically irreducible and imprimitive groups, excluding those of the form $K \rtimes S_2$ where $K < \SL_2(\C)$, for which the corresponding quotient singularity admits a projective symplectic resolution. As a consequence, for $\dim V \neq 4$, we classify all quotient singularities $V/G$ admitting a projective symplectic resolution which do not decompose as a product of smaller-dimensional quotient singularities, except for …
The goal of this paper is to present some results and (more importantly) state a number of conjectures suggesting that the representation theory of symplectic reflection algebras for wreath products categorifies certain structures in the representation theory of affine Lie algebras (namely, decompositions of the restriction of the basic representation to finite dimensional and affine subalgebras). These conjectures arose from the insight due to R. Bezrukavnikov and A. Okounkov on the link between quantum connections for Hilbert schemes of resolutions of Kleinian singularities and representatio…
We survey recent results on the representation theory of symplectic reflection algebras, focusing particularly on connections with symplectic quotient singularities and their resolutions, spaces of representations of quivers, and on category O.
We propose a construction of the spherical subalgebra of a symplectic reflection algebra of an arbitrary rank corresponding to a star-shaped affine Dynkin diagram. Namely, it is obtained from the universal enveloping algebra of a certain semi-simple Lie algebra by the process of quantum Hamiltonian reduction. As an application, we propose a construction of finite-dimensional representations of the spherical subalgebra.
We introduce a new class of algebras called Poisson orders. This class includes the symplectic reflection algebras of Etingof and Ginzburg, many quantum groups at roots of unity, and enveloping algebras of restricted Lie algebras in positive characteristic. Quite generally, we study this class of algebras from the point of view of Poisson geometry, exhibiting connections between their representation theory and some well-known geometric constructions. As an application, we employ our results in the study of symplectic reflection algebras, completing work of Etingof and Ginzburg on when these al…
We study the complex reflection groups G(r,p,n). By considering these groups as subgroups of the wreath products Z_r wr S_n, and by using Clifford theory, we define combinatorial parameters and descent representations of G(r,p,n), previously known for classical Weyl groups. One of these parameters is the flag major index, which also has an important role in the decomposition of these representations into irreducibles. A Carlitz type identity relating the combinatorial parameters with the degrees of the group, is presented.
Symplectic reflection algebras arise in many different mathematical disciplines: integrable systems, Lie theory, representation theory, differential operators, symplectic geometry. In this paper, we introduce baby Verma modules for symplectic reflection algebras of complex reflection groups at parameter t=0 (the so--called rational Cherednik algebras at parameter t=0) and present their most basic properties. By analogy with the representation theory of reductive Lie algebras in positive characteristic, we believe these modules are fundamental to the understanding of the representation theory a…
Symplectic reflection algebra $ H_{1, \,ν}(G)$ has a $T(G)$-dimensional space of traces whereas, when considered as a superalgebra with a natural parity, it has an $S(G)$-dimensional space of supertraces. The values of $T(G)$ and $S(G)$ depend on the symplectic reflection group $G$ and do not depend on the parameter $ν$. In this paper, the values $T(G)$ and $S(G)$ are explicitly calculated for the groups $G= Γ\wr S_N$, where $Γ$ is a finite subgroup of $Sp(2,\mathbb C)$.
We show that the quotient C^4/G admits a symplectic resolution for G = (Q_8 x D_8)/(Z/2) < Sp(4,C). Here Q_8 is the quaternionic group of order eight and D_8 is the dihedral group of order eight, and G is the quotient of their direct product which identifies the nontrivial central elements -1 of each. It is equipped with the tensor product of the defining two-dimensional representations of Q_8 and D_8. This group is also naturally a subgroup of the wreath product group of Q_8 by S_2. We compute the singular locus of the family of commutative spherical symplectic reflection algebras deforming C…
We investigate PBW deformations H of k[x,y]#G where G is the cyclic group of order p and k also has characteristic p; in these deformations, [x,y] takes a value in kG. These algebras are versions of symplectic reflection algebras that only exist in positive characteristic. They also happen to possess a presentation as an Ore extension over a commutative subring R, and via the derivation defining the extension, have interesting connections to certain polynomials appearing in combinatorics and related to alternating permutations (the André polynomials). We find the center of these algebras, thei…
We compute the number of finite dimensional irreducible modules for the algebras quantizing Nakajima quiver varieties. We get a lower bound for all quivers and vectors of framing and provide an exact count in the case when the quiver is of finite type or is of affine type and the framing is the coordinate vector at the extending vertex. The latter case precisely covers Etingof's conjecture on the number of finite dimensional irreducible representations for Symplectic reflection algebras associated to wreath-product groups. We use several different techniques, the two principal ones are categor…
In this paper, we consider the set of r-symbols in a full generality. We construct Hall-Littlewood functions and Kostka functions associated to those r-symbols. We also discuss a multi-parameter version of those functions. We show that there exists a general algorithm of computing multi-parameter Kostka functions. As an application, we show that the generalized Green functions of symplectic groups can be described combinatorially in terms of those (one-parameter) Kostka functions.
In this paper we prove the existence of isomorphisms between certain non-commutative algebras that are interesting from representation theoretic perspective and arise as quantizations of certain Poisson algebras. We show that quantizations of Kleinian resolutions obtained by three different constructions are isomorphic to each other. The constructions are via symplectic reflection algebras, quantum Hamiltonian reduction, and W-algebras. Next, we prove that parabolic W-algebras in type A are isomorphic to quantum Hamiltonian reductions associated to quivers of type A. Finally, we show that the …
For each complex number $ν$, an associative symplectic reflection algebra $\mathcal H:= H_{1,ν}(I_2(2m+1))$, based on the group generated by root system $I_2(2m+1)$, has an $m$-dimensional space of traces and an $(m+1)$-dimensional space of supertraces. A (super)trace $sp$ is said to be degenerate if the corresponding bilinear (super)symmetric form $B_{sp}(x,y)=sp(xy)$ is degenerate. We find all values of the parameter $ν$ for which either the space of traces contains a degenerate nonzero trace or the space of supertraces contains a degenerate nonzero supertrace and, as a consequence, the alge…
In this paper we show that the Poisson analogue of the Noether's Problem has a positive solution for essentially all finite symplectic reflection groups - the analogue of complex reflection groups in the symplectic world. Our proofs are constructive, and generalize and refines previously known results. As an interesting consequence of the solution of this problem for complex reflection groups, we obtain the Poisson rationality of the Calogero-Moser spaces associated to any complex reflection group. The results of this paper can be thought as analogues of the Noncommutative Noether Problem and …
To any finite group G of automorphisms of a symplectic vector space V we associate a new multi-parameter deformation, H_k, of the smash product of G with the polynomial algebra on V. The algebra H_k, called a symplectic reflection algebra, is related to the coordinate ring of a universal Poisson deformation of the quotient singularity V/G. If G is the Weyl group of a root system in a vector space h and V=h\oplus h^*, then the algebras H_k are `rational' degenerations of Cherednik's double affine Hecke algebra. Let G=S_n, the Weyl group of g=gl_n. We construct a 1-parameter deformation of the H…
Given a quiver, a fixed dimension vector, and a positive integer n, we construct a functor from the category of D-modules on the space of representations of the quiver to the category of modules over a corresponding Gan-Ginzburg algebra of rank n. When the quiver is affine Dynkin we obtain an explicit construction of representations of the corresponding wreath-product symplectic reflection algebra of rank n. When the quiver is star-shaped, but not finite Dynkin, we use this functor to obtain a Lie theoretic construction of representations of a "spherical" subalgebra of the Gan-Ginzburg algebra…
We study the symplectic leaves of the subvariety of fixed points of an automorphism of a Calogero-Moser space induced by an element of finite order of the normalizer of the associated complex reflection group $W$. We give a parametrization {\it à la Harish-Chandra} of its symplectic leaves (generalizing earlier works of Bellamy and Losev). This result is inspired by the mysterious relations between the geometry of Calogero-Moser spaces and unipotent representations of finite reductive groups, which will be the theme of a forthcoming paper.
Let V be an 2n-dimensional vector space over an algebraically closed field of odd characteristic. Let G = GL(V), and H = Sp(V) the symplectic group contained in G. For a positive integer r > 1, we conisder the variety X = G/H \times V^{r-1}, on which H acts diagonally. X is called the exotic symmetric space of level r. Let W_{n,r} be the complex reflection group G(r,1,n). In this paper, generalizing the result for the case where r = 2, we show that there exists a natural bijective correspondence (Springer correspondence) between the set of irreducible representations of W_{n,r} and a certain s…
We study the representation theory of a generalized graded Hecke algebra associated to a complex reflection group of type G(r,1,n), defined by Ram and Shepler. We use a realization of this algebra in the corresponding symplectic reflection algebra to prove a PBW theorem. We define principal series modules and prove an irreducibility criterion for them.
The algebra $\mathcal H:= H_{1,ν}(I_2(2m+1))$ of observables of the Calogero model based on the root system $I_2(2m+1)$ has an $m$-dimensional space of traces and an $(m+1)$-dimensional space of supertraces. In the preceding paper we found all values of the parameter $ν$ for which either the space of traces contains a~degenerate nonzero trace $tr_ν$ or the space of supertraces contains a~degenerate nonzero supertrace $str_ν$ and, as a~consequence, the algebra $\mathcal H$ has two-sided ideals: one consisting of all vectors in the kernel of the form $B_{tr_ν}(x,y)=tr_ν(xy)$ or another consistin…
We study the hyperplane arrangements associated, via the minimal model programme, to symplectic quotient singularities. We show that this hyperplane arrangement equals the arrangement of CM-hyperplanes coming from the representation theory of restricted rational Cherednik algebras. We explain some of the interesting consequences of this identification for the representation theory of restricted rational Cherednik algebras. We also show that the Calogero-Moser space is smooth if and only if the Calogero-Moser families are trivial. We describe the arrangements of CM-hyperplanes associated to sev…
We derive a formula for the entries in the change-of-basis matrix between Young's seminormal and natural representations of the symmetric group. These entries are determined as sums over weighted paths in the weak Bruhat graph on standard tableaux, and we show that they can be computed recursively as the weighted sum of at most two previously-computed entries in the matrix. We generalize our results to work for affine Hecke algebras, Ariki-Koike algebras, Iwahori-Hecke algebras, and complex reflection groups given by the wreath product of a finite cyclic group with the symmetric group.
P. Deligne defined interpolations of the tensor category of representations of the symmetric group S_n to complex values of n. Namely, he defined tensor categories Rep(S_t) for any complex t. This construction was generalized by F. Knop to the case of wreath products of S_n with a finite group. Generalizing these results, we propose a method of interpolating representations categories of various algebras containing S_n (such as degenerate affine Hecke algebras, symplectic reflection algebras, rational Cherednik algebras, etc.) to complex values of n. We also define the group algebra of S_n for…
We study subsets in possibly degenerate symplectic vector spaces over finite fields, which are stable under a given Coxeter/Weyl reflection group. These symplectic root systems provide crucial combinatorical data to classify finite-dimensional Nichols algebras for nilpotent groups G over the complex numbers [Len13a], where the symplectic form is given by the group's commutator map. For example, the degree of degeneracy of the symplectic root system determines the size of the center of G. In this article we classify symplectic root systems over the finite field F_2, where symplectic just means …
We classify filtered quantizations of conical symplectic singularities and use this to show that all filtered quantizations of symplectic quotient singularities are spherical Symplectic reflection algebras of Etingof and Ginzburg. We further apply our classification and a classification of filtered Poisson deformations obtained by Namikawa to establish a version of the Orbit method for semisimple Lie algebras. Namely, we produce a natural map from the set of adjoint orbits in a semisimple Lie algebra to the set of primitive ideals in the universal enveloping algebra. We show that the map is in…
We prove a general statement which implies the coincidence of the Azumaya and smooth loci of the center of an algebra in positive characteristic, provided that the spectrum of its associated graded algebra has a large symplectic leaf. In particular, we show that for a symplectic reflection algebra smooth and the Azumaya loci coincide.
We investigate the structure constants of the center $\mathcal{H}_n$ of the group algebra $Sp_{n}(q)$ over a finite field. The reflection length on the group $GL_{2n}(q)$ induces a filtration on the algebras $\mathcal{H}_n$. We prove that the structure constants of the associated filtered algebra $\mathcal{S}_n$ are independent of $n$. As a technical tool in the proof, we determine the growth of the centralizers under the embedding $Sp_m(q)\subset Sp_{m+l}(q)$ and we show that the index of the centralizer of $g\in Sp_m(q)$ in the centralizer of $g\in Sp_{m+k}$ is equal to $q^{2ld}|Sp_{r+l}(q)|…
