We introduce "continuous deformed preprojective algebras" attached to infinite affine Dynkin quivers of type A_{\infty}, A_{+\infty}, D_{\infty}. We define a one-parameter family of deformations of the wreath product of a symmetric group with these algebras and, using the generalized McKay correspondence for infinite reductive subgroups of SL(2,C), we establish a Morita equivalence to a corresponding continuous symplectic reflection algebra of wreath product type. We give applications of this Morita equivalence to the representation theory of continuous wreath product symplectic reflection algebras. In particular, we use Crawley-Boevey and Holland's results about the representation theory of deformed preprojective algebras to get a complete classification of the finite dimensional irreducible representations for the rank one continuous wreath product symplectic reflection algebras. In higher rank, we extend Gan's definition of the reflection functors to the continuous case and we use such functors to find an interesting class of finite dimensional representations.
We construct reflection functors on categories of modules over deformed wreath products of the preprojective algebra of a quiver. These functors give equivalences of categories associated to generic parameters which are in the same orbit under the Weyl group action. We give applications to the representation theory of symplectic reflection algebras of wreath product groups.
The main result of the paper is a natural construction of the spherical subalgebra in a symplectic reflection algebra associated with a wreath-product in terms of quantum hamiltonian reduction of an algebra of differential operators on a representation space of an extended Dynkin quiver. The existence of such a construction has been conjectured in [EG]. We also present a new approach to reflection functors and shift functors for generalized preprojective algebras and symplectic reflection algebras associated with wreath-products.
We determine the PBW deformations of the wreath product of a symmetric group with a deformed preprojective algebra of an affine Dynkin quiver. In particular, we show that there is precisely one parameter which does not come from deformation of the preprojective algebra. We prove that the PBW deformation is Morita equivalent to a corresponding symplectic reflection algebra for wreath product.
Let G be a finite subgroup of SL(2,C). Let S_N#G^N be the wreath product of G by the symmetric group of degree N, acting symplectically on a complex vector space V of dimension 2N, with symplectic basis {x_i, y_i} i=1,...,N. In this paper we classify all the irreducible representations of S_N#G^N that can be extended to a representation of the associated symplectic reflection algebra H(k,c,N,G) (where k is a complex number and c a class function on the non-trivial elements of G) for non-zero values of k and with trivial action of the generators x_i,y_i\in H(k,c,N,G).
This note extends some results of a previous paper (math.RT/0403250) about finite dimensional representations of the wreath product symplectic reflection algebra H(k,c,N,G) of rank N attached to a finite subgroup G of SL(2,C) (here k is a number and c a class function on the set of nontrivial elements of G). Specifically, let N'=(N_1,...,N_r) be a partition of N. Consider W=W_1\otimes >...\otimes W_r an irreducible representation of S_N'=S_{N_1}\times ...\times S_{N_r}\subset S_N s.t. W_i has rectangular Young diagram for any i and let {Y_i}, i=1,...,r be a collection of irreducible non isomor…
In this paper we construct finite dimensional representations of the wreath product symplectic reflection algebra H(k,c,N,G) of rank N attached to a finite subgroup G of SL(2,C) (here k is a number and c a class function on the set of nontrivial elements of G). Specifically, we show that if W is an irreducible representation of S_N whose Young diagram is a rectangle, and Y an irreduible finite dimensional representation of H(c,1,G), then the representation M=W\otimes Y^N of H(0,c_0,N,G) can be deformed along a hyperplane in the space of parameters (k,c) passing through c_0. On the other hand, …
Let $\mathbb{C}\mathsf{A}_n = \mathbb{C}[S_2\wr S_2 \wr\cdots \wr S_2]$ be the group algebra of $n$-step iterated wreath product. We prove some structural properties of $\mathsf{A}_n$ such as their centers, centralizers, right and double cosets. We apply these results to explicitly write down Mackey theorem for groups $\mathsf{A}_n$ and give a partial description of the natural transformations between induction and restriction functors on the representations of the iterated wreath product tower by computing certain hom spaces of the category of $\displaystyle \bigoplus_{m\geq 0}(\mathsf{A}_m, …
For an arbitrary commutative ring k and t in k, we construct a 2-functor S_t which sends a tensor category to a new tensor category. By applying it to the representation category of a bialgebra we obtain a family of categories which interpolates the representation categories of the wreath products of the bialgebra. This generalizes the construction of Deligne's category Rep(S_t,k) for representation categories of symmetric groups.
We give an equivalence of triangulated categories between the derived category of finitely generated representations of symplectic reflection algebras associated with wreath products (with parameter t=0) and the derived category of coherent sheaves on a crepant resolution of the spectrum of the centre of these algebras.
In this paper we study categories O over quantizations of symplectic resolutions admitting Hamiltonian tori actions with finitely many fixed points. In this generality, these categories were introduced by Braden, Licata, Proudfoot and Webster. We establish a family of standardly stratified structures (in the sense of the author and Webster) on these categories O. We use these structures to study shuffling functors of Braden, Licata, Proudfoot and Webster (called cross-walling functors in this paper). Most importantly, we prove that all cross-walling functors are derived equivalences that defin…
In this paper we study wall-crossing functors between categories of modules over quantizations of symplectic resolutions. We prove that wall-crossing functors through faces are perverse equivalences and use this to verify an Etingof type conjecture for quantizations of Nakajima quiver varieties associated to affine quivers. In the case when there is a Hamiltonian torus action on the resolution with finitely many fixed points so that it makes sense to speak about categories $\mathcal{O}$ over quantizations, we introduce new standardly stratified structures on these categories $\mathcal{O}$ and …
Given a quiver, a fixed dimension vector, and a positive integer n, we construct a functor from the category of D-modules on the space of representations of the quiver to the category of modules over a corresponding Gan-Ginzburg algebra of rank n. When the quiver is affine Dynkin we obtain an explicit construction of representations of the corresponding wreath-product symplectic reflection algebra of rank n. When the quiver is star-shaped, but not finite Dynkin, we use this functor to obtain a Lie theoretic construction of representations of a "spherical" subalgebra of the Gan-Ginzburg algebra…
We investigate the Poisson geometry of the Marsden-Weinstein reductions of the moment map associated to the cotangent bundle of the space of representations of a quiver. We show that the stratification by representation type equals the stratification by symplectic leaves. The deformed symplectic quotient singularities - spectra of centres of symplectic reflection algebras associated to a wreath product - are shown to be isomorphic to reductions of a certain quiver. This establishes a method to calculate when these deformations are smooth. Furthermore, the isomorphism identifies symplectic leav…
Using combinatorial properties of complex reflection groups, we show that the generalised Calogero-Moser space associated to the centre of the corresponding rational Cherednik algebra is singular for all values of its deformation parameter c if and only if the group is different from the wreath product $S_n\wr C_m$ and the binary tetrahedral group. This result and a theorem of Ginzburg and Kaledin imply that there does not exist a symplectic resolution of the singular symplectic variety h+h*/W outside of these cases; conversely we show that there exists a symplectic resolution for the binary t…
In this survey we describe an interplay between Procesi bundles on symplectic resolutions of quotient singularities and Symplectic reflection algebras. Procesi bundles were constructed by Haiman and, in a greater generality, by Bezrukavnikov and Kaledin. Symplectic reflection algebras are deformations of skew-group algebras defined in complete generality by Etingof and Ginzburg. We construct and classify Procesi bundles, prove an isomorphism between spherical Symplectic reflection algebras, give a proof of wreath Macdonald positivity and of localization theorems for cyclotomic Rational Cheredn…
The wreath product W(r,n) of the cyclic group of order r and the symmetric group S_n acts on the corresponding projective hyperplane complement, and on its wonderful compactification as defined by De Concini and Procesi. We give a formula for the characters of the representations of W(r,n) on the cohomology groups of this compactification, extending the result of Ginzburg and Kapranov in the r=1 case. As a corollary, we get a formula for the Betti numbers which generalizes the result of Yuzvinsky in the r=2 case. Our method involves applying to the nested-set stratification a generalization of…
We construct functorially a class of algebras using the formalism of double derivations. These algebras extend to higher dimensions Crawley-Boevey and Holland's construction of deformed preprojective algebras and encompass symplectic reflection algebras associated to wreath products. We use this construction to show that the quotient field of a symplectic reflection algebra is "rational", confirming a pair of conjectures of Etingof and Ginzburg.
The recollement approach to the representation theory of sequences of algebras is extended to pass basis information directly through the globalisation functor. The method is hence adapted to treat sequences that are not necessarily towers by inclusion, such as symplectic blob algebras (diagram algebra quotients of the type-$\hati{C}$ Hecke algebras). By carefully reviewing the diagram algebra construction, we find a new set of functors interrelating module categories of ordinary blob algebras (diagram algebra quotients of the type-${B}$ Hecke algebras) at {\em different} values of the algebra…
The goal of this paper is to present some results and (more importantly) state a number of conjectures suggesting that the representation theory of symplectic reflection algebras for wreath products categorifies certain structures in the representation theory of affine Lie algebras (namely, decompositions of the restriction of the basic representation to finite dimensional and affine subalgebras). These conjectures arose from the insight due to R. Bezrukavnikov and A. Okounkov on the link between quantum connections for Hilbert schemes of resolutions of Kleinian singularities and representatio…
The goal of this paper is to establish Beilinson-Bernstein type localization theorems for quantizations of some conical symplectic resolutions. We prove the full localization theorems for finite and affine type A Nakajima quiver varieties. The proof is based on two partial results that hold in more general situations. First, we establish an exactness result for global section functor if there is a tilting generator that has a rank 1 summand. Second, we examine when the global section functor restricts to an equivalence between categories $\mathcal{O}$.
Let $π$ be a simple supercuspidal representation of the symplectic group $Sp_{2l}(F)$, over a $p$-adic field $F$. In this work, we explicitly compute the Rankin-Selberg $γ$-factor of rank-$1$ twists of $π$. We then completely determine the Langlands parameter of $π$, if $p \neq 2$. In the case that $F = \mathbb{Q}_2$, we give a conjectural description of the functorial lift of $π$, with which, using a recent work of Bushnell and Henniart, one can obtain its Langlands parameter.
In this expository note, we explain the so-called Van den Bergh functor, which enables the formalization of the Kontsevich-Rosenberg principle, whereby a structure on an associative algebra has geometric meaning if it induces standard geometric structures on its representation spaces. Crawley-Boevey, Etingof and Ginzburg proved that bi-symplectic forms satisfy this principle; this implies that bi-symplectic algebras can be regarded as noncommutative symplectic manifolds. In this note, we use the Van den Bergh functor to give an alternative proof.
We show that the quotient C^4/G admits a symplectic resolution for G = (Q_8 x D_8)/(Z/2) < Sp(4,C). Here Q_8 is the quaternionic group of order eight and D_8 is the dihedral group of order eight, and G is the quotient of their direct product which identifies the nontrivial central elements -1 of each. It is equipped with the tensor product of the defining two-dimensional representations of Q_8 and D_8. This group is also naturally a subgroup of the wreath product group of Q_8 by S_2. We compute the singular locus of the family of commutative spherical symplectic reflection algebras deforming C…
Let W be a smooth complex quasiprojective variety with the action of a connected reductive group G. Adapting the stratification approach of Teleman to a microlocal context, we prove a vanishing theorem for the functor of G-invariant sections---i.e., of quantum Hamiltonian reduction---for G-equivariant twisted D-modules on W. As a consequence, when W is affine we establish an effective combinatorial criterion for exactness of the global sections functors of microlocalization theory. When combined with our earlier derived equivalence results, this gives precise criteria for "microlocalization of…
Harish-Chandra induction and restriction functors play a key role in the representation theory of reductive groups over finite fields. In this paper, extending earlier work of Dat, we introduce and study generalisations of these functors which apply to a wide range of finite and profinite groups, typical examples being compact open subgroups of reductive groups over non-archimedean local fields. We prove that these generalisations are compatible with two of the tools commonly used to study the (smooth, complex) representations of such groups, namely Clifford theory and the orbit method. As a t…
In this paper we study derived equivalences for Symplectic reflection algebras. We establish a version of the derived localization theorem between categories of modules over Symplectic reflection algebras and categories of coherent sheaves over quantizations of Q-factorial terminalizations of the symplectic quotient singularities. To do this we construct a Procesi sheaf on the terminalization and show that the quantizations of the terminalization are simple sheaves of algebras. We will also sketch some applications: to the generalized Bernstein inequality and to perversity of wall crossing fun…
In this paper we prove the existence of isomorphisms between certain non-commutative algebras that are interesting from representation theoretic perspective and arise as quantizations of certain Poisson algebras. We show that quantizations of Kleinian resolutions obtained by three different constructions are isomorphic to each other. The constructions are via symplectic reflection algebras, quantum Hamiltonian reduction, and W-algebras. Next, we prove that parabolic W-algebras in type A are isomorphic to quantum Hamiltonian reductions associated to quivers of type A. Finally, we show that the …
We develop a functorial theory of spinor and oscillator representations parallel to the theory of Schur functors for general linear groups. This continues our work on developing orthogonal and symplectic analogues of Schur functors. As such, there are a few main points in common. We define a category of representations of what might be thought of as the infinite rank pin and metaplectic groups, and give three models of this category in terms of: multilinear algebra, diagram categories, and twisted Lie algebras. We also define specialization functors to the finite rank groups and calculate the …
Let k be an algebraically closed field of characteristic p>0, let m,r be integers with m\ge1, r\ge0 and m\ge r and let S_0(2m,r) be the symplectic Schur algebra over k as introduced by the first author. We introduce the symplectic Schur functor, derive some basic properties of it and relate this to work of Hartmann and Paget. We do the same for the orthogonal Schur algebra. We give a modified Jantzen sum formula and a block result for the symplectic Schur algebra under the assumption that r and the residue of 2m mod p are small relative to p. From this we deduce a block result for the orthogon…
P. Deligne defined interpolations of the tensor category of representations of the symmetric group S_n to complex values of n. Namely, he defined tensor categories Rep(S_t) for any complex t. This construction was generalized by F. Knop to the case of wreath products of S_n with a finite group. Generalizing these results, we propose a method of interpolating representations categories of various algebras containing S_n (such as degenerate affine Hecke algebras, symplectic reflection algebras, rational Cherednik algebras, etc.) to complex values of n. We also define the group algebra of S_n for…
We give a functorial construction of the genus zero chiral algebras of class $\mathcal{S}$, that is, the vertex algebras corresponding to the theory of class $\mathcal{S}$ associated with genus zero pointed Riemann surfaces via the 4d/2d duality discovered by Beem, Lemos, Liendo, Peelaers, Rastelli and van Rees in physics. We show that there is a unique family of vertex algebras satisfying the required conditions and show that they are all simple and conformal. In fact, our construction works for any complex semisimple group G that is not necessarily simply laced. Furthermore, we show that the…
We re-examine some topics in representation theory of Lie algebras and Springer theory in a more general context, viewing the universal enveloping algebra as an example of the section ring of a quantization of a conical symplectic resolution. While some modification from this classical context is necessary, many familiar features survive. These include a version of the Beilinson-Bernstein localization theorem, a theory of Harish-Chandra bimodules and their relationship to convolution operators on cohomology, and a discrete group action on the derived category of representations, generalizing t…
