In this paper we give new characterizations of Riesz and conditional Riesz frames in terms of the properties of the nullspace of their synthesis operators. On the other hand, we also study the oblique dual frames whose coefficients in the reconstruction formula minimize different weighted norms.
In this paper, we introduce orthonoramal and Riesz bases for g-fusion frames and will show that the weights have basic roles. Next, we prove an effective theorem between frames and g-fusion frames by using an operator. Finally, perturbations of g-fusion frames will be presented.
In this paper we introduce concepts of disjoint, strongly disjoint and weakly disjoint continuous $g$-frames in Hilbert spaces and we get some equivalent conditions to these notions. We also construct a continuous g-frame by disjoint continuous g-frames. Furthermore, we provide some results related to the Riesz-type continuous $g$-frames.
We prove that a Hilbert space frame $\fti$ contains a Riesz basis if every subfamily $\ftj , J \subseteq I ,$ is a frame for its closed span. Secondly we give a new characterization of Banach spaces which do not have any subspace isomorphic to $c_0$. This result immediately leads to an improvement of a recent theorem of Holub concerning frames consisting of a Riesz basis plus finitely many elements.
Weaving frames have potential applications in wireless sensor networks that require distributed processing of signal under different frames. In this paper, we study some new properties of weaving generalized frames (or $g$-frames) and weaving generalized orthonormal bases (or $g$-orthonormal bases). It is shown that a $g$-frame and its dual $g$-frame are woven. The inter-relation of optimal $g$-frame bounds and optimal universal $g$-frame bounds is studied. Further, we present a characterization of weaving $g$-frames. Illustrations are given to show the difference in properties of weaving gene…
Outer product frames are important objects in Hilbert space frame theory. But very little is known about them. In this paper, we make the first detailed study of the family of outer product frames induced directly by vector sequences. We are interested in both the quantitative attributs of these outer product sequences (in particular, their Riesz and frame bounds), as well as their independence and spanning properties. We show that Riesz sequences of vectors yield Riesz sequences of outer products with the same (or better) Riesz bounds. Equiangular tight frames are shown to produce Riesz seque…
In this note a review, some considerations and new results about maps with values in a distribution space and domain in a $σ$-finite measure space $X$, are obtained. In particular, it is a survey about Bessel, frames and bases (in particular Riesz and Gel'fand bases) in a distribution space. In this setting, the Riesz-Fischer maps and semi-frames are defined and new results about them are attained. Some example in tempered distributions space are examined.
G-frames are generalized frames which include ordinary frames, bounded invertible linear operators, as well as many recent generalizations of frames, e.g., bounded quasi-projectors and frames of subspaces. G-frames are natural generalizations of frames and provide more choices on analyzing functions from frame expansion coefficients. We give characterizations of g-frames and prove that g-frames share many useful properties with frames. We also give generalized version of Riesz bases and orthonormal bases. As an application, we get atomic resolutions for bounded linear operators.
Based on the truth of Feichtinger conjecture by Marcus, Spielman and Srivastava \textit{[Ann. of Math. (2), 2015]} and from the localized version by Gröchenig \textit{[Adv. Comput. Math., 2003]}, we introduce the notion of localization of approximate Schauder frames (ASFs) and approximate Riesz sequences (ARSs). We show that localized bounded below ASFs are finite unions of ARSs.
The Feichtinger Conjecture, if true, would have as a corollary that for each set $E\subset \T$ and $Λ\subset \Z$, there is a partition $Λ_1,...,Λ_N$ of $\Z$ such that for each $1\le i \le N$, $\{\exp(2πi xλ): λ\in Λ_i\}$ is a Riesz sequence. In this paper, sufficient conditions on sets $E\subset \T$ and $Λ\subset \R$ are given so that $\{\exp(2πi xλ) 1_E: λ\in Λ\}$ can be uniformly partitioned into Riesz sequences.
In this paper, we give new characterizations of modular Riesz bases in Hilbert $C^*$-modules. We prove that modular Riesz bases share many properties with Riesz bases in Hilbert spaces. Moreover we show that there are also important differences; for example, there exist exact frames that are not modular Riesz bases.
Given a discrete group and a unitary representation on a Hilbert space $\mathcal{H}$, we prove that the notions of operator Bracket map and Gramian coincide on a dense set of $\mathcal{H}$. As a consequence, combining this result with known frame theory, we can recover in a simple way all previous Bracket characterizations of Riesz and frame sequences generated by a single element under a unitary representation.
The paper is devoted to continuous frames and Riesz bases in Hilbert C*-modules. we define a continuous Riesz basis for Hilbert C*-modules and give some results about them.
Aldroubi has shown how one can construct any frame $\gtu$ starting with one frame $\ftu $,using a bounded operator $U$ on $l^2(N)$. We study the overcompleteness of the frames in terms of properties of $U$. We also discuss perturbation of frames in the sense that two frames are ``close'' if a certain operator is compact. In this way we obtain an equivalence relation with the property that members of the same equivalence class have the same overcompleteness. On the other hand we show that perturbation in the Paley-Wiener sense does not have this property. \\ Finally we construct a frame which i…
We extend the concept of conditional supremum to the measure-free setting of Riesz spaces via the conditional expectation operator. We explore its properties and show how this tool is crucial in generalizing various results across multiple disciplines to the framework of Riesz spaces. Among other applications, we utilize this concept in finance to derive characterizations of certain financial conditions.
We study the construction of exponential frames and Riesz sequences for a class of fractal measures on ${\mathbb R}^d$ generated by infinite convolution of discrete measures using the idea of frame towers and Riesz-sequence towers. The exactness and overcompleteness of the constructed exponential frame or Riesz sequence is completely classified in terms of the cardinality at each level of the tower. Using a version of the solution of the Kadison-Singer problem, known as the $R_ε$-conjecture, we show that all these measures contain exponential Riesz sequences of infinite cardinality. Furthermor…
Controlled frames have been recently introduced in Hilbert spaces to improve the numerical efficiency of interactive algorithms for inverting the frame operator. In this paper, unlike the cross-Gram matrix of two different sequences which is not always a diagnostic tool, we define the controlled-Gram matrix of a sequence as a practical implement to diagnose that a given sequence is a controlled Bessel, frame or Riesz basis. Also, we discuss the cases that the operator associated to controlled Gram matrix will be bounded, invertible, Hilbert-Schmidt or a trace-class operator. Similar to standar…
In this paper we introduce the concept of Bochner pg-frames for Banach spaces. We characterize the Bochner pg-frames and specify the optimal bounds of a Bochner pg- frames. Then we define a Bochner qg-Riesz basis and verify the relations between Bochner pg-frames and Bochner qg-Riesz bases. Finally, we discuss the perturbation of Bochner pg-frames.
In this paper, we give some sufficient conditions under which perturbations preserve Hilbert frames and near-Riesz bases. Similar results are also extended to frame sequences, Riesz sequences and Schauder frames. It is worth mentioning that some of our perturbation conditions are quite different from those used in the previous literatures on this topic.
Concepts of g-fusion frame and gf-Riesz basis in a Hilbert to a Banach space is being presented. Some properties of g-fusion frame and gf-Riesz basis in Banach space have been developed. We discuss perturbation results of g-fusion frame in a Banach space. Finally, we construct g-p-fusion frames in Cartesian product of Banach spaces and tensor product of Banach spaces.
We characterize orthonormal bases, Riesz bases and frames which arise from the action of a countable discrete group $Γ$ on a single element $ψ$ of a given Hilbert space $\mathcal{H}$. As $Γ$ might not be abelian, this is done in terms of a bracket map taking values in the $L^1$-space associated to the group von Neumann algebra of $Γ$. Our result generalizes recent work for LCA groups. In many cases, the bracket map can be computed in terms of a noncommutative form of the Zak transform.
Inspired by the work of Hedenmalm, Lindqvist and Seip, we consider different properties of dilations systems of a fixed function $φ\in L^2(0,1)$. More precisely, we study when the system $\{φ(nx)\}_n$ is a Bessel sequence, a Riesz sequence, or it satisfies the lower frame bound. We are able to characterize these properties in terms of multipliers of the Hardy space $\mathcal{H}^2$ of Dirichtet series and, also, in terms of Hardy spaces on the infinite polytorus. We also address the multivariate case.
We give necessary and sufficient conditions for a subfamily of regularly spaced translates of a function to form a frame (resp. a Riesz basis) for its span. One consequence is that ifthetranslates are taken only from a subset of the natural numbers, then this family is a frame if and only if it is a Riesz basis. We also consider arbitrary sequences of translates and show that for sparse sets, having an upper frame bound is equivalent to the family being a frame sequence. Finally, we use the fractional Hausdorff dimension to identify classes of exact frame sequences.
The conditions for sequences $\{f_{k}\}_{k=1}^{\infty}$ and $\{g_{k}\}_{k=1}^{\infty}$ being Bessel sequences, frames or Riesz bases, can be expressed in terms of the so-called cross-Gram matrix. In this paper we investigate the cross-Gram operator, $G$, associated to the sequence $\{\langle f_{k}, g_{j}\rangle\}_{j, k=1}^{\infty}$ and sufficient and necessary conditions for boundedness, invertibility, compactness and positivity of this operator are determined depending on the associated sequences. We show that invertibility of $G$ is not possible when the associated sequences are frames but n…
In this article we obtain families of frames for the space B_ωof functions with band in [-ω,ω] by using the theory of shift-invariant spaces. Our results are based on the Gramian analysis of A. Ron and Z. Shen and a variant, due to Bownik, of their characterization of families of functions whose shifts form frames or Riesz bases. We give necessary and sufficient conditions for the translates of a finite number of functions (generators) to be a frame or a Riesz basis for B_ω. We also give explicit formulas for the dual generators and we apply them to Hilbert transform sampling and derivative sa…
Weaving frames are powerful tools in wireless sensor networks and pre-processing signals. In this paper, we introduce the concept of weaving for g-frames in Hilbert spaces. We first give some properties of weaving g-frames and present two necessary conditions in terms of frame bounds for weaving g-frames. Then we study the properties of weakly woven g-frames and give a sufficient condition for weaving g-frames. It is shown that weakly woven is equivalent to woven. Two sufficient conditions for weaving g-Riesz bases are given. And a weaving equivalent of an unconditional g-basis for weaving g-R…
The duality principle states that a Gabor system is a frame if and only if the corresponding adjoint Gabor system is a Riesz sequence. In general Hilbert spaces and without the assumption of any particular structure, Casazza, Kutyniok and Lammers have introduced the so-called R-duals that also lead to a characterization of frames in terms of associated Riesz sequences; however, it is still an open question whether this abstract theory is a generalization of the duality principle. In this paper we prove that a modified version of the R-duals leads to a generalization of the duality principle th…
We prove strict necessary density conditions for coherent frames and Riesz sequences on homogeneous groups. Let $N$ be a connected, simply connected nilpotent Lie group with a dilation structure (a homogeneous group) and let $(π, \mathcal{H}_π)$ be an irreducible, square-integrable representation modulo the center $Z(N)$ of $N$ on a Hilbert space $\mathcal{H}_π$ of formal dimension $d_π$. If $g \in \mathcal{H}_π$ is an integrable vector and the set $\{ π(λ)g : λ\in Λ\}$ for a discrete subset $Λ\subseteq N / Z(N)$ forms a frame for $\mathcal{H}_π$, then its density satisfies the strict inequali…
We introduce a new notion for the deformation of Gabor systems. Such deformations are in general nonlinear and, in particular, include the standard jitter error and linear deformations of phase space. With this new notion we prove a strong deformation result for Gabor frames and Gabor Riesz sequences that covers the known perturbation and deformation results. Our proof of the deformation theorem requires a new characterization of Gabor frames and Gabor Riesz sequences. It is in the style of Beurling's characterization of sets of sampling for bandlimited functions and extends significantly the …
We study an intriguing question in frame theory we call "Weaving Frames" that is partially motivated by preprocessing of Gabor frames. Two frames $\{φ_i\}_{i\in I}$ and $\{ψ_i \}_{i\in I}$ for a Hilbert space ${\mathbb H}$ are woven if there are constants $0<A \le B $ so that for every subset $σ\subset I$, the family $\{φ_i\}_{i\in σ} \cup \{ψ_i\}_{i\in σ^c}$ is a frame for $\mathbb H$ with frame bounds $A,B$. Fundamental properties of woven frames are developed and key differences between weaving Riesz bases and weaving frames are considered. In particular, it is shown that a Riesz basis cann…
We characterize Riesz frames and frames with the subframe property and use this to answer most of the questions from the literature concerning these properties and their relationships to the projection methods etc.
Let $μ$ be a Borel probability measure with compact support. We consider exponential type orthonormal bases, Riesz bases and frames in $L^2(μ)$. We show that if $L^2(μ)$ admits an exponential frame, then $μ$ must be of pure type. We also classify various $μ$ that admits either kind of exponential bases, in particular, the discrete measures and their connection with integer tiles. By using this and convolution, we construct a class of singularly continuous measures that has an exponential Riesz basis but no exponential orthonormal basis. It is the first of such kind of examples.
In this paper we have some new results on sums of Hilbert space frames and Riesz bases. We also have a correction for some results in "S. Obeidat et al., Sums of Hilbert space frames, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 351 (2009) 579-585."
In this paper it is investigated how to find a matrix representation of operators on a Hilbert space with Bessel sequences, frames and Riesz bases. In many applications these sequences are often preferable to orthonormal bases (ONBs). Therefore it is useful to extend the known method of matrix representation by using these sequences instead of ONBs for these application areas. We will give basic definitions of the functions connecting infinite matrices defining bounded operators on l2 and operators on the Hilbert space. We will show some structural results and give some examples. Furthermore i…
It is well known that short-time expansions of heat kernels correlate to formal high-frequency expansions of spectral densities. It is also well known that the latter expansions are generally not literally true beyond the first term. However, the terms in the heat-kernel expansion correspond rigorously to quantities called Riesz means of the spectral expansion, which damp out oscillations in the spectral density at high frequencies by dint of performing an average over the density at all lower frequencies. In general, a change of variables leads to new Riesz means that contain different inform…
In this note, we fix a real invertible $d\times d$ matrix $\mathcal{A}$ and consider $\mathcal{A}\mathbb{Z}^d$ as an index set. For $f\in L^2(\mathbb{R}^d)$, let $Φ^{\mathcal{A}}_{f}:=\frac{1}{|\det \mathcal{A}|}\sum_{k\in \mathbb{Z}^d}|\hat{f}(\mathcal{A}^T)^{-1}(\cdot+k)|^2$ be the periodization of $|\hat{f}|^2$. By using $Φ^{\mathcal{A}}_{f}$, among other things, we characterize when the sequence $τ_{\mathcal{A}}(f):=\{f(\cdot-\mathcal{A}k)\}_{k\in \mathbb{Z}^d}$ is a Bessel sequence, frame of translates, Riesz basis, or orthonormal basis. And finally, we construct an example, in which $τ_{…
In this paper we introduce and show some new notions and results on cg-frames of Hilbert spaces. We define cg-orthonormal bases for a Hilbert space H and verify their properties and relations with cg-frames. Actually, we present that every cg-frame can be represented as a composition of a cg-orthonormal basis and an operator under some conditions. Also, we find for any cg-frame an induced c-frame and study their properties and relations. Moreover, we show that every cg-frame can be written as aggregate of two Parseval cg-frames. In addition, We show each cg-frame as a summation of a cg-orthono…
