Let $\mathcal{H}$ be a (separable) Hilbert space and $\{e_k\}_{k\geq 1}$ a fixed orthonormal basis of $\mathcal{H}$. Motivated by many papers on scaled projections, angles of subspaces and oblique projections, we define and study the notion of compatibility between a subspace and the abelian algebra of diagonal operators in the given basis. This is used to refine previous work on scaled projections, and to obtain a new characterization of Riesz frames.
Fuzzy ordered linear spaces, Riesz spaces, fuzzy Archimedean spaces and $σ$-complete fuzzy Riesz spaces were defined and studied in several works. Following the efforts along this line, we define fuzzy Riesz subspaces, fuzzy ideals, fuzzy bands and fuzzy band projections and establish their fundamental properties.
We prove sharp interpolatory estimates between Riesz Transforms and directional Haar projections. We obtain applications to the theory of compensated compactness and prove a conjecture of L. Tartar on semi-continuity of separately convex integrands.
We prove that directional wavelet projections and Riesz transforms are related by interpolatory estimates. The exponents of interpolation depend on the Hölder estimates of the wavelet system. This paper complements and continues previous work on Haar projections.
In the article is shown that classes of finite equivalence that are generated by Lebesgue-Riesz spaces Lp have the amalgamation property if and only if p is not equal to an even natural number that is strongly large then 2.
In this paper, we prove the Spanne-type boundedness of the generalized Riesz potential operator from the one generalized weighted local Morrey spaces to the another one, and from the generalized weighted local Morrey spaces to the weak generalized weighted local Morrey spaces. We also prove the Adams-type boundedness of the operator from the weighted spaces to the another one, and from the weighted spaces to the weak weighted spaces.
We prove weighted restriction type estimates for Grushin operators. These estimates are then used to prove sharp spectral multiplier theorems as well as Bochner-Riesz summability results with sharp exponent.
In vector lattices, the concept of a projection band is a basic tool. We deal with projection bands in the more general setting of an Archimedean pre-Riesz space $X$. We relate them to projection bands in a vector lattice cover $Y$ of $X$. If $X$ is pervasive, then a projection band in $X$ extends to a projection band in $Y$, whereas the restriction of a projection band $B$ in $Y$ is not a projection band in $X$, in general. We give conditions under which the restriction of $B$ is a projection band in $X$. We introduce atoms and discrete elements in $X$ and show that every atom is discrete. Th…
We study totally bounded subsets in weighted variable exponent amalgam and Sobolev spaces. Moreover, this paper includes several detailed generalized results of some compactness criterions in these spaces.
In this paper, we introduce orthonoramal and Riesz bases for g-fusion frames and will show that the weights have basic roles. Next, we prove an effective theorem between frames and g-fusion frames by using an operator. Finally, perturbations of g-fusion frames will be presented.
In this paper, we characterize the weighted local Hardy spaces $h^p_ρ(ω)$ related to the critical radius function $ρ$ and weights $ω\in A_{1}^{ρ,\,\infty}(\mathbb{R}^{n})$ by localized Riesz transforms $\widehat{R}_j$, in addition, we give a characterization of weighted Hardy spaces $H^{1}_{\cal L}(ω)$ via Riesz tranforms associated to Schrödinger operator $\cal L$, where $Ł=-Δ+V$ is a Schrödinger operator on $\mathbb{R}^{n}$ ($n\ge 3$) and $V$ is a nonnegative function satisfying the reverse Hölder inequality.
The norm of the Riesz projection from $L^\infty(\T^n)$ to $L^p(\T^n)$ is considered. It is shown that for $n=1$, the norm equals $1$ if and only if $p\le 4$ and that the norm behaves asymptotically as $p/(πe)$ when $p\to \infty$. The critical exponent $p_n$ is the supremum of those $p$ for which the norm equals $1$. It is proved that $2+2/(2^n-1)\le p_n <4$ for $n>1$; it is unknown whether the critical exponent for $n=\infty$ exceeds $2$.
In multicentric holomorphic calculus one represents the function $φ$ using a new polynomial variable $w=p(z)$ in such a way that when it is evaluated at the operator $A,$ then $p(A)$ is small in norm. Usually it is assumed that $p$ has distinct roots. In this paper we discuss two related problems, the separation of a compact set (such as the spectrum) into different components by a polynomial lemniscate, respectively the application of the Calculus to the computation and the estimation of the Riesz spectral projection. It may then become desirable the use of $p(z)^n$ as a new variable. We also…
Let $Ω\subset \mathbb{R}^n$ be an unbounded open set. We consider the generalized weighted Morrey spaces $\mathcal{M}^{p(\cdot),φ}_ω(Ω)$ and the vanishing generalized weighted Morrey spaces $V\mathcal{M}^{p(\cdot),φ}_ω(Ω)$ with variable exponent $p(x)$ and a general function $φ(x,r)$ defining the Morrey-type norm. The main result of this paper are the boundedness of Riesz potential and its commutators on the spaces $\mathcal{M}^{p(\cdot),φ}_ω(Ω)$ and $V\mathcal{M}^{p(\cdot),φ}_ω(Ω)$. This result generalizes several existing results for Riesz potential and its commutators on Morrey type spaces.…
Let $n_j$ be a lacunary sequence of integers, such that $n_{j+1}/n_j\geq r$. We are interested in linear combinations of the sequence of finite Riesz products $\prod_{j=1}^N(1+\cos(n_j t))$. We prove that, whenever the Riesz products are normalized in $L^p$ norm ($p\geq 1$) and when $r$ is large enough, the $L^p$ norm of such a linear combination is equivalent to the $\ell^p$ norm of the sequence of coefficients. In other words, one can describe many ways of embedding $\ell^p$ into $L^p$ based on Fourier coefficients. This generalizes to vector valued $L^p$ spaces.
In this paper we show weighted estimates in mixed norm spaces for the Riesz transform associated with the harmonic oscillator in spherical coordinates. In order to prove the result we need a weighted inequality for a vector-valued extension of the Riesz transform related to the Laguerre expansions which is of independent interest. The main tools to obtain such extension are a weighted inequality for the Riesz transform independent of the order of the involved Laguerre functions and an appropriate adaptation of Rubio de Francia's extrapolation theorem.
In Dunkl theory on Rd which generalizes classical Fourier analysis, we study first the behavior at infinity of the Riesz potential of a non compactly supported function. Second, we give for 1<p<=q<infinite, weighted (Lp,Lq) boundedness of the Riesz potentials with sufficient conditions. As application, we prove a weighted generalized Sobolev inequality.
We prove that the norm of the Riesz projection from $L^\infty(\Bbb{T}^n)$ to $L^p(\Bbb{T}^n)$ is $1$ for all $n\ge 1$ only if $p\le 2$, thus solving a problem posed by Marzo and Seip in 2011. This shows that $H^p(\Bbb{T}^{\infty})$ does not contain the dual space of $H^1(\Bbb{T}^{\infty})$ for any $p>2$. We then note that the dual of $H^1(\Bbb{T}^{\infty})$ contains, via the Bohr lift, the space of Dirichlet series in $\operatorname{BMOA}$ of the right half-plane. We give several conditions showing how this $\operatorname{BMOA}$ space relates to other spaces of Dirichlet series. Finally, relat…
We prove that the operator norm on weighted Lebesgue space L2(w) of the commutators of the Hilbert, Riesz and Beurling transforms with a BMO function b depends quadratically on the A2-characteristic of the weight, as opposed to the linear dependence known to hold for the operators themselves. It is known that the operator norms of these commutators can be controlled by the norm of the commutator with appropriate Haar shift operators, and we prove the estimate for these commutators. For the shift operator corresponding to the Hilbert transform we use Bellman function methods, however there is n…
Given a Hilbert space and the generator of a strongly continuous group on this Hilbert space. If the eigenvalues of the generator have a uniform gap, and if the span of the corresponding eigenvectors is dense, then these eigenvectors form a Riesz basis (or unconditional basis) of the Hilbert space. Furthermore, we show that none of the conditions can be weakened. However, if the eigenvalues (counted with multiplicity) can be grouped into subsets of at most $K$ elements, and the distance between the groups is (uniformly) bounded away from zero, then the spectral projections associated to the gr…
This paper proves the $L^p$ boundedness of generalized first order Riesz transforms obtained as conditional expectations of martingale transforms à la Gundy-Varopoulos for quite general diffusions on manifolds and vector bundles. Several specific examples and applications are presented: Lie groups of compact type, the Heisenberg group, SU(2), and Riesz transforms on forms and spinors.
Consider the Hill operator $L(v) = - d^2/dx^2 + v(x) $ on $[0,π]$ with Dirichlet, periodic or antiperiodic boundary conditions; then for large enough $n$ close to $n^2 $ there are one Dirichlet eigenvalue $μ_n$ and two periodic (if $n$ is even) or antiperiodic (if $n$ is odd) eigenvalues $λ_n^-, \, λ_n^+ $ (counted with multiplicity). We describe classes of complex potentials $v(x)= \sum_{2\mathbb{Z}} V(k) e^{ikx}$ in weighted spaces (defined in terms of the Fourier coefficients of $v$) such that the periodic (or antiperiodic) root function system of $L(v) $ contains a Riesz basis if and only …
Disjointness, bands, and band projections are a classical and essential part of the structure theory of vector lattices. If $X$ is such a lattice, those notions seem - at first glance - intimately related to the lattice operations on $X$. The last fifteen years, though, have seen an extension of all those concepts to a much larger class of ordered vector spaces. In fact if $X$ is an Archimedean ordered vector space with generating cone, or a member of the slightly larger class of pre-Riesz spaces, then the notions of disjointness, bands and band projections can be given proper meaning and give…

In this paper we study weighted mixed norm estimates for Riesz transforms associated to Dunkl harmonic oscillators. The idea is to show that the required inequalities are equivalent to certain vector valued inequalities for operator defined in terms of Laguerre expansions. In certain cases the main result can be deduced from the corresponding result for Hermite Riesz transforms.

Let $t\in(0,\infty)$, $p\in(1,\infty)$, $q\in[1,\infty]$, $w\in A_p$ and $v\in A_q$. We introduce the weighted amalgam space $(L^p,L^q)_t(\mathbb R^n)$ and show some properties of it. Some estimates on these spaces for the classical operators in harmonic analysis, such as the Hardy--Littlewood maximal operator, the Calderón--Zygmund operator, the Riesz potential, singular integral operators with the rough kernel, the Marcinkiewicz integral, the Bochner-Riesz operator, the Littlewood-Paley $g$ function and the intrinsic square function, are considered. Our main method is extrapolation. We obtai…
We consider a regular indefinite Sturm-Liouville problem with two self-adjoint boundary conditions, one being affinely dependent on the eigenparameter. We give sufficient conditions under which a basis of each root subspace for this Sturm-Liouville problem can be selected so that the union of all these bases constitutes a Riesz basis of a corresponding weighted Hilbert space.
In this paper we investigate a new notion of bases in Hilbert spaces and similar to fusion frame theory we introduce fusion bases theory in Hilbert spaces. We also introduce a new definition of fusion dual sequence associated with a fusion basis and show that the operators of a fusion dual sequence are continuous projections. Next we define the fusion biorthogonal sequence, Bessel fusion basis, Hilbert fusion basis and obtain some characterizations of them. we study orthonormal fusion systems and Riesz fusion bases for Hilbert spaces. we consider the stability of fusion bases under small pertu…
Under the assumption that $V \in L^2([0,π]; dx)$, we derive necessary and sufficient conditions for (non-self-adjoint) Schrödinger operators $-d^2/dx^2+V$ in $L^2([0,π]; dx)$ with periodic and antiperiodic boundary conditions to possess a Riesz basis of root vectors (i.e., eigenvectors and generalized eigenvectors spanning the range of the Riesz projection associated with the corresponding periodic and antiperiodic eigenvalues). We also discuss the case of a Schauder basis for periodic and antiperiodic Schrödinger operators $-d^2/dx^2+V$ in $L^p([0,π]; dx)$, $p \in (1,\infty)$.
Let $X$ and $Y$ be compact Hausdorff spaces, and $E$, $F$ be Banach lattices. Let $C(X,E)$ denote the Banach lattice of all continuous $E$-valued functions on $X$ equipped with the pointwise ordering and the sup norm. We prove that if there exists a Riesz isomorphism $\mathnormalΦ: C(X,E)\to C(Y,F)$ such that $\mathnormalΦf$ is non-vanishing on $Y$ if and only if $f$ is non-vanishing on $X$, then $X$ is homeomorphic to $Y$, and $E$ is Riesz isomorphic to $F$. In this case, $\mathnormalΦ$ can be written as a weighted composition operator: $\mathnormalΦ f(y)=\mathnormalΠ(y)(f(φ(y)))$, where $φ$ …
In this paper we give new characterizations of Riesz and conditional Riesz frames in terms of the properties of the nullspace of their synthesis operators. On the other hand, we also study the oblique dual frames whose coefficients in the reconstruction formula minimize different weighted norms.
This paper provides sufficient density conditions for the existence of smooth vectors generating a frame or Riesz sequence in the lattice orbit of a square-integrable projective representation of a nilpotent Lie group. The conditions involve the product of lattice co-volume and formal dimension, and complement Balian-Low type theorems for the non-existence of smooth frames and Riesz sequences at the critical density. The proof hinges on a connection between smooth lattice orbits and generators for an explicitly constructed finitely generated Hilbert $C^*$-module. An important ingredient in the…
Let $L=-Δ+V$ be a Schrödinger operator, where $Δ$ is the Laplacian operator on $\rz$, while nonnegative potential $V$ belongs to the reverse Hölder class. In this paper, we establish the weighted norm inequalities for some Schrödinger type operators, which include Riesz transforms and fractional integrals and their commutators. These results generalize substantially some well-known results.
In this paper we find the condition on function $ω$ and weight $v$ which ensures the equivalency of norms of the Riesz potential and the fractional maximal function in generalized weighted Morrey spaces ${\mathcal M}_{p,ω}({\mathbb R}^n,v)$ and generalized weighted central Morrey spaces $\dot{\mathcal M}_{p,ω}({\mathbb R}^n,v)$, when $v$ belongs to Muckenhoupt $A_{\infty}$-class.
Let $w$ be a Muckenhoupt $A_2(\mathbb{R}^n)$ weight and $L_w:=-w^{-1}\mathop\mathrm{div}(A\nabla)$ the degenerate elliptic operator on the Euclidean space $\mathbb{R}^n$. In this article, the authors establish the Riesz transform characterization of the Hardy space $H_{L_w}^p(\mathbb{R}^n)$ associated with $L_w$, for $w\in A_{q}(\mathbb{R}^n)$ and $w^{-1}\in A_{2-\frac{2}{n}}(\mathbb{R}^n)$ with $n\geq 3$, $q\in[1,2]$ and $p\in(q(\frac{1}{r}+\frac{q-1}{2}+\frac{1}{n})^{-1},1]$ if, for some $r\in[1,\,2)$, $\{tL_w e^{-tL_w}\}_{t\geq 0}$ satisfies the weighted $L^r-L^2$ full off-diagonal estimate…
We consider the following question: Are there exponents $2<p<q$ such that the Riesz projection is bounded from $L^q$ to $L^p$ on the infinite polytorus? We are unable to answer the question, but our counter-example improves a result of Marzo and Seip by demonstrating that the Riesz projection is unbounded from $L^\infty$ to $L^p$ if $p\geq 3.31138$. A similar result can be extracted for any $q>2$. Our approach is based on duality arguments and a detailed study of linear functions. Some related results are also presented.
Let $A$ be a unital Banach algebra over $\mathbb C$, and suppose that the nonzero spectral values of, respectively, $a\mbox{ and }b\in A$ are discrete sets which cluster at $0\in\mathbb C$, if anywhere. We develop a plane geometric formula for the spectral semidistance of $a$ and $b$ which depends on the two spectra, and the orthogonality relationships between the corresponding sets of Riesz projections associated with the nonzero spectral values. Extending a result of Brits and Raubenheimer, it is further shown that $a$ and $b$ are quasinilpotent equivalent if and only if all the Riesz projec…
Let $\mathbb T_{q+1}$ denote the homogeneous tree of degree $q+1$ with the standard graph distance $d$ and the canonical flow measure $μ$. The metric measure space $(\mathbb T_{q+1},d,μ)$ is of exponential growth. Let $\mathcal{L}$ denote the flow Laplacian, which is a probabilistic Laplacian self-adjoint on $L^2(μ)$. In this note, we prove some weighted $L^1$-estimates for the heat kernel associated with $\mathcal{L}$ and its gradient. As a consequence, we show that the first order Riesz transform associated with the flow Laplacian on $\mathbb T_{q+1}$ is bounded on $L^p(μ)$, for $p \in (1,2]…
Boundedness for a class of projection operators, which includes the coordinate projections, on matrix weighted $L^p$-spaces is completely characterised in terms of simple scalar conditions. Using the projection result, sufficient conditions, which are straightforward to verify, are obtained that ensure that a given matrix weight is contained in the Muckenhoupt matrix $A_p$ class. Applications to singular integral operators with product kernels are considered.
A generalization with singular weights of Moore-Penrose generalized inverses of closed range operators in Hilbert spaces is studied using the notion of compatibility of subspaces and positive operators.
In this paper we study $A$-projections, i.e. operators of a Hilbert space $\HH$ which act as projections when a seminorm is considered in $\HH$. $A$-projections were introduced by Mitra and Rao \cite{[MitRao74]} for finite dimensional spaces. We relate this concept to the theory of compatibility between positive operators and closed subspaces of $\HH$. We also study the relationship between weighted least squares problems and compatibility.
We obtain ceratin estimates for the reproducing kernels of large weighted Bergman spaces. Applications of these estimates to boundedness of the Bergman projection on $L^p(\D,ω^{p/2})$, complex interpolation and duality of weighted Bergman spaces are given.
For the weight function $\prod_{i=1}^{d+1}|x_i|^{2\k_i}$ on the unit sphere, sharp local estimates of the orthogonal projection operators are obtained and used to prove the convergence of the Cesàro $(C,δ)$ means in the weighted $L^p$ space for $δ$ below the critical index. Similar results are also proved for corresponding weight functions on the unit ball and on the simplex.
