This article describes some geometric invariants and conformal anomalies for conformally compact Einstein manifolds and their minimal submanifolds which have recently been discovered via the Anti-de Sitter/Conformal Field Theory correspondence.

We obtain a structure theorem for the group of holomorphic automorphisms of a conformally Kähler, Einstein-Maxwell metric, extending the classical results of Matsushima, Licherowicz and Calabi in the Kähler-Einstein, cscK, and extremal Kähler cases. Conformally Kähler, Einstein-Maxwell metrics and $f$-extremal metrics are generalization of canonical metrics in Kähler geometry. We introduce uniform K-stability for toric Kähler manifolds, and show that uniform K-stability is necessary condition for the existence of $f$-extremal metrics on toric manifolds. Furthermore, we show that uniform K-stability is equivalent to properness of relative K-energy.

We show that conformally compact metrics satisfying a generalization of the Einstein equation, Poincare-Lovelock metrics, also have Fefferman-Graham expansions. We prove a conformally invariant estimate for the index of Schrödinger operators acting on vector bundles over four-manifolds, related to the classical Cwikel-Lieb-Rozenblum estimate. Applied to Yang-Mills connections we obtain a bound for the index in terms of its energy which is conformally invariant, and captures the sharp growth rate. Furthermore we derive an index estimate for Einstein metrics in terms of the topology and the Einstein-Hilbert energy.
