We provide new examples of manifolds which admit a Riemannian metric with sectional curvature nonnegative, and strictly positive at one point. Our examples include the unit tangent bundles of $CP^n$, $HP^n$ and $CaP^2$, and a family of lens space bundles over $CP^n$. All new examples are consequences of a general sufficient condition for a homogeneous fiber bundle over a homogeneous space to admit such a metric.
For Fano homogeneous toric bundles, we obtain a formula of the greatest lower bound on Ricci curvature. We also give a criteria for the ampleness of a kind of line bundles over general homogeneous toric bundles.
This paper addresses Cheeger and Gromoll's question of which vector bundles admit a complete metric of nonnegative curvature, and relates their question to the issue of which sphere bundles admit a metric of positive curvature. We show that any vector bundle which admits a metric of nonnegative curvature must admit a connection, a tensor, and a metric on the base space which together satisfy a certain differential inequality. In this paper, we introduce a study of prolongations of homogeneous vector bundles. We give an alternative approach for the prolongation. For a given homogeneous vector bundle E, we obtain a new homogeneous vector bundle. The homogeneous structure and its corresponding representation are derived. The prolongation of induced representation, which is an infinite dimensional linear representation, is also defined.
A simple algebraic characterization of the Fano manifolds in the class of homogeneous toric bundles over a flag manifold $G^C/P$ is provided in terms of symplectic data.
It is proved that an homogeneous toric bundles over a flag manifold G^\C/P admits a Kaehler-Ricci solitonic metric if and only if it is Fano. In particular, an homogeneous toric bundle of this kind is Kaehler-Einstein if and only if it is Fano and its Futaki invariant vanishes identically.
This article deals with fat bundles. Berard-Bergery classified all homogeneous bundles of that type. We ask a question of a possibility to generalize his description in the case of arbitrary G-structures over homogeneous spaces. We obtain necessary conditions for the existence of such bundles. These conditions yield a kind of classification of fat bundles associated with G-structures over compact homogeneous spaces provided that the connection in a G-structure is canonical.
We determine the curvature equations of natural metrics on tangent bundles and radius r tangent sphere bundles S_rM of a Riemannian manifold M. A family of positive scalar curvature metrics on S_rM is found, for any M with bounded sectional curvature and any chosen constant r.
We construct metrics of positive Ricci curvature on some vector bundles over tori (or more generally, over nilmanifolds). This gives rise to the first examples of manifolds with positive Ricci curvature which are homotopy equivalent but not homeomorphic to manifolds of nonnegative sectional curvature.
We construct new examples of manifolds of positive Ricci curvature which, topologically, are vector bundles over compact manifolds of almost nonnegative Ricci curvature. In particular, we prove that if E is the total space of a vector bundle over a compact manifold of nonnegative Ricci curvature, then the product of E and R^p admits a complete metric of positive Ricci curvature for all large p.
We consider cohomogeneity one homogeneous disk bundles and adress the question when these admit a nonnegatively curved invariant metric with normal collar, i.e., such that near the boundary the metric is the product of an interval and a normal homogeneous space. If such a bundle is not (the quotient of) a trivial bundle, then we show that its rank has to be in $\{2,3,4,6,8\}$. Moreover, we give a complete classification of such bundles of rank 6 and 8, and a partial classification for rank 3.
We discuss the Morse estimates for the curvature of several metrics on Semple weighted projective bundle over a projective variety. Following Demailly works on holomorphic Morse inequalities we show an analogue of his results along the Green-Griffiths conjecture for invariant jets.
In this paper, we study the generalized Abreu equation on a Delzant ploytope $Δ\subset \mathbb{R}^2$ and prove the existence of the constant scalar metrics of homogeneous toric bundles under the assumption of an appropriate stability.
In a fibre bundle, natural derivatives of a section are defined as tangent vector fields on the image of a section of the fibre bundle. A local extension to vector fields in the tangent bundle leads to a direct proof of the formula expressing the curvature of a connection in terms of covariant derivatives. The result is based on a tensoriality argument and extends to nonlinear connections on fibre bundles a well-known formula for linear connections on vector bundles.
In this paper we consider the complex vector spaces of holomorphic cross-sections of homogeneous holomorphic vector bundles over elliptic adjoint orbits, and provide a sufficient condition for the vector spaces to be finite dimensional in view of root systems.
Motivated to study the geometry of the exotic spheres constructed in [5], we derive a necessary condition for non-negative sectional curvature in certain total spaces of Riemannian submersions with totally geodesic fibers. In particular, we prove that the bundles in [5] and [1] have sections of negative curvature.
In this note we show that every (real or complex) vector bundle over a compact rank one symmetric space carries, after taking the Whitney sum with a trivial bundle of sufficiently large rank, a metric with nonnegative sectional curvature. We also examine the case of complex vector bundles over other manifolds, and give upper bounds for the rank of the trivial bundle that is necessary to add when the base is a sphere.

Let $(X,ω)$ be a compact Kähler manifold of complex dimension $n$ and $(L,h)$ be a holomorphic line bundle over $X$. The line bundle mean curvature flow was introduced in \cite{JY} in order to find deformed Hermitian-Yang-Mills metrics on $L$. In this paper, we consider the stability of the line bundle mean curvature flow. Suppose there exists a deformed Hermitian Yang-Mills metric $\hat h$ on $L$. We prove that the line bundle mean curvature flow converges to $\hat h$ exponentially in $C^\infty$ sense as long as the initial metric is close to $\hat h$ in $C^2$-norm.

In this paper, we study the line bundle mean curvature flow defined by Jacob and Yau. The line bundle mean curvature flow is a kind of parabolic flows to obtain deformed Hermitian Yang-Mills metrics on a given Kähler manifold. The goal of this paper is to give an $\varepsilon$-regularity theorem for the line bundle mean curvature flow. To establish the theorem, we provide a scale invariant monotone quantity. We study the positivity properties of the curvature operator for holomorphic Hermitian vector bundles. We obtain new characterization of semi-positive curvature operators for $(n,q)$ and $(p,n)$-forms by L2-estimates. The characterization of Nakano semi-positivity by $L^2$-estimate is already known. Applying our results, we give new characterizations of Nakano semi-negativity.

We consider natural differential operations acting on sections of tensor vector bundles. Arrising problems can be reformulated as invariant theoretical problems (the IT-reduction). We give examples of usage of the IT-reduction. In particular, on a manifold with a connection and a Poisson structure we construct the canonical quantization.
In this article we present a study of the subspaces of the manifold OscM, the total space of the osculator bundle of a real manifold M. We obtain the induced connections of the canonical metrical N-linear connection determined by the homogeneous prolongation of a Finsler metric to the manifold OscM. We present the relation between the induced and intrinsic geometric objects of the associated osculator submanifold.
The aim of this paper is to present a direct and simple proof of a result concerning the existence of metrics of positive Ricci curvature on the total space of fiber bundles with compact structure groups. In particular, it also generalizes and puts in a unified framework the results in Nash \cite{nash} and Poor \cite{poor}. With the intention of disseminating this result, we apply it to build new examples of manifolds with positive Ricci curvature, including bundles whose base consists of gradient shrinking Ricci solitons.
We study the conditions under which a Kählerian structure $(G,J)$ of general natural lift type on the cotangent bundle $T^*M$ of a Riemannian manifold $(M,g)$ has constant holomorphic sectional curvature. We obtain that a certain parameter involved in the condition for $(T^*M,G,J)$ to be a Kählerian manifold, is expressed as a rational function of the other two, their derivatives, the constant sectional curvature of the base manifold $(M,g)$, and the constant holomorphic sectional curvature of the general natural Kählerian structure $(G,J)$.
In this paper, we investigate the geometry of the base complex manifold of an effectively parametrized holomorphic family of stable Higgs bundles over a fixed compact Kähler manifold. It is well-known that if a curve is a geodesic line of the tangent (sphere) bundle with Sasaki metric of a locally symmetric Riemannian manifold then the projected curve has all its geodesic curvatures constant. In this paper we consider the case of tangent (sphere) bundle over the real, complex and quaternionic space form and give a unified proof of the following property: all geodesic curvatures of projected curve are zero starting from k_3,k_6 and k_{10} for the real, complex and quaternionic space formes respectively.
Let $π:\mathcal{X}\to M$ be a holomorphic fibration with compact fibers and $L$ a relatively ample line bundle over $\mathcal{X}$. We obtain the asymptotic of the curvature of $L^2$-metric and Qullien metric on the direct image bundle $π_*(L^k\otimes K_{\mathcal{X}/M})$ up to the lower order terms than $k^{n-1}$ for large $k$. Let $G/H$ be a Riemannian homogeneous space. For an orthogonal representation $ϕ$ of $H$ on the Euclidean space $\mathbb{R}^{k+1}$, there corresponds the vector bundle $E=G\times_ϕ\mathbb{R}^{k+1} \to G/H$ with fiberwise inner product. Provided that $ϕ$ is the direct sum of at most two representations which are either trivial or irreducible, we construct metrics of constant scalar curvature on the unit sphere bundle $UE$ of $E$. When $G/H$ is the round sphere, we study the number of constant scalar curvature metrics in the conformal classes of these metrics.
In the first part we use Gromov's K--area to define the K--area homology which stabilizes into singular homology on the category of pairs of compact smooth manifolds. The second part treats the questions of certain curvature gaps. For instance, the $L^\infty $--curvature gap of complex vector bundles on a compact manifold is positive if and only if the K--area homology coincides with the reduced singular homology in all even degrees. In the third part we give some upper bounds of the scalar curvature on compact manifolds. In particular, we generalize results by Llarull and Goette, Semmelmann.
This is the first of a sequence of two papers. Natural metric structures on tangent bundles and tangent sphere bundles enclose many important problems, from the topology of the base to the determination of their holonomy. We make here a brief study of the topic. We find the characteristic classes of some of those structures. We solve the question of when two given tangent sphere bundles S_rM of a Riemannian manifold M,g are homothetic, assuming different variable radius functions r and weighted metrics induced only by the conformal class of g. Let M be a compact Riemannian manifold and E a Riemannian vector bundle on M. We look for hypersurfaces of E with a prescribed vertical Gaussian curvature. In trying to solve this problem fibre-wise, we loose the regularity of the resulting solution. To unsure the smoothness of the solution, we construct it as a radial graph over the unit sphere subbundle of E and prove its existence by solving in this one a nonlinear partial differential equation of Monge-Ampère type.

In [SW2], we defined a generalized mean curvature vector field on any almost Lagrangian submanifold with respect to a torsion connection on an almost Kähler manifold. The short time existence of the corresponding parabolic flow was established. In addition, it was shown that the flow preserves the Lagrangian condition as long as the connection satisfies an Einstein condition. We study the line bundle mean curvature flow on Kähler surfaces under the hypercritical phase and a certain semipositivity condition. We naturally encounter such a condition when considering the blowup of Kähler surfaces. We show that the flow converges smoothly to a singular solution to the deformed Hermitian-Yang-Mills equation away from a finite number of curves of negative self-intersection on the surface. As an application, we obtain a lower bound of a Kempf-Ness type functional on the space of potential functions satisfying the hypercritical phase condition.
The main aim of this article is to calculate explicit formula for S-curvature in homogeneous generalized m-Kropina metric. Further, we also deduce mean Berwald curvature for homogeneous generalized m-Kropina metric from S-curvature.
We obtain a class of locally symmetric Kaehler Einstein structures on the cotangent bundle of a Riemannian manifold of negative sectional curvature. Similar results are obtained in the case of a Riemannian manifold of positive sectional curvature. The obtained class of Kaehler Einstein structures depends on one essential parameter and cannot have constant holomorphic sectional curvature.
We show that the moduli space of positive Ricci curvature metrics on all the total spaces of $S^7$-bundles over $S^8$ which are rational homology spheres has infinitely many path components. Furthermore, we carry out the diffeomorphism classification of quotients of Milnor spheres by a certain involution and show that the moduli space of metrics of non-negative sectional on them has infinitely many path components. We obtain a locally symmetric Kaehler Einstein structure on the cotangent bundle of a Riemannian manifold of negative constant sectional curvature. Similar results are obtained on a tube around zero section in the cotangent bundle, in the case of a Riemannian manifold of positive constant sectional curvature. The obtained Kaehler Einstein structures cannot have constant holomorphic sectional curvature.
