We study almost Kaehler manifolds whose curvature tensor satisfies the third curvature condition of Gray. We show that the study of manifolds within this class reduces to the study of a subclass having the property that the torsion of the first canonical Hermitian connection has the simplest possible algebraic form. This allows to understand the structure of the Kaehler nullity of an almost Kaehler manifold with parallel torsion.
We study and classify almost complex totally geodesic submanifolds of the nearly Kaehler flag manifold $F_{1,2}(\mathbb C^3)$, and of its semi-Riemannian counterpart. We also develop a structural approach to the nearly Kaehler flag manifold $F_{1,2}(\mathbb C^3)$, expressing for example the curvature tensor in terms of the nearly Kaehler structure $J$ and the three canonical orthogonal complex structures.

We show that the Weyl structure of an almost-Hermitian Weyl manifold of dimension at least 6 is trivial if the associated curvature operator satisfies the Kaehler identity. We construct some families of complex structures on compact manifolds by means of normal almost contact structures (nacs) so that each complex manifold in the family has a non-singular holomorphic flow. These families include as particular cases the Hopf and Calabi-Eckmann manifolds and the complex structures on the product of two normal almost contact manifolds constructed by Morimoto. In the present paper, we introduce screen almost semi-invariant (SASI) lightlike submanifolds of indefinite Keahler manifolds. We obtain the neccesary and sufficient condition for the induced connection to be a metric connection on SASI-lightlike submanifolds and construct an example for this manifold. Also we find some conditions for integrability of distributions and investigate certain characterizations.
If a smooth compact 4-manifold M admits a Kaehler-Einstein metric g of positive scalar curvature, Gursky showed that its conformal class [g] is an absolute minimizer of the Weyl functional among all conformal classes with positive Yamabe constant. Here we prove that, with the same hypotheses, [g] also minimizes of the Weyl functional on a different open set of conformal classes, most of which have negative Yamabe constant. An analogous minimization result is then proved for Einstein metrics g which are Hermitian, but not Kaehler.
In this paper, improving a preceding work, we obtain asymptotic polybalanced kernels associated to extremal Kaehler metrics on polarized algebraic manifolds. As a corollary, we have a stronger asymptotic relative Chow-polystability for extremal Kaehler polarized algebraic manifolds. Finally, related to the Yau-Tian-Donaldson Conjecture for extremal Kaehler metrics, we shall discuss the difference between strong relative K-stability and relative K-stability.
In this paper, we shall give some affirmative answer to an extremal Kaehler version of the Yau-Tian-Donaldson Conjecture. For a polarized algebraic manifold $(X,L)$, we choose a maximal algebraic torus $T$ in the group of holomorphic automorphisms of $X$. Then the polarization class $c_1(L)$ will be shown to admit an extremal Kaehler metric if $(X,L)$ is strongly K-stable relative to $T$.
We use some natural lifts defined on the cotangent bundle T*M of a Riemannian manifold (M,g) in order to construct an almost Hermitian structure (G,J) of diagonal type. We study almost Hermitian structures admitting a Hermitian connexion with totally skew-symmetric torsion or equivalently, those almost Hermitian structures with totally skew-symmetric Nijenhuis tensor. We investigate up to what extent the Nijenhuis tensor fails to be parallel with respect to the characteristic connexion. This is naturally described by means of an extension of the notion of Killing form to almost Hermitian geometry. In this context, we also make an essentially self-contained survey of nearly-Kaehler geometry, but from the perspective of non-integrable holonomy systems.
We work in both the complex and in the para-complex categories and examine (para)-Kähler Weyl structures in both the geometric and in the algebraic settings. The higher dimensional setting is quite restrictive. We show that any (para)-Kaehler Weyl algebraic curvature tensor is in fact Riemannian in dimension at least 6; this yields as a geometric consequence that any (para)-Kaehler Weyl geometric structure is trivial if the dimension is at least 6. For an almost contact metric manifold $N$, we find conditions for which either the total space of an $S^1$-bundle over $N$ or the Riemannian cone over $N$ admits a strong Kähler with torsion (SKT) structure. In this way we construct new 6-dimensional SKT manifolds. Moreover, we study the geometric structure induced on a hypersurface of an SKT manifold, and use such structures to construct new SKT manifolds via appropriate evolution equations. Hyper-Kähler with torsion (HKT) structures on the total space of an $S^1$-bundle over manifolds with three almost contact structures are also studied.

For any almost Kähler 4-manifold with $S \ge 0$, this condition forces the Kähler property. This article presents the study of almost Hermitian submersion from an almost Yamabe soliton onto an almost Hermitian manifold. A non-trivial example is also mentioned in order to guarantee the existence of such solitons on the total space of almost Hermitian submersions. We mainly focus on Kaehler submersions from Kaehler manifolds which are special case of almost Hermitian submersions. Under certain conditions, we find out that the fibres and the base manifold of such submersions are almost Yamabe soliton. We study the almost Kaehler geometry of adjoint orbits of non-compact real semisimple Lie groups endowed with the Kirillov-Kostant-Souriau symplectic form and a canonically defined almost complex structure. We give explicit formulas for the Chern-Ricci form, the Hermitian scalar curvature and the Nijenhuis tensor in terms of root data. We also discuss when the Chern-Ricci form is a multiple of the symplectic form, and when compact quotients of these orbits are of Kaehler type.
The basic class of the non-integrable almost complex manifolds with Norden metric is considered. Its curvature properties are studied. The isotropic Kaehler type of investigated manifolds is introduced and characterized geometrically.
In this paper, by using the Bochner technique on almost Hermitian manifolds, we obtain a complex Hessian comparison for almost Hermitian manifolds generalizing the Laplacian comparison for almost Hermitian manifolds by Tossati, and reprove a diameter estimate for almost Hermitian manifolds by Gray. Moreover, we obtain a sharp eigenvalue estimate on quasi Kaehler manifolds and a sharp Hessian comparison on nearly Kaehler manifolds.
Almost hypercomplex manifolds with Hermitian and Norden metrics and more specially the corresponding quaternionic Kaehler manifolds are considered. Some necessary and sufficient conditions the investigated manifolds be isotropic hyper-Kaehlerian and flat are found. We determine an explicit expression for the Ricci tensor of a K-manifold, that is of a compact Kaehler manifold M with vanishing first Betti number, on which a semisimple group G of biholomorphic isometries acts with an orbit of codimension one. We also prove that the Kaehler form and the Ricci form of M are uniquely determined by two special curves with values in g = Lie(G), say Z, Z': R \to g = Lie(G) and we show how the curve Z' is determined by the curve Z. In contrast, the study of warped product submanifolds from extrinsic point of view was initiated by the first author around the beginning of this century in [7, 8]. Since then the study of warped product submanifolds has been investigated by many geometers. The notion of slant submanifolds of almost Hermitian manifolds was introduced in [5]. A contact hypersurface in a Kaehler manifold is a real hypersurface for which the induced almost contact metric structure determines a contact structure. We carry out a systematic study of contact hypersurfaces in Kaehler manifolds. We then apply these general results to obtain classifications of contact hypersurfaces with constant mean curvature in the complex quadric SO(n+2)/SO(n)SO(2) and its noncompact dual space SO(n,2)/SO(n)SO(2) for n > 2.
B. Sahin [9] introduced the notion of anti-invariant Riemannian submersions from almost Hermitian manifolds onto Riemannian manifolds. In the present paper we extend the notion of anti-invariant and Lagrangian Riemannian submersions (a special anti-invariant Riemannian submersion) to the case of locally conformal Kaehler manifolds. We discuss the geometry of foliation and obtain some decomposition theorems for the total manifold of such submersions.
It is known that the almost-Kaehler anti-self-dual metrics on a given 4-manifold sweep out an open subset in the moduli space of anti-self-dual metrics. However, we show here by example that this subset is not generally closed, and so need not sweep out entire connected components in the moduli space. Our construction hinges on an unexpected link between harmonic functions on certain hyperbolic 3-manifolds and self-dual harmonic 2-forms on associated 4-manifolds.
In this paper, we systematically compute the Bianchi identities for the canonical connection on an almost Hermitian manifold. Moreover, we also compute the curvature tensor of the Levi-Civita connection on almost Hermitian manifolds in terms of curvature and torsion of the canonical connection. As applications of the curvature identities, we obtain some results about the integrability of quasi Kaehler manifolds and some properties of nearly Kaehler manifolds.
The basic class of the non-integrable almost complex manifolds with a pair of Norden metrics are considered. The interconnections between corresponding quantities at the transformation between the two Levi-Civita connections are given. A 4-parametric family of 4-dimensional quasi-Kaehler manifolds with Norden metric is characterized with respect to the associated Levi-Civita connection.

A type of almost contact hypersurfaces with Norden metric of a Kaehler manifold with Norden metric is considered. The curvature tensor and the special sectional curvatures are characterized. The canonical connection on such manifolds is studied and the form of the corresponding Kaehler curvature tensor is obtained. Some curvature properties of the manifolds belonging to the widest integrable main class of the considered type of hypersurfaces are given.
For complete complex connections on almost complex manifolds we introduce a natural definition of compactification. This is based on almost c--projective geometry, which is the almost complex analogue of projective differential geometry. The boundary at infinity is a (possibly non-integrable) CR structure. Given a compact Kaehler manifold X, it is shown that pairs of the form (E, D), where E is a trivial holomorphic vector bundle on X, and D is an integrable holomorphic connection on $E$, produce a neutral Tannakian category. The corresponding pro-algebraic affine group scheme is studied. In particular, it is shown that this pro-algebraic affine group scheme for a compact Riemann surface determines uniquely the isomorphism class of the Riemann surface.
We study special almost Kaehler manifolds whose curvature tensor satisfies the second curvature condition of Gray. It is shown that for such manifolds, the torsion of the first canonical Hermitian is parallel. This enables us to show that every AK_2-manifold has parallel torsion. Some applications of this result, concerning the existence of orthogonal almost Kaehler structures on spaces of constant curvature are given.

We construct left invariant quaternionic contact (qc) structures on Lie groups with zero and non-zero torsion and with non-vanishing quaternionic contact conformal curvature tensor, thus showing the existence of non-flat quaternionic contact manifolds. We prove that the product of the real line with a seven dimensional manifold, equipped with a certain qc structure, has a quaternionic Kaehler metric as well as a metric with holonomy contained in Spin(7). This is the first of a sequence of two papers. Here, a simple algebraic characterization of the Fano manifolds in the class of homogeneous toric bundles over a flag manifold G^C/P is provided in terms of symplectic data. The result of this paper is used in the second paper, where it is proved that an homogeneous toric bundle over a flag manifold admits a Kaehler-Ricci solitonic metric if and only if it is Fano.

In the present paper, we characterize almost Kenmotsu manifolds admitting holomorphically planar conformal vector (HPCV) fields. We have shown that if an almost Kenmotsu manifold $M^{2n+1}$ admits a non-zero HPCV field $V$ such that $ϕV = 0$, then $M^{2n+1}$ is locally a warped product of an almost Kaehler manifold and an open interval. As a corollary of this we obtain few classifications of an almost Kenmotsu manifold to be a Kenmotsu manifold and also prove that the integral manifolds of D are totally umbilical submanifolds of $M^{2n+1}$. We define the C^*-action on moduli spaces of reductive representations of fundamental groups of quasi-compact Kaehler manifolds by solving Hermitian-Yang-Mills equation. As applications in algebraic geometry we show a non-abelian Hodge (p,q)-type theorem for families of quasi-projective manifolds. We also prove that any discrete sub group of a Lie group of rank >1 that is not of Hodge type can't be the fundamental group of a quasi-compact Kaehler manifold.

This paper is a study of almost contact statistical manifolds. Especially this study is focused on almost cosymplectic statistical manifolds. We obtained basic properties of such manifolds. It is proved a characterization theorem and a corollary for the almost cosymplectic statistical manifold with Kaehler leaves. We also study curvature properties of an almost cosymplectic statistical manifold. Moreover, examples are constructed.
