Quantum affine reflection algebras are coideal subalgebras of quantum affine algebras that lead to trigonometric reflection matrices (solutions of the boundary Yang-Baxter equation). In this paper we use the quantum affine reflection algebras of type d_n^(1) to determine new n-parameter families of non-diagonal reflection matrices. These matrices describe the reflection of vector solitons off the boundary in d_n^(1) affine Toda field theory. They can also be used to construct new integrable vertex models and quantum spin chains with open boundary conditions.
Invariant affine reflection algebras are the last and the most general known extension of affine Kac-Moody Lie algebras, introduced in recent years. We develop a method known as "affinization" to the class of invariant affine reflection algebras, and show that starting with an algebra from this class together with a certain finite order automorphism, and applying the so called "loop construction", we obtain again an invariant affine reflection algebra. This can be considered as an important step towards the realization of invariant affine reflection algebras.
In this paper, we offer a presentation for the Weyl group of an affine reflection system $R$ of type $A_1$ as well as a presentation for the so called hyperbolic Weyl group associated with an affine reflection system of type $A_1$. Applying these presentations to extended affine Weyl groups, and using a description of the center of the hyperbolic Weyl group, we also give a new finite presentation for an extended affine Weyl group of type $A_1$. Our presentation for the (hyperbolic) Weyl group of an affine reflection system of type $A_1$ is the first non-trivial presentation given in such a gen…
The notion of a "root base" together with its geometry plays a crucial role in the theory of finite and affine Lie theory. However, it is known that such a notion does not exist for the recent generalizations of finite and affine root systems such as extended affine root systems and affine reflection systems. As an alternative, we introduce the notion of a "reflectable base", a minimal subset $Π$ of roots such that the non-isotropic part of the root system can be recovered by reflecting roots of $Π$ relative to the hyperplanes determined by $Π$. We give a full characterization of reflectable b…
We introduce the notion of extended affine Lie superalgebras and investigate the properties of their root systems. Extended affine Lie algebras, invariant affine reflection algebras, finite dimensional basic classical simple Lie superalgebras and affine Lie superalgebras are examples of extended affine Lie superalgebras.
The goal of this paper is to present some results and (more importantly) state a number of conjectures suggesting that the representation theory of symplectic reflection algebras for wreath products categorifies certain structures in the representation theory of affine Lie algebras (namely, decompositions of the restriction of the basic representation to finite dimensional and affine subalgebras). These conjectures arose from the insight due to R. Bezrukavnikov and A. Okounkov on the link between quantum connections for Hilbert schemes of resolutions of Kleinian singularities and representatio…
The interaction of a Lie algebra $\LL,$ having a weight space decomposition with respect to a nonzero toral subalgebra, with its corresponding root system forms a powerful tool in the study of the structure of $\LL.$ This, in particular, suggests a systematic study of the root system apart from its connection with the Lie algebra. Although there have been a lot of researches in this regard on Lie algebra level, such an approach has not been considered on Lie superalgebra level. In this work, we introduce and study extended affine root supersystems which are a generalization of both affine refl…
A trick to obtain a systematic solution to the set-theoretical reflection equation is presented from a known one to the Yang-Baxter equation. Examples are given from crystals and geometric crystals associated to the quantum affine algebra of type $A^{(1)}_{n-1}$.
We construct new non-diagonal solutions to the boundary Yang-Baxter-Equation corresponding to a two-dimensional field theory with U_q(a_2^(1)) quantum affine symmetry on a half-line. The requirements of boundary unitarity and boundary crossing symmetry are then used to find overall scalar factors which lead to consistent reflection matrices. Using the boundary bootstrap equations we also compute the reflection factors for scalar bound states (breathers). These breathers are expected to be identified with the fundamental quantum particles in a_2^(1) affine Toda field theory and we therefore obt…
This is a condensed write-up of a talk delivered at the Ramanujan International Symposium on Kac-Moody Lie algebras and Applications in Chennai in January 2002. The talk introduces special coideal subalgebras of quantum affine algebras which appear in physics when solitons are restricted to live on a half-line by an integrable boundary condition. We review how the quantum affine symmetry determines the soliton S-matrix in affine Toda field theory and then go on to use the unbroken coideal subalgebra on the half-line to determine the soliton reflection matrix. This gives a representation theore…
Within the quantum affine algebra representation theory we construct linear covariant operators that generate the Askey-Wilson algebra. It has the property of a coideal subalgebra, which can be interpreted as the boundary symmetry algebra of a model with quantum affine symmetry in the bulk. The generators of the Askey-Wilson algebra are implemented to construct an operator valued $K$- matrix, a solution of a spectral dependent reflection equation. We consider the open driven diffusive system where the Askey-Wilson algebra arises as a boundary symmetry and can be used for an exact solution of t…
Explicit solutions of the non-constant semi-dynamical reflection equation are constructed, together with suitable parametrizations of their structure matrices. Considering the semi-dynamical reflection equation with rational non-constant Arutyunov-Chekhov-Frolov structure matrices, and a specific meromorphic ansatz, it is found that only two sets of the previously found constant solutions are extendible to the non-constant case. In order to simplify future constructions of spin-chain Hamiltonians, a parametrization procedure is applied explicitly to all elements of the semi-dynamical reflectio…
We construct the scattering matrices for an arbitrary Weyl group in terms of elementary operators which obey the generalised Yang-Baxter equation. We use this construction to obtain the affine Hecke algebras. The center of the affine Hecke algebras coincides with commuting Hamiltonians. These Hamiltonians have q-deformed affine Lie algebras as symmetry algebra.
We present a generalization the G. Letzter's theory of quantum symmetric pairs of semisimple Lie algebras for the case of quantum affine algebras. We then study solutions of the reflection equation for the quantum affine algebras sl(2) and gl(1|1) and their Yangian limit for singlet (diagonal) and vector (non-diagonal) boundary conditions. We construct the corresponding quantum affine coideal subalgebras that are based on the quantum symmetric pairs, and the (generalized) twisted Yangians.
We give an explicit criterion for the irreducibility of some induction products of evaluation modules of affine Hecke algebras of type A. This allows to describe the form of the singularities of the trigonometric R-matrix associated to any evaluation module of U_v(sl^_N).
We show how to construct the exact factorized S-matrices of 1+1 dimensional quantum field theories whose symmetry charges generate a quantum affine algebra. Quantum affine Toda theories are examples of such theories. We take into account that the Lorentz spins of the symmetry charges determine the gradation of the quantum affine algebras. This gives the S-matrices a non-rigid pole structure. It depends on a kind of ``quantum'' dual Coxeter number which will therefore also determine the quantum mass ratios in these theories. As an example we explicitly construct S-matrices with $U_q(c_n^{(1)})$…
The characters $χ_μ$ of nontwisted affine algebras at fixed level define in a natural way a representation $R$ of the modular group $SL_2(Z)$. The matrices in the image $R(SL_2(Z))$ are called the Kac-Peterson modular matrices, and describe the modular behaviour of the characters. In this paper we consider all levels of $(A_{r_1}\oplus\cdots\oplus A_{r_s})^{(1)}$, and for each of these find all permutations of the highest weights which commute with the corresponding Kac-Peterson matrices. This problem is equivalent to the classification of automorphism invariants of conformal field theories, a…
The general solutions of the reflection equation associated with Temperley-Lieb $R$-matrices are constructed. Their parametrization is defined and the Hamiltonians of corresponding integrable spin systems are given.
We define cluster $R$-matrices as sequences of mutations in triangular grid quivers on a cylinder, and show that the affine geometric $R$-matrix of symmetric power representations for the quantum affine algebra $U_q^\prime(\hat{\mathfrak{sl}}_n)$ can be obtained from our cluster $R$-matrix. A quantization of the affine geometric $R$-matrix is defined, compatible with the cluster structure. We construct invariants of the quantum affine geometric $R$-matrix as quantum loop symmetric functions.
Non-polynomial Baxterized solutions of reflection equations associated with affine Hecke and affine Birman-Murakami-Wenzl algebras are found. Relations to integrable spin chain models with nontrivial boundary conditions are discussed.
We study a certain family of finite-dimensional simple representations over quantum affine superalgebras associated to general linear Lie superalgebras, the so-called fundamental representations: the denominators of rational $R$-matrices between two fundamental representations are computed; a cyclicity (and so simplicity) condition on tensor products of fundamental representations is proved.
We classify non-operatorial matrices K solving Skylanin's quantum reflection equation for all R-matrices obtained from the newly defined general rank- n Hadamard type representations of the Temperley-Lieb algebra $TL_N(\sqrt n)$. They are characterized by a universal set of algebraic equations in a specific canonical basis uniquely defined from the "Master matrix" associated to the chosen realization of Temperley-Lieb algebra
Let us consider a finite set of pairs consisting of good $U'_q(g)$-modules and invertible elements. The distribution of poles of normalized R-matrices yields Khovanov-Lauda-Rouquier algebras We define a functor from the category of finite-dimensional modules over the KLR algebra to the category of finite-dimensional $U_q'(g)$-modules. We show that the functor sends convolution products to tensor products and is exact if the KLR albera is of type A, D, E.
We propose a method of quantization of certain Lie bialgebra structures on the polynomial Lie algebras related to quasi-trigonometric solutions of the classical Yang--Baxter equation. The method is based on an affine realization of certain seaweed algebras and their quantum analogues. We also propose a method of $ω$-affinization, which enables us to quantize rational $r$-matrices of $\mathfrak{sl}(3)$.
We construct boundary type operators satisfying fused reflection equation for arbitrary representations of the Baxterized affine Hecke algebra. These operators are analogues of the fused reflection matrices in solvable half-line spin chain models. We show that these operators lead to a family of commuting transfer matrices of Sklyanin type. We derive fusion type functional relations for these operators for two families of representations.
We present a classification of diagonal, antidiagonal and mixed reflection matrices related to Yangian and super-Yangian R matrices associated to the infinite series so(m), sp(n) and osp(m|n). We formulate the analytical Bethe Ansatz resolution for the so(m) and sp(n) open spin chains with boundary conditions described by the diagonal solutions.
Soliton time-delays and the semiclassical limit for soliton S-matrices are calculated for non-simply laced Affine Toda Field Theories. The phase shift is written as a sum over bilinears on the soliton conserved charges. The results apply to any two solitons of any Affine Toda Field Theory. As a by-product, a general expression for the number of bound states and the values of the coupling in which the S-matrix can be diagonal are obtained. In order to arrive at these results, a vertex operator is constructed, in the principal gradation, for non-simply laced affine Lie algebras, extending the pr…
We construct sets of structure matrices for the semi-dynamical reflection algebra, solving the Yang-Baxter type consistency equations extended by the action of an automorphism of the auxiliary space. These solutions are parametrized by dynamical conjugation matrices, Drinfel'd twist representations and quantum non-dynamical $R$-matrices. They yield factorized forms for the monodromy matrices.
Affine quantum groups are certain pseudo-quasitriangular Hopf algebras that arise in mathematical physics in the context of integrable quantum field theory, integrable quantum spin chains, and solvable lattice models. They provide the algebraic framework behind the spectral parameter dependent Yang-Baxter equation. One can distinguish three classes of affine quantum groups, each leading to a different dependence of the R-matrices on the spectral parameter: Yangians lead to rational R-matrices, quantum affine algebras lead to trigonometric R-matrices and elliptic quantum groups lead to elliptic…
We present a generalization of the theory of quantum symmetric pairs as developed by Kolb and Letzter. We introduce a class of generalized Satake diagrams that give rise to (not necessarily involutive) automorphisms of the second kind of symmetrizable Kac-Moody algebras $\mathfrak{g}$. These lead to right coideal subalgebras $B_{\mathbf{c},\mathbf{s}}$ of quantized enveloping algebras $U_q(\mathfrak{g})$. In the case that $\mathfrak{g}$ is a twisted or untwisted affine Lie algebra of classical type Jimbo found intertwiners (equivariant maps) of the vector representation of $U_q(\mathfrak{g})$ …
We determine the intertwiners of a family of Onsager coideal subalgebras of the quantum affine algebra $U_p(A^{(1)}_{n-1})$ in the fundamental representations and $U_p(B^{(1)}_{n}), U_p(D^{(1)}_{n}), U_p(D^{(2)}_{n+1})$ in the spin representations. They reproduce the reflection $K$ matrices obtained recently by the matrix product construction connected to the three dimensional integrability. In particular the present approach provides the first proof of the reflection equation for the non type $A$ cases.
Let $U'_q(\mathfrak{g})$ be a twisted affine quantum group of type $A_{N}^{(2)}$ or $D_{N}^{(2)}$ and let $\mathfrak{g}_{0}$ be the finite-dimensional simple Lie algebra of type $A_{N}$ or $D_{N}$. For a Dynkin quiver of type $\mathfrak{g}_{0}$, we define a full subcategory ${\mathcal C}_{Q}^{(2)}$ of the category of finite-dimensional integrable $U'_q(\mathfrak{g})$-modules, a twisted version of the category ${\mathcal C}_{Q}$ introduced by Hernandez and Leclerc. Applying the general scheme of affine Schur-Weyl duality, we construct an exact faithful KLR-type duality functor ${\mathcal F}_{Q}…
According to Etingof and Varchenko, the classical dynamical Yang-Baxter equation is a guarantee for the consistency of the Poisson bracket on certain Poisson-Lie groupoids. Here it is noticed that Dirac reductions of these Poisson manifolds give rise to a mapping from dynamical r-matrices on a pair $Ł\subset \A$ to those on another pair $\K\subset \A$, where $\K\subset Ł\subset \A$ is a chain of Lie algebras for which $Ł$ admits a reductive decomposition as $Ł=\K+\M$. Several known dynamical r-matrices appear naturally in this setting, and its application provides new r-matrices, too. In parti…
For the classical principal chiral model with boundary, we give the subset of the Yangian charges which remains conserved under certain integrable boundary conditions, and extract them from the monodromy matrix. Quantized versions of these charges are used to deduce the structure of rational solutions of the reflection equation, analogous to the 'tensor product graph' for solutions of the Yang-Baxter equation. We give a variety of such solutions, including some for reflection from non-trivial boundary states, for the SU(N) case, and confirm these by constructing them by fusion from the basic s…
We consider boundary scattering for a semi-infinite one-dimensional deformed Hubbard chain with boundary conditions of the same type as for the Y=0 giant graviton in the AdS/CFT correspondence. We show that the recently constructed quantum affine algebra of the deformed Hubbard chain has a coideal subalgebra which is consistent with the reflection (boundary Yang-Baxter) equation. We derive the corresponding reflection matrix and furthermore show that the aforementioned algebra in the rational limit specializes to the (generalized) twisted Yangian of the Y=0 giant graviton.
We construct nonstandard finite-dimensional representations of type C affine Hecke algebra from the viewpoint of quantum integrable models. There exists two classes of nonstandard solutions to the Yang-Baxter equation called the Cremmer-Gervais and Jordanian R-matrices. These R-matrices also satisfy the Hecke-relation, thus can be used to construct nonstandard finite-dimensional representations of type A affine Hecke algebra. We construct the corresponding nonstandard representations for type C affine Hecke algebra by explicitly constructing solutions to the reflection equation under the Hecke…
The minimal irreducible representations of $U_q[gl(m|n)]$, i.e. those irreducible representations that are also irreducible under $U_q[osp(m|n)]$ are investigated and shown to be affinizable to give irreducible representations of the twisted quantum affine superalgebra $U_q[gl(m|n)^{(2)}]$. The $U_q[osp(m|n)]$ invariant R-matrices corresponding to the tensor product of any two minimal representations are constructed, thus extending our twisted tensor product graph method to the supersymmetric case. These give new solutions to the spectral-dependent graded Yang-Baxter equation arising from $U_q…
We describe the twisted affine superalgebra $sl(2|2)^{(2)}$ and its quantized version $U_q[sl(2|2)^{(2)}]$. We investigate the tensor product representation of the 4-dimensional grade star representation for the fixed point subsuperalgebra $U_q[osp(2|2)]$. We work out the tensor product decomposition explicitly and find the decomposition is not completely reducible. Associated with this 4-dimensional grade star representation we derive two $U_q[osp(2|2)]$ invariant R-matrices: one of them corresponds to $U_q[sl(2|2)^{(2)}]$ and the other to $U_q[osp(2|2)^{(1)}]$. Using the R-matrix for $U_q[sl…
