The space D(k,p) of differential operators of order at most k, from the differential forms of degree p of a smooth manifold M into the functions of M, is a module over the Lie algebra of vector fields of M, when it's equipped with the natural Lie derivative. In this paper, we compute all equivariant i.e. intertwining operators from D(k,p) into D(k',p') and conclude that the preceding modules of differential operators are never isomorphic. We also answer a question of P. Lecomte, who observed that the restriction to D(k,p) of some homotopy operator, introduced in one of his works, is equivariant for small values of k and p.
Let $Γ$ be a group acting on a scheme $X$ and on a Lie superalgebra $\mathfrak{g}$, both defined over an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero $\Bbbk$. The corresponding equivariant map superalgebra $M(\mathfrak{g}, X)^Γ$ is the Lie superalgebra of equivariant regular maps from $X$ to $\mathfrak{g}$. In this paper we complete the classification of finite-dimensional irreducible $M(\mathfrak{g}, X)^Γ$-modules when $\mathfrak{g}$ is a finite-dimensional simple Lie superalgebra, $X$ is of finite type and $Γ$ is a finite abelian group acting freely on the rational points of $X$, by cla…
We study equivariant modules over $GL(V)$ over the polynomial ring $R = Sym V$. We introduce for every partition $λ$ the elementary equivariant module $M_λ$. Then we prove that any finitely generated equivariant module admits a fltration with associated graded being the direct sum of modules of only two kinds: either $M_λ$ or truncations of $M_λ$. We show that each $M_λ$ has a linear resolution and describe also the resolution of its truncations.
We define coadmissible equivariant $\mathcal{D}$-modules on smooth rigid analytic spaces and relate them to admissible locally analytic representations of semisimple $p$-adic Lie groups.
Let $X$ be a smooth scheme with an action of an algebraic group $G$. We establish an equivalence of two categories related to the corresponding moment map $μ: T^*X \to Lie(G)^*$ - the derived category of G-equivariant coherent sheaves on the derived fiber $μ^{-1}(0)$ and the derived category of $G$-equivariant matrix factorizations on $T^*X \times Lie(G)$ with potential given by $μ$.
We review the Beilinson-Ginzburg construction of equivariant derived categories of Harish-Chandra modules, and introduce analogues of Zuckerman functors in this setting. They are given by an explicit formula, which works equally well in the case of modules with a given infinitesimal character, which is important if one wants to apply Beilinson-Bernstein localization. We also show how to recover the usual Zuckerman functors from the equivariant ones by passing to cohomology.
An equivariant map queer Lie superalgebra is the Lie superalgebra of regular maps from an algebraic variety (or scheme) $X$ to a queer Lie superalgebra $\mathfrak{q}$ that are equivariant with respect to the action of a finite group $Γ$ acting on $X$ and $\mathfrak{q}$. In this paper, we classify all irreducible finite-dimensional representations of the equivariant map queer Lie superalgebras under the assumption that $Γ$ is abelian and acts freely on $X$. We show that such representations are parameterized by a certain set of $Γ$-equivariant finitely supported maps from $X$ to the set of isom…
The first part of these notes is devoted to an introduction to algebraic $D$-modules. Several basic notions are introduced. In the second part, $D$-modules with group action are treated. Several important examples in this situation are discussed in details. Particularly, the Harish-Chandra systems for group characters and the Gelfand generalized hypergeometric systems are our main topics.
Let $\Oq(G)$ be the algebra of quantized functions on an algebraic group $G$ and $\Oq(B)$ its quotient algebra corresponding to a Borel subgroup $B$ of $G$. We define the category of sheaves on the "quantum flag variety of $G$" to be the $\Oq(B)$-equivariant $\Oq(G)$-modules and proves that this is a proj-category. We construct a category of equivariant quantum $\mathcal{D}$-modules on this quantized flag variety and prove the Beilinson-Bernsteins localization theorem for this category in the case when $q$ is not a root of unity.
Let K be a compact Lie group. We compute the abelianization of the Lie algebra of equivariant vector fields on a smooth K-manifold X. We also compute the abelianization of the Lie algebra of strata preserving smooth vector fields on the quotient X/K.
In this paper we deal with Radon transforms for generalized flag manifolds in the framework of quasi-equivariant D-modules. We shall follow the method employed by Baston-Eastwood and analyze the Radon transform using the Bernstein-Gelfand-Gelfand resolution and the Borel-Weil-Bott theorem. We shall determine the transform completely on the level of the Grothendieck groups. Moreover, we point out a vanishing criterion and give a sufficient condition in order that a D-module associated to an equivariant locally free O-module is transformed into an object of the same type. The case of maximal par…
We prove an Induction Equivalence and a Kashiwara Equivalence for coadmissible equivariant D-modules on rigid analytic spaces. This allows us to completely classify such objects with support in a single orbit of a classical point with co-compact stabiliser. As an application, we use the locally analytic Beilinson-Bernstein equivalence to construct new examples of large families of topologically irreducible locally analytic representations of certain compact semisimple p-adic Lie groups.
We show that equivariant tilting modules over equivariant algebras induce equivalences of derived factorization categories. As an application, we show that the derived category of a noncommutative resolution of a linear section of a Pfaffian variety is equivalent to the derived factorization category of a noncommutative gauged Landau-Ginzburg model $(Λ,χ, w)^{\mathbb{G}_m}$, where $Λ$ is a noncommutative resolution of the quotient singularity $W/\operatorname{GSp}(Q)$ arising from a certain representation $W$ of the symplectic similitude group $\operatorname{GSp}(Q)$ of a symplectic vector spa…
Equivariant map algebras are Lie algebras of algebraic maps from a scheme (or algebraic variety) to a target finite-dimensional Lie algebra (in the case of the current paper, we assume the latter is a simple Lie algebra) that are equivariant with respect to the action of a finite group. In the first part of this paper, we define global Weyl modules for equivariant map algebras satisfying a mild assumption. We then identify a commutative algebra A that acts naturally on the global Weyl modules, which leads to a Weyl functor from the category of A-modules to the category of modules for the equiv…
Let $X$ be a variety with an action by an algebraic group $G$. In this paper we discuss various properties of $G$-equivariant $D$-modules on $X$, such as the decompositions of their global sections as representations of $G$ (when $G$ is reductive), and descriptions of the categories that they form. When $G$ acts on $X$ with finitely many orbits, the category of equivariant $D$-modules is isomorphic to the category of finite-dimensional representations of a finite quiver with relations. We describe explicitly these categories for irreducible $G$-modules $X$ that are spherical varieties, and sho…
We introduce and study various categories of (equivariant) motives of (versal) flag varieties. We relate these categories with certain categories of parabolic (Demazure) modules. We show that the motivic decomposition type of a versal flag variety depends on the direct sum decomposition type of the parabolic module. To do this we use localization techniques of Kostant-Kumar in the context of generalized oriented cohomology as well as the Rost nilpotence principle for algebraic cobordism and its generic version. As an application, we obtain new proofs and examples of indecomposable Chow motives…
We study the category of Sp-equivariant modules over the infinite variable polynomial ring, where Sp denotes the infinite symplectic group. We establish a number of results about this category: for instance, we show that every finitely generated module M fits into an exact triangle $T \to M \to F \to$ where T is a finite length complex of torsion modules and F is a finite length complex of "free" modules; we determine the Grothendieck group; and we (partially) determine the structure of injective modules. We apply these results to show that the twisted commutative algebras ${\rm Sym}({\bf C}^{…
We consider the space X = Sym^3(C^2) of binary cubic forms, equipped with the natural action of the group GL_2 of invertible linear transformations of C^2. We describe explicitly the category of GL_2-equivariant coherent D_X-modules as the category of representations of a quiver with relations. We show moreover that this quiver is of tame representation type and we classify its indecomposable representations. We also give a construction of the simple equivariant D_X-modules (of which there are 14), and give formulas for the characters of their underlying GL_2-representations. We conclude the a…
Let V be the space of 2x2x2 complex hypermatrices, endowed with the natural group action of GL=GL(2,C)^3. The category of GL-equivariant coherent D-modules on V is equivalent to the category of representations of a quiver with relations. In this article, we give a construction of each simple object and study their GL-equivariant structure. Using this information, we go on to explicitly describe the corresponding quiver with relations. As an application, we compute all iterations of local cohomology with support in the orbit closures of V.
We investigate compact projective generators in the category of equivariant $D$-modules on a smooth affine variety. For a reductive group $G$ acting on a smooth affine variety $X$, there is a natural countable set of compact projective generators indexed by finite dimensional representations of $G$. We show that only finitely many of these objects are required to generate; thus the category has a single compact projective generator. The proof in the general case goes via an analogous statement about compact generators in the equivariant derived category, which holds in much greater generality …
We determine, under a certain assumption, the Alexeev-Brion moduli scheme M_S of affine spherical G-varieties with a prescribed weight monoid S. In [ arXiv:1008.0911 ] we showed that if G is a connected complex reductive group of type A and S is the weight monoid of a spherical G-module, then M_S is an affine space. Here we prove that this remains true without any restriction on the type of G.
Let X be the third exterior power of a six-dimensional complex vector space, equipped with the natural action of the group GL_6(C) of invertible linear transformations of C^6. We describe explicitly the category of GL_6(C)-equivariant coherent D_X-modules as the category of representations of a quiver with relations, which has finite representation type. We give a construction of the six simple equivariant D_X-modules and give formulas for the characters of their underlying GL_6(C)-structures. We describe the (iterated) local cohomology groups with supports given by orbit closures, determining…
Suppose a finite group acts on a scheme X and a finite-dimensional Lie algebra g. The associated equivariant map algebra is the Lie algebra of equivariant regular maps from X to g. Examples include generalized current algebras and (twisted) multiloop algebras. Local Weyl modules play an important role in the theory of finite-dimensional representations of loop algebras and quantum affine algebras. In the current paper, we extend the definition of local Weyl modules (previously defined only for generalized current algebras and twisted loop algebras) to the setting of equivariant map algebras wh…
The Bonnafé-Rouquier equivalence can be seen as a modular analogue of Lusztig's Jordan decomposition for groups of Lie type. In this paper, we show that this equivalence can be lifted to include automorphisms of the finite group of Lie type. Moreover, we prove the existence of a local version of this equivalence which satisfies similar properties.
The equivariant $K$-theory of the semi-infinite flag manifold, as developed recently by Kato, Naito, and Sagaki, carries commuting actions of the nil-double affine Hecke algebra (nil-DAHA) and a $q$-Heisenberg algebra. The action of the latter generates a free submodule of rank $|W|$, where $W$ is the (finite) Weyl group. We show that this submodule is stable under the nil-DAHA, which enables one to express the nil-DAHA action in terms of $W\times W$ matrices over the $q$-Heisenberg algebra. Our main result gives an explicit algebraic construction of these matrices as a limit from the (non-nil…
Suppose a group $Γ$ acts on a scheme $X$ and a Lie superalgebra $\mathfrak{g}$. The corresponding equivariant map superalgebra is the Lie superalgebra of equivariant regular maps from $X$ to $\mathfrak{g}$. We classify the irreducible finite dimensional modules for these superalgebras under the assumptions that the coordinate ring of $X$ is finitely generated, $Γ$ is finite abelian and acts freely on the rational points of $X$, and $\mathfrak{g}$ is a basic classical Lie superalgebra (or $\mathfrak{sl}(n,n)$, $n > 0$, if $Γ$ is trivial). We show that they are all (tensor products of) generaliz…
Let $\A$ be an irreducible Coxeter arrangement and $W$ be its Coxeter group. Then $W$ naturally acts on $\A$. A multiplicity $\bfm : \A\rightarrow \Z$ is said to be equivariant when $\bfm$ is constant on each $W$-orbit of $\A$. In this article, we prove that the multi-derivation module $D(\A, \bfm)$ is a free module whenever $\bfm$ is equivariant by explicitly constructing a basis, which generalizes the main theorem of \cite{T02}. The main tool is a primitive derivation and its covariant derivative. Moreover, we show that the $W$-invariant part $D(\A, \bfm)^{W}$ for any multiplicity $\bfm$ is …
We present a biequivariant version of Kremnizer-Tanisaki localization theorem for quantum D-modules. We also obtain an equivalence between a category of finitely generated equivariant modules over a quantum group and a category of finitely generated modules over a q-W algebra defined in arXiv:1011.2431. This equivalence can be regarded as an equivariant quantum group version of Skryabin equivalence. The biequivariant localization theorem for quantum D-modules together with the equivariant quantum group version of Skryabin equivalence yield an equivalence between a certain category of quantum b…
Let G be a complex reductive algebraic group. Fix a Borel subgroup B of G, with unipotent radical U, and a maximal torus T in B with character group X(T). Let S be a submonoid of X(T) generated by finitely many dominant weights. V. Alexeev and M. Brion introduced a moduli scheme M_S which classifies pairs (X,f) where X is an affine G-variety and f is a T-equivariant isomorphism between the categorical quotient of X by U and the toric variety determined by S. In this paper, we prove that M_S is isomorphic to an affine space when S is the weight monoid of a spherical G-module with G of type A.
Let $G$ be a compact Lie group, $H$ a closed subgroup of maximal rank and $X$ a topological $G$-space. We obtain a variety of results concerning the structure of the $H$-equivariant K-ring $K_H^*(X)$ viewed as a module over the $G$-equivariant K-ring $K_G^*(X)$. One result is that the module has a nonsingular bilinear pairing; another is that the module contains multiplets which are analogous to the Gross-Kostant-Ramond-Sternberg multiplets of representation theory.
We construct two categorifications of the Lusztig--Vogan module associated to a real reductive algebraic group. The first categorification is given by semisimple complexes in an equivariant derived category, and the second is constructed as a module category over Soergel bimodules. Our categorifications are related by taking equivariant hypercohomology.
In this paper, we explore natural connections among trigonometric Lie algebras, (general) affine Lie algebras, and vertex algebras. Among the main results, we obtain a realization of trigonometric Lie algebras as what were called the covariant algebras of the affine Lie algebra $\widehat{\mathcal{A}}$ of Lie algebra $\mathcal{A}=\frak{gl}_{\infty}\oplus\frak{gl}_{\infty}$ with respect to certain automorphism groups. We then prove that restricted modules of level $\ell$ for trigonometric Lie algebras naturally correspond to equivariant quasi modules for the affine vertex algebras $V_{\widehat{\…
Let g be a Lie bialgebra and let V be a finite-dimensional g-module. We study deformations of the symmetric algebra of V which are equivariant with respect to an action of the quantized enveloping algebra of g. In particular we investigate such quantizations obtained from the quantization of certain Lie bialgebra structures on the semidirect product of g and V. We classify these structure in the important special case, when g is complex, simple, with quasitriangular Lie bialgebra structure and V is a simple g-module. We then introduce more a general notion, co-Poisson module algebras and their…
Twisted commutative algebras (tca's) have played an important role in the nascent field of representation stability. Let A_d be the complex tca freely generated by d indeterminates of degree 1. In a previous paper, we determined the structure of the category of A_1-modules (which is equivalent to the category of FI-modules). In this paper, we establish analogous results for the category of A_d-modules, for any d. Modules over A_d are closely related to the structures used by the authors in previous works studying syzygies of Segre and Veronese embeddings, and we hope the results of this paper …
We prove that for most groups of Lie type, the bijections used by Malle and Spaeth in the proof of Isaacs-Malle-Navarro's inductive McKay conditions for the prime 2 and odd primes dividing q - 1 are also equivariant with respect to certain Galois automorphisms. In particular, this shows that these bijections are candidates for proving Navarro-Spaeth-Vallejo's recently-posited inductive Galois-McKay conditions. On the way, we show that several simple groups of Lie type satisfy the McKay--Navarro conjecture for the prime 2.
The purpose of this paper is to apply deformation quantization to the study of the coadjoint orbit method in the case of real reductive groups. We first prove some general results on the existence of equivariant deformation quantization of vector bundles on closed Lagrangian subvarieties, which lie in smooth symplectic varieties with Hamiltonian group actions. Then we apply them to orbit method and construct nontrivial irreducible Harish-Chandra modules for certain coadjoint orbits. Our examples include new geometric construction of representations associated to certain orbits of real exceptio…
As a step to establish the McKay conjecture on character degrees of finite groups, we verify the inductive McKay condition introduced by Isaacs-Malle-Navarro for simple groups of Lie type $A_{n-1}$, split or twisted. Key to the proofs is the study of certain characters of SL$_n(q)$ and SU$_n(q)$ related to generalized Gelfand-Graev representations. As a by-product we can show that a Jordan decomposition for the characters of the latter groups is equivariant under outer automorphisms. Many ideas seem applicable to other Lie types.
Let G be a complex algebraic semi-simple adjoint group and X a smooth complete symmetric G-variety. Let L_i be the irreducible G-equivariant intersection cohomology complexes on X, and L the direct sum of the L_i. Let E= Ext(L,L) be the extension algebra of L, computed in the G-equivariant derived category of X. We considered E as a dg-algebra with differential d=0, and the E_i = Ext(L,L_i) as E-dg-modules. We show that the bounded equivariant derived category of sheaves of C-vector spaces on X is equivalent to the subcategory of the derived category of E-dg-modules generated by the E_i.
We compute the equivariant complex K-theory ring of a cohomogeneity-one action of a compact Lie group at the level of generators and relations and derive a characterization of K-theoretic equivariant formality for these actions. Less explicit expressions survive for a range of equivariant cohomology theories including Bredon cohomology and Borel complex cobordism. The proof accordingly involves elements of equivariant homotopy theory, representation theory, and Lie theory. Aside from analysis of maps of representation rings and heavy use of the structure theory of compact Lie groups, a more cu…
We show that the equivariant hypertoric convolution algebras introduced by Braden-Licata-Proudfoot-Webster are affine quasi hereditary in the sense of Kleshchev and compute the Ext groups between standard modules. Together with the main result of arXiv:2009.03981, this implies a number of new homological results about the bordered Floer algebras of Ozsvath-Szabo, including the existence of standard modules over these algebras. We prove that the Ext groups between standard modules are isomorphic to the homology of a variant of the Lipshitz-Ozsvath-Thurston bordered strands dg algebras.
For a semi-simple simply connected algebraic group G we introduce certain parabolic analogues of the Nekrasov partition function (introduced by Nekrasov and studied recently by Nekrasov-Okounkov and Nakajima-Yoshioka for G=SL(n)). These functions count (roughly speaking) principal G-bundles on the projective plane with a trivialization at infinity and with a parabolic structure at the horizontal line. When the above parabolic subgroup is a Borel subgroup we show that the corresponding partition function is basically equal to the Whittaker matrix coefficient in the universal Verma module over c…
We give an algebraic description of several modules and algebras related to the vector partition function, and we prove that they can be realized as the equivariant K-theory of some manifolds that have a nice combinatorial description. We also propose a more natural and general notion of duality between these modules, which corresponds to a Poincaré duality-type correspondence for equivariant K-theory.
