We define complexes analogous to Goncharov's complexes for the K-theory of discrete valuation rings of characteristic zero. Under suitable assumptions in K-theory, there is a map from the cohomology of those complexes to the K-theory of the ring. In case the ring is the localization of the ring of integers in a number field, there are no assumptions necessary. We compute the composition of our map to the K-theory with the syntomic regulator. The result can be described in terms of a p-adic polylogarithm. Finally, we apply our theory in order to compute the regulator to syntomic cohomology on Beilinson's cyclotomic elements. The result is again given by the p-adic polylogarithm. This last result is related to one by Somekawa and generalizes work by Gros.
We show that classical Chern classes from higher ($p$-adic) $K$-theory to syntomic cohomology extend to logarithmic syntomic cohomology. These Chern classes are compatible -- in a suitable sense -- with addition, products, and $λ$-operations. They are also compatible with the canonical Gysin sequences and, via period maps, with logarithmic étale Chern classes. Moreover, they induce logarithmic crystalline Chern classes. This uses as a critical new ingredient the recent comparison of syntomic cohomology with $p$-adic nearby cycles and $p$-adic motivic cohomology.
We construct a variant of Karoubi's relative Chern character for smooth, separated schemes over the ring of integers in a p-adic field and prove a comparison with the rigid syntomic regulator. For smooth projective schemes we further relate the relative Chern character to the etale p-adic regulator via the Bloch-Kato exponential map. This reproves a result of Huber and Kings for the spectrum of the ring of integers and generalizes it to all smooth projective schemes as above.
We give an explicit description of a syntomic regulator of a certain class of fibrations which we call hypergeometric fibrations. The description involves hypergeometric functions.
Let $X$ be a variety defined over a local field $K$ of mixed characteristic $(0,p)$ with a totally degenerate reduction in the sense of Raskind and Xarles. Generalizing earlier work of Raskind and Xarles and relying on some conjectures we define a map, which we call the toric regulator, from the various motivic cohomology groups of $X$ to certain $p$-adically uniformized tori over $K$. This construction captures the part of the étale regulators on $X$ that land in the Galois cohomology of the submodules of cohomology which are extensions of $\mathbb{Z}_l$ by $\mathbb{Z}_l(1)$, simultaneously f…
We construct log rigid syntomic cohomology for strictly semistable schemes over the ring of integers of a p-adic field, and prove that it is interpreted as the extension group of the complex of admissible filtered $(ϕ,N)$-modules.
In this paper, we study an analogue of the Tate conjecture for $K_2$ of U, the complement of split multiplicative fibers in an elliptic surface. A main result is to give an upper bound of the rank of the Galois fixed part of the etale cohomology $H^2(\bar{U},Q_p(2))$. As an application, we give an elliptic K3 surface $X$ over a p-adic field for which the torsion part of the Chow group $CH_0(X)$ of 0-cycles is finite. This would be the first example of a surface $X$ over a p-adic field whose geometric genus is non-zero and for which the torsion part of $CH_0(X)$ is finite.
Syntomic cohomology here defined yields a link between rigid cohomology and etale cohomology, viewing the last one as the fixed points under Frobenius of the former one. Let V be a complete discrete valuation ring, with perfect residue field k = V/m of characteristic p > 0 and fraction field K of characteristic 0. Having defined syntomic cohomology with compact supports of an abelian sheaf G on a k-scheme X, we show that it coincides with etale cohomology with compact supports when G is a lisse sheaf. If moreover the convergent F-isocrystal associated to G comes from an overconvergent isocryst…
In this paper we study the group K_{2n}^{(n+1)}(F) where F is the function field of a complete, smooth, geometrically irreducible curve C over a number field, assuming the Beilinson--Soulé conjecture on weights. In particular, we compute the Beilinson regulator on a subgroup of K_{2n}^{(n+1)}(F), using the complexes constructed in previous work by the author. We study the boundary map in the localization sequence for n = 3 (the case n = 2 was done in a previous paper). We combine our results with some results of Goncharov in order to obtain a complete description of the image of the regulator …
We define an analogue of the `Real' Deligne cohomology group at a prime of semi-stable or good reduction of a variety. We also define regulator maps to this group and formulate a conjecture about the image. This allows us to formulate a non-Archimedian version of Beilinson's Hodge-D-conjecture, S-integral and function field versions of Beilinson's global conjectures as well as a precise special value conjecture in the function field case. Finally we give a few examples where these conjectures are known to be true.
The integral $t$-motivic cohomology and the class module of a (rigid analytically trivial) Anderson $t$-motive were introduced by the first author in [Gaz22b]. This paper is devoted to their determination in the particular case of tensor powers of the Carlitz $t$-motive, namely, the function field counterpart $\underline{A}(n)$ of Tate twists $\mathbb{Z}(n)$. We find out that these modules are in relation with fundamental objects of function field arithmetic: integral $t$-motivic cohomology governs linear relations among Carlitz polylogarithms, its torsion is expressed in terms of the denomina…
Our main goal in the present article is to explain how one can reconstruct the decomposition subgroups and norms of points on an arithmetic curve inside its fundamental group if the following data are given: the fundamental group, a part of the cyclotomic character and the family of the regulators of the fields corresponding to the generic points of all étale covers of the given curve. The approach is inspired by that of Tamagawa for curves over finite fields but uses Tsfasman-Vlăduţ theorem instead of Lefschetz trace formula. To the authors' knowledge, this is a new technique in the anabelian…
A main theme of the paper is a conjecture of Bloch-Kato on the image of $p$-adic regulator maps for a proper smooth variety $X$ over an algebraic number field $k$. The conjecture for a regulator map of particular degree and weight is related to finiteness of two arithmetic objects: One is the $p$-primary torsion part of the Chow group in codimension 2 of $X$. Another is an unramified cohomology group of $X$. As an application, for a regular model ${\mathscr X}$ of $X$ over the integer ring of $k$, we show an injectivity result on torsion of a cycle class map from the Chow group in codimension …
Borel's construction of the regulator gives an injective map from the algebraic $K$-groups of a number field to its Deligne-Beilinson cohomology groups. This has many interesting arithmetic and geometric consequences. The formula for the regulator is expressed in terms of the classical polyogarithm functions. In this paper, we give a survey of the additive dilogarithm and the several different versions of the weight two regulator in the infinitesimal setting. We follow a historical approach which we hope will provide motivation for the definitions and the constructions.
I compute explicitly the regulator map on $K_4(X)$ for an arbitrary curve $X$ over a number field. Using this and Beilinson's theorem about regulators for modular curves ([B2]) I prove a formula expressing the value of the $L$-function $L(E,s)$ of a modular elliptic curve $E$ over $\Bbb Q$ at $s=3$ by the double Eisenstein-Kronecker series.
