We study maps preserving the Heisenberg commutation relation $ab - ba=1$. We find a one-parameter deformation of the standard realization of the above algebra in terms of a coordinate and its dual derivative. It involves a non-local ``coordinate'' operator while the dual ``derivative'' is just the Jackson finite-difference operator. Substitution of this realization into any differential operator involving $x$ and $\frac{d}{dx}$, results in an {\em isospectral} deformation of a continuous differential operator into a finite-difference one. We extend our results to the deformed Heisenberg algebra $ab-qba=1$. As an example of potential applications, various deformations of the Hahn polynomials are briefly discussed.

Determinants and Inversion of Gram Matrices in Fock Representation of $\{q_{kl}\}$- Canonical Commutation Relations and Applications to Hyperplane Arrangements and Quantum Groups. Proof of an Extension of Zagier's Conjecture
Classical pseudo-differential calculus on $\mathbb{R}^{d}$ can be viewed as a (non-commutative) functional calculus for the standard position and momentum operators $(Q_{1}, \dots , Q_{d})$ and $(P_{1}, \dots , P_{d})$. We generalise this calculus to the setting of two $d$-tuples of operators $A=(A_{1}, \dots , A_{d})$ and $B=(B_{1}, \dots , B_{d})$ acting on a Banach space $X$ such that $iA_{1}, \dots , iA_{d}$ and $iB_{1}, \dots , iB_{d}$ generate bounded $C_0$-groups satisfying the Weyl canonical commutation relations $e^{isA_j}e^{itA_k} = e^{itA_k}e^{isA_j}$, $e^{isB_j}e^{itB_k} = e^{itB_k…
We construct homomorphic images of $su(n,n)^{\mathbb C}$ in Weyl Algebras ${\mathcal H}_{2nr}$. More precisely, and using the Bernstein filtration of ${\mathcal H}_{2nr}$, $su(n,n)^{\mathbb C}$ is mapped into degree $2$ elements with the negative non-compact root spaces being mapped into second order creation operators. Using the Fock representation of ${\mathcal H}_{2nr}$, these homomorphisms give all unitary highest weight representations of $su(n,n)^{\mathbb C}$ thus reconstructing the Kashiwara--Vergne List for the Segal--Shale--Weil representation. Just as in the derivation of the their l…
P.A.M. Dirac had stated that the Cartesian coordinates are uniquely suited for expressing the canonical commutation relations in a simple form. By contrast, expressing these commutation relations in any other coordinate system is more complicated and less obvious. The question that we address in this work, is the reason why this is true. We claim that this unique role of the Cartesian coordinates is a result of the existence and uniqueness of the Hofer metric on the space of canonical transformations of the phase space of the system getting quantized.
Algebra of quantum mechanics via classical phonons. II: Klein-Gordon dynamics, the Heisenberg formalism, the Dirac canonical commutation rule and the Poincare algebra through the continuous Poisson bracket formalism
The many-body Hamiltonians and other fermionic physical observables are expressed in terms of fermionic creation and annihilation operators, which form the algebra of canonical anti-commutation relations (CAR). In this work we use a canonical isomorphism between CAR and $\mathcal M_{2^\infty}$ algebras to derive analytic matrix representations of many-fermion operators. Code-lines implementing these matrix representations are supplied and Hubbard-type Hamiltonians are worked out explicitly.
Pauli's Theorem and Quantum Canonical Pairs: The Consistency Of a Bounded, Self-Adjoint Time Operator Canonically Conjugate to a Hamiltonian with Non-empty Point Spectrum
A notion of local algebras is introduced in the theory of causal fermion systems. Their properties are studied in the example of the regularized Dirac sea vacuum in Minkowski space. The commutation relations are worked out, and the differences to the canonical commutation relations are discussed. It is shown that the spacetime point operators associated to a Cauchy surface satisfy a time slice axiom. It is proven that the algebra generated by operators in an open set is irreducible as a consequence of Hegerfeldt's theorem. The light cone structure is recovered by analyzing expectation values o…
This paper considers states on the Weyl algebra of the canonical commutation relations over the phase space R^{2n}. We show that a state is regular iff its classical limit is a countably additive Borel probability measure on R^{2n}. It follows that one can "reduce" the state space of the Weyl algebra by altering the collection of quantum mechanical observables so that all states are ones whose classical limit is physical.
