A new structure, based on joining copies of a group by means of a \emph{twist}, has recently been considered to describe the brackets of the two exceptional real Lie algebras of type $G_2$ in a highly symmetric way. In this work we show that these are not isolated examples, providing a wide range of Lie algebras which are generalized group algebras over the group $\mathbb{Z}_2^3$. On the one hand, some orthogonal Lie algebras are quite naturally generalized group algebras over such group. On the other hand, previous classifications on graded contractions can be applied to this context getting many more examples, involving solvable and nilpotent Lie algebras of dimensions 32, 28, 24, 21, 16 and 14.
In the paper we describe structures of quasitriangular Lie bialgebra on $gl_2(\mathbb C)$ using the classification of Rota-Baxter operators of nonzero weight on $gl_2(\mathbb C)$.
We give an explicit description of commutative post-Lie algebra structures on some classes of nilpotent Lie algebras. For non-metabelian filiform nilpotent Lie algebras and Lie algebras of strictly upper-triangular matrices we show that all CPA-structures are associative and induce an associated Poisson-admissible algebra.
Universal enveloping Lie Rota-Baxter algebras of pre-Lie and post-Lie algebras are constructed. It is proved that the pairs of varieties (Lie Rota-Baxter algebras of zero weight, preLie algebras) and (Lie Rota-Baxter algebras of nonzero weight,post-Lie algebras) are PBW-pairs and the variety of Lie Rota-Baxter algebras is not Schreier.
We study post-Lie algebra structures on pairs of Lie algebras $(\mathfrak{g},\mathfrak{n})$, motivated by nil-affine actions of Lie groups. We prove existence results for such structures depending on the interplay of the algebraic structures of $\mathfrak{g}$ and $\mathfrak{n}$. We consider the classes of simple, semisimple, reductive, perfect, solvable, nilpotent, abelian and unimodular Lie algebras. Furthermore we consider commutative post-Lie algebra structures on perfect Lie algebras. Using Lie algebra cohomology we prove that such structures are trivial in several cases. We classify commu…
We show that any CPA-structure (commutative post-Lie algebra structure) on a perfect Lie algebra is trivial. Furthermore we give a general decomposition of inner CPA-structures, and classify all CPA-structures on parabolic subalgebras of simple Lie algebras.
We study Lie algebra prederivations. A Lie algebra admitting a non-singular prederivation is nilpotent. We classify filiform Lie algebras admitting a non-singular prederivation but no non-singular derivation. We prove that any 4-step nilpotent Lie algebra admits a non-singular prederivation. The results can be applied to construct affine structures on Lie algebras.
We study the structure of the Lie algebra $\mathfrak{s}(n,\mathbb R)$ corresponding to the so-called stochastic Lie group $\mathcal{S} (n,\mathbb R)$. We obtain the Levi decomposition of the Lie algebra, classify Levi factor and classify the representation of the factor in $\mathbb{R}^n$. We discuss isomorphism of $\mathcal{S}(n,\mathbb R)$ with the group of invertible affine maps ${\it Aff}(n-1,\mathbb R)$. We prove that $\mathfrak s(n, \mathbb R)$ is generated by two generic elements.
We study sympathetic Lie algebras, namely perfect and complete Lie algebras. They arise among other things in the study of adjoint Lie algebra cohomology. This is motivated by a conjecture of Pirashvili, which says that a non-trivial finite-dimensional complex perfect Lie algebra is semisimple if and only if its adjoint cohomology vanishes. We prove several results on sympathetic Lie algebras and the adjoint Lie algebra cohomology of Lie algebras in general, using the Hochschild-Serre formula. For certain semidirect products we obtain explicit results for the adjoint cohomology.
A twisted generalization of Lie-Yamaguti algebras, called Hom-Lie-Yamaguti algebras, is defined. Hom-Lie-Yamaguti algebras generalize Hom-Lie triple systems (and susequently ternary Hom-Nambu algebras) and Hom-Lie algebras in the same way as Lie-Yamaguti algebras generalize Lie triple systems and Lie algebras. It is shown that the category of Hom-Lie-Yamaguti algebras is closed under twisting by self-morphisms. Constructions of Hom-Lie-Yamaguti algebras from classical Lie-Yamaguti algebras and Malcev algebras are given. It is observed that, when the ternary operation of a Hom-Lie-Yamaguti alge…
The purpose of this paper is to show that there are Hom-Lie algebra structures on $\mathfrak{sl}_2(\mathbb{F}) \oplus \mathbb{F}D$, where $D$ is a special type of generalized derivation of $\mathfrak{sl}_2(\mathbb{F})$, and $\mathbb{F}$ is an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero. It is shown that the generalized derivations $D$ of $\mathfrak{sl}_2(\mathbb{F})$ that we study in this work, satisfy the Hom-Lie Jacobi identity for the Lie bracket of $\mathfrak{sl}_2(\mathbb{F})$. We study the representation theory of Hom-Lie algebras within the appropriate category and prove that any …
In this paper, we characterize the biderivations of Schrödinger-Virasoro Lie algebra. We get a classes of non-inner and non-skewsymmetric biderivations. As application, we characterize the commutative post-Lie algebra structures on Schrödinger-Virasoro Lie algebra.
We propose a notion of a super n-Lie algebra and construct a super n-Lie algebra with the help of a given binary super Lie algebra which is equipped with an analog of a supertrace. We apply this approach to the super Lie algebra of a Clifford algebra with even number of generators and making use of a matrix representation of this super Lie algebra given by a supermodule of spinors we construct a series of super 3-Lie algebras labeled by positive even integers.
In this paper, we introduce the notion of a derivation of a Hom-Lie algebra and construct the corresponding strict Hom-Lie 2-algebra, which is called the derivation Hom-Lie 2-algebra. As applications, we study non-abelian extensions of Hom-Lie algebras. We show that iso- morphism classes of diagonal non-abelian extensions of a Hom-Lie algebra g by a Hom-Lie algebra h are in one-to-one correspondence with homotopy classes of morphisms from g to the derivation Hom-Lie 2-algebra DER(h).
M. Boucetta introduced the notion of pseudo-Riemannian Lie algebra in [2] when he studied the line Poisson structure on the dual of a Lie algebra. In this paper, we redefine pseudo-Riemannian Lie algebra, which, in essence, is a class of new Lie admissible algebras and prove that all pseudo-Riemannian Lie algebras are solvable. Using our main result and method, we prove some of M. Boucetta's results in [2, 3] in a simple and new way, then we give an explicit construction of Riemann-Lie algebras and a classification of pseudo-Riemannian Lie algebras of dimension 2 and 3.
We investigate Lie algebras whose Lie bracket is also an associative or cubic associative multiplication to characterize the class of nilpotent Lie algebras with a nilindex equal to 2 or 3. In particular we study the class of 2-step nilpotent Lie algebras, their deformations and we compute the cohomology which parametrize the deformations in this class.
The aim of this paper is to introduce $n$-ary BiHom-algebras, generalizing BiHom-algebras. We introduce an alternative concept of BiHom-Lie algebra called BiHom-Lie-Leibniz algebra and study various type of $n$-ary BiHom-Lie algebras and BiHom-associative algebras. We show that $n$-ary BiHom-Lie-Leibniz algebra can be represented by BiHom-Lie-Leibniz algebra through fundamental objets. Moreover, we provide some key constructions and study $n$-ary BiHom-Lie algebras induced by $(n-1)$-ary BiHom-Lie algebras.
We study classical R-matrices D for Lie algebras L such that D is also a derivation of L. This yields derivation double Lie algebras (L,D). The motivation comes from recent work on post-Lie algebra structures on pairs of Lie algebras arising in the study of nil-affine actions of Lie groups. We prove that there are no nontrivial simple derivation double Lie algebras, and study related Lie algebra identities for arbitrary Lie algebras.
Oscillator Lie algebras are the only non commutative solvable Lie algebras which carry a bi-invariant Lorentzian metric. In this paper, we determine all the Poisson structures, and in particular, all symmetric Leibniz algebra structures whose underlying Lie algebra is an oscillator Lie algebra. We give also all the symmetric Leibniz bialgebra structures whose underlying Lie bialgebra structure is a Lie bialgebra structure on an oscillator Lie algebra. We derive some geometric consequences on oscillator Lie groups.
We determine commutative post-Lie algebra structures on some infinite-dimensional Lie algebras. We show that all commutative post-Lie algebra structures on loop algebras are trivial. This extends the results for finite-dimensional perfect Lie algebras. Furthermore we show that all commutative post-Lie algebra structures on affine Kac--Moody Lie algebras are "almost trivial".
For $a,b\in \mathbb{C}$, the Lie algebra $\mathcal{W}(a,b)$ is the semidirect product of the Witt algebra and a module of the intermediate series. In this paper, all biderivations of $\mathcal{W}(a,b)$ are determined. Surprisingly, these Lie algebras have symmetric (and skewsymmetric) non-inner biderivations. As an applications, commutative post-Lie algebra structures on $\mathcal{W}(a,b)$ are obtained.
We compute the cohomology with trivial coefficients of Lie algebras $\mathfrak{m}_0$ and $\mathfrak{m}_2$ of maximal class over the field $\mathbb{Z}_2$. In the infinite-dimensional case, we show that the cohomology rings $H^*(\mathfrak{m}_0)$ and $H^*(\mathfrak{m}_2)$ are isomorphic, in contrast with the case of the ground field of characteristic zero, and we obtain a complete description of them. In the finite-dimensional case, we find the first three Betti numbers of $\mathfrak{m}_0(n)$ and $\mathfrak{m}_2(n)$ over $\mathbb{Z}_2$.
We investigate a new class of Lie algebras, which are tame locally extended affine Lie algebras of nullity 1. It is an infinite-rank analog of affine Lie algebras, and their centerless cores are a local version of loop algebras. Such algebras are called locally affine Lie algebras and locally loop algebras. We classify both of them.
In this paper, we generalize the Lyndon-Shirshov words to Lyndon-Shirshov $Ω$-words on a set $X$ and prove that the set of all non-associative Lyndon-Shirshov $Ω$-words forms a linear basis of the free Lie $Ω$-algebra on the set $X$. From this, we establish Gröbner-Shirshov bases theory for Lie $Ω$-algebras. As applications, we give Gröbner-Shirshov bases for free $λ$-Rota-Baxter Lie algebras, free modified $λ$-Rota-Baxter Lie algebras and free Nijenhuis Lie algebras and then linear bases of such three free algebras are obtained.
Let $\mathbb F$ be a field $\mathbb F $ of characteristic zero. Let $W_{n}(\mathbb F)$ be the Lie algebra of all $\mathbb F$-derivations with the Lie bracket $[D_1, D_2]:=D_1D_2-D_2D_1$ on the polynomial ring $\mathbb F [x_1, \ldots , x_n]$. The problem of classifying finite dimensional subalgebras of $W_{n}(\mathbb F)$ was solved if $ n\leq 2$ and $\mathbb F=\mathbb C$ or $\mathbb F=\mathbb R.$ We prove that this problem is wild if $n\geq 4$, which means that it contains the classical unsolved problem of classifying matrix pairs up to similarity. The structure of finite dimensional subalgebra…
The aim of this paper is to introduce the notion of intuitionistic fuzzy Lie subalgebras and intutionistic fuzzy Lie ideals of n-Lie algebras. It is a generalization of intuitionistic fuzzy Lie algebras. Then, we investigate some of characteristics of intutionistic fuzzy Lie ideals (resp. subalgebras) of n-Lie algeras. Finally, we define the image and the inverse image of intuitionistic fuzzy Lie subalgebra under n-Lie algebra homomorphism. The properties of intuitionistic fuzzy n-Lie subalgebras and intuitionistic fuzzy Lie ideals under homomorphisms of n-Lie algebras are studied. Finally, we…
It is known that a multiloop Lie algebra, which constructed using multiloop realization, can be a Lie torus if the given multiloop Lie algebra satisfies several conditions, and it is also known that a family of extended affine Lie algebras (EALAs) are obtained from a Lie torus. In many cases, however, even if a given multiloop Lie algebra does not satisfy these conditions, we can also construct a family of EALAs from it. In this paper, we study this construction, and prove that two families of EALAs constructed from two multiloop Lie algebras coincide up to isomorphisms as EALAs if and only if…
A relation between $\frac{1}{2}$-derivations of Lie algebras and transposed Poisson algebras was established. Some non-trivial transposed Poisson algebras with a certain Lie algebra (Witt algebra, algebra $\mathcal{W}(a,-1)$, thin Lie algebra and solvable Lie algebra with abelian nilpotent radical) were constructed. In particular, we constructed an example of the transposed Poisson algebra with associative and Lie parts isomorphic to the Laurent polynomials and the Witt algebra. On the other side, it was proven that there are no non-trivial transposed Poisson algebras with Lie algebra part iso…
In this paper, we introduce the notion Lie-derivation. This concept generalizes derivations for non-Lie Leibniz algebras. We study these Lie-derivations in the case where their image is contained in the Lie-center, call them Lie-central derivations. We provide a characterization of Lie-stem Leibniz algebras by their Lie-central derivations, and prove several properties of the Lie algebra of Lie-central derivations for Lie-nilpotent Leibniz algebras of class 2. We also introduce ${\sf ID}_*-Lie$-derivations. A ${\sf ID}_*-Lie$-derivation of a Leibniz algebra G is a Lie-derivation of G in which …
We give a characterization of symplectic quadratic Lie algebras that their Lie algebra of inner derivations has an invertible derivation. A family of symplectic quadratic Lie algebras is introduced to illustrate this situation. Finally, we calculate explicitly the Betti numbers of a family of solvable Lie algebras in two ways: using the cohomology of quadratic Lie algebras and applying a Pouseele's result on extensions of the one-dimensional Lie algebra by Heisenberg Lie algebras
The paper studies the cohomology of Lie algebras and quadratic Lie algebras. Firstly, we propose to describe the cohomology of $MD(n,1)$-class which was introduced in \cite{LHNCN16}. This class contains Heisenberg Lie algebras. In 1983, L. J. Santharoubane \cite{San83} computed the cohomology of Heisenberg Lie algebras. In this paper, we will completely describe the cohomology of the other ones of $MD(n, 1)$-class. Finally, we will be concerned about the cohomology of quadratic Lie algebras. In 1985, A. Medina and P. Revoy \cite{MR85} computed the second Betti number of the generalized real di…
In this paper we investigate Lie bialgebra structures on the Schrödinger-Virasoro algebra $\LL$. Surprisingly, we find out an interesting fact that not all Lie bialgebra structures on the Schrödinger-Virasoro algebra are triangular coboundary, which is different from the related known results of some Lie algebras related to the Virasoro algebra.
In this paper we show there are no classical type simple Lie 2-algebras with toral rank odd and we also show that the simple contragredient Lie 2-algebra $G(F_{4, a})$ of dimension 34 has toral rank 4, and we give the Cartan decomposition of $G(F_{4, a})$.
In this paper, we study admissible $ω$-left-symmetric algebraic structures on $ω$-Lie algebras over the complex numbers field $\mathbb C$. Based on the classification of $ω$-Lie algebras, we prove that any perfect $ω$-Lie algebra can't be the $ω$-Lie algebra defined by the commutator of an $ω$-left-symmetric algebra.
In this paper, first we introduce the notion of a quadratic Lie-Yamaguti algebra and show that the invariant bilinear form in a quadratic Lie-Yamaguti algebra induces an isomorphism between the adjoint representation and the coadjoint representation. Then we introduce the notions of relative Rota-Baxter operators on Lie-Yamaguti algebras and pre-Lie-Yamaguti algebras. We prove that a pre-Lie-Yamaguti algebra gives rise to a Lie-Yamaguti algebra naturally and a relative Rota-Baxter operator induces a pre-Lie-Yamaguti algebra. Finally we study symplectic structures on Lie-Yamaguti algebra, which…
Hom-Lie algebras defined on central extensions of a given quadratic Lie algebra that in turn admit an invariant metric, are studied. It is shown how some of these algebras are naturally equipped with other symmetric, bilinear forms that satisfy an invariant condition for their twisted multiplication maps. The twisted invariant bilinear forms so obtained resemble the Cartan-Killing forms defined on ordinary Lie algebras. This fact allows one to reproduce on the Hom-Lie algebras hereby studied, some results that are classically associated to the ordinary Cartan-Killing form.
In this article, we study the notion of central extension of Leibniz $n$-algebras relative to $n$-Lie algebras to study properties of Schur $\mathsf{Lie}$-multiplier and $\mathsf{Lie}$-covers on Leibniz $n$-algebras. We provide a characterization of $\mathsf{Lie}$-perfect Leibniz $n$-algebras by means of universal $\mathsf{Lie}$-central extensions. It is also provided some inequalities on the dimension of the Schur $\mathsf{Lie}$-multiplier of Leibniz $n$-algebras. Analogue to Wiegold [38] and Green [17] results on groups or Moneyhun [26] result on Lie algebras, we provide upper bounds for the…
In this paper, we introduce the notion of algebras of quotients of Hom-Lie algebras and investigate some properties which can be lifted from a Hom-Lie algebra to its algebra of quotients. We also give some necessary and sufficient conditions for Hom-Lie algebras having algebras of quotients. We also examine the relationship between a Hom-Lie algebra and the associative algebra generated by inner derivations of the corresponding Hom-Lie algebra of quotients. Moreover, we introduce the notion of dense extensions and get a proposition about Hom-Lie algebras of quotients via dense extensions.
For every commutative differential algebra one can define the Lie algebra of special derivations. It is known for years that not every Lie algebra can be embedded to the Lie algebra of special derivations of some differential algebra. More precisely, the Lie algebra of special derivations of a commutative algebra always satisfy the standard Lie identity of degree $5$. The problem of existence of such embedding is a long-standing problem (see \cite{YuPSt5,PoinsotAAM,Poinsot}), which is closely related to the Lie algebra of vector fields on the affine line (see \cite{YuPSt5}). It was solved by R…
After recalling the notion of Lie algebroid, we construct these structures associated with contact forms or systems. We are then interested in particular classes of Lie Rinehart algebras.
In this paper we introduce the concept of $n$-Lie-isoclinism on non-Lie Leibniz algebras. Among the results obtained, we provide several characterizations of $n$-Lie-isoclinic classes of Leibniz algebras. Also, we provide a characterization of $n$-Lie-stem Leibniz algebras, and prove that every $n$-Lie-isoclinic class of Leibniz algebras contains a $n$-Lie-stem Leibniz algebra.
We study ideals of Novikov algebras and Novikov structures on finite-dimensional Lie algebras. We present the first example of a three-step nilpotent Lie algebra which does not admit a Novikov structure. On the other hand we show that any free three-step nilpotent Lie algebra admits a Novikov structure. We study the existence question also for Lie algebras of triangular matrices. Finally we show that there are families of Lie algebras of arbitrary high solvability class which admit Novikov structures.
A complex fuzzy Lie algebra is a fuzzy Lie algebra whose membership function takes values in the unit circle in the complex plane. In this paper, we deine the complex fuzzy Lie subalgebras and complex fuzzy ideals of Lie algebras. Then, we investigate some of characteristics of complex fuzzy Lie subalgebras. The relationship between complex fuzzy Lie subalgebras and fuzzy Lie subalgebras is also investigated. Finally, we define the image and the inverse image of complex fuzzy Lie subalgebra under Lie algebra homomorphism. The properties of complex fuzzy Lie subalgebras and complex fuzzy ideals…
We study post-Lie algebra structures on $(\mathfrak{g},\mathfrak{n})$ for nilpotent Lie algebras. First we show that if $\mathfrak{g}$ is nilpotent such that $H^0(\mathfrak{g},\mathfrak{n})=0$, then also $\mathfrak{n}$ must be nilpotent, of bounded class. For post-Lie algebra structures $x\cdot y$ on pairs of $2$-step nilpotent Lie algebras $(\mathfrak{g},\mathfrak{n})$ we give necessary and sufficient conditions such that $x\circ y=\frac{1}{2}(x\cdot y+y\cdot x)$ defines a CPA-structure on $\mathfrak{g}$, or on $\mathfrak{n}$. As a corollary we obtain that every LR-structure on a Heisenberg L…
In this paper, we first study properties of the lower central chains for Novikov algebras. Then we show that for every Lie nilpotent Novikov algebra~$\mathcal{N}$, the ideal of~$\mathcal{N}$ generated by the set~$\{ab - ba\mid a, b\in \mathcal{N}\}$ is nilpotent. We secondly provide necessary and sufficient conditions on the graph $E$ and the field $K$ for which the Leavitt path algebra $L_K(E)$ is Lie solvable. Consequently, we obtain a complete description of Lie nilpotent Leavitt path algebras, and show that the Lie solvability of~$L_K(E)$ and the Lie nilpotency of $[L_K(E),L_K(E)]$ are the…
In this paper we establish a Gröbner-Shirshov bases theory for Lie algebras over commutative rings. As applications we give some new examples of special Lie algebras (those embeddable in associative algebras over the same ring) and non-special Lie algebras (following a suggestion of P.M. Cohn (1963) \cite{Conh}). In particular, Cohn's Lie algebras over the characteristic $p$ are non-special when $p=2,\ 3,\ 5$. We present an algorithm that one can check for any $p$, whether Cohn's Lie algebras is non-special. Also we prove that any finitely or countably generated Lie algebra is embeddable in a …
In this paper, we study conformal biderivations of a Lie conformal algebra. First, we give the definition of conformal biderivation. Next, we determine the conformal biderivations of loop $W(a,b)$ Lie conformal algebra, loop Virasoro Lie conformal algebra and Virasoro Lie conformal algebra. Especially, all conformal biderivations on Virasoro Lie conformal algebra are inner conformal biderivations.
We study almost inner derivations of Lie algebras, which were introduced by Gordon and Wilson in their work on isospectral deformations of compact solvmanifolds. We compute all almost inner derivations for low-dimensional Lie algebras, and introduce the concept of fixed basis vectors for proving that all almost inner derivations are inner for $2$-step nilpotent Lie algebras determined by graphs, free $2$ and $3$-step nilpotent Lie algebras, free metabelian nilpotent Lie algebras on two generators, almost abelian Lie algebras and triangular Lie algebras. On the other hand we also exhibit famili…
Seaweed Lie algebras are a natural generalisation of parabolic subalgebras of reductive Lie algebras. The well-known Richardson Theorem says that the adjoint action of a parabolic group has a dense open orbit in the nilpotent radical of its Lie algebra \cite{richardson}. We call elements in the open orbit Richardson elements. In \cite{JSY} together with Yu, we generalized Richardson's Theorem and showed that Richardson elements exist for seaweed Lie algebras of type $\mathbb{A}$. Using GAP, we checked that Richardson elements exist for all exceptional simple Lie algebras except $\mathbb{E}_8$,…
The ideals of the Lie algebras of unitriangular polynomial derivations are classified. An isomorphism criterion is given for the Lie factor algebras of the Lie algebras of unitriangular polynomial derivations.
