Let $K$ be a complete discrete valuation field of characteristic $0$ with perfect residue field of characteristic $p>0$. We introduce the notion of crystalline $(φ,Γ)$-modules over $\widetilde{\mathbb{A}}_K^{+}$ and show that their category is equivalent to the category of crystalline $\mathbb{Z}_p$-representations of the absolute Galois group of $K$. In other words, we determine the $(φ,Γ)$-modules over $\widetilde{\mathbb{A}}_K$ that correspond to crystalline representations. This equivalence generalizes, in certain respects, that of L. Berger in the unramified case.
Cais and Liu extended the theory of Kisin modules and crystalline representations to allow more general coefficient fields and lifts of Frobenius. Based on their theory, we classify lattices in crystalline representations by Kisin modules with additional structures under a Cais-Liu's setting. Furthermore, we give a geometric interpretation of Kisin modules of height one in terms of Dieudonné crystals of $p$-divisible groups, and show a full faithfulness theorem for a restriction functor on torsion crystalline representations.
Let K be a finite unramified extension of Q_p. We parametrize the (phi, Gamma)-modules corresponding to reducible two-dimensional mod p representations of G_K and characterize those which have reducible crystalline lifts with certain Hodge-Tate weights.
We determine rational Kisin modules associated with two-dimensional, irreducible, crystalline representations of $\mathrm{Gal}(\overline{\mathbb{Q}}_p/\mathbb{Q}_p)$ of Hodge-Tate weights $0, k-1$. If the slope is larger than $\lfloor \frac{k-1}{p} \rfloor$, we further identify an integral Kisin module, which we use to calculate the semisimple reduction of the Galois representation. In that range, we find that the reduction is constant, thereby improving on a theorem of Berger, Li, and Zhu.
Given a perfect field $k$ of characteristic $p>0$, a smooth proper $k$-scheme $Y$, a crystal $E$ on $Y$ relative to $W(k)$ and a finite group $G$ acting on $Y$ and $E$, we show that, viewed as virtual $k[G]$-module, the reduction modulo $p$ of the crystalline cohomology of $E$ is the de Rham cohomology of $E$ modulo $p$. On the way we prove a base change theorem for the virtual $G$-representions associated with $G$-equivariant objects in the derived category of $W(k)$-modules.
Let $p$ be a prime, $K$ a finite extension of $\mathbb Q_p$, and let $G_K$ be the absolute Galois group of $K$. The category of étale $(φ, τ)$-modules is equivalent to the category of $p$-adic Galois representations of $G_K$. In this paper, we show that all étale $(φ, τ)$-modules are overconvergent; this answers a question of Caruso. Our result is an analogy of the classical overconvergence result of Cherbonnier and Colmez in the setting of étale $(φ, Γ)$-modules. However, our method is completely different from theirs. Indeed, we first show that all $p$-power-torsion representations admit loo…
We consider stacks of filtered phi-modules over rigid analytic spaces and adic spaces. We show that these modules parametrize p-adic Galois representations of the absolute Galois group of a p-adic field with varying coefficients over an open substack containing all classical points. Further we study a period morphism (defined by Pappas and Rapoport) from a stack parametrizing integral data and determine the image of this morphism.
For a perfect field $k$ of characteristic $p>0$ and a smooth and proper formal scheme $\mathscr{X}$ over the ring of integers of a finite and totally ramified extension $K$ of $W(k)[1/p]$, we propose a cohomological construction of the Breuil-Kisin modules attached to the $p$-adic étale cohomology $H^i_{\mathrm{ét}}(\mathscr{X}_{\overline{K}},\mathbf{Z}_p)$. We then prove that our proposal works when $p>2$, $i < p-1$, and the crystalline cohomology of the special fiber of $\mathscr{X}$ is torsion-free in degrees $i$ and $i+1$.
We construct stacks which algebraize Mazur's formal deformation rings of local Galois representations. More precisely, we construct Noetherian formal algebraic stacks over Spf Zp which parameterize étale (phi,Gamma)-modules; the formal completions of these stacks at points in their special fibres recover the universal deformation rings of local Galois representations. We use these stacks to show that all mod p representations of the absolute Galois group of a p-adic local field lift to characteristic zero, and indeed admit crystalline lifts. We also discuss the relationship between the geometr…
Let $k$ be a perfect field of characteristic $p > 2$, and let $K$ be a finite totally ramified extension over $W(k)[\frac{1}{p}]$. Let $R_0$ be an unramified relative base ring over $W(k)\langle X_1^{\pm 1}, \ldots, X_d^{\pm 1}\rangle$, and let $R = R_0\otimes_{W(k)}\mathcal{O}_K$. We define relative $B$-pairs and study their relations to weakly admissible $R_0[\frac{1}{p}]$-modules and $\mathbf{Q}_p$-representations. As an application, when $R = \mathcal{O}_K[\![Y]\!]$ with $k = \overline{k}$, we show that every rank $2$ horizontal crystalline representation with Hodge-Tate weights in $[0, 1]…
We extend the theory of Kisin modules and crystalline representations to allow more general coefficient fields and lifts of Frobenius. In particular, for a finite and totally ramified extension $F/\mathbb Q_p$, and an arbitrary finite extension $K/F$, we construct a general class of infinite and totally wildly ramified extensions $K_\infty/K$ so that the functor $V\mapsto V|_{G_{K_\infty}}$ is fully-faithfull on the category of $F$-crystalline representations $V$. We also establish a new classification of $F$-Barsotti-Tate groups via Kisin modules of height 1 which allows more general lifts of…
Fontaine's $D_{\mathrm{cris}}$ functor allow us to associate an isocrystal to any crystalline representation. For a reductive group $G$, we study the reduction of lattices inside a germ of crystalline representations with $G$-structure $V$ to lattices (which are crystals) with $G$-structure inside $D_{\mathrm{cris}}(V)$. Using Kisin modules theory, we give a description of this reduction in terms of $G$, in the case when the representation $V$ is ($G$-)ordinary. In order to do that, first we need to generalize Fargues' construction of the Harder-Narasimhan filtration for $p$-divisible groups t…
We study G-valued semi-stable Galois deformation rings where G is a reductive group. We develop a theory of Kisin modules with G-structure and use this to identify the connected components of crystalline deformation rings of minuscule p-adic Hodge type with the connected components of moduli of "finite flat models with G-structure." The main ingredients are a construction in integral p-adic Hodge theory using Liu's theory of $(φ, \widehat{G})$-modules and the local models constructed by Pappas and Zhu.
We prove the local epsilon-isomorphism conjecture of Fukaya and Kato [FK06] for certain crystalline families of G_Qp-representations. This conjecture can be regarded as a local analogue of the Iwasawa main conjecture for families. Our work extends earlier work of Kato for rank-1 modules (cf. [Ven13]), of Benois and Berger for crystalline G_Qp-representations with respect to the cyclotomic extension (cf. [BB08]), as well as of Loeffler, Venjakob, and Zerbes (cf. [LVZ13]) for crystalline G_Qp- representations with respect to abelian p-adic Lie extensions of Qp. Nakamura [Nak13, Nak14] has also f…
We prove the existence of local constancy phenomena for reductions in a general prime power setting of two-dimensional irreducible crystalline representations. Up to twist, these representations depend on two parameters: a trace $a_p$ and a weight $k$. We find an (explicit) local constancy result with respect to $a_p$ using Fontaine's theory of $(φ, Γ)$-modules and its crystalline refinement due to Berger via Wach modules and their continuity properties. The local constancy result with respect to $k$ (for $a_p\not=0$) will follow from a local study of Colmez's rigid analytic space parametrizin…
Irreducible crystalline representations of dimension 2 of Gal(Qpbar/Qp) depend up to twist on two parameters, the weight k and the trace of frobenius a_p. We show that the reduction modulo p of such a representation is a locally constant function of a_p (with an explicit radius) and a locally constant function of the weight k if a_p <> 0. We then give an algorithm for computing the reductions modulo p of these representations. The main ingredient is Fontaine's theory of (phi,Gamma)-modules as well as the theory of Wach modules.
We review the analog of Fontaine's theory of crystalline $p$-adic Galois representations and their classification by weakly admissible filtered isocrystals in the arithmetic of function fields over a finite field. There crystalline Galois representations are replaced by the Tate modules of so-called local shtukas. We prove that the Tate module functor is fully faithful. In addition to this étale realization of a local shtuka we discuss also the de Rham and the crystalline cohomology realizations and construct comparison isomorphisms between these realizations. We explain how local shtukas and …
Let $p>2$ be a prime. Let $K$ be a tamely ramified finite extension over $\mathbb Q_p$ with ramification index $e$, and let $G_K$ be the Galois group. We study Kisin modules attached to crystalline representations of $G_K$ whose labeled Hodge-Tate weights are relatively small (a sort of "$er\le p$" condition where $r$ is the maximal Hodge-Tate weight). In particular, we show that these Kisin modules admit "adapted bases". We then apply these results in the special case $e=2$ to study reductions and liftings of certain crystalline representations. As a consequence, we establish some new cases o…
We provide an answer to two questions of Fontaine (in the unramified case). First, we show that a limit of crystalline representations, of bounded Hodge-Tate weights, is itself crystalline. Second, we show that every admissible filtered $ϕ$-module "comes from" a $(ϕ,Γ)$-module of finite q-height.
We define some rings of power series in several variables, that are attached to a Lubin-Tate formal module. We then give some examples of (ϕ,Γ)-modules over those rings. They are the global sections of some reflexive sheaves on the p-adic open unit polydisk, that are constructed from a filtered ϕ-module using a modification process. We prove that we obtain every crystalline (ϕ,Γ)-module over those rings in this way.
We study potentially crystalline deformation rings for a residual, ordinary Galois representation $\overlineρ: G_{\mathbb{Q}_p}\rightarrow \mathrm{GL}_3(\mathbb{F}_p)$. We consider deformations with Hodge-Tate weights $(0,1,2)$ and inertial type chosen to contain exactly one Fontaine-Laffaille modular weight for $\overlineρ$. We show that, in this setting, the potentially crystalline deformation space is formally smooth over $\mathbb{Z}_p$ and any potentially crystalline lift is ordinary. The proof requires an understanding of the condition imposed by the monodromy operator on Breuil modules w…
Let G be a connected split reductive group over a complete discrete valuation ring of mixed characteristic. We use the theory of intermediate extensions due to Abe-Caro and arithmetic Beilinson-Bernstein localization to classify irreducible modules over the crystalline distribution algebra of G in terms of overconvergent isocrystals on locally closed subspaces in the (formal) flag variety of G. We treat the case of SL(2) as an example.
Let $p$ be an odd prime number, $K_{f}$ the finite unramified extension of $\mathbb{Q}_{p}$ of degree $f$, and $G_{K_{f}}$ its absolute Galois group. We construct analytic families of étale $(φ,Γ)$-modules which give rise to some families of 2-dimensional crystalline representations of $G_{K_{f}}$ with length of filtration $\geq p$. As an application, we prove that the modulo $p$ reductions of the members of each such family (with respect to appropriately chosen Galois-stable lattices) are constant.
We study integral structures of crystalline representations over an unramified extension $K / \mathbb{Q}_p$ with the help of an auxillary ring $A_{\textrm{exp}}$. This ring has the nice property that it contains the the fundamental period (and its inverse) of $p$-adic Hodge theory, up to powers of $p$. We establish an exact sequence using $A_{\textrm{exp}}$ and Frobenii on its filtration, give a link to Fontaine-Laffaille modules and the Bloch-Kato fundamental exact sequence and finally compute the integral finite part of a lattice of a crystalline representation, giving a connection to the lo…
Let K_{f} be the finite unramified extension of Q_{p} of degree f and E any finite large enough coefficient field containing K_{f}. We construct analytic families of étale (Phi,Gamma)-modules which give rise to families of crystalline E-representations of the absolute Galois group G_{K_{f}} of K_{f}. For any irreducible effective two-dimensional crystalline E-representation of G_{K_{f}} with labeled Hodge-Tate weights {0,-k_{i}}_{τ_{i}} induced from a crystalline character of G_{K_{2f}}, we construct an infinite family of crystalline E-representations of G_{K_{f}} of the same Hodge-Tate type w…
Let $K$ be an unramified extension of $\mathbb{Q}_p$ and $ρ\colon G_K \rightarrow \operatorname{GL}_n(\overline{\mathbb{Z}}_p)$ a crystalline representation. If the Hodge--Tate weights of $ρ$ differ by at most $p$ then we show that these weights are contained in a natural collection of weights depending only on the restriction to inertia of $\overlineρ = ρ\otimes_{\overline{\mathbb{Z}}_p} \overline{\mathbb{F}}_p$. Our methods involve the study of a full subcategory of $p$-torsion Breuil--Kisin modules which we view as extending Fontaine--Laffaille theory to filtrations of length $p$.
We construct explicitly some analytic families of etale (phi,Gamma)-modules, which give rise to analytic families of 2-dimensional crystalline representations. As an application of our constructions, we verify some conjectures of Breuil on the reduction modulo p of those representations, and extend some results (of Deligne, Edixhoven, Fontaine and Serre) on the representations arising from modular forms.
We adapt a technique of Kisin to construct and study crystalline deformation rings of $G_K$ for a finite extension $K/\mathbb{Q}_p$. This is done by considering a moduli space of Breuil--Kisin modules, satisfying an additional Galois condition, over the universal deformation ring. For $K$ unramified over $\mathbb{Q}_p$ and Hodge--Tate weights in $[0,p]$, we study the geometry of this space. As a consequence we prove that, under a mild cyclotomic-freeness assumption, all crystalline representations of an unramified extension of $\mathbb{Q}_p$, with Hodge--Tate weights in $[0,p]$, are potentiall…
Let K be a finite extension of Qp. We fix a continuous absolutely irreducible representation of the absolute Galois group of K over a finite dimensional vector space with coefficient in a finite field of characteristic p and consider its universal deformation ring R. If we fix a regular set of Hodge-Tate weights k, we prove, under some hypothesis, that the closed points of Spec(R[1/p]) corresponding to potentially crystalline representations of fixed Hodge-Tate weights k are dense in Spec(R[1/p]) for the Zariski topology.
We prove an analogue of the Tate isogeny conjecture and the semi-simplicity conjecture for overconvergent crystalline Dieudonné modules of abelian varieties defined over global function fields of characteristic $p$. As a corollary we deduce that monodromy groups of such overconvergent crystalline Dieudonné modules are reductive, and after a finite base change of coefficients their connected components are the same as the connected components of monodromy groups of Galois representations on the corresponding $l$-adic Tate modules, for $l$ different from $p$. We also show such a result for gener…
We construct a Wach module for the absolutely semi-stable representations the filtered $(φ, N)$-module of which satisfies the Griffiths transversality, which happens in particular for ordinary representations. This construction extends the ones of Wach and Berger for the absolutely crystalline case. We use it in particular to describe semi-stable representations which factor through the Tate curve extension.
Let K be a p-adic local field with residue field k such that [k:k^p]=p^e<\infty and V be a p-adic representation of Gal(\bar{K}/K). Then, by using the theory of p-adic differential modules, we show that V is a potentially crystalline (resp. potentially semi-stable) representation of Gal(\bar{K}/K) if and only if V is a potentially crystalline (resp. potentially semi-stable) representation of Gal(\bar{K^{pf}}/K^{pf}) where K^{pf}/K is a certain p-adic local field whose residue field is the smallest perfect field k^{pf} containing k. As an application, we prove the p-adic monodromy theorem of Fo…
In \cite[\S1.3]{Br2}, some unitary representations of ${\rm GL}_2(\mathbf{Q}_p)$ on $p$-adic Banach spaces are associated to 2-dimensional irreducible crystalline representations of ${\rm Gal}(\bar{\mathbf{Q}}_p)/\mathbf{Q}_p)$. Some conjectures are formulated concerning those Banach spaces (non triviality, topological irreducibility, admissibility). We prove those conjectures by reinterpreting those Banach as spaces of functions of a certain type on $\mathbf{Q}_p$, and then by using the theory of $(ϕ,Γ)$-modules associated to the corresponding crystalline representations.
To each 2-dimensional irreducible p-adic representation of Gal(Qpbar/Qp) which becomes crystalline over an abelian extension of Q_p, we associate a Banach space B(V) endowed with a linear continuous unitary action of GL_2(Q_p). When V is moreover phi-semi-simple, we use the (phi,Gamma)-module and the Wach module associated to V to show that the representation B(V) is nonzero, topologically irreducible and admissible.
We classify the filtered modules with coefficients corresponding to two-dimensional potentially semi-stable $p$-adic representations of the absolute Galois groups of $p$-adic fields under the assumptions that $p$ is odd and the coefficients are large enough.
The aim of this article is to study deformation theory of trianguline B-pairs for any p-adic field. For benign B-pairs, a special good class of trianguline B-pairs, we prove a main theorem concerning tangent spaces of these deformation spaces. These are generalizations of Bellaiche-Chenevier's and Chenevier's works in the Q_p case, where they used (ϕ,Γ)-modules over the Robba ring instead of using B-pairs. As an application of this theory, in the final chapter, we prove a theorem concerning Zariski density of two dimensional crystalline representations for any p-adic field, which is a generali…
Suppose $K$ is unramified over $\mathbb Q _p$ and $Γ_K=\operatorname{Gal}(\bar K/K)$. Let $H$ be a torsion $Γ_K$-equivariant subquotient of crystalline $\mathbb Q _p[Γ_K]$-module with HT weights from $[0,p-2]$. We give a new proof of Fontaine's conjecture about the triviality of action of some ramification subgroups $Γ_K^{(v)}$ on $H$. The earlier author's proof from [1] contains a gap and proves this conjecture only for some subgroups of index $p$ in $Γ_K^{(v)}$.
We construct a moduli space $Y^{μ, τ}$ of Kisin modules with tame descent datum $τ$ and with fixed $p$-adic Hodge type $\leq μ$, for some finite extension $K/\mathbb{Q}_p$. We show that this space is smoothly equivalent to the local model for $\mathrm{Res}_{K/\mathbb{Q}_p} \mathrm{GL}_n$, cocharacter $\{ μ\}$, and parahoric level structure. We use this to construct the analogue of Kottwitz-Rapoport strata on the special fiber $Y^{μ, τ}$ indexed by the $μ$-admissible set. We also relate $Y^{μ, τ}$ to potentially crystalline Galois deformation rings.
Let X_d be the p-adic analytic space classifying the d-dimensional (semisimple) p-adic Galois representations of the absolute Galois group of Q_p. We show that the crystalline representations are Zarski-dense in many irreducible components of X_d, including the components made of residually irreducible representations. This extends to any dimension d previous results of Colmez and Kisin for d = 2. For this we construct an analogue of the infinite fern of Gouvêa-Mazur in this context, based on a study of analytic families of trianguline (phi,Gamma)-modules over the Robba ring. We show in partic…
Let $k$ be a perfect field of characteristic $p>2$ and $K$ an extension of $F=\mathrm{Frac} W(k)$ contained in some $F(μ_{p^r})$. Using crystalline Dieudonné theory, we provide a classification of $p$-divisible groups over $\mathscr{O}_K$ in terms of finite height $(φ,Γ)$-modules over $\mathfrak{S}:=W(k)[[u]]$. Although such a classification is a consequence of (a special case of) the theory of Kisin--Ren, our construction gives an independent proof and allows us to recover the Dieudonné crystal of a $p$-divisible group from the Wach module associated to its Tate module by Berger--Breuil or by…
We study the $p$-adic variation of triangulations over $p$-adic families of $(φ,Γ)$-modules. In particular, we study certain canonical sub-filtrations of the pointwise triangulations and show that they extend to affinoid neighborhoods of crystalline points. This generalizes results of Kedlaya, Pottharst and Xiao and (independently) Liu in the case where one expects the entire triangulation to extend. As an application, we study the ramification of weight parameters over natural $p$-adic families.
Let V be a p-adic representation of the absolute Galois group G of Q_p that becomes crystalline over a finite tame extension, and assume p odd. We provide necessary and sufficient conditions for V to be isomorphic to the Tate module V_p(A) of an abelian variety A defined over Q_p. These conditions are stated on the filtered (ϕ,G)-module attached to V.
Trianguline representations are a certain class of p-adic representations of Gal(Qp^alg/Qp) like the crystalline, semistable and de Rham representations of Fontaine. Their definition involves the theory of (phi,Gamma)-modules. In this survey, we explain the theory of (phi,Gamma)-modules and the definition and properties of trianguline representations. After that, we give some examples of their occurrence in arithmetic geometry.
Let $p>3$ be a prime number and let $G_{\mathbb{Q}_p}$ be the absolute Galois group of $\mathbb{Q}_p$. In this paper, we find Galois stable lattices in the irreducible $3$-dimensional semi-stable and non-crystalline representations of $G_{\mathbb{Q}_p}$ with Hodge--Tate weights $(0,1,2)$ by constructing their strongly divisible modules. We also compute the Breuil modules corresponding to the mod $p$ reductions of the strongly divisible modules, and determine which of the semi-stable representations has an absolutely irreducible mod $p$ reduction.
This paper contains three new results. {\bf 1}.We introduce new notions of projective crystalline representations and twisted periodic Higgs-de Rham flows. These new notions generalize crystalline representations of étale fundamental groups introduced in [7,10] and periodic Higgs-de Rham flows introduced in [19]. We establish an equivalence between the categories of projective crystalline representations and twisted periodic Higgs-de Rham flows via the category of twisted Fontaine-Faltings module which is also introduced in this paper. {\bf 2.}We study the base change of these objects over ver…
