We construct harmonic Riemannian submersions that are retractions from symmetric spaces of noncompact type onto their rank-one totally geodesic subspaces. Among the consequences, we prove the existence of a non-constant, globally defined complex-valued harmonic morphism from the Riemannian symmetric space associated to a split real semisimple Lie group. This completes an affirmative proof of a conjecture of Gudmundsson.
In this paper, we study biharmonic Riemannian submersions. We first derive bitension field of a general Riemannian submersion, we then use it to obtain biharmonic equations for Riemannian submersions with $1$-dimensional fibers and Riemannian submersions with basic mean curvature vector fields of fibers. These are used to construct examples of proper biharmonic Riemannian submersions with $1$-dimensional fibers and to characterize warped products whose projections onto the first factor are biharmonic Riemannian submersions.
We study generic Riemannian submersions from nearly Kaehler manifolds onto Riemannian manifolds. We investigate conditions for the integrability of various distributions arising for generic Riemannian submersions and also obtain conditions for leaves to be totally geodesic foliations. We obtain conditions for a generic Riemannian submersion to be a totally geodesic map and also study generic Riemannian submersions with totally umbilical fibers. Finally, we derive conditions for generic Riemannian submersions to be harmonic map.
B. Sahin [9] introduced the notion of anti-invariant Riemannian submersions from almost Hermitian manifolds onto Riemannian manifolds. In the present paper we extend the notion of anti-invariant and Lagrangian Riemannian submersions (a special anti-invariant Riemannian submersion) to the case of locally conformal Kaehler manifolds. We discuss the geometry of foliation and obtain some decomposition theorems for the total manifold of such submersions.
We introduce bi-slant $ξ^{\perp}$-Riemannian submersions from Sasakian manifolds onto Riemannian manifolds as a generalization of slant and semi-slant $ξ^{\perp}$-Riemannian submersion. We give an example and investigate the geometry foliations. After we obtain necessary and sufficient conditions related to totally geodesicness of submersion. Finally we give decomposition theorems for total manifold of such submersions.
In this paper, we study harmonic Riemannian submersions from 3-dimensional geometries using the ( generalized) integrability data associated to an orthonormal frame natural to a Riemannian submersion. We give complete classifications of harmonic Riemannian submersions from Thurston's 3-dimensional geometries, 3-dimensional BCV spaces and Berger sphere into a surface. We also give some explicit constructions of these harmonic Riemannian submersions.
The aim of the present paper to define and study semi-slant $ξ^\perp-$Riemannian submersions from Sasakian manifolds onto Riemannian manifolds as a generalization of anti-invariant $ξ^\perp-$Riemannian submersions, semi-invariant $ξ^\perp-$Riemannian submersions and slant Riemannian submersions. We obtain characterizations, investigate the geometry of foliations which arise from the definition of this new submersion. After we investigate the geometry of foliations, we obtain necessary and sufficient condition for base manifold to be a locally product manifold and proving new conditions to be t…
In this paper, we study Riemannian submersions whose total manifolds admitting a Ricci soliton. Here, we characterize any fiber of such a submersion is Ricci soliton or almost Ricci soliton. Indeed, we obtain necessary conditions for which the target manifold of Riemannian submersion is a Ricci soliton. Moreover, we study the harmonicity of Riemannian submersion from Ricci soliton and give a characterization for such a submersion to be harmonic.
We obtain sharp inequalities involving the Ricci curvature and the scalar curvature for anti-invariant Riemannian submersions from Sasakian space forms onto Riemannian manifolds.
In this research article, we establish the geometrical bearing on Riemannian submersions in terms of $η$-Ricci-Yamabe Soliton with the potential field and giving the classification of any fiber of Riemannian submersion is an $η$-Ricci-Yamabe soliton, $η$-Ricci soliton and $η$-Yamabe soliton. We also discuss the various conditions for which the target manifold of Riemannian submersion is an $η$-Ricci-Yamabe soliton, $η$-Ricci soliton, $η$-Yamabe soliton and quasi-Yamabe soliton. In a particular case when the potential filed $V$ of the $η$-Ricci-Yamabe soliton is of gradient type, we derive a La…
For biharmonic maps, there is a famous conjecture named Chen's conjecture. In later paper, Wang and Ou gave an affirmative partial answer to submersion version of Chen's conjecture. In this paper, we give an affirmative partial answer to submersion version of generalized Chen's conjecture, that is, triharmonic Riemannian submersions from a 3-dimensional space form into a surface is harmonic.
In this paper, we study biharmonic isometric immersions of a surface into and biharmonic Riemannian submersion from 3-dimensional Berger spheres. We obtain a classification of proper biharmonic isometric immersions of a surface with constant mean curvature into Berger 3-spheres. We also give a complete classification of proper biharmonic Hopf tori in Berger 3-sphere. For Riemannian submersions, we prove that a Riemannian submersion from Berger 3-spheres into a surface is biharmonic if and only if it is harmonic.
In this paper we study a semi-Riemannian submersion from Lorentzian (para)almost contact manifolds and find necessary and sufficient conditions for the characteristic vector field to be vertical or horizontal. We also obtain decomposition theorems for an anti-invariant semi-Riemannian submersion from Lorentzian (para)Sasakian manifolds onto a Lorentzian manifold.
In this paper, an optimal inequality involving the delta curvature is exposed. An application of Riemannian submersions dealing meteorology is presented. Some characterizations about the vertical motion and the horizontal divergence are obtained.
Characterizations for Riemannian submersions to be harmonic or biharmonic are shown. Examples of biharmonic but not harmonic Riemannian submersions are shown.
The present paper deals with the characterization of a new submersion named semi-invariant conformal $ζ^{\perp }$-Riemannian submersion from almost contact metric manifolds onto Riemannian manifolds which is the generalization of some known submersions on Riemannian manifolds. We give important and adequate conditions for such submersions to be totally geodesic and harmonic. Also, few examples are examined for such submersions endowed with horizontal Reeb vector field.
Considering Riemannian submersions, we find necessary and sufficient conditions for when sub-Riemannian normal geodesics project to curves of constant first geodesic curvature or constant first and vanishing second geodesic curvatures. We describe a canonical extension of the sub-Riemannian metric and study geometric properties of the obtained Riemannian manifold. This work contains several examples illustrating the results.

Let $π{:}\,(M,\mathcal{H})\to (B,b)$ be a submersion equipped with a horizontal connection $\cal H$ over a Riemannian manifold $(B,b)$. We present an intrinsic curvature condition that only depends on the pair $(\cal H,b)$. By studying a set of relative flat planes, we prove that a certain class of pairs $(\cal H,b)$ admits a compatible metric with positive sectional curvature only if they are \textit{fat}, verifying Wilhelm's Conjecture in this class.
We study bifurcation for the constant scalar curvature equation along a one-parameter family of Riemannian metrics on the total space of a harmonic Riemannian submersion. We provide an existence theorem for bifurcation points and a criterion to see that the conformal factors corresponding to the bifurcated metrics must be indeed constant along the fibers. In the case of the canonical variation of a Riemannian submersion with totally geodesic fibers, we characterize discreteness of the set of all degeneracy points along the family and give a sufficient condition to guarantee that bifurcation ne…
