In this paper we study a semi-Riemannian submersion from Lorentzian (para)almost contact manifolds and find necessary and sufficient conditions for the characteristic vector field to be vertical or horizontal. We also obtain decomposition theorems for an anti-invariant semi-Riemannian submersion from Lorentzian (para)Sasakian manifolds onto a Lorentzian manifold.
We introduce slant Riemannian submersions from Sasakian manifolds onto Riemannian manifolds. We survey main results of slant Riemannian submersions defined on Sasakian manifolds. We also give an example of such slant submersions.
We obtain sharp inequalities involving the Ricci curvature and the scalar curvature for anti-invariant Riemannian submersions from Sasakian space forms onto Riemannian manifolds.
We introduce anti-invariant Riemannian submersions from Sasakian manifolds onto Riemannian manifolds. We survey main results of anti-invariant Riemannian submersions defined on Sasakian manifolds. We investigate necessary and sufficient condition for an anti-invariant Riemannian submersion to be totally geodesic and harmonic. We give examples of anti-invariant submersions such that characteristic vector field ξ is vertical or horizontal.
We investigate new Clairaut conditions for anti-invariant submersions from normal almost contact metric manifolds onto Riemannian manifolds. We prove that there is no Clairaut anti-invariant submersion admitting vertical Reeb vector field when the total manifold is Sasakian. Several illustrative examples are also included.
We introduce bi-slant $ξ^{\perp}$-Riemannian submersions from Sasakian manifolds onto Riemannian manifolds as a generalization of slant and semi-slant $ξ^{\perp}$-Riemannian submersion. We give an example and investigate the geometry foliations. After we obtain necessary and sufficient conditions related to totally geodesicness of submersion. Finally we give decomposition theorems for total manifold of such submersions.
The aim of the present paper to define and study semi-slant $ξ^\perp-$Riemannian submersions from Sasakian manifolds onto Riemannian manifolds as a generalization of anti-invariant $ξ^\perp-$Riemannian submersions, semi-invariant $ξ^\perp-$Riemannian submersions and slant Riemannian submersions. We obtain characterizations, investigate the geometry of foliations which arise from the definition of this new submersion. After we investigate the geometry of foliations, we obtain necessary and sufficient condition for base manifold to be a locally product manifold and proving new conditions to be t…
A locally conformally Kähler (LCK) manifold is a complex manifold covered by a Kähler manifold, with the covering group acting by homotheties. We show that if such a compact manifold X admits a holomorphic submersion with positive dimensional fibers at least one of which is of Kähler type, then X is globally conformally Kähler or biholomorphic, up to finite covers, to a Vaisman manifold (i.e. a mapping torus over a circle, with Sasakian fibre). As a consequence, we show that the product between a compact non-Kähler LCK and a compact Kähler manifold cannot carry a LCK metric.
A geometry with parallel skew-symmetric torsion is a Riemannian manifold carrying a metric connection with parallel skew-symmetric torsion. Besides the trivial case of the Levi-Civita connection, geometries with non-vanishing parallel skew-symmetric torsion arise naturally in several geometric contexts, e.g. on naturally reductive homogeneous spaces, nearly Kähler or nearly parallel $\mathrm{G}_2$-manifolds, Sasakian and $3$-Sasakian manifolds, or twistor spaces over quaternion-Kähler manifolds with positive scalar curvature. In this paper we study the local structure of Riemannian manifolds c…

We give a general Lie-theoretic construction for anti-invariant almost Hermitian Riemannian submersions, anti-invariant quaternion Riemannian submersions, anti-invariant para-Hermitian Riemannian submersions, anti-invariant para-quaternion Riemannian submersions, and anti-invariant octonian Riemannian submersions. This yields many compact Einstein examples.
The present paper is devoted to quasi-Para-Sasakian manifolds. Basic properties of such manifolds are obtained and general curvature identities are investigated. Next it is proved that if $M$ is quasi-Para-Sasakian manifold of constant curvature $K$. Then $K$ $\leq 0$ and $(i)~$if $K=0$, the manifold is paracosymplectic, $(ii)$ if $K<0$, the quasi-para-Sasakian structure of $M$ is obtained by a homothetic deformation of a para-Sasakian structure.
In this paper we study the 3-dimensional $(\varepsilon) $-para Sasakian manifolds. We obtain an necessary and sufficient condition for an $(\varepsilon ) $-para Sasakian 3 -manifold to be an indefinite space form. We show that a Ricci-semi-symmetric $(\varepsilon) $-para Sasakian 3 -manifold is an indefinite space form. We investigate the necessary and sufficient condition for an $(\varepsilon) $-para Sasakian 3 -manifold to be locally $φ$-symmetric. It is proved that in an $ (\varepsilon) $-para Sasakian 3-manifold with $η$ -parallel Ricci tensor the scalar curvature is constant. It is also s…
We provide some criteria to $p$-parabolicity of Riemannian submersions. In particular, if $N$ is $p$-parabolic and $π:M\to N$ is a Riemannian submersion with uniformly bounded volume of fibers, then $M$ is also $p$-parabolic. In the case of warped manifolds we characterize $p$-parabolicity in terms of a volume growth condition.
The purpose of this paper is to study the harmonicity of maps to or from para-Sasakian manifolds. We derive the condition for the tension field of paraholomorphic map between almost para-Hermitian manifold and para-Sasakian manifold. The necessary and sufficient condition for a paraholomorphic map between para-Sasakian manifolds to be parapluriharmonic are shown and a non-trivial example is presented for its illustrations.
In this paper we deal with some properties of a class of semi-Riemannian submersions between manifolds endowed with paraquaternionic structures, proving a result of non-existence of paraquaternionic submersions between paraquaternionic Kähler non locally hyper paraKähler manifolds. Then we examine, as an example, the canonical projection of the tangent bundle, endowed with the Sasaki metric, of an almost paraquaternionic Hermitian manifold.
The object of the present paper is to study 3-dimensional conformally flat quasi-Para-Sasakian manifolds. First, the necessary and sufficient conditions are provided for 3-dimensional quasi-Para-Sasakian manifolds to be conformally flat. Next, a characterization of 3-dimensional conformally flat quasi-Para-Sasakian manifold with \b{eta}=const. is given.
The object of this paper is study $(ε)$-para-Sasakian 3-manifolds satisfying certain conditions on the $\mathcal{Z}$ tensor. We characterize, $\mathcal{Z}$-symmetric; $\mathcal{Z}$-semisymmetric; $\mathcal{Z}$-pseudosymmetric; and projectively $\mathcal{Z}$-semisymmetric conditions on an $(ε)$-para-Sasakian 3-manifold.
In this paper we study a special type of metric called *-Ricci soliton on para-Sasakian manifold. We prove that if the para-Sasakian metric is a *-Ricci soliton on a manifold M, then M is either D-homothetic to an Einstein manifold, or the Ricci tensor of M with respect to the canonical paracontact connection vanishes.
In this paper we introduce paraquaternionic CR-submanifolds of almost paraquaternionic hermitian manifolds and state some basic results on their differential geometry. We also study a class of semi-Riemannian submersions from paraquaternionic CR-submanifolds of paraquaternionic Kaehler manifolds.
In this paper, we introduce the trans-para-Sasakian manifolds and we study their geometry. These manifolds are an analogue of the trans-Sasakian manifolds in the Riemannian geometry. We shall investigate many curvature properties of these manifolds and we shall give many conditions under which the manifolds are either $η-$Einstein or Einstein manifolds.
The purpose of the present paper is to study the globally and locally $φ$-${\cal T}$-symmetric $\left( \varepsilon \right) $-para Sasakian manifold in dimension $3$. The globally $φ$-$ {\cal T}$-symmetric $3$-dimensional $\left( \varepsilon \right) $-para Sasakian manifold is either Einstein manifold or has a constant scalar curvature. The necessary and sufficient condition for Einstein manifold to be globally $φ$-${\cal T}$ -symmetric is given. A $3$-dimensional $% \left( \varepsilon \right) $ -para Sasakian manifold is locally $φ$-$ {\cal T}$-symmetric if and only if the scalar curvature $r$…
In this paper, we study the invariant and noninvariant hypersurfaces of (1,1,1) almost contact manifolds, Lorentzian almost paracontact manifolds and Lorentzian para-Sasakian manifolds, respectively. We show that a noninvariant hypersurface of an (1,1,1) almost contact manifold admits an almost product structure. We investigate hypersurfaces of affinely cosymplectic and normal (1,1,1) almost contact manifolds. It is proved that a noninvariant hypersurface of a Lorentzian almost paracontact manifold is an almost product metric manifold. Some necessary and sufficient conditions have been given f…
In 1970, Samuel I. Goldberg and Kentaro Yano defined the notion of noninvariant hypersurface of a Sasakian manifold [1]. In this paper we have studied the properties of parallel vector fields with respect to induced connection on the noninvariant hypersurface $M$ of a Sasakian manifold $\tilde M$ with $(ϕ, g, u, v, λ)-$ structure and proved that if the vector field $V$ is parallel with respect to induced connection on $M$ then $M$ is totally geodesic.
In $(2n+1)$-dimensional non-Sasakian contact metric manifolds, we consider Legendre curves whose mean curvature vector fields are $\mathcal{C}$-parallel or $\mathcal{C}$-proper in the tangent or normal bundles. We obtain the curvature characterizations of these curves. Moreover, we give some examples of these kinds of curves which satisfy the conditions of our results.
In this paper, we initiate the study of lightlike hypersurfaces of an $(ε)$-almost paracontact metric manifold which are tangent to the structure vector field. In particular, we give definitions of invariant lightlike hypersurfaces and screen semi-invariant lightlike hypersurfaces, and give some examples. Integrability conditions for the distributions involved in the screen semi-invariant lightlike hypersurface are investigated when the ambient manifold is an $(ε)$-para Sasakian manifold.
We classify pseudo-Riemannian submersions with connected totally geodesic fibres from a real pseudo-hyperbolic space onto a pseudo-Riemannian manifold. Also, we obtain the classification of the pseudo-Riemannian submersions with (para-)complex connected totally geodesic fibres from a (para-)complex pseudo-hyperbolic space onto a pseudo-Riemannian manifold.
The main purpose of the present work is to investigate statistical manifolds endowed with almost product structures. We prove that the statistical structure of a para-Kähler-like statistical manifold of constant curvature in the Kurose's sense is a Hessian structure. We also derive the main properties of statistical submersions which are compatible with almost product structures. The results are illustrated by several nontrivial examples.
In this paper, we initiate the study of conformal $η$-Ricci soliton and almost conformal $η$-Ricci soliton within the framework of para-Sasakian manifold. We prove that if para-Sasakian metric admits conformal $η$-Ricci soliton, then the manifold is $η$-Einstein and either the soliton vector field $V$ is Killing or it leaves $ϕ$ invariant. Here, we have shown the characteristics of the soliton vector field $V$ and scalar curvature when the manifold admitting conformal $η$-Ricci soliton and vector field is pointwise collinear with the characteristic vector field $ξ$. Next, we show that a para-S…
Based on ideas of Pigolla and Setti \cite{PS} we prove that immersed submanifolds with bounded mean curvature of Cartan-Hadamard manifolds are Feller. We also consider Riemannian submersions $π\colon M \to N$ with compact minimal fibers, and based on various criteria for parabolicity and stochastic completeness, see \cite{Grygor'yan}, we prove that $M$ is Feller, parabolic or stochastically complete if and only if the base $N$ is Feller, parabolic or stochastically complete respectively.
In this article, we introduce some metallic structures on the tangent bundle of a P-Sasakian manifold by complete lift, horizontal lift and vertical lift of a P-Sasakian structure $(ϕ, η,ξ)$ on tangent bundle. Then we investigate the integrability and parallelity of these metallic structures.
The present paper deals with the study of Chaki-pseudo parallel and Deszcz-pseudo parallel invariant submanifolds of SQ-Sasakian manifolds with respect to Levi-Civita connection and semisymmetric metric connection and obtain that these two classes are equivalent with a certain condition. Also the invariant and anti-invariant submanifolds of SQ-Sasakian manifolds with respect to Levi-Civita connection as well as semisymmetric metric connection whose metrics are Ricci solitons are studied.
A 3-Sasakian structure on a 7-manifold may be used to define two distinct Einstein metrics: the 3-Sasakian metric and the squashed Einstein metric. Both metrics are induced by nearly parallel $G_2$-structures which may also be expressed in terms of the 3-Sasakian structure. Just as Einstein metrics are critical points for the Ricci flow up to rescaling, nearly parallel $G_2$-structures provide natural critical points of the (rescaled) geometric flows of $G_2$-structures known as the Laplacian flow and Laplacian coflow. We study each of these flows in the 3-Sasakian setting and see that their b…
We define pseudo-Hermitian magnetic curves in Sasakian manifolds endowed with the Tanaka-Webster connection. After we give a complete classification theorem, we construct parametrizations of pseudo-Hermitian magnetic curves in $\mathbb{R}^{2n+1}(-3)$.
We investigate the curvature properties of a two-parameter family of Hermitian structures on the product of two Sasakian manifolds, as well as intermediate relations. We give a necessary and sufficient condition for a Hermitian structure belonging to the family to be Einstein and provide concrete examples.
The Newman-Penrose-Perjes formalism is applied to Sasakian 3-manifolds and the local form of the metric and contact structure is presented. The local moduli space can be parameterised by a single function of two variables and it is shown that, given any smooth function of two variables, there exists locally a Sasakian structure with scalar curvature equal to this function. The case where the scalar curvature is constant ($η$-Einstein Sasakian metrics) is completely solved locally. The resulting Sasakian manifolds include $S^3$, $Nil$ and $\tilde{SL_2R}$, as well as the Berger spheres. It is al…
We introduce new metric structures on a smooth manifold (called "weak" structures) that generalize the almost contact, Sasakian, cosymplectic, etc. metric structures $(φ,ξ,η,g)$ and allow us to take a fresh look at the classical theory. We demonstrate this statement by generalizing several well-known results. We prove that any Sasakian structure is rigid, i.e., our weak Sasakian structure is homothetically equivalent to a Sasakian structure. We show that a weak almost contact structure with parallel tensor $φ$ is a weak cosymplectic structure and give an example of such a structure on the prod…
The concept of quasi generalized CR-lightlike was first introduced by the authors in [18]. In this paper, we focus on ascreen and co-screen quasi generalized CR-lightlike submanifolds of indefinite nearly $μ$-Sasakian manifold. We prove an existence theorem for minimal ascreen quasi generalized CR-lightlike submanifolds admitting a metric connection. Classification theorems on nearly parallel and auto-parallel distributions on a co-screen quasi generalized CR-lightlike submanifold are also given. Several examples are also constructed, where necessary, to illustrate the main ideas.
The present study initially identify the generalized symmetric connections of type $(α,β)$, which can be regarded as more generalized forms of quarter and semi-symmetric connections. The quarter and semi-symmetric connections are obtained respectively when $(α,β)=(1,0)$ and $(α,β)=(0,1)$. Taking that into account, a new generalized symmetric metric connection is attained on Lorentzian para-Sasakian manifolds. In compliance with this connection, some results are obtained through calculation of tensors belonging to Lorentzian para-Sasakian manifold involving curvature tensor, Ricci tensor and Ri…
We carry on a systematic study of nearly Sasakian manifolds. We prove that any nearly Sasakian manifold admits two types of integrable distributions with totally geodesic leaves which are, respectively, Sasakian or $5$-dimensional nearly Sasakian manifolds. As a consequence, any nearly Sasakian manifold is a contact manifold. Focusing on the $5$-dimensional case, we prove that there exists a one-to-one correspondence between nearly Sasakian structures and a special class of nearly hypo $SU(2)$-structures. By deforming such a $SU(2)$-structure one obtains in fact a Sasaki-Einstein structure. Fu…
We study bifurcation for the constant scalar curvature equation along a one-parameter family of Riemannian metrics on the total space of a harmonic Riemannian submersion. We provide an existence theorem for bifurcation points and a criterion to see that the conformal factors corresponding to the bifurcated metrics must be indeed constant along the fibers. In the case of the canonical variation of a Riemannian submersion with totally geodesic fibers, we characterize discreteness of the set of all degeneracy points along the family and give a sufficient condition to guarantee that bifurcation ne…
In this paper, we define almost paracontact and normal almost paracontact Finsler structures on a vector bundle and find some conditions for integrability of these structures. We define paracontact metric, para- Sasakian and K-paracontact Finsler structures and study some properties of these structures. For a K-paracontact Finsler structure, we find the vertical and horizontal flag curvatures. Then, we define vertical ?-flag curvature and prove that every locally symmetric para-Sasakian Finsler structure has negative vertical ?-flag curvature. Finally, we define the horizontal and vertical Ric…
The space of invariant affine connections on every $3$-Sasakian homogeneous manifold of dimension at least $7$ is described. In particular, the remarkable subspaces of invariant affine metric connections, and the subclass with skew-torsion, are also determined. To this aim, an explicit construction of all $3$-Sasakian homogeneous manifolds is exhibited. The unique $3$-Sasakian homogeneous manifolds which admit nontrivial Einstein with skew-torsion invariant affine connections are those of dimension $7$, that is, $\mathbb{S}^7=\mathrm{Sp} (2)/ \mathrm{Sp(1)}$, $\mathbb{R} P^7=\mathrm{Sp}(2)/ \m…
This paper is a continuation of our previous work, where eleven basic classes of almost paracontact metric manifolds with respect to the covariant derivative of the structure tensor field were obtained. First we decompose one of the eleven classes into two classes and the basic classes of the considered manifolds become twelve. Also, we determine the classes of $α$-para-Sasakian, $α$-para-Kenmotsu, normal, paracontact metric, para-Sasakian, K-paracontact and quasi-para-Sasakian manifolds. Moreover, we study 3-dimensional almost paracontact metric manifolds and show that they belong to four bas…
