We prove the small energy scattering for the three-dimensional generalized Zakharov system with radial symmetry based on the idea by Guo and Nakanishi (2014), which treats the usual Zakharov system. For the proof, we use the frequency-localized normal form reduction, and the radially improved Strichartz estimates. The relation between the solution to the integral equations, which includes the unusual boundary terms, and the original differential equations is also considered.
We prove small energy scattering for the 3D Klein-Gordon-Zakharov system with radial symmetry. The idea of proof is the same as the Zakharov system studied in \cite{GN}, namely to combine the normal form reduction and the radial-improved Strichartz estimates
We prove small energy scattering for the 3D Zakharov system with radial symmetry. The main ingredients are normal form reduction and the radial-improved Strichartz estimates.
We consider the global dynamics below the ground state energy for the Zakharov system in the 3D radial case. We obtain dichotomy between the scattering and the growup.
We consider the global dynamics below the ground state energy for the Klein-Gordon-Zakharov system in the 3D radial case; and obtain the dichotomy between scattering and finite time blow up.
We prove global existence and scattering for small localized solutions of the Cauchy problem for the Zakharov system in 3 space dimensions. The wave component is shown to decay pointwise at the optimal rate of t^{-1}, whereas the Schrödinger component decays almost at a rate of t^{-7/6}.
We prove dynamical dichotomy into scattering and blow-up (in a weak sense) for all radial solutions of the Zakharov system in the energy space of four spatial dimensions that have less energy than the ground state, which is written using the Aubin-Talenti function. The dichotomy is characterized by the critical mass of the wave component of the ground state. The result is similar to that by Kenig and Merle for the energy-critical nonlinear Schrodinger equation (NLS). Unlike NLS, however, the most difficult interaction in the proof stems from the free wave component. In order to control it, the…
We study the Cauchy problem for the Klein-Gordon-Zakharov system in spatial dimension $d \ge 4$ with radial or non-radial initial datum $(u, \partial_t u, n, \partial_t n)|_{t=0}\in H^{s+1}(\mathbb{R}^d) \times H^s(\mathbb{R}^d) \times \dot{H}^s(\mathbb{R}^d) \times \dot{H}^{s-1}(\mathbb{R}^d)$. The critical value of $s$ is $s=s_c=d/2-2$. If the initial datum is radial, then we prove the small data global well-posedness and scattering at the critical space in $d \ge 4$ by applying the radial Strichartz estimates and $U^2, V^2$ type spaces. On the other hand, if the initial datum is non-radial,…
We consider the Zakharov system in the energy critical dimension $d=4$ with energy below the ground state. It is known that below the ground state solutions exist globally in time, and scatter in the radial case. Scattering below the ground state in the non-radial case is an open question. We show that if scattering fails, then there exists a minimal energy non-scattering solution below the ground state. Moreover the orbit of this solution is precompact modulo translations. The proof follows by a concentration compactness argument, together with a refined small data theory for energy dispersed…
We consider the generalized two-dimensional Zakharov-Kuznetsov equation $u_t+\partial_x Δu+\partial_x(u^{k+1})=0$, where $k\geq3$ is an integer number. For $k\geq8$ we prove local well-posedness in the $L^2$-based Sobolev spaces $H^s(\mathbb{R}^2)$, where $s$ is greater than the critical scaling index $s_k=1-2/k$. For $k\geq 3$ we also establish a sharp criteria to obtain global $H^1(\R^2)$ solutions. A nonlinear scattering result in $H^1(\R^2)$ is also established assuming the initial data is small and belongs to a suitable Lebesgue space.
We study the Cauchy problem for the Zakharov system in spatial dimension $d\ge 4$ with initial datum $(u(0), n(0), \partial_t n(0)) \in H^k(\mathbb{R}^d) \times \dot{H}^l(\mathbb{R}^d)\times \dot{H}^{l-1}(\mathbb{R}^d)$. According to Ginibre, Tsutsumi and Velo, the critical exponent of $(k,l)$ is $((d-3)/2,(d-4)/2)$. We prove the scattering and the small data global well-posedness at the critical space. It seems difficult to get the crucial bilinear estimate only by applying the $U^2,\ V^2$ type spaces introduced by Koch-Tataru. To avoid the difficulty, we use an intersection space of $V^2$ ty…
In this paper, we'll prove a L^2-concentration result of Zakharov system in space dimension two, with radial initial data (u_0,n_0,n_1)\in H^s\times L^2\times H^{-1} ({16/17}<s<1), when blow up of the solution happens by I-method. In additional to that we find a blow up character of this system. Furthermore, we improve the global existence result of Bourgain's to above spaces.
We obtain scattering for the 3D Zakharov system with non-radial small data in the energy space with angular regularity of degree one. The main ingredient is a generalized Strichartz estimate for the Schrödinger equation in the space of $L^2$ angular integrability.
We are interested in the Klein-Gordon-Zakharov system in $\mathbb{R}^{1+2}$, which is an important model in plasma physics with extensive mathematical studies. The system can be regarded as semilinear coupled wave and Klein-Gordon equations with nonlinearities violating the null conditions. Without the compactness assumptions on the initial data, we aim to establish the existence of small global solutions, and in addition, we want to illustrate the optimal pointwise decay of the solutions. Furthermore, we show that the Klein-Gordon part of the system enjoys linear scattering while the wave par…
The Cauchy problem for the Zakharov system in four dimensions is considered. Some new well-posedness results are obtained. For small initial data, global well-posedness and scattering results are proved, including the case of initial data in the energy space. None of these results is restricted to radially symmetric data.
The Zakharov-Kuznetsov equation in spatial dimension $d\geq 5$ is considered. The Cauchy problem is shown to be globally well-posed for small initial data in critical spaces and it is proved that solutions scatter to free solutions as $t \to \pm \infty$. The proof is based on i) novel endpoint non-isotropic Strichartz estimates which are derived from the $(d-1)$-dimensional Schrödinger equation, ii) transversal bilinear restriction estimates, and iii) an interpolation argument in critical function spaces. Under an additional radiality assumption, a similar result is obtained in dimension $d=4$…
We study the theory of scattering for the Zakharov system in space dimension 3. We prove in particular the existence of wave operators for that system with no size restriction on the data in larger spaces and for more general asymptotic states than were previously considered, and we determine convergence rates in time of solutions in the range of the wave operators to the solutions of the underlying linear system. We also consider the same system in space dimension 2, where we prove the existence of wave operators in the special case of vanishing asymptotic data for the wave field.
We consider the final-state problem for the Zakharov system in the energy space in three space dimensions. For $(u_+, v_+) \in H^1 \times L^2$ without any size restriction, symmetry assumption or additional angular regularity, we perform a physical-space randomization on $u_+$ and an angular randomization on $v_+$ yielding random final states $(u_+^ω, v_+^ω)$. We obtain that for almost every $ω$, there is a unique solution of the Zakharov system scattering to the final state $(u_+^ω, v_+^ω)$. The key ingredient in the proof is the use of time-weighted norms and generalized Strichartz estimates…
The wave turbulence equation is an effective kinetic equation that describes the dynamics of wave spectrum in weakly nonlinear and dispersive media. Such a kinetic model has been derived by physicists in the sixties, though the well-posedness theory remains open, due to the complexity of resonant interaction kernels. In this paper, we provide a global unique radial strong solution, the first such a result, to the wave turbulence equation for capillary waves.
In this paper, we prove the nonlinear orbital stability of the stationary traveling wave of the one-dimensional Gross-Pitaevskii equation by using Zakharov-Shabat's inverse scattering method.
We prove scattering below the ground state threshold for an energy-critical inhomogeneous nonlinear Schrödinger equation in three space dimensions. In particular, we extend results of Cho, Hong, and Lee from the radial to the non-radial setting.
We extend the result of Farah and Guzmán on scattering for the $3d$ cubic inhomogeneous NLS to the non-radial setting. The key new ingredient is a construction of scattering solutions corresponding to initial data living far from the origin.
We revisit the scattering result of Holmer and Roudenko on the radial focusing cubic NLS in three space dimensions. Using the radial Sobolev embedding and a virial/Morawetz estimate, we give a simple proof of scattering below the ground state that avoids the use of concentration compactness.
In this paper we study the scattering of radial solutions to a $l$-component system of nonlinear Schrödinger equations with quadratic-type growth interactions in dimension five. Our approach is based on the recent technique introduced by Dodson and Murphy, which relies on the radial Sobolev embedding and a Morawetz estimate.
In this paper, we study the long-time behavior of global solutions to the Schrödinger-Choquard equation $$i\partial_tu+Δu=-(I_α\ast|\cdot|^b|u|^{p})|\cdot|^b|u|^{p-2}u.$$ Inspired by Murphy, who gave a simple proof of scattering for the non-radial inhomogeneous NLS, we prove scattering theory below the ground state for the intercritical case in energy space without radial assumption.
In this paper we prove that the cubic wave equation is globally well - posed and scattering for radial initial data lying in a slightly supercritical Sobolev space, and a weighted Sobolev space.
In this paper we prove global well-posedness and scattering for the defocusing, cubic, nonlinear wave equation on $\mathbf{R}^{1 + 3}$ with radial initial data lying in the critical Sobolev space $\dot{H}^{1/2}(\mathbf{R}^{3}) \times \dot{H}^{-1/2}(\mathbf{R}^{3})$.
This note studies the asymptotic behavior of global solutions to the fourth-order generalized Hartree equation $$i\dot u+Δ^2 u\pm(I_α*|u|^p)|u|^{p-2}u=0.$$ Indeed, for both attractive and repulsive sign, the scattering is obtained in the mass super-critical and energy sub-critical regimes, with radial setting.
In this paper we discuss global well - posedness and scattering for some initial value problems that are $L^{2}$ supercritical and $\dot{H}^{1}$ subcritical, with radial data. We prove global well - posedness and scattering for radial data in $H^{s}$, $s > s_{c}$, where the problem is $\dot{H}^{s_{c}}$ - critical. We make use of the long time Strichartz estimates of \cite{D2} to do this.
We consider the focusing wave equation outside a ball of $\R^3$, with Dirichlet boundary condition and a superquintic power nonlinearity. We classify all radial stationary solutions, and prove that all radial global solutions are asymptotically the sum of a stationary solution and a radiation term.
We revisit the scattering result of Duyckaerts, Holmer, and Roudenko for the non-radial $\dot H^{1/2}$-critical focusing NLS. By proving an interaction Morawetz inequality, we give a simple proof of scattering below the ground state in dimensions $d\geq 3$ that avoids the use of concentration compactness.
In this paper we prove that the cubic wave equation is globally well - posed and scattering for radial initial data lying in $B_{1,1}^{2} \times B_{1,1}^{1}$. This space of functions is a scale invariant subspace of $\dot{H}^{1/2} \times \dot{H}^{-1/2}$.
In this paper, we give a simple proof of scattering result for the Schrödinger equation with combined term $i\pa_tu+Δu=|u|^2u-|u|^4u$ in dimension three, that avoids the concentrate compactness method. The main new ingredient is to extend the scattering criterion to energy-critical.
This paper studies the asymptotic behavior of global solutions to the generalized Hartree equation $$i\dot u+Δu+(I_α*|\cdot|^b|u|^p)|x|^b|u|^{p-2}u=0 .$$ Indeed, using a new approach due to \cite{dm}, one proves the scattering of the above inhomogeneous Choquard equation in the mass-super-critical and energy sub-critical regimes with radial setting.
We revisit the problem of scattering below the ground state threshold for the mass-supercritical focusing nonlinear Schrödinger equation in two space dimensions. We present a simple new proof that treats the case of radial initial data. The key ingredient is a localized virial/Morawetz estimate; the radial assumption aids in controlling the error terms resulting from the spatial localization.
This manuscript proves the energy scattering of global solutions to a repulsive fourth-order generalized Hartree equation with non-radial data in the inter-critical regime. This work uses a new approach due to Dodson-Murphy [4] and extends the previous work [14] by removing the spherically symmetric assumption on the data.
We consider the scattering results of the radial solutions below the ground state to the focusing inhomogeneous nonlinear Schrödinger equation $$i\partial_tu+Δu +|x|^{-b}|u|^{p}u=0$$ in two dimension, where $0<b<1$ and $2-b<p<\infty$. We use a modified version of Arora-Dodson-Murphy's approach [1] to give a new proof that extends the scattering results of [10] and avoids concentration compactness.
We extend the scattering result for the radial defocusing-focusing mass-energy double critical nonlinear Schrödinger equation in $d\leq 4$ given by Cheng et al. to the case $d\geq 5$. The main ingredient is a suitable long time perturbation theory which is applicable for $d\geq 5$. The paper will therefore give a full characterization on the scattering threshold for the radial defocusing-focusing mass-energy double critical nonlinear Schrödinger equation in all dimensions $d\geq 3$.
We consider the cubic-quintic nonlinear Schrödinger equation in two space dimensions. For this model, X. Cheng established scattering for $H^1$ data with mass strictly below that of the ground state for the cubic NLS. Subsequently, R. Carles and C. Sparber utilized the pseudoconformal energy estimate to obtain scattering at the sharp threshold for data belonging to a weighted Sobolev space. In this work, we remove the weighted assumption and establish scattering at the threshold for radial data in $H^1$.
In dimension N=3 the cubic nonlinear Schrodinger equation has solutions which become singular, i.e. at a spatial point they blow up to infinity in finite time. In 1972 Zakharov famously investigated finite time singularity formation in the cubic nonlinear Schrodinger equation as a model for spatial collapse of Langmuir waves in plasma, the most abundant form of observed matter in the universe. Zakharov assumed that (NLS) blow up of solutions is self-similar and radially symmetric, and that singularity formation can be modeled by a solution of an associated self-similar, complex ordinary differ…
This note studies the asymptotic behavior of global solutions to the fourth-order Schrödinger equation $$i\dot u+Δ^2 u+F(x,u)=0 .$$ Indeed, for both cases, local and non-local source term, the scattering is obtained in the focusing mass super-critical and energy sub-critical regimes, with radial setting. This work uses a new approach due to Dodson-Murphy \cite{dm}.
We consider the defocusing energy-critical NLS in the exterior of the unit ball in three dimensions. For the initial value problem with Dirichlet boundary condition we prove global well-posedness and scattering with large radial initial data in the Sobolev space $\dot H_0^1$. We also point out that the same strategy can be used to treat the energy-supercritical NLS in the exterior of balls with Dirichlet boundary condition and radial $\dot H_0^1$ initial data.
